Biden is Blocking Israeli Ground Assault on Hamas

U.S. and European governments have joined to put pressure on Israel.

Some are wondering why Israel hasn’t begun the ground assault on Hamas yet. The answer is in Washington D.C.

After the Hamas atrocities, Israel went on a full war footing. 300,000 Israelis have been evacuated from front-line areas and the IDF mobilized 300,000 troops. Those are people who are not with their families or working, some flew in from abroad. This makes Israel one of the most mobilized nations in the world. But it can’t keep that up forever.

But instead of going in, everyone is waiting because D.C. and the EU want to hold off an assault on Hamas.

U.S. and European governments have joined to put pressure on Israel to hold off on its ground invasion of Gaza to allow more time to win the release of hostages held by Hamas, U.S. and foreign officials said.

Several countries have been trying to leverage their contacts with Hamas to press the militant group to release the hostages taken during their onslaught on Israel earlier this month. One U.S. official had said that Qatar’s government had been very helpful on the matter but noted the difficulties of reaching an agreement given Israel’s bombardment of Gaza and the spiraling humanitarian crisis there.

Qatar is a state sponsor of Hamas. It’s harboring Hamas leaders. Before the Hamas attack on Israel, Qatar very helpfully negotiated a truce.

And now that the U.S. and the EU have made it clear that they can stop Israel from taking out Hamas as leverage for the hostages, Hamas has no reason to release the hostages.

Those hostages are the only reason IDF soldiers aren’t in Gaza City right now.

Rather than securing their release, they’ve made them more valuable as hostages.

What did Hamas buy with the release of two female American hostages? The conviction by D.C. diplomats that they can get more released if they just spend more time negotiating with Hamas.

The United States is pressing Israel to hold off on a ground invasion of Gaza to allow for more time for hostage negotiations, according to a CNN report published Sunday.

“The [administration] pressed Israeli leadership to delay because of progress on the hostage front,” a person familiar with the U.S.-Israel talks told the cable network, one of two sources it cited in its report.

Asked on Meet the Press on Sunday about the U.S. delaying a possible ground incursion by Israel into Gaza, Secretary of State Antony Blinken sidestepped the question, but said they are not “second guessing” their ally.

On Saturday, President Joe Biden responded to a question about delaying a potential ground incursion by telling reporters: “I’m talking to the Israelis.”

It’s in Hamas’ interests to appear reasonable but to hang on to enough hostages to slow any Israeli action.

And Hamas is doing just that with the able assistance of its useful idiots in D.C. and Europe.

“Hamas does not appear to have gotten anything concrete out of the Friday release of Americans Judith Tai Raanan and her 17-year-old daughter, Natalie Raanan,” CNN claims.

Hamas has gotten Israel to delay a ground assault. How much more concrete can you get?

UC Davis Professor Makes Death Threats to Jewish Journalists and Their Children, Remains On Faculty

Jemma Decristo is an assistant professor at UC Davis, who has called for violence against “Zionist” journalists and their children — it appears she means not just Israeli citizens, but Jews everywhere who support Israel as well. More on her grotesque threats can be found here: “US Professor Remains on University Staff After Tweet Threatening Jewish Journalists, Their Children,” by Dion J. Pierre, Algemeiner, October 20, 2023:

The University of California (UC) Davis has kept a professor on staff after she appeared to call for violence against Jewish journalists and their children following the Hamas terror group’s massacre of over 1,400 people in Israel, mostly civilians, earlier this month.

Jemma Decristo, an assistant professor in American studies at UC Davis, made the apparent threat on X/Twitter on Oct. 10, three days after Hamas invaded Israel.

One group of ppl [sic] we have easy access to in the US is all these Zionist journalists who spread propaganda & misinformation,” Decristo wrote. “They have houses [with] addresses, kids in school. They can fear their bosses, but they should fear us more.” The message was followed by images of a knife, an axe, and three blood-drop emojis.

Her threat is unmistakable and unnerving. It is this: “We who support the Palestinians know where the Zionist journalists live, we know where their kids go to school. They can’t hide from us, and should be very very worried.” And then her message of violence ends with images of a knife, an axe, and drops of blood.

UC Davis Chancellor Gary May disavowed Decristo’s comments in a statement issued on Thursday.

“I absolutely condemn the posts attributed to a UC Davis faculty member that recently appeared on the social media platform X. I find the comments revolting in every way, and I disagree wholeheartedly with them,” May said. “UC Davis rejects all forms of violence and discrimination, as they are antithetical to the values of our university. We strive to foster a climate of equity and justice built on mutual understanding and respect for all members of the community.”

May noted, however, that the professor remains on staff as the university investigates the matter.

We can confirm that the provost will refer this matter to the appropriate campus departments that investigate harassment, discrimination, and faculty conduct, in consultation with legal counsel regarding First Amendment rights,” he said. “Some have asked why this faculty member continues to be employed at UC Davis. The University of California system has specific procedures for the review of complaints of faculty misconduct consistent with university-wide policies and bylaws. The status of complaints lodged against faculty members are confidential personnel matters, so we are unable to publicly comment on the steps we are taking.”

Decristo does not have tenure. She could be terminated for cause without much ado. What cause? Making antisemitic death threats in the wake of the mass murder of Jews in Israel should be more than enough to qualify as “faculty misconduct.” After all, if Decristo had made death threats, instead, to “black journalists” or to “Muslim journalists” or “LGBTQ journalists,” does anyone think she would still be on campus, and still have her job? But when it is “Zionist journalists” who are being threatened, the UC Davis administrators think that she should remain in her job, not even be placed on administrative leave, until — now comes the bureaucratese — there can be a “review of complaints of faculty misconduct consistent with university-wide policies and bylaws.” How long will that take, while Assistant Professor Decristo continues to teach, continues to receive a salary provided by the taxpayers of California, continues to poison the minds of her students in American history with offhand remarks about the “colonial-settler apartheid state of Israel” and the power of Jews in the media?

Decristo, who describes herself as a “black anarchist” on X, has made her posts available only to “approved followers” following the backlash she received.

Still, Decristo hasn’t been fired, hasn’t been reprimanded, hasn’t been put on unpaid or even paid leave. And there is a strong possibility that the administrators at UC Davis, after conducting their own investigation, will pusillanimously decide that she was merely expressing an opinion and should not lose her job. They will claim, in other words, that the voicing of death threats by Decristo, and her unsubtle encouragement of others to carry out such threats, against “Jewish journalists,” do not constitute a “hate crime.” But perhaps UC Davis will do the right thing, and fire Decristo. Her continued presence on the campus creates an atmosphere of fear for Jewish students. Besides, she can always find a teaching job at Birzeit or Al-Quds universities.

Hamas Founder’s Son Says Media Too ‘Afraid’ To Label Group As Terrorists, Fearing Religious War

OAN’s Brooke Mallory
3:45 PM – Monday, October 23, 2023

Mosab Hassan Yousef, the son of a Hamas co-founder, declared on Monday that Hamas is even more dangerous than ISIS and that the mainstream media is reluctant to label the organization as terrorists and a genocidal religious movement for fear of starting a full-scale religious conflict.

“It’s their own comparison to say Hamas and ISIS because I think Hamas is a lot more dangerous,” Mosab Hassan Yousef told reporters.

“Look at the division and the global confusion because of Hamas. They brought us to our knees somehow by their brutality and their barbarism. Brutality is even understating Hamas’ acts. Hamas is a religious movement, and they are a raging religious movement against Israel. The mainstream media cannot say this, because they are afraid to ignite a religious war. And what I say, it already is. They want to annihilate the Jewish people because they are Jewish people, because they are a Jewish state,” he continued.

Yousef, who denounced Islam to become a Christian and left the terrorist organization in the 1990s to secretly work as a spy for Israel’s Shin Bet internal security agency, claimed that since Hamas is neither a political nor national movement, negotiations with them are practically impossible.

“They are driven by dark hatred toward a race, toward a nation,” he asserted.

The Islamic State, known as ISIS, has seen a significant decline in power after gaining territorial control over portions of both Syria and Iraq in the 2010s. It gained notoriety for its terrorist attacks and heinous violations of human rights against those living under its rule.

After Israel left the Gaza Strip in the 2000s, Hamas seized authority and has been in charge of the region ever since it was elected in 2006. This month, Israel declared war on Hamas following the terrorist group’s unexpected invasion and murderous spree against Jews in southern Israel.

More than 200 captives have been captured by Hamas and taken as hostages to Gaza, the territory it controls that borders Egypt and Israel.

According to Yousef, much of Hamas’s strength in withstanding an Israeli ground assault would come from its established tactic of employing “human shields.”

“They have many tunnels. They used the funds and the aid that came to Gaza, they used it to dig tunnels,” he said. “It’s very hard to deal with this style of suicidal group of fighters who basically don’t appreciate life. They actually [are] looking forward to death.”

It is feasible to eliminate Hamas, Yousef said, but it would begin with demolishing its infrastructure, obtaining information, and imposing a strangling siege.

According to the Jerusalem Post, the Israel Security Agency, often known as Shin Bet, formed a new division called NILI, which stands for “The Eternity of Israel Will Not Lie,” in Hebrew.

The new unit’s mission is to find and eliminate every individual involved in the heinous crimes. It will reportedly function independently of other command and control groups that are concentrated on removing attack cells and senior Hamas officials, the paper states.

It is also intended to deliberately target members of the Nukhba branch of Hamas, a secret commando force inside the terror group that Israel thinks was responsible for the assaults.

Republican Candidate for Arizona’s 8th Congressional District Abe Hamadeh has called on the Biden Administration to reclassify the Iranian-backed Houthi forces in Yemen as a foreign terrorist group.

“What we’re witnessing right now in the Middle East is a complete lack of diplomacy and a complete destruction of the US State Department’s initiative in the Middle East,” Hamadeh told One America News.

Hamadeh’s push came after the crew of the USS Carney shot down cruise missiles and several drones launched by Houthi forces in Yemen. Pentagon Press Secretary Air Force Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder claimed he couldn’t say “for certain” what the missiles and drones were targeting, but he said the missiles were “potentially towards targets in Israel.”

“It doesn’t surprise me that the Houthi rebels decided to fire off missiles,” Hamadeh said. “They see this huge power vacuum happening because of a lack of American leadership.”

Secretary of State Antony Blinken removed the terrorist designation from the Houthi forces after President Joe Biden took office.

“Joe Biden, the month he took office, he decided to declassify the Houtt Rebels as a terrorist organization,” Hamadeh said. “By the way, we were still getting missiles coming from them when he decided to do that.”

“Designation of a foreign terrorist organization like Hamas is a critical part in order to put pressure on these groups,” Hamadeh continued. “So other countries are able to not be trading with them, not be banking with them. It also limits military sales to them.”

Over 100 Lbs. Of Cocaine, Heroin, Fentanyl Worth Estimated $4M Discovered In BRONX, NYC Pizzeria

Following the purported seizure of over 100 pounds of cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, and other illegal narcotics from a pizzeria located in the Bronx borough of New York City, police officials accused three men of operating a drug ring out of the establishment.

The plethora of hard drugs was estimated to be worth $4 million, police said.

Authorities shared a statement on Monday, saying that the eatery, Mexzzarella Pizzeria, which is located across the street from a public elementary school, was being used as a front by accused drug traffickers Gaudencio Rosendo Perez, Zulema Cardenas Espinoza, and Alexander Samboy.

“This drug trafficking organization was cooking up more than pizza in the Bronx,” said Frank Tarentino, the special agent in charge of the DEA’s New York division.

Upon searching the pizza spot on October 19th, local, state, and federal law enforcement officials claimed to have discovered 42 kilograms of suspected cocaine, a kilogram of heroin and fentanyl, 1,000 glassine envelopes containing more fentanyl, and some Oxycodone, more large rocks of cocaine, and approximately 100 vials containing crack cocaine.

On the day of the major raid, authorities had been monitoring the trio and had observed them entering and exiting the Soundview Avenue pizzeria with backpacks and bags, according to officials.

After Samboy drove off in a silver Subaru Impreza with Connecticut registration plates, police stopped him on Metcalf Avenue. Five kilograms of cocaine branded “R2” and wrapped in black tape were then discovered by investigators during the traffic check, according to the statement.

At the restaurant, Perez and Espinoza were taken into custody by agents and task force officers. Additionally, authorities reportedly discovered a kilo press and almost $40,000 in the basement.

Authorities also stated that the men had kept the crack vials close to the pizza counter for “convenient sales.”

“The large stash of cocaine found in the basement of Mexzzarella Pizza is very significant because it had the potential to supply drug networks throughout the Northeast,” Tarentino said. “Cocaine is being laced with fentanyl, which is contributing to poisonings and unnecessary deaths in New York and across the country.”

According to the statement, Perez, Espinoza, and Samboy are now accused of acting as major drug traffickers and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

On Friday, they were arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court. The judge imposed $150,000 bail for two of the men, while Perez was remanded.

“This highly profitable Bronx-based narcotics operation appeared to operate as a wholesaler and distributor of cocaine and fentanyl-laced products and was advertised as an ‘inexpensive Mexican pizza spot,’” said NYC Special Narcotics Prosecutor Bridget G. Brennan. “Our office will continue to work with our federal, state, and local enforcement partners to stem the distribution of lethal drugs that claimed the lives of a record-high number of people in our city last year.”

Senator Bob Menendez is officially set to be arraigned on bribery charges.

On Monday, Menendez (D-N.J.) will be arraigned in a Manhattan court on charges that alleged he had accepted bribes from the Egyptian government and conspired to act as a foreign agent while serving in Congress.

Menendez’s wife, Nadine Menendez, was also included in the new charges. However, she pleaded not guilty last week in Manhattan.

Prosecutors stated that Menendez “further promised to take [and] took a series of acts on behalf of Egypt, including on behalf of Egyptian military and intelligence officials, and conspired to do so with” Wael Hana, a New Jersey businessman from Egypt, and his wife.

However, the senator was allowed to delay his arraignment so that he could still work in his Senate position and fulfill his duties. Menendez emphasized that throughout his entire life, he has been loyal to the United States and “will prove his innocence.”

Federal prosecutors also accused the Democrat, his wife, and Hana that they “worked to introduce Egyptian intelligence and military officials to Menendez for the purpose of establishing and solidifying a corrupt agreement.”

Additionally, the FBI is now investigating whether Egypt’s intelligence agency could have been involved in the alleged bribery scheme described in the indictment last month.

Menendez has rejected calls from almost 30 fellow Democrats to resign from his position.

If convicted on the charges, it carries up to a potential penalty of 5 years in prison.

This is the second federal indictment Menendez has faced since becoming a Senator in 2006. Previously, in 2015, he was charged with illegally accepting favors from a Florida eye doctor, which he also denied. That particular case ended in a mistrial.

Is World War III Imminent? It’s Looking That Way

Is World War III Imminent? It’s Looking That Way.
Evelyn Hockstein, Pool via AP
Last week, I observed that Joe Biden acts like he’s hoping that we’ll get sucked into a third world war for all the political advantages that come with being a wartime president. Now it looks like his administration is laying the foundation for the United States to get directly involved in the Israel-Hamas war, and the theory that Biden wants to start World War III is looking a lot less like a theory and more like reality.

Why would the Biden administration get us involved in this war? Well, because his chances of winning in 2024 are getting worse, not better. His strategy of running on the economy — you know, that whole “Bidenomics” thing — clearly backfired, so now he’s pivoting to foreign policy.

According to Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, the United States is ready to intervene in the Israel-Hamas war if it poses a threat to American personnel. They anticipate that Iranian proxies could escalate the situation and say that the Biden administration is ready to respond if American civilians or armed forces are targeted.

“This is not what we want, not what we’re looking for. We don’t want escalation,” Blinken claimed. “We don’t want to see our forces or our personnel come under fire. But if that happens, we’re ready for it.”

According to Austin, “What we’re seeing is a prospect of a significant escalation of attacks on our troops and our people throughout the region. We’re going to do what’s necessary to make sure that our troops are in that position and they were protected and that we have the ability to respond.”

Related: Seventh U.S. Embassy Evacuated Under Biden’s Watch While He Vacations

He affirmed that the U.S. has the right to defend itself and said, “We won’t hesitate to take the appropriate action.”

Austin also says that the United States will keep increasing its presence in the region to “send another message to those who would seek to widen this conflict.”

Blinken agrees that escalation is likely from “Iranian proxies directed against our forces, directed against our personnel. We are taking steps to make sure that we can effectively defend our people and respond decisively if we need to.”

Ahhh yes, Iranian proxies. Don’t you find it curious that the Biden administration has spent years appeasing Iran, trying to revive the nuclear deal and lifting sanctions to appease the regime as it seeks nuclear weapons? The Biden administration previously denied that Iran was involved in the attack on Israel, and now it’s acknowledging that Iranian proxies may attack Americans. The White House is saying this after unfreezing $6 billion in Iranian assets last month.

I really don’t want to be right about this, but it sure feels like the Biden administration is determined to get us involved in a conflict in the hopes it saves his chances of getting elected in 2024.

Joe Biden has apparently figured out that his “Bidenomics” messaging isn’t working and now wants to make the 2024 election about foreign policy. How is that going to work? Things haven’t exactly been going well for him on the foreign policy front, particularly since his botched withdrawal from Afghanistan.

And the worst part is that he doesn’t seem to be concerned that the world is falling apart around him. On Sunday, the president was once again taking it easy at his Delaware beach house.

He doesn’t appear to have a care in the world even as Americans are still being held hostage in Gaza. George W. Bush took a lot of heat for going golfing while America was at war, and, realizing the criticism was legitimate, he didn’t golf for the remainder of his presidency.

In addition to the situation in Israel, U.S. forces were attacked last week at Baghdad International Airport in Iraq — a detail that Biden conveniently ignored during his Oval Office speech. Unrest in the area resulted in an evacuation of non-emergency personnel in the U.S. Embassy in Iraq, and a “Level 4: Do Not Travel Advisory” was issued on Sunday.

Updated to reflect the ordered departure of non-emergency U.S. government personnel and eligible family members.

Do not travel to Iraq due to terrorism, kidnapping, armed conflict, civil unrest, and Mission Iraq’s limited capacity to provide support to U.S. citizens.

On October 20, 2023, the Department ordered the departure of eligible family members and non-emergency U.S. government personnel from U.S. Embassy Baghdad and U.S. Consulate General Erbil due to increased security threats against U.S. government personnel and interests.

“U.S. citizens in Iraq face high risks to their safety and security, including the potential for violence and kidnapping,” according to the State Department. “Terrorist and insurgent groups regularly attack Iraqi security forces and civilians. Anti-U.S. militias threaten U.S. citizens and international companies throughout Iraq. Attacks using improvised explosive devices, indirect fire, and unmanned aerial vehicles occur in many areas of the country, including Baghdad and other major cities. In an emergency, consular services to U.S. citizens in Iraq are limited due to severe restrictions on the movements of U.S. government personnel.”

This marks the seventh evacuation of a U.S. Embassy during Biden’s presidency, following Afghanistan, Ukraine, Belarus, Sudan, Haiti, and Niger. That must be some kind of record, right? It’s not the kind of record you brag about when you run for reelection.

You’ll Never Believe Where Hamas Hid a Military Headquarters (Actually, You Will)

You'll Never Believe Where Hamas Hid a Military Headquarters (Actually, You Will)
AP Photo/Hatem Moussa
The Israel-Hamas war took a totally expected turn over the weekend as Israel Air Force (IAF) jets, helicopters, and drones pounded terrorist outposts hidden in the darnedest places.

I’ll also give you a preview of what might be coming next in this war, but first, today’s big story.

While the heaviest fighting continues in Gaza, on Sunday IAF warplanes struck a headquarters compound hidden beneath a mosque in the West Bank city of Jenin. At least two are known to have been killed in the airstrike. Israeli officials said those killed belonged to Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad and were involved in planning an “imminent terror attack” from the compound.

The strike was also notable because while Jerusalem rarely uses air power in the West Bank, this was the second time IAF planes have hit the Palestinian-controlled region in recent days.

Hiding military or terrorist assets under a mosque is the act of a coward. Maybe not as cowardly as sending terrorists — which the BBC’s moral freakshow helpfully described as mere “gunmen” — to murder partygoers and toddlers, but it’s along the same general lines.

I’m certain we’ll see many more examples of such cowardice as the ground phase of the war begins in earnest over the next few days or weeks.

“In Gaza,” historian and strategist Edward Luttwak warned on Friday, “there are no visible military facilities, while Hamas fighters can shed their fashionable black outfits and dress like civilians.” Nevertheless, Israel does know where to find Hamas soldiers, hidden in their “fixed, immovable targets.”

“These are the deep tunnels,” Luttwak wrote, that are “too deep for aerial bombing. Hamas has been lining them in “concrete for more than 10 years, using construction equipment and vast quantities of cement donated by different governments and international organizations” to build apartments for refugees. Hamas diverted many of those resources to protect, house, and arm their own terrorists.

Inside those tunnels are the assembly lines for Hamas’s rockets, command posts, weapons and ammunition depots, and “even deeper tunnels [that] house its leaders’ lodgings and headquarters.”

Recommended: MAID in Canada: Addicts Can Soon Get Rid of Their Problems Forever

Hamas did a lot of digging, certain that Israel lacked the guts to send in the tanks and infantry necessary to root it out. But now, according to Luttwak, tanks and heavily armored infantry fighting vehicles will “escort combat engineers to their job sites” in Gaza where they will descend into the Hamas tunnel network, plant demolition charges, and end the terror campaign once and for all. “While Israel’s aerostats with cameras, satellite photography, and the pictures generated by radar returns cannot reveal tunnels, they have been used to monitor where cement-mixer trucks have stopped over the years. They cannot pinpoint tunnel entrances by doing so, but they can at least identify places worth exploring.”

They’ll do so while taking fire from hidden snipers, mortars, and rocket attacks.

Retired Australian general Mick Ryan, now a military analyst, wrote last week of a difficult, long, and intense campaign. “The pending Gaza operation will tax the Israeli Defence Force, and pose profound physical, moral and intellectual challenges” and that the fight will be “very bloody, uncertain and full of tactical and strategic surprises.”

In addition to all these complications is a limitation that applies only to Israel and other decent countries: the ticking clock. Israel has a brief window of opportunity to destroy Hamas before global opinion turns against it again. That window is already closing, an action that began the moment the media regurgitated Hamas’s lies that the IAF had bombed a hospital last week, killing 500.

Rushing an urban campaign will result in more dead Israeli army soldiers. But when most of a world of eight billion is arrayed against a tiny nation of nine million, Jerusalem might be forced to act in deadly haste.

An Israeli intelligence source has confirmed that two Israeli hostages who were abducted and held by Hamas terrorists in Gaza have now been released.

The hostages were reportedly released after Qatari mediation efforts.

The two elderly women who were released were Yocheved Lifschitz, 85, and Nurit Cooper, 79. Both were taken from Kibbutz Nir Oz.

Both women are said to be in “poor health conditions.”

The ladies are now in the hands of the Red Cross.

Hamas announced the release through their Telegram channel. The terrorist organization announced that Cooper and Lifschitz were being released for “compelling humanitarian” reasons.

However, both of their husbands are still being held against their will by the terrorist group in Gaza.

The women’s families have also been notified that their loved ones were being freed.

The 85-year-old’s daughter, Sharone Lifschitz, spoke to reporters after her parents were taken, and she described what was left of their home after the horrific incident took place.

“Their whole house is gone,” Lifschitz said. “It’s all burned, and that’s the least of it.”

She went on to say that she was worried and unsure of how long her parents could survive without their medications.

“They’re no longer the kind of people who can survive without medications,” Sharone continued. “Mom was ripped out of her machine; she was sleeping.”

Cooper and Lifschitz’s release also comes days after two Americans were freed from the terrorist organization’s grip.

It is still estimated that over 200 people are still being held captive in Gaza.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
