Compromise Defense Bill Removes Restriction on Military Travel for Abortion

Rob Carr
A compromise $900 billion defense bill does not contain any restrictions on paying for military members' travel to get an abortion, nor does the bill block coverage of transition surgeries for transgenders and hormone treatments.

The bill also extends controversial Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act to four months. Republican-backed proposals to rein in diversity efforts, teach critical race theory, and institute a salary cap and hiring freeze for the diverse workforce were all included in the final bill.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) believes the GOP gave away too much.

"No member of the NDAA conference had any influence on this process. It was done in secret meetings with no input from conferees," she tweeted.

"Now, we’re supposed to just grin and take it with no say in the final bill."

Wall Street Journal:

Lawmakers who serve on both chambers’ Armed Services committees on Wednesday night released compromise texts for the annual National Defense Authorization Act. This year’s NDAA, which lays out top policy priorities for the Pentagon, calls for a 5.2% pay raise for service members and military training assistance to Taiwan to help the island defend itself against a possible invasion by China.

The text, called a conference report, came after House and Senate negotiators spent the past week hammering out differences between the NDAA bills their chambers passed earlier this year, a process that prompted House lawmakers to drop several controversial social-policy measures that were unlikely to get approval from President Biden and the Democratic-controlled Senate.

The bill will be introduced in the House under a suspension of the rules, meaning it will need a two-thirds majority to become law. At this point, it will be a close vote, but barring surprises, it should pass.

“Our nation faces unprecedented threats from China, Iran, Russia, and North Korea. It is vital that we act now to protect our national security,” the four leaders of the Armed Services committees — Sens. Jack Reed (D., R.I.), Roger Wicker (R., Miss.), and Reps. Mike Rogers (R-Ala.) and Adam Smith (D-Wash.) — said in a statement Thursday.

“Through months of hard-fought and productive negotiations, we have crafted a bipartisan and bicameral conference report that strengthens our national security and supports our servicemembers,” they said.

It appears that Sen. Tommy Tuberville's (R-Ala.) crusade to put a hold on all military promotions until the Pentagon altered its policy on paying for abortion travel went naught. The policy remains, and Tuberville has lifted his hold on promotions except for generals of four-star rank.

Significantly, there is bipartisan opposition to extending the foreign surveillance law, which is to be sunset after the first of the year.

The bill also extends until mid-April the government’s foreign surveillance powers, which are due to lapse at the end of this year. The decision to essentially table until the spring what is expected to be a fierce security and privacy debate over those powers could lead some lawmakers to vote against the overall defense legislation. More than 50 House lawmakers from both parties recently wrote to congressional leadership saying they opposed any effort to temporarily extend Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act by linking it to the must-pass annual defense bill.

The compromise stripped out most of the social justice and culture war elements to give Biden a fairly clean bill to sign. But first, it has to pass the House. Given that it contains the first pay raise for troops in several years and funds several popular weapons systems, even without abortion and transgender amendments, the bill has a good chance of passing.

BREAKING: The Text of the Biden Impeachment Inquiry Resolution Has Been Released

AP Photo/J. Scott Applewhite
After months of thorough investigation and gathering damning evidence, the House GOP unveiled a resolution on Thursday to officially formalize its impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden. A full House vote is scheduled for next week.

“It’s time for the House to take the next step in the Biden impeachment investigation and adopt an impeachment inquiry resolution. The White House and multiple witnesses have repeatedly refused to cooperate with the investigation and have rejected subpoenas. "Despite this refusal, the investigation has uncovered alarming details that demand further scrutiny,” Rep. Kelly Armstrong (R-N.D.) said in a statement.

“The Biden family and associates received more than $24 million from foreign nationals. Joe Biden received $200,000 from his brother, James Biden, the same day James received a $200,000 loan from a failing rural hospital operator. Joe Biden also received $40,000 in laundered Chinese money from his brother and sister-in-law. It’s become clear that the Biden family sold influence around the world using Joe Biden’s name as the product. An investigation into any jurisdiction around the country would move forward if it had these facts. A vote on an impeachment inquiry puts the House in the best position to prevail in court and uncover the truth,” Armstrong continued.

vote is likely to occur on Wednesday, Dec. 13. It seems unlikely that the House GOP would put forth this resolution without being confident that it has the votes to pass. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) said last week that House Republicans have the votes. On Wednesday, Joe Biden angrily refused to answer a question about the impeachment inquiry or the allegations against him, simply claiming dumbly that the accusations are "lies."

The House Oversight Committee's investigations have uncovered a trove of evidence, including eyewitness testimony suggesting that Joe Biden was involved in approximately 20 business calls with Hunter Biden's partners and White House meetings during his vice presidency. There are also financial records indicating that millions were laundered through shell companies benefiting the Biden family.

An FBI document alleges that Burisma bribed Joe and Hunter with $5 million each, supported by Devon Archer's testimony citing Joe Biden's critical role in selling the "Biden brand." More recently, the House Oversight Committee found monthly payments to Joe Biden from Hunter Biden's Owasco PC business account, which was regularly receiving money from Chinese sources.

The evidence is damning, and it's easy to see how even Republicans who were previously on the fence would have come on board in the past few weeks. As such, a full impeachment inquiry is completely justified.

For our VIPs: Why Impeaching Joe Biden Is a Smart Move

"Directing certain committees to continue their ongoing investigations as part of the existing House of Representatives inquiry into whether sufficient grounds exist for the House of Representatives to exercise its Constitutional power to impeach Joseph Biden, President of the United States of America," the resolution begins.

The mainstream media has come to Joe Biden's defense regarding a potential impeachment inquiry, falsely insisting that there is no evidence linking Joe to Hunter's foreign business dealings — and they've been schooled every time. No matter how much the media has tried to downplay the evidence against Biden, multiple polls have shown that Americans are already convinced of Biden family corruption.

An Economist/YouGov poll found that 72% of American adults believe that Hunter Biden profited off his father’s position, including 53% of Democrats and 72% of Independents. Another poll from I&I/TIPP found that 56% of U.S. voters say that it is “likely” that Biden took bribes, while only 27% say it was “unlikely.”

Dr. Shmuel Katz, a leader in Israeli advocacy in the United States, in a conversation with Arutz Sheva-Israel National News, discusses the rise in anti-Semitism on US campuses.

According to Dr. Katz, Arab countries have for decades strategic investments in education, where financial contributions to the tune of billions of petro-dollars lead to increased influence and representation within universities in the form of appointment of scholars who align with the values of the donors.

This, he explains, has shaped academic discourse and fostered a connection between universities and the interests of donor countries.

Anatomy of a Lynching: The Hillcrest HS Pogrom

A statement on the Jew-hating student riot at Hillcrest HS - and the immediate actions that need to be taken.

[Editors’ note: What happened at Hillcrest High School, as feral pro-Hamas students menaced a Jewish teacher for supporting Israel, is indicative of the Left’s constant modus operandi: once Leftists have tarred the offender as guilty of or aiding in “genocide,” any behavior is justified, and no bounds of human decency need be respected. The Hillcrest incident demonstrates in microcosm what will happen all over the country if the Left manages to consolidate its power: ideological foes will be hunted down and persecuted as class enemies, without the right of redress, or the right to be heard, or any rights whatsoever. The Hillcrest students demonstrate the values that leftist teachers are inculcating in America’s youth today.]

This is how it starts. On November 20, a mob of 400 students rioted at Hillcrest High School hunting down a Jewish teacher for going to a pro-Israel rally, threatening violence, destroying property, and forcing the teacher to hide inside a locked office to protect her life. As antisemitic hate crimes are on the rise in New York City, the Hillcrest HS pogrom broke out just days after a citywide pro-Palestinian walkout of hundreds of students calling for ceasefire, cursing the Jews, burning Israeli flags, and warning those who support Israel, “your days are numbered.”

Students were always at the forefront of Communist, Fascist, and Nazi movements of the past. We haven’t learned our history. Hitler was a minor figure in Munich in 1923 but rose to power in 10 years to become the Chancellor of Germany, and led the Nazi Party to impose its will with astonishing ease on Germany, the most highly civilized nation in Europe at the time, leading the population to willingly participate in institutionalized mass murder of nearly every single Jew in Europe. The sudden rise of Hitler, the atrocities of World War II, and the Holocaust did not happen in a vacuum. The precursor to Nazism and the Third Reich were the student led riots and pogroms attacking and tormenting Jews throughout Germany. This was the direct result of decades of indoctrination in racial nationalism in schools and universities, that Aryans were a pureblooded “blond, blue-eyed” master race and Jews were vermin, unfit to live. The fired-up students viewed Jews as outsiders, parasites, and evil moneylenders, that had to be wiped out, and they rioted targeting the Jews of Germany.

Kids today are carrying the torch for the far left. The same horrific hatred and antisemitism is rearing its ugly head again empowered by our weak, feckless government all the way from President Biden, Governor Hochul, Mayor Adams down to Schools Chancellor Banks.  Just like Germany in 1933, under the unstable Weimar Republic, our government today is hopeless to put an end to the antisemitic persecution and save the Jews. After the Weimar Republic, came the death camps. Saying “Never Again” requires an understanding of history.

Just like Nazi Germany, these radicalized young people are the product of decades of anti-American, anti-Israel, and Marxist indoctrination in the classroom, now known as critical race theory, or in Orwellian terms, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).  These kids are the same radicalized leftists who burned down the major cities of America, toppled statues, looted businesses, and injured hundreds of police officers in the Geroge Floyd riots, only today as one commentator put it, they wear keffiyehs. For these radicalized kids, who grew up schooled in CRT, rather than critical thinking, the settler-colonialist oppressor Israel is committing genocide against the helpless victims, the Palestinians.

Immediate Actions that Need to be Taken:

Expel radicalized student ringleaders to stop antisemitic hate. We call for action to hold those responsible public officials accountable for the antisemitic student riot, starting with New York City Schools Chancellor David Banks and the administrators of Hillcrest High School. The mob of 400 rioters was led by possibly 5 to 10 ringleaders who were directly responsible for inciting the mayhem. We call on Hillcrest principal Scott Milczewski, Chancellor Banks and the DOE to identify and expel these 10 or so ringleaders. Criminally charged ones over 18 for harassment and hate crimes. Expulsion, not restorative justice or temporary suspension is the way to set an example to the rest of the student body of the city to prevent further mob violence and potential antisemitism.

End the far left control of the UFT. The union is responsible for supporting the safety and welfare of its teachers, and historically has done so. However, the UFT and its president Michael Mulgrew were silent on protecting this tormented Jewish teacher. The UFT is terrified of its far left wing and chooses silence so as not to offend them.  The Movement of Rank-and-File Educators, a caucus of the New York City UFT, is a group of radical Marxist, anti-American teachers in control of the UFT, who have co-sponsored pro-Hamas rallies along with Democratic Socialists (DSA). We call on President Mulgrew to do his job, visit Hillcrest HS and speak up on behalf of his embattled teacher to ensure her safety and constitutional rights are protected. There certainly would be a vocal outcry if the same happened to any teacher of another racial group. He must insist on an addition to DOE policy, the protection of Jewish teachers from harm in every school, and the protection of their constitutional free speech rights and religious liberty. A teacher who chooses to attend a pro-Israel rally should be free from harm and fear.

Teach history so we aren’t doomed to repeat it. We call on every high school in NYC as a requirement to spend one week studying the history of antisemitism and the Holocaust.  This was a required part of the World History curriculum, but nowadays, the study of this fundamental pillar of our history education has been abandoned, and the consequences are alarming.  We learn history as the expression goes, so as not to be doomed to repeat it. Give our kids this essential background before they riot and attack Jewish teachers and fellow students out of ignorance amplified by youthful passion.

Fire Chancellor Banks Immediately. Overall, Chancellor Banks has been unsuccessful in improving our failing school system, but now he is guilty of dereliction of duty for his week-long silence after the student riot.  Only after the story “Queens HS Chaos” appeared in the NY Post did he break his silence and hold a hollow press conference. He stated, “This notion that this place, these kids are radicalized and antisemitic is the height of irresponsibility,” essentially scoffing at the urgency of confronting violent antisemitism and concern for teacher’s safety. He further excused the student mob’s hate and havoc, saying that they “feel a kindred spirit with the folks of the Palestinian community. This is a very visceral and emotional issue for them.” He downplayed the seriousness of the issue, saying the teacher was safe, as if to say the Nazi’s don’t really intend to hurt the Jews. He said that this is a “teachable moment” and that the kids should openly talk about it. But it is madness to allow the kids to speak their minds freely as they do daily on TikTok without adequate background knowledge. These kids need to learn history first to dispel the dark clouds of ignorance. Bank’s solution is the folly of restorative justice, instead of suspension, but a good chancellor would summarily expel the ringleaders and protect the safety and constitutional free speech rights of his teachers. Every teacher’s constitutional freedoms, of speech, religion, and assembly, should be protected like that of any citizen, which Banks has failed to do. Banks is totally incompetent and unfit for the job. He has to go.

Fire Hillcrest Principal Scott Milczewski Immediately. Principal Milczewski’s foremost job is the safety and security of his teachers and students, and in that regard he has failed miserably.  He was silent after his student’s destructive rioting until the media and chancellor came to shine the spotlight on his school a week later.  He knew there were problems brewing and did nothing to stop them. In fact, he was informed by the Jewish teacher before the riot occurred that she could be targeted. A week earlier, school safety agents were violently attacked by four students, and a day after the riot, an 18-year-old student was arrested for making threats of widespread harm and charged with aggravated harassment. With all this chaos in his school, the principal failed to protect the safety and constitutional rights of a teacher, whose life was threatened, and feared for her safety at school, therefore Principal Milczewski needs to be fired.

Shut Down Hillcrest HS. The high school needs to be shuttered until the safety of all students, teachers, custodial staff, medical team, lunchroom workers, and school safety officers are totally secured. Shut down the school and send the kids to other schools. There is no plan. You can’t deploy 50 cops to patrol the building forever.  The school can’t open after a riot of this magnitude until there is a plan in place to discipline the 400 student rioters and ensure the safety of all.

The sabotage of our schools and the youth of America by the radical left has taken place over 60 years. We can’t expect to instantly take back our schools and our country’s institutions after the notorious leftwing “long march through the institutions” has been successfully completed. But this is the start of a counter-revolution. The antisemitic riot at Hillcrest HS was very similar to the German pogroms, or violent attacks on Jews throughout Germany in the 19th century. They were led by angry student mobs shouting “Hep! Hep!” meaning “Jerusalem is destroyed.” They studied in the finest German schools and universities where they were incited to violence by radical indoctrination in the classroom to philosophies of German nationalist supremacy treating Jews as parasites and vermin living off their generous European hosts. This was a precursor to National Socialist (Nazi) ideology and the Holocaust.

History is doomed to repeat itself unless we learn our lessons, and start the counter-revolution immediately by stopping the spread of virulent antisemitism here and now. This is our Never Again moment.

Hamas’ Child Hostages

The ancient horrors have returned.

For at least two generations, Israelis have felt secure in the knowledge that the horrors of the Holocaust were behind them. Safe behind border walls and protected by a powerful military, Jews in Israel would never again have to watch as children were murdered in front of their parents, and parents in front of their children.

October 7 changed all that – dramatically.

The Hamas-led killing spree of that day brought Hitler’s willing executions through the gates of Israel. Suddenly, nowhere was safe anymore.

I have spent the past week in Israel, researching a film on Israel Defense Force (IDF) soldiers with filmmaker Ricky Schroder and his producer, Julie Trammel.

From the very moment I arrived, the presence of the missing – Israelis ripped from their homes by Hamas terrorists – was everywhere. The broad stairs leading down to immigration at Ben Gurion airport were marked with the faces of the missing – on both sides of the hall. On some of the hundred-plus steps, the poster had been taken down to indicate hostages who had been released after more than fifty days of captivity.

By the time I left five days later, the gaps were bigger, as more returnees came home. But more than 136 remained by the time Hamas broke the temporary truce on December 1.

On Ditzengoff Street, one of the main thoroughfares of Tel Aviv, human-sized white teddy bears were strapped to every park bench, their bodies spattered with dirt and blood. Attached to each was a poster of one of the missing.

In Jerusalem, office buildings were lit up with the Israeli flag and holographic projections of the missing, rotating every few seconds.

During that week, we began to learn more about the horrors the hostages had undergone during their Hamas captivity.

Israel’s first lady, Michal Hertzog, revealed that young women had been so brutally raped that their pelvic bones were broken.

Boys and young men were branded – not with a number, as in the Nazi camps – but marked indelibly with hot motorcycle exhaust pipes, so they would be recognizable in case they managed to escape, as some did.

Children were given food and water intermittently and threatened with weapons if they dared to open their mouths. “When I first saw them returning in the helicopters they looked like shadows, not children,” said Dr. Efrat Harlev, CEO of the Schneider Children’s Center where many of the child returnees are being treated for trauma. “They would ask us if they could open the window, or open the drawer, or take a shower,” still fearful of their Hamas captors.

Most children lost ten to fifteen percent of their body weight. Dr. Harlev told the story of two sisters, 15 and 8 years old. “The older one decided how much to eat so she could save food for her younger sister. Sometimes she would not eat for days.”

Even in the hospital, many children picked at their food, telling doctors they had to save it for later. “The last time I read about that happening was eighty years ago, before Jews had a state,” Dr Harlev said on Monday.

One twelve-year old boy, strapped to the back of a motorbike by his captors, was welcomed by a crowd in Gaza and beaten with clubs, sticks, fists, and bats. Another twelve-year old, Eitan Yahalomi, was kept alone in a closed room for sixteen days and beaten regularly by his captors.

Moved to a second location, Eitan and other children were forced by Hamas to watch videos of the atrocities they committed on October 7, according to former Knesset member Dov Lipman. All were told that no one was looking for them, that there was no Israel, no place for them to return. “Hamas was psychologically harassing them on a daily basis,” Dr. Harlev said.

It is well-documented that Hamas used United Nations schools as arms depots and training centers. But they also called on United Nations employees to guard and house hostages, including a Gaza teacher.

Those UN schools, operated by UNWRA, have indoctrinated generations of Palestinians to hate Jews and vow Israel’s destruction. If nothing else, the U.S. and the European Union should take control of UNWRA, fire the Hamas teachers and reform the curriculum, to ensure it returns to its core mission of educating children to live in peace with their neighbors.

We will learn more about the horrors these hostages endured in the days and weeks to come. So far, no military-age men have been released. No one really knows if they are even alive.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the nation the day after the truce and the hostage-swaps expired with these moving words:

“Citizens of Israel,” he began. “’Whoever saves one life, it is as if he has saved the entire world.’ Last week, we rescued many worlds. We returned 110 souls to Israel. We freed 86 Israeli citizens – children, women, young people, mothers and grandmothers, as well as dozens of foreign nationals. The entire nation and many around the world held their breath as they followed each release.

“The boys and girls and young people whom we returned home: Raz, Aviv, Hila, Alma, Noam, Emma, Yuli, Emilia, Avigail, Emily, Gali,Amit, Eitan, Nava. Yahel, Noam, Ohad, Uriah, Yuval, Ofri, Erez, Mia, Noga, Ofir, Dafna, Ela, Tal, Agam, Gal, Or, Yagli, Itay, Maya, Bilal, Aisha, Uri, Natali, Mika, Liam – and many others whom we have released.

“These are not just names but souls of boys and girls that we brought back home, we brought them back to life. We will be with them and look after them. I embrace them on behalf of all of you, citizens of Israel: Welcome to those who have left the horrors, welcome back home.

“The Psalmist writes (142:8): ‘Take my soul out of confinement.’ We have taken them out of confinement, from darkness to light, from slavery to redemption.”

These were exactly the right words for the Prime Minister to utter. As someone who has been held hostage, they touched me to my core, because that is exactly what liberation felt like, being dragged out of darkness into the light.

The long war to secure Israel’s borders and eradicate Hamas as an organized force has begun. Many will seek to tie Israel’s hands, but they will not be restrained. Should the Prime Minister or anyone in his cabinet suggest that Israel should enter ceasefire talks – not the temporary pauses of the hostage exchanges, but an actual, lasting ceasefire that allows Hamas to fight another day – they would face a mutiny among the ranks of the IDF.

The ancient horrors – the horrors Israelis thought would never happen again – have returned and the weight of that realization is just beginning to sink in.

When Palestinians gloated before October 7 that they want “to finish what Hitler started,” liberals in the West and in Israel just shrugged their shoulders.

Today, leftists in Israel, at least, know that Hamas means it.

Heard on the Street: Hamas Leaders Made Billions from October 7 Attack

Imagine the high old time those Hamas killers had on October 7. Not only could they have fun beheading babies, burning children alive, raping, torturing, and murdering girls, gouging out the eyes, and cutting off the genitalia, of men, and slicing off the breasts of women, murdering parents in front of their children and children in front of their parents. They could also take videos of each other in “can you top this” mode as they thought up something still more savage to inflict on their victims, and share a good-humored laugh about it all with their pals, as they carried back to Gaza not just men to be tormented and girls passed around as sex slaves, but also some severed heads as trophies. But as if all that weren’t fun enough, there was even more pleasure to be experienced by the Hamas leaders in Doha — and perhaps by their paymasters in Tehran as well — who made billions of dollars off the blood-soaked savagery of their frenzied bezonians, as spooked stock markets plummeted downward just as soon as the news broke of the Hamas attack. Here’s the latest news on how Hamas insiders made, in every sense, a killing: “‘Informed Traders’ May Have Profited From Oct. 7 Massacre With Advance Stock Market Activity, Study Finds,” by Troy O. Fritzhand, Algemeiner, December 4, 2023:

Stock traders may have profited massively off the Hamas terror group’s Oct. 7 massacre across southern Israel by using advanced knowledge of the onslaught to short sell Israeli companies in the days leading up to the surprise invasion, according to a new study by US researchers.

The study — titled “Trading on Terror?” — was published in the SSRN journal by Robert J. Jackson, Jr. of the New York University School of Law and Joshua Mitts of Columbia Law School. The researchers concluded that traders who apparently had prior knowledge of the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks made billions of dollars.

“Informed traders increasingly disguise trades in economically linked securities such as exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Linking that work to longstanding literature on financial markets’ reactions to military conflict, we document a significant spike in short selling in the principal Israeli-company ETF days before the Oct. 7 Hamas attack,” the study stated. “Our findings suggest that traders informed about the coming attacks profited from these tragic events, and consistent with prior literature we show that trading of this kind occurs in gaps in US and international enforcement of legal prohibitions on informed trading.”

The researchers noted that short selling on Oct. 7 “far exceeded” the short selling that occurred during other recent periods of crisis, such as the Great Recession of 2007-2009, the 2014 Gaza war, and the COVID-19 pandemic. The study added that there was no major rise in short selling before the Israeli government passed controversial judicial reform legislation in July, after which stock prices dropped.

However, “we identify increases in short selling before the [Oct. 7] attack in dozens of Israeli companies traded in Tel Aviv,” the paper said. “For one Israeli company alone, 4.43 million new shares sold short over the Sept. 14 to Oct. 5 period yielded profits (or avoided losses) of 3.2 billion NIS on that additional short sale.

Short selling is when a trader borrows shares and sells them, hoping the price will then fall so they can buy them back for cheaper [sic].

“Although we see no aggregate increase in shorting of Israeli companies on US exchanges, we do identify a sharp and unusual increase, just before the attacks, in trading in risky short-dated options on these companies expiring just after the attacks,” the study found. “We identify similar patterns in the Israeli ETF at times when it was reported that Hamas was planning to execute a similar attack as in October.”

One of the biggest days of short selling occurred on Oct. 2. Given how “unusual” their findings were, the researchers wrote it was “extremely unlikely that the volume of short selling on Oct. 2 occurred by random chance.”…

Taken together, this evidence indicates that the volume of short selling observed over the days immediately prior to the Hamas attack was extraordinarily high and unlikely to have been explained by bona fide market making, because that should have been accompanied by high volumes of purchases to offset those short sales — if not on the same day, certainly very quickly,” the study found. “Otherwise, the market maker would be exposed to directional movements in the stock price.”

Just three leaders of Hamas have over the years stolen eleven billion dollars in foreign aid meant for the people of Gaza: Ismail Haniyeh and Mousa Abu Marzouk both have fortunes of $4 billion, and Khaled Meshaal clings to his $3 billion. But if they could make another few billion by shorting Israeli stocks just before October 7 — or even other stocks, too, such as those that make up the S & P 500, because they not merely knew about, but had planned the October 7 attack — hey, why not? What’s not to like?

Hamas jihadis had ‘a thing with sexual organs’ and targeted genitalia of Israeli victims

Why? Primarily in order to “strike terror in the enemies of Allah” (Qur’an 8:60), and to humiliate those who they hated. But also because Islam exalts sexual activity as essentially the highest good a human being can attain, since it is what the blessed will be engaging in forever in paradise. As far as they’re concerned, to destroy one’s ability to engage in it is to strike at the most precious aspect of humanity.

“Hamas terrorists had ‘a thing with sexual organs’ and targeted genitalia of Israeli victims: UN testimony,” by Yaron Steinbuch, New York Post, December 5, 2023:

Barbaric Hamas terrorists had “a thing with sexual organs’’ and targeted the genitalia of male and female victims during their Oct. 7 attack on Israel, according to harrowing United Nations testimony Monday.

Some of the fiends’ unspeakable acts involved a murdered woman found with “nails and different objects in her female organs” and a gang-rape victim who had one of her breasts cut off — with her attackers then playing with it on the road, Israel said.

There were “horrific things I saw with my own eyes and I felt with my own hands,” said stricken Simcha Greinman, a volunteer who helped collect the remains of the slaughtered victims, according to the New York Times.

The Jewish state accused the UN during a special session of moving too slowly to address reports that the terror group unleashed sexual violence as a weapon of war in its attack, NBC News reported.

“This was premeditated. This was planned. This was instructed,” Israeli UN Ambassador Gilad Erdan said at the session, held at the UN’s Manhattan headquarters, according to All Israel News.

“Sadly, the very international bodies that are supposedly the defenders of all women showed that when it comes to Israelis, indifference is acceptable,” he said.

“To these organizations, Israeli women are not women, the rape of Israelis is not an act of rape. "Their silence has been deafening,” he added, referring to UN groups and the international community.

About 800 people, including Jewish groups and diplomats from dozens of countries, attended the presentation, which laid out evidence of large-scale sexual violence.

A female police officer said in video testimony played at the event that during the sneak attack, “shooting was targeted at sexual organs,” adding, “We saw that a lot,” All Israel reported.

“The women we received, they were civilian. … We mainly saw either breast amputations or gunshots just to the breast, simply shooting from one side of the breast to the other,” another female cop said.

“As for men, they were also shot in their genitalia,” she added.

One of the officers said, “They had a thing with sexual organs — both in women and in men, either amputation or targeted shooting [to that part of the body],” the Messenger reported.

Shari Mendes, a member of an Israel Defense Forces reserve unit in charge of identifying and preparing the bodies of female soldiers for burial, also testified that she saw “systematic genital mutilation,” according to All Israel.

A female survivor of the attack on a musical festival where hundreds of people were massacred described how a woman was raped during the atrocity.

“I remember how [one attacker] shifted her position, then passed her on to another person,” she recalled in the video testimony.

“She was alive. … She was standing. … She was bleeding from her back. … She had long hair, and he was pulling it. … She wasn’t dressed. … He cut her breast. "He threw it on the road, and they played with it,” the woman recounted in the gruesome testimony.

Israeli national police Superintendent Yael Richert, who presented the sickening accounts, said, “Everything was an apocalypse of corpses — girls without any clothes on, without tops, without underwear, people cut in half, butchered, some were beheaded.”…

Muslim Lives Matter. Jewish Lives Don’t

Attacks on Muslims and Jews are treated very differently.

On Nov 5, Paul Kessler, a 69-year-old Jewish man, was killed at a pro-Israel rally in California.

A pro-Hamas protester had previously displayed guns to intimidate the pro-Israel ralliers. While Kessler lay bleeding on the ground, the Muslim protesters chanted, “Hitler should’ve smashed you ” and threats of violence from Hamas. The media reported none of this, instead describing the killing of Kessler as an accident. Once the killer was arrested, CNN did not interview Paul’s friends, but quoted claims that his Muslim assailant was really a “man of peace.”

Few local officials, no state officials and certainly no one in the Biden administration said a word.

On November 25, three Arab Muslim men were shot in Burlington, VT, during a confrontation with Jason James Eaton, a mentally unstable Biden supporter described as “the hippie guy.”

Even though Eaton had denounced “Amerika” as “imperialist and corrupt,” was not Jewish, had no apparent interest in Middle East politics or Israel, politicians and the media without a single shred of evidence claimed that the wounded Muslim men who identified as ‘Palestinian’ had been targeted because of Israel’s campaign against Hamas and an imaginary ‘Islamophobia’.

Paul Kessler’s killer was not arrested at the scene and was not arrested at all until ten days later. Bail was initially set for him at $1 million, which was cut to $50,000, and he’s out on the street.

Eaton was arrested by agents of the ATF, a federal agency, and is being held without bail. The FBI and “several other federal, state, and local agencies” are investigating the shooting of the three Muslim men. No such investigation was tracked for Kessler’s death in California.

While Biden did not comment on the killing of Paul Kessler, Biden issued a statement about the wounding of the Muslim men, declaring that, “there is absolutely no place for violence or hate in America” implying without evidence that there had been some hateful motive in the altercation.

Kamala Harris, who had made no statement about Paul Kessler’s killing, even though it took place in her home state, claimed that “far too many people live with the fear that they could be targeted and attacked based on their beliefs or who they are.”

Governor Phil Scott, Senator Peter Welch, Senator Bernie Sanders and numerous other public officials also issued statements. So did multiple senators who aren’t even from Vermont.

Sen. Welch condemned “hate and Islamophobia” and claimed that the “conflict in the Middle East has brought an alarming spike in Islamophobic incidents across the United States.”

The same media outlets that had minimized or ignored Paul Kessler’s death launched a full-court press promotional campaign for the Burlington shootings. NBC News deployed a live blog site to cover a few seconds of violence that quickly ended with Eaton’s arrest. NBC shared a photo of one of the Muslim men, who is 20 years old, as an 11-year-old boy.

NBC News provided a platform for Muslim men and their Islamic allies to blame Israel for the shooting and promote the terrorist cause. This was not a privilege provided to the dozen black people shot in Chicago around the same time.

Brown University President Christina H. Paxson claimed, falsely and without evidence, that the shooting was “latest evidence of anti-Arab and anti-Palestinian discrimination and hate spiraling across this country and around the world”. Despite that, she was booed off the stage at a ‘vigil’ for not agreeing to boycott the Jewish State. Then a professor read a letter from the injured Muslim man claiming falsely that Israel would have shot him and left him to die.

The vast difference between how Paul Kessler’s killing and the wounding of the Muslim men were treated is a microcosm of political bias and media narratives. The media rushed to cover up the Burlington shootings, but rushed to cover up Paul Kessler’s death. Politicians issued statements about what happened to the Muslim men, but not about what happened to Paul.

The attack on Paul was indisputably motivated by hatred for Jews. It came in the context of support for the mass murder of Jews and chants about Hitler. Yet the media has refused to discuss any of that. It has, however, covered non-stop an altercation in which the motive is unclear, as if it were demonstrably occasioned by hostility to Arabs, Muslims or “Palestinians.”

This is not anecdotal: it’s part of an ugly pattern of political and media double standards.

Since the Hamas massacres of Oct 7, there has been a 400% increase in antisemitic incidents and on campuses, 73% of Jewish and 44% of non-Jewish students described witnessing antisemitism. But those are just statistics. What does it look like on the ground?

On the eve of the anniversary of Kristallnacht, the Museum of Tolerance screened footage of the Hamas atrocities, and was descended upon by a pro-terrorist mob that justified the violence. Members of the Jewish community were assaulted by the pro-Hamas mob. Neither the media nor local officials condemned one of the most brazen antisemitic campaigns in American history.

Mayor Karen Bass reposted a media report misleadingly describing a scene in which “two groups outside LA’s Museum of Tolerance” clashed and condemned “unacceptable violence” rather than the equivalent of the KKK showing up in a black neighborhood. No public official, to my knowledge, issued a statement condemning the attack on a Holocaust museum on the anniversary of Kristalnacht. Some of those officials, including DA George Gascon, listed endorsements from the hate groups behind the attack. Some of the leftists responsible have since targeted another Holocaust museum in the Los Angeles area with pro-terrorist rallies.

In another part of Los Angeles, Daniel Garcia, a leftist activist, broke into the home of a Jewish family and threatened to kill them, “because you are Jewish… Israel kill people.” As he was being arrested, he went on shouting, “Free Palestine” and “Brown Lives Matter”.

Despite his long history of leftist activism, which included working as a field organizer on the Bernie Sanders campaign and serving on the boards of multiple leftist groups, the official word was that he was suffering from mental illness. And that it was not a political act.

In reality, Garcia has a long history of posting anti-Israel material on social media. After being released, he went on posting it including videos from terrorists attacking Israel. His social media, with its BDS videos, Islamic propaganda, Norman Finkelstein clips and the rest of it is easily publicly accessible. No one in the media has bothered to report on it. And it will stay that way.

The Left has not even broken ties with Garcia in the aftermath of his attack on a Jewish family.

Attacks on Jews and Muslims are treated very differently for political reasons. Unless the attacks on Jews are carried out by far-right perpetrators, they are ignored and buried. When they are carried out by Muslims or anti-Israel leftists, they’re covered up, not reported on.

A Muslim can kill a Jewish man in broad daylight and the media will try to minimize it. Leftists and Muslims can attack a Holocaust museum on the anniversary of one of the most infamous dates in the Holocaust, and politicians and the media will call it a “both sides” problem. And a Leftist calling for the murder of Jews and ‘free Palestine” can invade a Jewish family’s home and it will strictly be a local crime story. But when there is any incident involving Muslims, it automatically becomes front page news regardless of how little evidence there is to it.

Anything that bolsters the ‘Islamophobia’ narrative and the claim that Muslims are the victims is always in demand.

On Oct 23, Hesham A. Ayyad claimed that a driver hit him with a car while shouting, “kill all Palestinians,”and “long live Israel.” CAIR demanded that the police and the FBI “collect all the information they need to charge this individual with a hate crime.” Vox quickly picked it up. So did other media outlets. Police however found he had been beaten up by his brother.

Vox has yet to correct its story, which still lists it among other “Islamophobic” crimes caused by Israel’s war against Hamas.

Why did Paul Kessler’s killer think he could get away with it? And why have there been so many open attacks on Jews, especially on college campuses, in the past month? Because politicians and the media have shown that some lives matter more than others. Jewish lives don’t matter.

Only Muslim lives do.

U.S. Prosecutors Charge 4 Russian Soldiers For Abducting, Torturing American In Ukraine

U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland speaks during a press conference at the U.S. Department of Justice on December 6, 2023 in Washington, DC. The Department of Justice announced today that four Russian military personnel have been indicted for war crimes committed against a U.S. national living in Ukraine, the first of such charges ever to be brought under the U.S. war crimes statute. The Justice Department said on Wednesday that U.S. federal prosecutors have charged four Russian soldiers with war crimes after it was discovered that the men allegedly kidnapped and tortured an American citizen in Ukraine, immediately after Russia’s incursion.

Three war crimes were brought against the soldiers—two commanding officers and two lower-ranking soldiers—for allegedly abusing the U.S. resident in Ukraine. The two low-ranking members were identified simply by their first names, Valerii and Nazar, while the commanding leaders were named as Suren Seiranovich Mkrtchyan and Dmitry Budnik.

According to the Justice Department, each defendant faces charges of wrongful detention, torture, and inhumane treatment, in addition to one count of conspiracy to commit war crimes.

Attorney General Merrick Garland made a statement at the Justice Department on Tuesday, stating that the charges—which were made possible by federal legislation from 1996 that made violations of the Geneva Conventions illegal—were presented in an indictment in the Eastern District of Virginia.

The men are not in American custody.

“These charges, against four Russia-affiliated military personnel, are the Justice Department’s first criminal charges under the U.S. war crimes statute. "They are also an important step toward accountability for the Russian regime’s illegal war in Ukraine,” Garland said. “Our work is far from done.”

The unidentified victim was allegedly taken by Mkrtchyan and his men in April 2022 from the village of Mylove in the southern Ukrainian region of Kherson Oblast. The Justice Department claims they assaulted him and placed him in an unlawful detention facility for ten days.

Some of the Russian men, according to officials, either led or took part in the interrogation sessions, during which they tortured the victim, removing his clothing, taking pictures, and abusing him.

The accused “threw [the victim] face down to the ground while he was naked, tied his hands behind his back, pointed a gun at his head, and beat him with their feet, their fists, and the stocks of their guns,” wrote prosecutors in the 9-page indictment.

Prosecutors highlighted one particularly violent session, when Budnik “threatened the victim with death and asked him for his last words.”

The victim was subsequently taken outside by Nazar and others.

“There, they forced him to the ground and put a gun to the back of his head. The victim believed he was about to be killed. They moved the gun just before pulling the trigger, and the bullet went just past his head,” Garland asserted. “After the mock execution, the victim was beaten and interrogated again.”

According to the charging documents, the unidentified victim had neither fought nor taken part in the war and had been residing in Ukraine since 2021.

The Justice Department has established a War Crimes Accountability Team to look into possible war crimes in Ukraine that could be prosecuted in the United States as part of its assistance in the investigation of Russian service members. Additionally, U.S. investigators are helping Ukrainian officials collect and record proof of Russian atrocities.

‘Human Rights’ Groups Seem to Be OK With Hamas Raping Women

AP Photo/Yuki Iwamura
"Where the hell are you?" asked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of human rights groups and women's organizations that have maintained a nauseating silence about the use of rape by Hamas as a weapon of war.

"I say to the women’s rights organizations, to the human rights organizations, you’ve heard of the rape of Israeli women, horrible atrocities, sexual mutilation? Where the hell are you?”

Netanyahu met with the families of freed hostages, where he heard stories of horrible atrocities committed by Hamas against Israeli women.

“I heard heartbreaking stories of abuse,” he said. “I heard, as you have heard, about sexual abuse and unprecedented cases of cruel rape.”

U.S. President Joe Biden also called out the international community for maintaining its silence in the face of horrible atrocities.

“Reports of women raped — repeatedly raped — and their bodies being mutilated while still alive — of [women's] corpses being desecrated, Hamas terrorists inflicting as much pain and suffering on women and girls as possible and then murdering them." It is appalling,” he said.

You should be aware that the following accounts of some of the atrocities in the New York Times are extremely graphic.

The body of one woman had “nails and different objects in her female organs.” In another house, a person’s genitals were so mutilated that “we couldn’t identify if it was a man or a woman.”

Simcha Greinman, a volunteer who helped collect the remains of victims of the Hamas-led Oct. 7 assault on Israel, took long pauses as he spoke those words on Monday at an event at the United Nations.

“Horrific things I saw with my own eyes,” he said, “and I felt with my own hands.”

“The world can’t just look away at what’s going on. It’s on all of us — government, international organizations, civil society and businesses — to forcefully condemn the sexual violence of Hamas terrorists without equivocation. "Without equivocation, without exception,” Biden added.

But "the world" is looking away. And the silence is sickening.

It took eight weeks for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to issue a condemnation of Hamas for committing sexual atrocities against Israeli men and women. Then, 57 days after the brutal Hamas attacks, the women’s rights group UN Women released a statement condemning the events of October 7.

“We unequivocally condemn the brutal attacks by Hamas on Israel on 7 October. "We are alarmed by the numerous accounts of gender-based atrocities and sexual violence during those attacks,” the statement continued.

The women weren't the only Israelis targeted for rape.

Associated Press:

Some of the recently released hostages shared testimonies of sexual abuse during their time in Gaza, participants said.

Separately, a doctor who treated some of the 110 released hostages told the AP that at least 10 men and women among those freed were sexually assaulted or abused, but did not provide further details. He spoke on condition of anonymity to protect the hostages’ identities.

There is testimony by dozens of women of horrific abuse and rape, but some left-wing Americans are demanding more proof of the rapes of Israeli women.

Briahna Joy Gray, a former Bernie Sanders press secretary, not only wants more evidence, but she claims no female victims have given testimony. CNN writer Jean Philipovic had a terse response to that point.

And what about rape kits, Zionists?

The pertinent fact is that the UN took nearly two months to mention the sexual violence against women. The statements rang hollow for women who have virtually been abandoned by those who claim to represent their cause.
