Baby Dies an Hour After Getting Seven Vaccines—But You Can’t Question the Shots?

Imagine taking your perfectly healthy baby to the pediatrician for a “well-baby visit.” You allow the doctor to give your baby all the scheduled vaccines and, within an hour, your healthy baby is dead. Considering that your baby was administered 7-8 vaccines—one right after the other, you naturally assume the vaccines may have had something to do with your child’s death. The medical staff, however, assures you that the death could not possibly have been caused by the vaccines because they had observed the baby for 20 minutes post-vaccination and there were no apparent problems. Besides, they say, other babies have been given the same vaccines and they did fine.

This story, along with the questionable medical logic, has been repeated many times in the United States and around the world for decades. Most often, they are not publicized, and so the general public assumes such cases are rare. But they’re not that rare, particularly in India, where the pentavalent (5 vaccines in one shot) vaccine is given to infants, along with several other vaccines during the first year of life.

The vaccines infants in India routinely receive include the BCG (Bacillus Calmette–Guérin) vaccine; IPV (injectable or “inactivated” polio vaccine); OPV (oral polio vaccine); PCV (pneumococcal conjugate vaccine), and rotavirus vaccine (RVV). The pentavalent vaccine contains one dose each of diphtheria vaccine, pertussis vaccine, tetanus vaccine, hepatitis B (HepB) vaccine, and Haemophilus influenzae type B (Hib) vaccine.1 2

Just last week, The Times of India published an article about a 45-day-old baby girl in Rajanna Sircilla, India who was administered the pentavalent, HepB, and IPV shots. Since the HepB vaccine is already in the pentavalent vaccine, the reporter likely meant either the OPV, PCV, or RVV—or a total of seven vaccines. The parents of the child took her to a primary health center to receive the required vaccinations on Feb. 5, 2025.3 According to the article:

After receiving the shots, the parents stayed at the hospital for 30 minutes before returning home. About 30 minutes later, they noticed the baby was unresponsive and rushed her to a private hospital, where she was declared dead.3

The family of the child protested and alleged negligence on the part of the hospital staff as the cause of death. The staff said that they had observed the baby for 20 minutes after she was vaccinated and she appeared fine, and that another baby was vaccinated at about the same time and responded well to the shots. The local medical officer confirmed that the baby’s death was not caused by any complications related to the vaccines but rather by milk aspiration—”a condition where milk enters the lungs instead of the stomach.”3

Deaths of Babies Soon After Vaccination Usually Attributed to Something Else

Death by aspiration following the death of a baby shortly after a series of vaccinations seems to be a common refrain in India. In the case of one-month-old Aradhika Tripath, who died within two hours of being given seven vaccines, including pentavalent, Indian health officials alleged the child may have died from inhaling food or liquid into the trachea and lungs and accused the family of negligence when feeding her.4

In another case reported by The Times of India last September, a six-week-old infant in Chhattisgarh, India died after developing breathing difficulties soon after the baby was administered nine vaccines, including the pentavalent, IPV, OPV, PCV, and RVV shots. The article noted it was the third case of a baby dying in Chhattisgarh shortly after receiving the vaccinations that week.5

Vaccine Reaction has reported on at least a dozen cases of babies in India dying within hours after getting the pentavalent and other vaccines at the same time. Obviously, this is not remotely close to a complete list of such cases in this country where infants die shortly after receiving multiple vaccines. What is interesting is that in none of these cases were the deaths of the children attributed to the vaccinations just given, and there always seems to be a perfunctory rationale for dismissing a possible connection.

Consider the case of a five-month-old baby boy who died on Feb. 12-13, 2020 within hours of receiving the pentavalent vaccine. The medical officer who read a copy of the child’s post-mortem attributed the death to respiratory distress.4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 The rationale? The medical officer stated:

The same batch of vaccines were given to several hundred children. In the same [public health center], the nurse has given the vaccine to eight other infants. There were no adverse reports.6

The same rationale was reportedly given following the four-and-a-half-month-old girl shortly after a pentavalent vaccination…

The health officers said that the other children who were vaccinated did not show any adverse symptoms.15

Even in cases where a baby in India died hours after receiving the pentavalent vaccine and many other babies given the same vaccine at the same health center developed a fever and became seriously ill, health officials have been reluctant to entertain the possibility of a link to the vaccinations. In 2019, two babies, aged six and eight weeks, died within 24 hours of getting the pentavalent vaccine at a primary health center in Hyderabad. Another 32 children who received the vaccine came down with fever and at least four of them developed “serious complications.” Health officials concluded the deaths and adverse reactions were caused by doctors having given the babies the analgesic opioid drug Tramadol by mistake. In other words, “medical error.”12

Perhaps the most common explanation for Indian babies dying hours after getting half a dozen or more vaccines at one time is, “It was a coincidence.”

While reports abound of many other infant deaths occurring after vaccination in India, health officials in that country continue to express doubt as to whether the deaths are truly attributable to vaccination. As one Indian health official noted:

Infant deaths after immunization are usually coincidental. These deaths have other co-factors linked to them, other than vaccination. … Such incidental deaths during vaccination are extremely unfortunate.15

Widespread Reluctance of Health Care Pros in India to Blame Vaccines for Any Sudden Death of a Healthy Child

There have been countless cases in India and around the world of babies and older children dying within hours or days of getting a vaccine or two. The reluctance of doctors and health officials to blame the shot in these cases has been consistent. This reluctance does not appear to be affected by the number of vaccines administered. In India, giving babies 7-8 vaccines, including the “5-in-1” pentavalent, is considered safe, despite reports of deaths soon after their administration.

You would think that, at some point, doctors and health officials would intuitively sense that an unknown number of babies and children cannot tolerate multiple vaccines administered simultaneously. But, for the most part, this does not appear to be happening.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) assures parents that “getting multiple vaccines at the same time has been shown to be safe” and that the “scientific data show that getting several vaccines at the same time does not cause any chronic health problems.” This belief is promoted by many doctors and other health care professionals.16

“Theoretically, there’s no maximum number of vaccines you can get at the same time if you’re willing to have sore arms. You can get four or five together,” said Sten Vermund, MD, PhD, a professor of public health, an infectious disease epidemiologist, and a pediatrician at the Yale School of Public Health in New Haven, Connecticut. “We have no reservations from a medical standpoint. There’s no upper limit to how many you can get at one time,” says Ana Weill, MD, MPH, a researcher and infectious disease specialist with University of Washington Medicine in Seattle.17

Then, of course, there’s my personal favorite from pediatrician Paul Offit, MD, a vaccine developer and patent holder at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia… ”

“A more practical way to determine the diversity of the immune response would be to estimate the number of vaccines to which a child could respond at one time…  Infants have the “theoretical capacity to respond to about 10,000 vaccines at any one time.”18

With this kind of thinking, it’s no wonder that so many doctors and other health care professionals remain stuck in this “denial at all costs” mindset. After all, if the “experts” believe that giving children dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of vaccines at one time is safe, then giving just a few at a time must certainly be safe. Consequently, any death temporally associated with recently administered vaccines must unquestionably be caused by something else.

Trump Order on Second Amendment Raises Hopes and Questions

“The Second Amendment is an indispensable safeguard of security and liberty.  It has preserved the right of the American people to protect ourselves, our families, and our freedoms since the founding of our great Nation,” President Donald Trump declared Friday in a highly anticipated executive order. “Because it is foundational to maintaining all other rights held by Americans, the right to keep and bear arms must not be infringed.”

Such a presidential action stirs the hopes of gun owners who have been wondering when Donald Trump would acknowledge the unequivocal promises he’s made to them on the campaign trail.

“Every single Biden attack on gun owners and manufacturers will be terminated on my very first week back in office, perhaps my very first day,” he pledged to an on-its-feet, approval-roaring crowd attending NRA’s Feb. 2024 Presidential Forum at the Great American Outdoor Show in Harrisburg’s Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex. Yet it’s taken almost three weeks since his inauguration to even mention the Second Amendment, leading some of us, including Gun Owners of America, to ask “Why?” when he’s found time to address many priorities that, while important, could hardly be deemed “foundational to maintaining all other rights.”

Gun owners’ confidence was further tested with Trump’s selection of Pam Bondi as attorney general. Her tenure as Florida’s top law enforcer was marked by support for many of the same citizen disarmament edicts being pushed by the gun prohibition lobby, including due process-denying “red flag laws,” a gun ban for 18-20-year olds, a bump stock ban, and Florida’s unconstitutional ban on open carry. And disappointment was high when Senate Republicans didn’t even broach the Second Amendment during her confirmation hearing, leaving that line of questioning to gun-grabbing Democrats. Bondi  didn’t help by following up her assertion that “I am pro-Second Amendment. I have always been pro-Second Amendment,” with “I will follow the laws of my state of Florida and our country, of course.”

On Wednesday, Bondi issued a memorandum to Justice Department employees that, among other things, ordered:

To free up resources to address more pressing priorities, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) shall shift resources from its Alcohol and Tobacco Enforcement Programs to focus on matters relating to the other priorities set forth herein. No resources shall be diverted from ATF’s regulatory responsibilities, such as federal firearms licenses and background checks.

That doesn’t sound like much relief for gun owners is planned, but it does make fair the question “What else does ‘such as’ include?”

President Trump’s executive order appears to address that, ordering Bondi, among other things, to examine all executive infringements, especially including those enacted during the Joe Biden administration, and come up with and  “work with the Domestic Policy Advisor to finalize a plan of action and establish a process for implementation.”

“This historic move sets the stage for a broader restoration of Second Amendment rights,” Gun Owners of America cheered.  “GOA is thrilled to see President Trump delivering on the promises he made to gun owners across America, starting with this executive order initiating a whole-of-government approach to restoring gun rights.”

It is a hopeful development. But – and there’s that word – it’s important to keep a realistic check on expectations, and I would be remiss not to identify some potential concerns raised in Section 4 of Trump’s order, in particular. It won’t affect executive authority and “is not intended to, and does not, create any right or benefit, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law or in equity by any party against the United States…”

That’s something to keep an eye on, because it will be shaped by Bondi’s and Trump’s inclinations, which we’ve seen from past actions and statements aren’t always the same as those of Second Amendment advocates. That can also be said for the Domestic Policy Advisor, Vince Haley, a former Newt Gingrich aide and Trump speechwriter whom the president elect named as Director of the Domestic Policy Council last November.

There’s not much relevant “gun” information on Haley except to note VoteSmart has a 2015 entry saying  he “was rated 86% by the National Rifle Association.” That does not scream “Gun Guy!” or suggest he’d be informed or invested enough to question anything Bondi brings to him, and that’s something to watch for.

What would help head off disappointments would be  for Trump to replace the Office of Gun Violence Prevention, headed by Kamala Harris and populated with leading anti-gunners, with the Office of Second Amendment Protection, chaired by Vice President JD Vance and advised by the Gun Owners for Trump coalition introduced in the presidential campaign to attract gun owner votes. Let them have the president’s ear — and us have theirs — and gun owners could help the administration avoid some of the letdowns of  the past and start making real progress.

Trump’s Second Amendment order is a good first step. It’s up to us to keep him on the path and walking in the right direction.

Two Cases That Pam Bondi Should Revisit

On Friday, President Donald Trump issued an executive order demanding Attorney General Pam Bondi review any litigation that might have violated an American’s Second Amendment rights. Many cases could be reviewed, but a few stand out as violating not only someone’s right to bear arms but also free speech and entrapment.

The first case that the Department of Justice might review is the AutoKeyCard case. The case involves Kristopher Justin Irvin, who sold a novelty metal card with an image of a lightning bolt to inspire conversations about gun laws. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) saw the card and decided it was a machinegun conversion device (MCD). The ATF would arrest Mr. Irvin and charge him with violating the National Firearms Act of 1934 (NFA).

After Mr. Irvin was arrested, Matthew Hoover started raising money for his defense. Mr. Hoover ran a successful YouTube channel CRS Firearms. During Irvin’s time in business, he contracted Hoover to advertise the item on his YouTube channel. At no time was Mr. Hoover in business with Irvin, but the ATF didn’t appreciate actions to help Irvin defend himself in court.

The ATF would issue and execute an arrest warrant for Hoover, claiming that he and Irvin had entered a conspiracy to distribute machine guns. ATF attorney Laura Coffer Taylor contended that the fundraising for Irvin’s defense was the two trying to defeat the government so the two could continue to profit from selling machine guns. Mr. Hoover was also accused of distributing machine guns even though Irvin only sponsored his channel, and Hoover in no way sold the item.

Is the AutoKeyCard an MCD? The ATF told the court it was even though they could not get the device to function as a lightning link. When cut out along the lines, the ATF failed to get the device to fire automatically. This failure was due to the image not having the correct dimensions. The ATF materially altered the card by cutting outside the lines. That means their argument was based on the card being metal and how it was advertised. They argued that it didn’t matter that it didn’t work. They said the men thought they would, and that was intent.

The ATF never got the card to work correctly, even after cutting it out. They did get a hammer follow, which is a malfunction that causes the hammer to follow the bolt carrier back into battery after a shot is fired. This malfunction can happen for many reasons and does not indicate automatic fire.

The men’s lawyers were also prohibited from making a Second Amendment defense. The court limited their arguments, which adversely affected their defense. State’s Attorney Laura Coffey Taylor also filed an order to try to gag this reporter from reporting on documents that AmmoLand News legally received. Gun Owners of America (GOA) defended my right to freedom of the press. Ultimately, the ATF dropped their motion to gag me after a show of force in the courtroom by GOA attorneys.

Both men were found guilty and sentenced to five years in prison for a piece of non-functional art resembling an MCD. There is an ongoing appeal. The Department of Justice (DOJ) can step in and stop the violation of the men’s Second Amendment rights and their First Amendment rights.

The second case involves a Navy Sailor named Patrick Tate Adamiak. Mr. Adamiak served in the Navy with pride and also sold firearms part kits part-time. A confidential informant (CI) working for the ATF contacted Adamiak for help brokering a deal for a demilled machine gun parts kit being sold on Gun Broker. Mr. Adamiak believed the kit was demilled correctly since it was on Gun Broker. He purchased the kit and resold it to the CI.

The ATF determined the kit wasn’t properly demilled since it was cut with a bandsaw, not a torch. They raided Adamiak’s home and arrested him. During the search, they found power tools the sailor claimed to use to remodel his home. The ATF took a different view, arguing that the tools had to be used to make guns. The ATF also found a demilled RPG that Adamiak had purchased at a flea market in California.

The RPG did not have a fire control group and had a large circular hole cut in its side. The ATF welded the hole shut, claiming it wasn’t big enough, and installed a fire control unit. With the RPG rebuilt and rewelded, the ATF was able to get it to work. They would charge Adamiak with multiple NFA violations. Mr Adamiak was found guilty and is currently appealing the ruling to the Circuit Court.

The two cases show that the ATF can be overzealous in its prosecution of Americans instead of concentrating on real criminals. Under Trump’s executive order, the DOJ has an opportunity to make things right.
