Hamas violates ceasefire agreement

IDF spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said Hamas violated the ceasefire agreement by failing to release all the women. “Today, as part of these ongoing efforts, we welcomed home four more Israeli hostages after 477 days in Hamas captivity…Our mission is not over until every single hostage comes home," Hagari said. LiveNOW from FOX's Josh Breslow is joined by Coastal Carolina University's Mark Chandler to discuss the latest.

John Bonifaz is the kind of guy who could have answered a casting call for “lunatic leftist who will attempt to resurrect the left’s failed strategies against Trump on his first day back in office.” He says he is the “Co-Founder and President of Free Speech For People,” as well as a “constitutional attorney,” all of which sounds impressive enough if you’re the type who gets impressed by that sort of thing, but which in reality simply confirms that what we have here is someone who has abjectly failed to read the room, and to realize that the fact that Trump has been impeached twice and has just become president again should tell him that his approach won’t work. Bonifaz also demonstrates that the left hasn’t thought of anything new to do. Its response to Trump's 2.0 will be more of the same.

At 12:55PM Eastern Time, not long after Donald Trump took the oath of office as the 47th president of the United States, Bonifaz made his momentous announcement: “BREAKING: We have just launched a new campaign calling for an impeachment inquiry against Donald Trump for offenses he has already committed upon taking the oath. You can access the grounds for this call at http://impeachtrumpagain.org. Join us in this fight for our democracy. @FSFP.” This will, of course, get absolutely nowhere, but it’s nonetheless a glimpse into the hamster-wheel of the left, endlessly repeating the same tired stuff against Trump even though it never gets them anywhere.

The Impeach Trump Again website declares:

Donald Trump has been sworn in as President of the United States for a second time. Not only is he disqualified from the presidency, but he has already violated the United States Constitution. And, just as eight years ago, more violations will certainly follow. Throughout his campaign and in the months between his election and inauguration, Trump has threatened to engage in unlawful, unconstitutional conduct. He has once again positioned himself to abuse the office for personal profit and power in violation of clear constitutional commands and at the expense of our democratic institutions, constitutional precedent, and the safety of our country’s most vulnerable.

That business about being “disqualified from the presidency” is the old twaddle about Trump being an “insurrectionist” and thus disqualified from the presidency on the basis of the Fourteenth Amendment. Leftists tried this as the 2024 campaign was heating up and failed in several attempts to keep Trump off the ballot on that basis, but apparently John Bonifaz, constitutional attorney, thinks that he has found the magic formula that will make it work this time.

The Impeach Trump Again website also helpfully informs us that “Trump is not a monarch. He is beholden to the Constitution, as is Congress. And as the Founders understood, if we are to preserve our democracy for the people, then Congress has a duty to investigate and, if necessary, remove a corrupt executive.” Yeah, “our democracy” again. Amy Klobuchar kept invoking that in her pre-inauguration bloviation Monday morning, in an obvious attempt to dunk on Trump for the “insurrection” nonsense yet again. Trump made a neat reference to “our republic” during his inaugural address, thereby subtly reminding the nation and the world that all the left’s hyperbolic ranting about how he was a danger to “our democracy” was wrongly focused in the first place, no doubt on purpose. If we had a democracy rather than a republic, you see, the electoral college could be more easily abolished, and the president elected by simple popular vote, which the Democrats thought was a winning formula for them until the election of 2024.

Impeach Trump Again goes on to say: “Free Speech For People is calling on Congress to launch an immediate impeachment investigation to determine whether there are sufficient grounds to impeach Donald Trump for offenses that have already occurred and that will continue in the days to come. Congress must also be prepared to expand its investigation if Trump undertakes any of the other impeachable actions that he has threatened to carry out.” Congress, you say? You mean the thing that Trump’s party currently controls? Good luck with that.

John Bonifaz is likely a reasonably intelligent fellow, and yet all he has done with his intelligence is show us yet again how warped a mind on leftism can become. Maybe someday this accomplished attorney will turn to more productive and rewarding pursuits. In the meantime, he is Exhibit A in the Museum of How the Left Is Out of Ideas to Deal With Trump.

President Trump’s Felony Conviction & Firearms Possession ~ VIDEO

Former and Current President Trump is now a convicted felon in the State of New York.

The abuse of the judicial system by the prosecutor and judge is some of the worst seen by astute, leftist legal commentators such as Jonathan Turley and Alan Dershowitz.

Dershowitz goes so far as to call him “a convicted innocent man”. He says there were 34 non-crimes President Trump was convicted of.

At left of center Politifact, this question was raised: From Politifact:

President-elect Donald Trump’s Jan. 10 felony sentencing raised questions on social media about his rights: Can he vote, travel internationally and own a gun?

Yes, likely, and no.

It is unlikely that the guilty verdict in the outrageous anti-Trump lawfare case in New York will survive for long.  When President Trump is sworn in to office, presidential immunity will apply to his second term in his presidency. The verdict will almost certainly be reversed long before that term ends. As Jonathan Turley notes:

The case has long been denounced by objective legal observers, including intense Trump critics, as a legal absurdity. Even CNN’s senior legal analyst Elie Honig denounced the case as legally flawed and unprecedented, while Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., simply called it total “b—s–t.”

It is a case based on a non-crime. Bragg took a long-dead misdemeanor and zapped it back to life with a novel and unfounded theory. By using federal violations that were never charged, let alone tried, Bragg turned a misdemeanor into dozens of felonies and essentially tried Trump for federal offenses.

In spite of a looming reversal, the conviction has positive implications for Second Amendment supporters and supporters of limited government in general.

There are cases moving forward in the legal system challenging the federal law, which bans all “felons” from possessing or owning firearms and ammunition. This is a relatively new federal crime, which came into being in 1968. Some courts have already declared the federal ban to be unconstitutional for non-violent offenses. The case most likely to be heard by the Supreme Court is Range v Lombardo, from the Third Circuit.

At the Supreme Court level, the justices are certain to learn more about the laughable felony convictions of President Donald Trump. The Supreme Court has a good chance of hearing the case if the New York Courts fail to do their duty.  The Trump case is a near-perfect example of judicial overreach and lawfare. The idea of a Presidential candidate being stripped of a fundamental, in-numerated, Constitutional right, without any hint of violence, is likely to make an impression about the absurdity of many felony laws in the current United States of America.

President Trump will be affected. It is one thing to generally be in favor of restoring rights protected by the Second Amendment. It is more personal and significant to have infringements on Second Amendment rights used directly against you in a preposterous way.

President Trump has done more for the restoration of Second Amendment rights than any President before him.

He has not demonstrated an intimate understanding of the war to restore those rights or the intricacies of the battles involved. In the future, the intimacy of the lawfare used against him may make the restoration of Second Amendment rights a personal battle for President Trump.

On Thursday, President Donald Trump pardoned 23 pro-life protesters, many of whom are elderly and in poor health.

“We released 23 people that were unjustly put in and had to do with pro-life. And they will be released, and they’ll be out very shortly. It was disgraceful what happened,” Trump stated.

The protesters were imprisoned for the October 2020 blockade of a Washington, D.C., abortion clinic –where the group linked arms together to block the clinic’s doors.

“They should not have been prosecuted,” Trump said, adding that it was a “great honor to sign this.”

The protesters were released ahead of Friday’s annual pro-life march in D.C., where Vice President JD Vance is expected to speak.

The individuals were prosecuted under the “FACE Act,” which was passed in 1994 and designed to protect abortion clinics from obstruction.

Trump previously vowed to release the pro-life activists while on the campaign trail, as multiple individuals involved were serving multi-year sentences. The longest sentence was given to a woman named Lauren Handy, who was sentenced to four years and nine months in prison for her involvement in the Washington, D.C., protest.

Republican lawmakers have attempted to repeal the law, arguing that Democrats have weaponized the law against pro-life groups.

“No administration in history has targeted Christians like the Biden Admin. We saw one persecution after another, from shutting down churches during COVID to raiding pro-lifers' homes at the crack of dawn. EVERY pro-life prisoner Biden wrongly imprisoned should be pardoned,” wrote Republican Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.).

Trump also recently pardoned all of the January 6th U.S. Capitol protesters, stating: “These people have already served years in prison, and they’ve served them viciously. It’s a disgusting prison. It’s been horrible. It’s inhumane. It’s been a terrible, terrible thing.”

Additionally, Trump pardoned Silk Road Marketplace founder Ross Ulbricht. Ulbricht was previously serving a double life sentence, plus 40 years, after being convicted in 2015 for creating Silk Road, a black market website where individuals were able to sell firearms and narcotics while utilizing encrypted virtual currencies to avoid being detected.

Trump noted that the pardon was in honor of “the Libertarian movement,” while adding that “the scum that worked to convict him were some of the same lunatics who were involved in the modern day weaponization of government against me.”

Ulbricht responded to Trump’s pardon following his release, thanking the new GOP president “for giving me this amazing blessing.”

“This is such an important moment for me and for my whole family,” Ulbricht stated in a social media post. “This is an important moment for everybody, everywhere who loves freedom and who cares about second chances.”
