McCarthy Recites the RINO Creed: ‘We Let Government Grow, But at a Slower Rate’
FREEDOM CAUCUS UNLOADS! Debt Deal a No-Go, 'Not One Republican Should Vote for This'

When the House Republicans who initially refused to accept Kevin McCarthy as speaker finally agreed to do so back in January, they allegedly received assurances from him and his supporters that McCarthy would genuinely oppose Democrat initiatives, not just go along with them as a controlled opposition. And that seems to be the case with the new debt ceiling deal, as Biden’s handlers appear to have made some significant concessions to McCarthy. However, it would be premature to think that the worst days of the uni party are behind us. McCarthy has just given us a disquieting indication that he isn’t completely the reformed RINO he has seemed to be of late.
On Sunday, McCarthy declared confidently on FOX News Sunday that his deal with the devil — er, that is, with Old Joe Biden — was a “step in the right direction” for the GOP. He asserted that “more than 95 percent of all those in the conference were very excited” about the deal, and gave some reasons why: “We finally were able to cut spending. We’re the first Congress to vote for cutting spending year over year. So, you cut that back, you fully fund the veterans, you fully fund defense, but you take that nondefense spending all the way back lower than ’22 levels.” That does sound swell indeed, and McCarthy wasn’t finished.
The man who will go down in history as the successor of Nancy Pelosi then boasted about how his tough negotiating tactics had forced the Democrats to make concessions, particularly on new rules that some of those receiving government handouts had to do something for the money: “Now you get work requirements for TANF [Temporary Assistance for Needy Families] and SNAP [Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program], where the Democrats said that was a red line.”
McCarthy even claimed to have made inroads into the government’s ever-expanding environmentalist initiatives: “Now you’re able to reform NEPA [National Environmental Policy Act]. How frustrating we are with — it’s been 40 years since you could streamline it.” Streamlined government is good, but less government altogether is better, and McCarthy wasn’t quite up to that point. He reeled off the acronyms of these programs, without bothering to explain what they were, like the seasoned Beltway insider that he undeniably is.
He did, however, promise an easing of at least some of the stultifying maze of regulations that have done so much to blunt American initiative in recent years. “To build a road in America,” he pointed out, “takes you seven years to review.” But he promised relief: “We limit that, where it’s focused, where you can only review it one to two years. We’re going to get America working again. We get the process working again.” He added: “We are — we always have these omnibuses at the end of the year, we now penalize Congress if they don’t get their jobs done.”
All in all, McCarthy claimed this was a big victory: “There is so much in this that’s positive.” It looked even better by comparison to previous deals: “And measure it to all the other debt ceilings, when Republicans had the presidency, the Senate, and the House, did they ever cut spending? No, they increased it. We were able to do this when the president said he wasn’t even going to talk to us.” Fantastic, Kevin! Wow! Elect this guy president, right? He continued: “This is really a step in the right direction. It puts us on a trajectory that’s different. We put a statutory cap on spending 1 percent for the next six years.” But then came his RINO bombshell.
McCarthy’s final summation of his great victory was succinct: “So, we let government grow but at a slower rate.”

What?
How’s that again? You let government grow but at a slower rate? This is precisely what establishment Republicans have been doing for decades, earning the justified ire and contempt of millions of patriots: they have let the statist, socialist Democrats set the agenda and largely agreed to it, while just quibbling with a bit here and there, or promising to get the whole thing done more cheaply and efficiently.
This is precisely what a RINO, a Republican In Name Only, is. Dwight D. Eisenhower, as beloved as he was, became the first of these when he took office as president in 1953. He made it clear to the Republicans that even though he was the first Republican president since the beginning of the Depression, he accepted the New Deal and all the massive expansion of government that it entailed. Republicans would not roll any of that expansion back. They’d just fine-tune it a little.
RINOs have been fine-tuning our long march to socialism ever since. If McCarthy’s debt ceiling deal is another step in that direction, we are better off without it, as well as better off with a House speaker who will actually oppose the Democrats, not just drag his feet a little on what they want to get done.

Biden tells Turkey to allow Sweden into NATO if it wants US F-16’s~Biden, Erdogan, and the Lessons of May 29

As America attempts a quid pro quo with Turkey despite its demands (it wants fighter jets as a reward for allowing Sweden to join NATO), another question is whether America should be selling fighter jets to Turkey at all, considering how they may be utilized by Turkey’s hostile President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Reuters reports:
U.S. President Joe Biden said Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan in a call on Monday repeated Ankara’s desire to buy F-16 fighter jets from the United States, while Biden told him Washington wanted Ankara to drop its objection to Sweden’s joining NATO.
The exchange took place when Biden called Erdogan to congratulate him on his victory in Turkey’s presidential election on Sunday.
“I spoke to Erdogan. I congratulated Erdogan. He still wants to work on something on the F-16s.
Erdogan’s ambitions are troubling. He seeks to revive the Ottoman Empire and has declared that Turkey has nothing that contradicts the Taliban’s beliefs. Turkey oppresses the Kurds. NBC published a report, “Turkey’s attack on Kurds in Syria betrays those doing the fighting against ISIS — and dying.” Erdogan bullies Greece, and is doggedly determined to enforce Islamic blasphemy laws globally — hence his blocking of Sweden from NATO over the burning of a Qur’an by Rasmus Paludan. In fact, Turkey has demanded that Swedes must fight those who “target Islam’ if it wants to join NATO.”
Turkey has no place in NATO, to begin with. Nor should it be further armed by America in exchange for Turkey acting in NATO’s interests and expanding that alliance to include Sweden, as opposed to Turkey attending to Islamic interests. Nonetheless, the Biden administration, which has been marked by its repeated counterproductive actions, including leaving billions of dollars worth of American military equipment in Afghanistan at the Taliban’s disposal, is advancing a quid pro quo arrangement with the likes of Erdogan, while denying that the deal is actually being framed in such terms. America hardly needs to be arming more Islamic enemies.
Perhaps Biden et al hope that any deal brokered by America to bring Sweden into the NATO fold might somehow ease America’s sunken reputation while boosting sales for Lockheed Martin. The issue is far from settled among American lawmakers, some of whom support the Biden strategy, despite Biden’s historical efforts to sell fighter jets to Turkey even prior to the Sweden-NATO issue. According to Congressman Gus Michael Bilirakis in 2021:
Turkey’s illegal and unfettered actions are indicative of President Erdogan’s transformation of Turkey to a rogue state led by a leader with a nationalistic philosophy, Neo-Ottoman ambitions, and a complete disregard for following international law.
A year later, in 2022, Bilirakis and Rep. Chris Pappas lead bipartisan opposition to a Biden administration proposal to sell weapons to Turkey.
Appeasement of enemies only weakens America. But that has been the strategy of the Biden administration on every front. Only now it is using the Sweden-Turkey-NATO stalemate opportunistically to further the same appeasement strategy.
Meanwhile, no matter what the Biden administration decides, Erdogan is already looking at other options from China and Russia.

Old Joe Biden’s congratulatory message to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan upon his highly questionable (hey, what election isn’t these days?) reelection was boilerplate from whoever writes his tweets, but nevertheless, it revealed yet again the growing gap between the world views of the two men. That gap has serious geopolitical implications that go all the way back to the anniversary that was observed on the day after the Turkish strongman’s reelection: May 29 marked 570 years since the fall of Constantinople to the Ottoman Turks and the extinguishing, after over two thousand years of continual existence, of the Roman Empire.
Biden’s Twitter wonk wrote on Sunday afternoon: “Congratulations to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Türkiye on his re-election. I look forward to continuing to work together as NATO Allies on bilateral issues and shared global challenges.” (Türkiye is what the nation of Turkey has renamed itself so as to minimize comparisons with a certain Thanksgiving bird. Yes, really.) Biden’s mouthpiece is blandly pleased about the prospect of the U.S. “continuing to work together as NATO Allies” with Erdogan’s Turkey, but Erdogan and his supporters have a very different set of priorities.
To celebrate Erdogan’s victory, his followers gathered in Istanbul’s Hagia Sophia mosque and screamed “Allahu akbar,” which does not mean “God is great,” as the Western establishment media routinely claims, but rather, “Allah is greater,” that is, greater than your god. It is a declaration of supremacy with immense implications. Hagia Sophia was built in the year 537 and stood for nearly a thousand years as the grandest and foremost cathedral in the entire Christian world. Then on May 29, 1453, the Ottoman Turks finally succeeded in entering Constantinople, which Islamic jihadis had been trying to do for nearly eight hundred years. Amid unfathomable bloodshed, Sultan Mehmed II had the Islamic profession of faith proclaimed inside the great cathedral and was converted to a mosque.
Hagia Sophia then stood for centuries as the Ottoman Empire’s statement of the superiority and supremacy of Islam over Christianity. By the early twentieth century, however, the Ottoman Empire had become “the sick man of Europe.” After siding with Germany and Austria-Hungary in World War I, it disintegrated altogether. Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the strongman of the newly constituted secular Turkish Republic, attributed the empire’s decline and fall to Islam, which he called “this theology of an immoral Arab” and dismissed as “a dead thing.” In 1934, Ataturk converted Hagia Sophia into a museum, and so instead of being a symbol of Islam’s triumph over Christianity, it became a symbol of secularism’s triumph over Islam.
Erdogan, however, could not and did not stand for that. As the New York Times noted Thursday, he “has reoriented Turkey’s national culture, promoting a nostalgic revival of the Ottoman past.” In 2020, he reconverted Hagia Sophia into a mosque, making into a revived symbol of Islam’s superiority to Christianity, and a new symbol of Islam’s triumph over secularism. During the just-concluded presidential campaign, Erdogan crowed about his conversion of Hagia Sophia: “The entire West got mad – but I did it.” The re-mosquing of Hagia Sophia was the centerpiece of Erdogan’s program of neo-Ottomanism. And now, the Times opined just before the election that an Erdogan electoral victory would mean that “his neo-Ottomanism will have survived its strongest test in two decades.”
The Times, however, assumes that Erdogan’s neo-Ottomanism is all about rallying nationalist sentiment in order to get votes. It is actually of much greater significance. Erdogan’s neo-Ottomanism is an integral aspect of his stance toward his neighbors. In February 2018, he declared his desire to reconquer the lands the Ottoman caliphate once ruled: “Those who think that we have erased from our hearts the lands from which we withdrew in tears a hundred years ago are wrong. We say at every opportunity we have that Syria, Iraq, and other places in the geography [map] in our hearts are no different from our own homeland. We are struggling so that a foreign flag will not be waved anywhere where adhan [Islamic call to prayer in mosques] is recited. The things we have done so far [pale in comparison to the] even greater attempts and attacks [we are planning for] the coming days, inshallah [Allah willing].”
Related: Muslims Scream ‘Allahu Akbar’ as Hagia Sophia Officially Becomes a Mosque
Erdogan’s Ottoman revanchism has important implications for the NATO alliance. Turkey is increasingly belligerent toward Greece, a fellow NATO country that Erdogan considers to be a rightful part of the Turkish domain. Erdogan’s daughter recently proclaimed that “the crescent will win over Cross of the West.” In Nov. 2022, a Turkish TV channel displayed a map of the projected “Turkish Sphere” in 2050. It included Arabia, Egypt, Libya, Greece, Iraq, Turkmenistan, and more. In Sept. 2022, Erdogan’s interior minister, Suleyman Soylu, declared: “We want to root out America….We don’t need the USA. We do not need a Europe that is unaware of our religion, culture, and belief… We must dismantle the USA.”
Biden’s handlers and NATO’s top dogs should consider all this carefully, but they won’t. They should also ponder the lesson of May 29: great empires that were once thought to be invincible can and do fall. Are they foolish, and ultimately self-defeating, enough to continue to think they have a friend in an increasingly open enemy such as Erdogan? Once again, they won’t even consider the possibility.

CUNY Law School features hijab-wearing Jew-hater as its commencement speaker

This is typical of American academia today. Our nation’s colleges and universities are radioactive wastelands of Leftist hatred and propaganda.
The Times of Israel cannot decide whether her name is spelled Mohammad or Mohammed. I don’t know which is correct.
“NYC’s public law school releases video of ‘antisemitic’ commencement speech,” by Luke Tress, Times of Israel, May 27, 2023:
NEW YORK — New York City’s public law school on Thursday released a video of a commencement ceremony held earlier this month, including a speech the city college system’s Jewish allies decried as discriminatory.
The speaker accused Israel of “indiscriminate” murder, encouraging “lynch mobs” and lauded resistance to “Zionism around the world.”
The City University of New York (CUNY) Law School had hidden the video after coming under criticism for the ceremony.
The speech marked the second consecutive year that the law school’s commencement speaker dedicated much of their address to anti-Israel rhetoric, and comes amid a years-long running battle over alleged widespread antisemitism in the city college system.
Much of the dispute centers around when anti-Zionism crosses into antisemitism, and is part of a larger debate on US college campuses and in progressive circles….
The law school’s commencement ceremony on May 12 featured anti-Israel activist Fatima Mohammed [sic] as its keynote speaker. The school’s commencement speaker is elected by the student body.
In her speech, Mohammad [sic] repeatedly lashed Israel, linking the Jewish state to white supremacy, oppression, colonialism and violence.
“This is the law school that passed and endorsed BDS on a student and faculty level, recognizing that absent a critical imperialism settler colonialism lens, our work and the school’s mission statement is void of value as Israel continues to indiscriminately rain bullets and bombs on worshipers, murdering the old, the young, attacking the funerals and graveyards as it encourages lynch mobs,” she said.
“We are the student body and faculty that fought back when the investor-focused administration attempted to cross the BDS picket line, saying loud and clear that Palestine can no longer be the exception to our pursuit of justice, that our morality will not be purchased by investors,” she said.
Mohammad [sic] also said that CUNY “continues to train IDF soldiers” to carry out “violence globally,” blaming the school system for being “committed to its donors, not to its students.”
She repeatedly linked racism against Black Americans to Israel, and said Jewish New York Senator Chuck Schumer had “dignified” the killing of Jordan Neely, a Black man, on a New York City subway.
“May we rejoice in the corners of our New York City bedroom apartments and dining tables, may it be fuel for the fight against capitalism, racism, imperialism, and Zionism around the world,” she said in closing.
Mohammed [sic] is a member of CUNY Law’s chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine, which has spearheaded BDS and other anti-Israel initiatives on campus.
During the commencement ceremony, the law school graduates also heckled New York City Mayor Eric Adams at the mention of his career on the police force, and turned their backs to Adams while he spoke to them.
The ceremony was closed to the press, and afterward, CUNY Law made the video non-public. CUNY’s central administration and CUNY Law did not respond to requests to make the video public earlier this month.
The law school made the video available online on Thursday, along with other past commencement events. Both pro-Palestinian and pro-Israel groups had pressured the school to release the video….
Debt limit deal heads to vote in full House

NYC Mayor Eric Adams Delivers a Fiery, Patriotic Memorial Day Speech Denouncing Left-Wing Ideologies?
BY RICK MORAN
Republished below in full unedited for informational, educational, & research purposes.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams gave a completely unexpected Memorial Day speech denouncing socialism and Communism and bemoaning the lack of patriotism from the nation’s young.
Referencing Thomas Jefferson (a mistake, according to the radical left), Adams spoke of the famous “Tree of Liberty.”
“You water the tree of freedom with your blood,” Adams said. “We sit under the shade of that tree of freedom protected from the hot rays of socialism and communism and destruction that are playing out across the globe.”
Adams referred to himself as a “thirty-eight percenter,” recalling a poll from last year that showed just 38% of Americans were “extremely proud” of the United States.
“Just as I start the day, every child should start the day with that hope and that true Pledge,” he said.
A 22-year veteran of the NYPD, Adams’s speech was not universally applauded — as you might expect.
Adams’ Memorial Day musings drew pushback on social media from progressive Democrats, who took issue with the fact that the mayor did not include fascism in his condemnation.
“How about opening your eyes and brain to the presence and harms of oh, I don’t know…fascism?” tweeted Alessandra Biaggi, a former state senator for a district that includes parts of the Bronx and Westchester County.
Brooklyn Councilwoman Sandy Nurse, a progressive who frequently criticizes the mayor, was offended that he cribbed a quote from Jefferson.
“Ah yes, Thomas Jefferson, a man who expanded his wealth by owning 600 Black slaves over his lifetime. A man who raped his sister in law, who was also a slave, and kept in forced servitude his own children,” Nurse tweeted at Adams. “Jefferson watered some trees with blood, but not the liberty kind.”
Adams received plenty of praise from the right.
“Thank you, Mayor Adams, for recognizing the evils of socialism and communism on this Memorial Day,” Republican Queens Councilwoman Vickie Paladino tweeted. ”There is much room for policy disagreement, but Americans must always be unified in opposition to these poisons which still infect our society to this day.”
This is not the first time that Adams has clashed with the hard-eyed left of his party. During a campaign fundraiser co-hosted by a Republican, Adams made it clear that he believed the Democratic Socialists of America were a threat.
“I’m no longer running against candidates. I’m running against a movement. All across the country, the DSA socialists are mobilizing to stop Eric Adams,” he said at the time. “They realize that if I’m successful, we’re going to start the process of regaining control of our cities.”
Adams gave the speech at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum’s annual Memorial Day ceremony. At another speech on Monday to a Bedford-Stuyvesant event hosted by a group called Black Veterans for Social Justice, he gave a slightly altered message.
“America is not perfect, let’s not get it mixed up, but people are not lining the borders to leave America. They’re lining the borders to come into America,” he said.
Adams is a Democrat — make no mistake. He supports his city’s sanctuary policies despite the fact that he has no place to put the flood of illegal aliens who are already in the city or on their way. He supports Obamacare and other Democratic social programs. He supports gun control. But he separates himself from the radicals most clearly in his desire to add thousands more police to patrol the streets and in support of stronger enforcement of the law.
No one will ever credibly accuse Adams of being a socialist. Nor will anyone ever credibly accuse Adams of being a conservative. He’s a patriotic moderate who has a clear-eyed view of the true enemy in America.
Christian Teacher Banned in the UK for Standing up for Truth
BY CHRIS QUEEN
Republished below in full unedited for informational, educational, & research purposes.
I can’t imagine how difficult it is to be a Christian in education these days, particularly in places like the UK that don’t have First-Amendment speech protections. It seems like Christian teachers can’t say much of anything without getting in trouble anymore, and one teacher in the UK is reaping the consequences of staying true to his convictions.
In 2017, Cherwell School in Oxford fired Joshua Sutcliffe, a math teacher — or “maths” as they call it in the UK — for referring to two girls as, well, girls. An innocent statement of “well done, girls” to two female students who had completed a problem led to controversy because one of the girls identified as a boy.
Trouble followed Sutcliffe wherever he went. He transferred to a Catholic school and landed in hot water for recommending an Allie Beth Stuckey video about masculinity without presenting alternate views. He faced criticism for calling Mohammed a false prophet and for saying that he was opposed to same-sex marriage.
But it’s the “misgendering” of a girl who wants to be a boy that’s the biggest mark on his record, and it led to a hefty ban from a government board.
“In an outcome believed to be the first of its kind, a Christian maths teacher has been banned by the Secretary of State for Education for ‘bringing the profession into disrepute’ for not using the preferred pronouns of a female student who identified as a boy,” reports Christian Concern (emphasis in the original). “A Teaching Regulation Authority (TRA) professional conduct panel has, with the backing of Education Secretary Gillian Keegan, ruled that Joshua Sutcliffe was guilty of unprofessional conduct and has banned him from teaching in any capacity for at least two years and potentially indefinitely.”
Related: The Pride Cult Really Hates Judeo-Christian Values
Parents rallied to Sutcliffe’s support. “Joshua was very good at his job and teaching,” said one parent. “Patient, kind, and considerate, he was respectful and good at explaining things. My daughter enjoyed being taught by him and it was a very positive experience. I have never witnessed him being unkind to anyone.”
Another parent, whose son Sutcliffe had been tutoring for several years, said, “Joshua helped my son become an A* student for GCSE Maths. Joshua has never been inappropriate in any way. He is a gentleman, he is considerate, he is trustworthy, professional, and good timekeeping. He is like a mentor to my son. He is very focused on tutoring my son to make sure he really understands Maths.”
The Christian Legal Centre is assisting Sutcliffe in an appeal, citing some inconsistencies. “The ruling against Joshua is also at odds with the Education Secretary’s recent defense of a teacher at a private all-girls school who was accused of ‘misgendering’ after saying ‘good afternoon girls,’” Christian Concern points out. In the meantime, Sutcliffe says he’s “heartbroken” and doesn’t know how he’ll support his family.
“This ruling sends a clear message that Christian teachers can no longer express their beliefs in the teaching profession,” said Andrea Williams, chief executive of the Christian Legal Centre, in a statement. “If you are, you will be hounded out and barred from being in the classroom.”
“For loving Jesus, speaking truth in his personal time, and responding to questions from students on the Christian faith, he has been hounded out of the teaching profession,” Williams added. “Joshua will appeal, and we will stand with him for as long as it takes to get justice.”
We should pray that Sutcliffe gets the justice that he deserves.
At the end of the day, the pride cult hates Judeo-Christian values and wants nothing more than to tear them down. We must stand our ground.
