The 58-year-old man accused of attempting to assassinate Donald Trump after camping out for 12 hours and aiming his firearm in the direction of Trump’s Secret Service agents while waiting for the former president to walk into his line of sight has pleaded not guilty to all of his charges.

On Monday, Ryan Wesley Routh pleaded not guilty to five charges, which includes the assassination attempt, federal gun charges, and the assault of an officer.

Routh faces charges of attempted assassination of a major presidential candidate, possessing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence, assaulting a federal officer, possession of a firearm and ammunition and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.

“Yes, your honor,” Routh said, before his lawyer entered the not guilty plea on his behalf.

Initially, Routh had been hit solely with federal weapons possession charges. However, a day after the letter was released, where he openly discussed his plan to kill Trump, Routh was finally handed the assassination attempt charges.

“This was an assassination attempt on Donald Trump but I failed you,” the eerie letter read.

“I tried my best and gave it all the gumption I could muster. It is up to you now to finish the job; and I will offer $150,000 to whomever can complete the job.”

His defense attorney tried to argue that he might have penned the letter in order to shine a spotlight on his “advocacy for democracy in Ukraine and Taiwan.”

A judge had ordered Routh to remain behind bars pending trial at his last hearing.

Additionally, Judge Aileen Cannon was selected at random to oversee the case. She also happens to be the same judge who dismissed the former president’s classified documents case after ruling that the process used to appoint the Special Counsel was unconstitutional.

The 58-year-old failed assassin is set to be arraigned on his charges during a court hearing next week.

A former Republican congressional candidate has been charged after allegations of threatening to kill his political opponent in 2021.

William Braddock has been accused of making the alleged threats on June 8th, 2021, which include threatening to “call up [his] Russian-Ukrainian hit squad” to take out his rival, Representative Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.).

Prosecutors stated that the Republican candidate had been caught on audio calling Luna a “dead squirrel” and “a f—ing speed bump in the road.”

A conservative activist recorded Braddock where he can be heard making threats against Luna.

“I really don’t want to have to end anybody’s life for the good of the people of the United States of America,” he was heard saying in the audio, as reported by Politico.

“That will break my heart. But if it needs to be done, it needs to be done. Luna is a f—ing speed bump in the road. She’s a dead squirrel that you run over every day when you leave the neighborhood.”

Braddock then went on to deny making any threats and insisted that the audio may have been altered. A judge later green-lit a restraining order against him.

After leaving the U.S., Braddock went to the Philippines and was eventually extradited there. The Justice Department said he was charged with one count of interstate transmission of a true threat to injure another person.

On Thursday, he appeared in federal court in Los Angeles.

After winning the election, Luna was sworn into Congress for the first time in January 2023.

Luna disclosed earlier this month that a “very serious shooting threat” was received by her office. She was vague about the specifics of the threat due to an ongoing investigation into it by law enforcement.

Hurricane Helene has caused at least 52 deaths, billions of dollars in damage, and left more than 3 million people without power.

With winds of 140 mph, Hurricane Helene made landfall in Florida’s Big Bend region late on Thursday. It made its way through Georgia, the Carolinas, and Tennessee, uprooting trees, shattering homes, forcing creeks and rivers over their banks, and stressing dams.

Garrison Douglas, a spokesperson for Georgia Governor Brian Kemp (R-Ga.), announced that at least 15 people were killed in the Peach State. WRDW-TV reported that among those deaths were a four-year-old girl, a seven-year-old boy, and a first responder.

In South Carolina, 17 people died as a result of the storm. Two of the individuals were firefighters on duty.

Countless others have died in North Carolina and in Florida.

Most of the reported deaths have occurred from falling trees or are due to individuals drowning in the water.

The storm caused catastrophic damage, submerging several homes up the roofline and destroying boats. Emergency responders were having difficulties rescuing stranded individuals due to damaged trees, power lines and other debris.

In the meantime, nearly four million people lost electricity from Florida all the way up the east coast to Virginia.

Over 100 people have been rescued from the rising waters, and numerous landslides have been reported during the “fierce storm,” North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper (D-N.C.) said Friday.

“People in western North Carolina should consider all roads closed unless they are seeking higher ground,” he said.

Flash flood emergencies are currently in effect in five states: Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.

Alarming Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) data revealed that tens of thousands of illegal immigrants convicted of sex crimes and homicides are currently living within American society.

Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-Texas) published the findings after receiving the data, which showcased the national number of illegal immigrants holding serious criminal charges or convictions.

“As of July 21, 2024, there were 662,566 noncitizens with criminal histories on ICE’s national docket – 13,099 criminally convicted MURDERS!” Gonzales posted on social media. “Americans deserve to be SAFE in our own communities.”

The Biden administration has seen millions of illegal aliens pouring into the country across the southern border. Biden officials say they’re here to claim asylum, but it is extremely backlogged, meaning that their cases will most likely not be heard for years, allowing them to live in the country while they wait for their cases to be examined.

Former President Donald Trump previously had a much different policy for non-citizens seeking asylum. His policies discouraged foreigners looking to migrate to the U.S. for better economic opportunities and free government kickbacks. However, the Biden administration relinquished Trump’s policy, resulting in tens of millions of Border Patrol encounters with foreigners illegally crossing the border.

Additionally, the data revealed that federal authorities were aware of 13,099 illegal immigrants freely presiding in the U.S. who have been convicted of homicide, as well as an additional 1,845 who have been accused of committing homicide.

Disturbingly, the data set also revealed that there are over 20,000 illegal immigrants living in the U.S. who have been convicted of or suspected of rape, as well as over 100,000 other illegals convicted of or accused of assault.

After the data release, ICE issued a statement in which they expressed concern in relation to the “policies” of “sanctuary” cities, which often end up becoming hotbeds for migrant criminals. Many of the convicted or accused migrant criminals living here left their own countries in the first place in order to avoid prison time.

The list of sanctuary states includes Kamala Harris’s home state of California, New York, and Illinois.

“ICE recognizes that some jurisdictions are concerned that cooperating with federal immigration officials will erode trust with immigrant communities and make it harder for local law enforcement to serve those populations,” stated ICE acting director Patrick Lechleitner. “However, ‘sanctuary’ policies can end up shielding dangerous criminals, who often victimize those same communities.”

The data also criticized Vice President Kamala Harris’ leadership, as Americans questioned why her and Biden’s policies have allowed a massive number of migrant criminals to enter the country under their watch.

“The Biden/Harris administration has opened the border, closed ICE detention centers, slowed deportations, and released murderers back to the street instead of removing them,” former ICE field office director John Fabbricatore posted on social media.

Former President Donald Trump chimed in on social media following the data drop, stating “Nobody who has allowed this to happen to our country is fit to be President of the United States!" Bad timing for her to show up to the Border today, after not going for four years. Why didn’t she release these numbers earlier?”
