[Order Daniel Greenfield’s new book, Domestic Enemies: HERE.]

In 9/11, Nasrina Bargzie, an Afghan Muslim immigrant, was interviewed by law enforcement over troubling comments about the War on Terror reported by her friends.

Today she’s the Deputy Counsel to Vice President Kamala Harris.

After coming to America from a wealthy family in Kandahar, later a stronghold of the Taliban and Al Qaeda, Nasrina Bargzie was raised in Concord, CA, one of the state’s hubs for Afghan migrants, and quickly got involved in anti-American and pro-terrorist activism.

In 2001, while attending college, she was interrogated by the FBI about comments she had made to her friends. It’s unknown what she said, but it was enough to scare her friends, in one of the most liberal parts of the country, to apparently report her to law enforcement.

The next year, she wrongly received a law school scholarship intended for women who had suffered persecution under the Taliban even though she had left long before they came to power.

“I would like to do something that would affect Afghanistan,” Nasrina told a local paper.

Berkeley Law School was a hub of anti-American and anti-Israel activities and by the time she graduated, Nasrina was prepared to embark on her career of attacking both countries.

She became a legal fellow at the ACLU and joined its lawfare machine to dismantle our national security defenses against Islamic terrorism. In 2008, she posted about “wearing orange”at the Today Show in solidarity with the Al Qaeda, Taliban and other terrorists being held at Gitmo.

Nasrina also complained that “murder charges” had yet to be filed against the heroic Marines who bravely fought for their lives against terrorists in the streets of Haditha during the Iraq War.

In 2011 she joined the Asian Law Caucus and went to war against Jewish students facing anti-Semitic harassment. In 2010, Jessica Felber, a Jewish student, was assaulted by a leader of the Students for Justice in Palestine campus hate group and filed suit against UC Berkeley for tolerating an atmosphere of hate by activists linked to terrorist organizations. .

Nasrina Bargzie accused Jewish students and organizations of “organized legal bullying” for suing universities. She ridiculed the idea that calling for the destruction of Israel was “threatening” and co-signed a petition claiming that the lawsuit by Jewish students was “threatening” the speech of Berkeley Students for Justice in Palestine and the Berkeley Muslim Students Association.

Jewish students, she argued, were the “aggressors” and rejected the idea that there was anything “anti-semitic” about the campus hate groups and their ties to Islamic terrorism.

Nasrina Bargzie was so desperate that she presented a request to the UN Human Rights Commission, a group often stocked with Islamic terrorist states, to intervene and stop the Department of Education from investigating “allegations of anti-Semitism on several campuses”.

The appeal to the UN was made on behalf of her Asian Law Caucus, CAIR, a group with a long history of supporting Hamas and other Islamic terrorist groups, the National Lawyers Guild, a group with Communist origin which has been complicit in antisemitic violence, and American Muslims for Palestine which has been sued over accusations of its ties to Hamas.

Hatem Bazian, the co-founder of Students for Justice in Palestine and the godfather of campus antisemitism, would later thank Nasrina and others, for “being constantly engaged in everything related to Palestine”. Alongside her was Zahra Billoo, the local head of CAIR, with whom Nasrina Bargzie had co-signed the letter, who would defend Hezbollah and Hamas.

Nasrina would work together with Biloo and CAIR, whose leader praised the Oct 7 attacks, on their next major project. While Nasrina had claimed that the antisemitic harassment of Jews on campuses was just “freedom of expression”, when ads against Islamic terrorism were taken out on San Francisco buses, Nasrina and CAIR rallied to fight against freedom of expression.

After the American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI) took out ads addressing the roots of Islamic terror, Nasrina Bargzie claimed that “the ads are offensive and terrible” and admitted that “people just started calling and texting me… ‘What are we gonna do about this?'”

CAIR and Bargzie convinced local Democrats, including DA George Gascon, to condemn the ads, which called for support for Israel and spoke out against Islamic terrorism.

Fresh from that victory, Bargzie and CAIR worked to protect Muslims accused of terrorism by restricting the police department’s relationship with the FBI. It was then that Bargzie revealed that she had been interrogated by the FBI and “was asked by the agent about her family history and background.” Information about those questions and history has not been forthcoming.

Members of the Bargzie family have told different stories about why they came to America, after traveling from Afghanistan to Pakistan. According to a Glamour magazine profile of Kamala’s staffers, “my father and uncle were prisoners of war who disappeared.”, and she told the San Diego Union Tribune that he was “executed.” However according to her younger sister Humah, also an activist and a lawyer,  “He said ‘I’ll see you tomorrow’ when he left the house, but he never came back.” His disappearance, she told another magazine, “for the most part, remains a mystery.” Did Nasrina lie about what happened to her father? And did her family?

What happened to Abdul-Khaliq Bargzie, a wealthy landowner from Kandahar, remains a mystery, but he may have been aligned with the Jihadist Islamist Mujahideen. Whatever the truth may be, Nasrina blamed the Communists rather than Islamists for his disappearance, and this may have strongly affected her activism for Islamist terrorists and terrorist supporters.

Despite having grown up in America, Nasrina Bargzie maintained close ties with her homeland, serving as president of the Afghan-American Bar Association, along with other Afghan groups, donating money back to her country and writing of her love for the 'Pashto' language.

By 2019,  she was described as representing “seventeen different Afghan human rights organizations.” Despite that, or perhaps because of it, she joined the Biden-Harris team, vetting incoming hires. And then she entered an administration already full of staffers with foreign allegiances, ties to foreign governments and even terrorist sympathizers.

In 2021, Nasrina became Kamala’s Deputy Counsel and then in 2022, as many members of the vice presidential team fled, she rose to the position of Deputy Counsel. She’s been named one of the “fabulous four”: the four employees most loyal to Kamala who stayed on. As a corollary, she’s one of the four whom Kamala favors and is most likely to promote.

Nasrina came out of some of the same legal and political circles as Kamala Harris. She worked for the ACLU at the same time Kamala’s sister Maya held a prominent role at the local ACLU. Maya also worked closely with CAIR and played a key role in Kamala’s presidential campaign.

No one in the FBI seems to have asked about Nasrina Bargzie’s original comments or the family history that troubled the government at the time. Nor has there been any mention of her work with pro-terror groups such as CAIR or her appearance on a panel with MPAC’s Salam Al Marayati, who has defended Islamic terrorists. But the implications of a woman who has spent much of her career undermining our national security, attacking Jews and defending terrorist sympathizers is troubling for Americans, for Jews, Christians and for all people of goodwill.

Nasrina Bargzie resents America despite everything it has done for her. After benefiting from the Refugee Resettlement program, she blamed America for having created the refugees. The Kamala Harris administration would be equipped to continue degrading our counterterrorism efforts, making life easier for Islamic terrorists and harder for Americans.

Occupying a prominent position in the Kamala administration, one of her top lawyers would be able to continue her campaign against American Jews and for the Hamas supporters attacking them.

How Dark-Money Elites ANOINTED Kamala Harris to CONTROL the Election

Who really runs this country? Is it Joe Biden? Kamala Harris? Yeah, no one really believes that. What about Pelosi, Schumer, or Jeffries? Obama? They even have to answer someone. It’s obvious political power brokers — a cabal — just led a coup on a sitting U.S. president. It’s not about democracy. It’s about money, and this cabal controls A LOT of it. The days of Soros and the Tides Foundation controlling the Democrat purse are behind us. There’s a new system in place that has the power to dump one president, groom another, and overthrow an entire election process in less than 48 hours. It wasn’t just the dark-money billionaires that opened up the financing floodgates. Apparently, we’re supposed to believe that the ENTIRE COUNTRY suddenly became excited for President Kamala Harris. Small donations allegedly skyrocketed. ActBlue, the Left’s main small-donor fundraiser platform, reported $27.5 million … within the first FIVE HOURS. Just a few hours later that number NEARLY DOUBLED to $46.7 million. After 24 hours, ActBlue was reporting over $90 MILLION for Mrs. Yellow School Bus. ActBlue declared that it was its biggest fundraising day of the entire 2024 election cycle. The former Federal Election Commission chair has said that “it’s quite clear” that Kamala Harris can just be GIFTED all of Joe Biden’s campaign funds, but the current FEC Chair Sean Cooksey told Glenn in an interview on “The Glenn Beck Program” that this is “unprecedented,” and he expects legal challenges to follow. He also said that it better happen soon because the window is closing fast. Gary Lawkowski, a partner at Dhillon Law Group and the deputy general counsel for the Trump campaign, filed a formal complaint with the FEC. He says Glenn Vice President Harris’ smash-and-grab seizure of President Biden’s campaign funds is the biggest campaign finance violation in history. Glenn asks, “What the hell is going on here?!” and reveals more ActBlue donation irregularities his research team stumbled onto that are very suspicious.

Victor Davis Hanson: “Anything That Didn’t Kill [Trump] Made Him Stronger”

In an interview with The Daily Signal, renowned historian Victor Davis Hanson discusses the updated edition of his bestselling book, "The Case for Trump." Months before the 2024 presidential election, Hanson offered fresh insights into the remarkable political comeback of Donald Trump. The book's new introduction delves into the final days of Trump's presidency through late spring 2024, chronicling the unprecedented challenges Trump has faced and his resilience since leaving the White House. Hanson covers recent events—from legal battles to media controversies—and their impact on Trump's political standing. "It was really the most remarkable comeback in American political history, even more impressive than Richard Nixon's phoenix-like rise after losing the gubernatorial election to Pat Brown in 1962," Hanson says. Our conversation explores the miscalculations of Trump's opponents, his unfair treatment at the hands of rogue prosecutors, and the ever-changing dynamics shaping the presidential race. Plus, Hanson offers his perspective on how best to counter Democrat presidential candidate Kamala Harris. Watch or listen to today's episode of "The Daily Signal Podcast" or read a lightly edited transcript of our interview.

"HE ASKED FOR IT": Victor Davis Hanson on Tim Walz' Meltdown

Victor Davis Hanson joins The Tony Kinnett Cast to highlight the critical controversies surrounding Walz the media are currently being forced to reckon with. He outlines the key factors in turning any election around in less than 100 days, and cites key moments in the late 20th century that "everything changed in an instant." Does Harris have the ability or the discipline to stay away from cameras until stepping onto the debate stage? Will Walz make that avoidance better or worse?

Kamala Harris Desperately Running from Her Own Anti-Second Amendment Record

Kamala Harris, the party-installed alternative to Joe Biden in the 2024 presidential election, is now squarely in the national spotlight. She and her handlers like to pretend this gives her the opportunity to invent her political persona out of whole cloth so that she can appeal to that decisive section of the American electorate that can be swayed in one direction or another.

In fact, Harris has a long political record, one that is now coming back to haunt her as she tries to portray herself as competent, professional, and middle-of-the-road. And if there’s one issue that has consistently defined her extreme brand of far-left politics, it is contempt for the Second Amendment. Try as she might, she cannot outrun that legacy.

We began delving into Harris’s record on Second Amendment issues last week. This included – during her time as a state and local politician in California — denying that the Second Amendment protects a right to keep and bear arms unrelated to militia service and insisting that it has no bearing on state or local gun control laws. These are not only extreme positions in 2024, after the Supreme Court had authoritatively ruled on these issues to the contrary, they were extreme positions then. A 2008 Gallup poll showed that only 20% of Americans agreed with Harris’s interpretation of the Second Amendment as applying solely to state militias, while 73% did not. In San Francisco, where she was free to be as far-left as she wanted, Harris was perfectly willing to be out of step with mainstream American thought on the Second Amendment.

Later, as a candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020, Harris even mocked Joe Biden’s reluctance to use executive authority to “eliminate” so-called “assault weapons.” This is the term anti-gun Democrats use for America’s most popular rifles, including the AR-15. While clearly agreeable to that idea in principle, even Biden had to admit it was unconstitutional. Yet when asked for her opinion on the matter, Harris laughed in Biden’s face and quipped: “I would just say, hey, Joe, instead of saying no we can’t, let’s say, yes we can.”

Saying “yes we can” to unconstitutional executive actions to ban and confiscate America’s favorite guns now presents a problem for Harris. Her strategy to deal with that problem? Gaslight and deny it.

According to the New York Times, a reliable ally of the Democrat party, “video clips of [Kamala Harris’s] old statements and interviews are being weaponized as Republicans aim to define her as a left-wing radical who is out of step with swing voters.”

“Weaponization” is strange way to describe letting a person’s own words and professional actions define the person’s values, beliefs, and policy positions.

Even stranger is how the Harris campaign plans to respond to those who bring up what the candidate herself has said and done during her political career, according to that same article: “The Harris campaign will rebut most of Republicans’ attacks by arguing that they are exaggerating or lying about her record, said a campaign official briefed on the plans who was not authorized to discuss them publicly.”

It would be one thing for Harris to claim she was wrong then and has since come to her senses and changed her mind. However unconvincing that might be, it would at least in theory be within the realm of possibility.

But Harris and her handlers want to rewrite history itself to deny the positions she took, the things she said, and their necessary implications.

So, who are you going to believe? Kamala Harris, then? Or Kamala Harris now? What you cannot believe, we are told, is your own ears and eyes.

There is a term in American law called “declaration against interest.” It is used when judging the reliability of a statement by a person who is not available in court to answer for his or her own words. This principle holds that when a person says something that is clearly contrary to his or her own best interests, it is more likely to be true. Put another way, when people are trying to protect themselves, they lie. But when they think they can talk with impunity, they tell the truth.

In the bubbles of California, San Francisco, and a Democrat primary, where far-left opinions are fashionable and rewarded, Harris could truly speak her mind on guns. Now that she is answerable for those opinions to a wider American audience, she is – right on cue – trying to retreat from them. And, right on cue, her media collaborators are doing their best to help her deny and rewrite the historical record.

America’s gun owners, however, should neither forget nor forgive where Harris has stood on their constitutional right to keep and bear arms. We will have plenty more to say on that record – or, more precisely, we’ll tell you what Harris herself has said –in the weeks to come.

Walz has a History of Betrayal for Gun Owners and Veterans

Democrat Presidential candidate Kamala Harris has chosen Tim Walz as her running mate to take on former President Donald Trump and Senator JD Vance.

Tim Walz was a moderate Democrat from Minnesota who had an A rating from the National Rifle Association (NRA) and was listed by “Guns and Ammo” as one of the “top 20 politicians for gun owners” before running for governor. He even signed onto an amicus brief in support of Dick Heller in the Heller v. DC Supreme Court case before making a sharp turn to the left and starting pushing for anti-gun policies. When Walz was a member of the House of Representatives for 12 years, he represented a conservative district that borders Iowa and was relatively friendly to guns.

“A ban on handguns is both unusual and unreasonable,” the brief says, later adding: “The District’s law-abiding citizens are deprived of handguns that are commonly kept by law-abiding people throughout the United States for lawful defense, which exacerbates the District’s high murder rate.”

That all changed in 2018 when Walz decided to run for Governor of Minnesota. He started pushing anti-gun policies such as universal background checks, opposing concealed carry reciprocity, and a so-called “assault weapons” ban. According to Walz, he changed his mind on guns after the Las Vegas shooting, but many believe that his move to the left has more to do with trying to get votes than an actual change of heart.

“As a member of Congress, I support universal background check legislation, oppose conceal and carry legislation before Congress, and oppose legislation to reduce restrictions on gun silencers,” Walz wrote on Facebook during his run for governor. “As governor of Minnesota, I will work to ensure that Minnesota passes universal background check legislation. I will support increased funding for mental health services and support additional restrictions that ensure that Minnesota keeps guns out of the hands of dangerous people.”

The drastic change caused the NRA to change his grade on guns from an “A” to an “F.” He started taking money from left-wing anti-gun groups such as Michael Bloomberg’s Everytown for Gun Safety and inviting Gabby Giffords to bill-signing ceremonies. Walz celebrated the downgrade from the NRA while claiming he was still a gun owner.

“It’s true. "I'm a veteran, a hunter, and a gun owner,” Walz tweeted in July. “But I’m also a dad. And for many years, I was a teacher. It’s about keeping our kids safe. I had an A rating from the NRA. Now I get straight F’s. And I sleep just fine.”

Mr. Walz claims he supports the Second Amendment but also thinks laws like universal background checks and extreme risk protection order (ERPO) laws don’t violate Constitutional protections. He refers to such policies as “common-sense safeguards.” Walz also claims that anti-gun laws do not make it more challenging for gun owners to acquire firearms, even though he backs banning certain guns.

“You are not going to frame this as this is taking your guns, because I’m going to frame it that you’re not sticking up for our children,” Walz said at a press conference where he pushed for Red Flag laws to take away Minnesotans’ guns.

Mr. Walz says he wants to ban the guns he carried “in war,” but there is a glaring issue with his statement. He has never been in combat or carried any firearm “in war.” Walz, known to wear a Green Beret baseball cap when he wasn’t a Special Forces member, did deploy to Italy, which is not a war zone.

“We can make sure those weapons of war that I carried in war is [sic] the only place that those weapons are at,” he said.

According to retired command sergeant major Tom Behrends, who spoke to Alpha News, Walz turned in his retirement papers once he learned he would have to deploy to Iraq four months before he was initially scheduled to retire. Mr. Behrends would deploy in Walz’s place and serve two years in Iraq with Minnesota’s First Battalion-125th Field Artillery.

“I was like well, for Pete’s sake, if this guy quits, if I say I’m not going to do it, I mean, what the hell kind of leadership is that?” Behrends recalled. “If a company would say we’re going to deploy to Iraq and the foreman says, ‘I’m not going,’ what does that say to the 500 that work in that factory?”

Mr. Walz also claimed to have retired as a command sergeant major (E-9), but that isn’t true. According to the Minnesota National Guard, because of his rushed retirement he couldn’t complete all the coursework to maintain the rank in retirement. His service record shows he retired as a master sergeant (E-8), not a command sergeant major.

No matter how gun owners feel about the stolen valor claims, one thing is for sure: Tim Walz will be no friend to gun owners unless it politically benefits him.
