Russia turns away from West, strengthens ties with Muslim world

As the West continues its decline due to wokeness and open borders, Russia is seeking to strengthen its ties with the Muslim world. So is China.

In 2019, Putin stated falsely that Islam and Orthodox Christianity have the same values.

For decades, the red-green axis has worked to dismantle Western democracies from within, and the alliance is now manifesting itself more powerfully on an international level.

The Russia-Islamic World Forum will begin in Kazan, southwest Russia, on Thursday. The two-day event was first held in 2009 and aims to strengthen economic ties between Russia and Muslim countries. In the wake of a rupture between Russia and the West, these ties are now part of a shifting world order.

The decision to hold the 2023 edition of the Russia-Islamic World forum in Kazan is symbolic: the capital of Tatarstan, located some 800km east of Moscow, is seen by the Russian state as a successful example of multiculturalism and peaceful religious coexistence.

Russia is home to some 15 million Muslim citizens “in the sense that they belong to ethnic groups with cultural foundations linked to Islam. Not all are believers or practising Muslims,” according to a report from the French Institute for International Relations.

As a whole, Muslims make up 10% of the Russian population, with most living in the Caucasas [sic] – the area of land that separates the Caspian and Black Seas – and the Volga-Ural region.

Muslims have lived in Tatarstan, in the Volga district, for centuries and the Tatar population (descended from largely Muslim Turkic ethnic groups) is Russia’s largest ethnic minority group….

Is vandalizing a synagogue “anti-Zionism” or anti-Semitism?

A strange story turns out not to be so strange after all.

A woman accused of spray-painting antisemitic graffiti at the Woodward Avenue Shul Jewish Center in Royal Oak last week has been charged, police said.

Randi Lucille Nord was arraigned Wednesday through 44th District Court in Royal Oak, records show. She was charged with ethnic intimidation, a felony carrying a maximum penalty of two years in prison and a $5,000 fine, and malicious destruction of a building, a misdemeanor with a maximum penalty of 93 days in jail and a fine three times the amount of the destruction, police said.

A swastika symbol and the letters AZOV were spray-painted on the side of the building April 27. The word “azov” means “leave” in Hebrew but the letters also are linked to a pro-Nazi Ukrainian militia.

A Twitter account with that name has the banner, “Visit the USSR” over it. And a woman by the name of “Randi Nord” was described as a “MintPress News staff writer”.

Her articles have also appeared in the Tehran Times and Iran’s Press TV.

Randi Nord’s articles fall into that category of deranged antisemitism that leftists defend as antizionist.

In the opening of an article on the border crisis,” Randi Nord wrote, “Mimicking Israel’s tools of repression, United States troops deployed along the U.S.-Mexico border used aggressive force against thousands of unarmed migrants seeking asylum from U.S.-stoked violence in their home countries.”

Headlines include rants like, “Eight Celebs that Helped Raise $60M for the IDF Right Before It Launched an Attack on Gaza,” “Texas Educator Files Lawsuit after She was Fired for Refusing to Sign an Oath to Israel,” “Airbnb Set to Remove Listings from Occupied West Bank that Serve Jewish Settlers” and “Secret Document Reveals Plans for Civil War in Lebanon, Israeli False Flags.”

MintPress News is a far-left site notorious for its antisemitism.

The site was created by Mnar Muhawesh, a “Palestinian” Muslim activist and the daughter of Odeh Muhawesh, a college professor and Islamic sheik, who has accused America of “Islamophobia.”

Much of MintPress News’ content consists of deranged rants against Israel and the site features the worst of the worst, like Max Blumenthal and Miki Peled, and its support for Hamas is not exactly subtle.

As seen in pieces like “Engaging the World” The Fascinating Story of Hamas’s Political Evolution”.

Since MintPress News is leftist, the media is refusing to connect the dots between leftist antisemitism and vandalizing a synagogue, just as when an Intercept writer was caught phoning bomb threats to Jewish groups.

But I’m sure the Left will explain how vandalizing synagogues and calling in bomb threats is “anti-Zionism” and not “anti-Semitism.”
