Well, this has been an interesting week, hasn’t it? Aside from the big news about the Big Guy’s boxes, the new GOP contingent in the House of Representatives shook off the post-speaker blues and got right to work. True, the legislation the House passed in terms of the IRS and the pro-life agenda is destined for doom in the Senate and would not have survived a presidential veto anyway. But you have to give the Republicans credit for fighting the good fight and for making the Democrats say all of the quiet parts out loud.

For example, this week, the House passed a measure that condemned attacks on pro-life facilities and churches. According to Just the News, the resolution “condemns recent attacks of vandalism, violence, and destruction against pro-life facilities, groups and churches” and “calls upon the Biden Administration to use all appropriate law enforcement authorities to uphold public safety and to protect the rights of pro-life facilities, groups, and churches.” The vote was 222-219 and was, as usual, split along party lines. But three Democrats—Vicente Gonzalez of south Texas, Chrissy Houlahan of Pennsylvania, and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez of Washington—supported it.

The article cited a report published by the Family Research Council entitled “Hostility Against Churches Is on the Rise in the United States – Analyzing Incidents from 2018-2022.” The report by Arielle Del Turco, states:

Between January 2018 and September 2022, at least 420 acts of hostility against U.S. churches occurred. The types of acts identified include vandalism, arson, gun-related incidents, bomb threats, and more. There also appeared to be an increase in frequency over the course of the reporting period.

The report notes that there were 342 incidents of vandalism, 58 incidents of arson or attempted arson, 12 incidents involving guns, 11 bomb threats, and 19 incidents that fell into the “other” category, which consisted of assaults, interruption of services, or threats. Twenty incidents involved a combination of offenses. The only states where violence was not reported were Delaware, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, and Vermont. The number of incidents spiked as a result of the Dobbs leak, consisting mostly of pro-abortion graffiti. When the Dobbs decision was handed down, the trend continued. Other incidents were attributed to the treatment of native children in former Catholic schools in Canada, and unrest surrounding the George Floyd incident and the Black Lives Matter movement. Some were incidents of vandalism without messages, and some contained Satanic messages.

As a former liberal and abortion advocate, I understand the passion behind “reproductive rights.” Been there, done that. I get it. But at the same time, shouldn’t Congress be able to agree that vigilante violence is wrong? That chaos is bad? What differences should be worked out without destruction? That we can argue without burning down buildings? Whatever one’s opinion on a given matter may be, civilized people do not do these things. We can all get together on that, right?

I guess not.

Senator Mike Lee once told me that people on Capitol Hill have absolutely no clue what is going on outside the Beltway. So it might be that when Democrats vote against condemning violence against churches and pro-life centers, they may not truly understand the message they are sending. They may not grasp the potential consequences of their actions.

But given the double standard they apply when it comes to things like this, and the idea that violence (of which they approve ) must always equal free speech, it would appear that our Democrat leaders are happy with giving a nod to anarchy, in much the same way CNN talked about “mostly peaceful riots.” After all, Democrats in Congress have delivered more than their fair share of incendiary rhetoric while accusing Mega MAGA Republicans of plotting a violent overthrow of the government. Damage to cities, businesses, and the injuries and deaths of ordinary Americans were nothing more than collateral damage in the fight for a “noble cause,” while J6 has been hailed as the worst thing to happen to our country since Pearl Harbor. So, I have little if any doubt that those who voted against Wednesday’s bill knew exactly what they were doing. They are perfectly content with violence if it agrees with their manifesto and is done by others.

It takes a special kind of narcissism and a level of dysfunctionality approaching sociopathy for the Democrats to vote against not only this bill but the Born Alive Act. And, all Congress jokes aside, I congratulate those legislators who are willing to brave those things and face the derision of the media, academia, and a segment of society that is not far behind their party in terms of derangement.

Of course, no legislation or even court cases will put an end to abortion. For that to happen, society must find the idea morally objectionable. That requires morals, which seem to be in short supply.

What the Classified Scandal Shows About Biden’s Foreign Connections

Is it a coincidence that Biden profited and kept classified documents from Ukraine and Iran?

Biden’s misappropriated classified documents problem keeps getting worse with a second tranche of documents being discovered at another location. It is now clear that the first set of classified documents found at the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement was not an isolated incident. Despite that, the FBI and National Archives are continuing to take a casual approach to the case. There have been no raids on Biden facilities. And won’t be.

But beyond the misappropriation of classified documents, a violation of the Espionage Act, the discovery renews old questions about the foreign connections of Joe Biden and his family.

While details about the classified documents remain scant, we know that they included briefing materials related to three countries: Ukraine, Iran, and the United Kingdom.

It may be a coincidence that Biden has corrupt ties to two of the countries on the list, but it’s more likely that there was something in these briefing materials that specifically interested him.

The most prominent of the Trump documents at the heart of the illegal Mar-a-Lago raid by the Biden administration focused on his peace efforts with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un. Trump personally staked a great deal on trying to forge a personal connection with Kim and it is not surprising that he would have wanted to retain access to some of the correspondence.

There’s no apparent reason why Biden, on leaving office as vice president, should have kept memos and intelligence materials about Iran, the UK and Ukraine. And yet he had strong official and unofficial relationships with Iran and Ukraine that crossed the streams of government policy and personal gain.

That may explain why Biden, as a private citizen, felt the need to retain classified documents.

The Penn Biden Center, the location where the first set of documents was found, was not just an academic project, it was a humbler version of the Clinton Foundation. Like it, the Penn Biden Center was a prepping stage for the Biden administration financed by foreign donors. Such organizations often focus on ‘global engagement’ or ‘international humanitarian projects’, but, as a practical matter, provide jobs for past and future administration officials using foreign money.

Foreign donors get access to future administration officials who will be in a position to set foreign policy. Ten Biden administration officials were employed at the Penn Biden Center. Secretary of State Blinken served as a managing director of a center that at various points took in $30 million from Chinese donors. Most of that money was provided “anonymously”.

Beyond Biden’s known ties to China, he had deep ties to Ukraine and Iran.

Biden’s level of involvement in Ukraine during the Obama administration was strange because it was an unlikely backwater for an ambitious veep who dreamed of replacing his boss to focus on. Few Americans paid attention to it, even during the original Russian invasion, unlike Trump’s focus on North Korea, and Ukraine could not be expected to pay political dividends.

However, while Biden became Obama’s point man on Ukraine, his son, Hunter Biden, was serving as a director on the board of the Ukrainian energy company, Burisma. In the process, the ‘Big Guy’ appears to have met with a Burisma adviser. While Hunter sat on the board, his father was pressuring the government to “reform” its energy industry.

While the nature of the classified documents on Ukraine is unknown, such materials would be potentially very valuable to investors looking to gauge where they should put their money. Briefing materials could indicate anything from information about Ukraine’s industry, behind-the-scenes dealings, and the foreign policy of other countries toward it.

Even if Penn Biden Center officials did not provide direct access to such documents, having them would be a significant asset and a reference point for outside donors or for themselves.

Iran, the other country at the center of the classified documents scandal, is also an energy state and one that has extensive connections to Joe Biden.

Biden’s relationship with the Islamic terror state began early on when he had celebrated the Islamic takeover of Iran and opposed the rescue of American hostages.

After 9/11, Biden proposed, “this would be a good time to send, no strings attached, a check for $200 million to Iran.”

In 2002, he addressed the American Iranian Council whose founder had run for the presidency of Iran. Later that year, Biden was raising big money from Iran supporters and urging that Iran be allowed to join the WTO. In 2007, Biden warned that if Bush bombed Iran, he would impeach him. A year later, he told Israelis that they would have to accept Iran’s nuclear program.

A spokesman for the Student Movement Coordination Committee for Democracy in Iran warned that Biden’s campaigns “have been financed by Islamic charities of the Iranian regime based in California.”

“Biden’s political games have made him Tehran’s favorite senator,” an opinion piece in the Washington Post noted.

The Biden-Iran relationship appears to have continued not only during the Obama administration when the terror state’s nuclear weapons program was legalized but now.

As the Freedom Center revealed last year, one of Biden’s bundlers during his presidential campaign was the executive director of NIAC Action and the former policy director of the National Iranian American Council: often referred to as the Iran Lobby.

We also exposed the fact that the Iranian hackers who appear to have run a false flag operation for Biden in the 2020 election were linked to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps. In 2007, Biden was one of only 22 senators to vote against designating the IRGC as a terror group.

Once in office, Biden has offered Iran covert sanctions relief and attempted to restart the legitimation of Iran’s nuclear weapons program that had begun under his former boss.

Is it a coincidence that Biden profited and kept classified documents from Ukraine and Iran?

Biden’s ties to Ukraine and Iran have previously spurred suspicions of corruption and calls for investigations. The revelation that his people had taken and kept classified documents involving both countries should be a significant red flag. And another example of Biden mixing personal and political, national policy and economic interests in these two major flashpoints.

There are still many unanswered questions about the classified documents.

Why would the Penn Biden Center have needed classified briefing materials? And why did it take so long to disclose their presence? The timing of the discovery in November, right before the midterm elections, is interesting. Until the midterms, it appeared unlikely that Biden would be able to run for another term. The Democrat showing in the midterms however has all but locked in the nomination for Biden. At least the way things stand now. Had Biden been forced to step down after one term, it’s likely that the Penn Biden Center might have been a hub for him again.

The lawyers who found the documents were possibly exploring the possibility or closing the door on it depending on which way Biden’s people thought the midterms would shake out.

Disclosing the classified materials suggested that no one expects Biden to return to Penn Biden. Instead a ‘house cleaning operation’ was underway with the aim of defusing scandals and minimizing legal risks ahead of the 2024 election.

Whatever damage was done with these classified documents has been done. Much as with the Clinton Foundation, all that remains is the cover-up.

Despite nationwide protests, the Islamic Republic remains as belligerent in the international arena as it has always been. This could be evidence that the mullahs aren’t in the least worried about being overthrown, or simply evidence that they want to give the appearance of being unworried.

“US Navy Ships Caught a Fishing Boat Smuggling Over 2,000 AK-47 Rifles from Iran,” by Jake Epstein, Business Insider, January 10, 2023:

US Navy forces recently intercepted a fishing vessel smuggling thousands of AK-47 rifles from Iran to Yemen, the US military said on Tuesday.

The vessel, which was crewed by six Yemeni nationals, was sailing through the Gulf of Oman on January 6 when it was caught, US 5th Fleet said in a statement. A team from the patrol coastal ship USS Chinook discovered and boarded the ship with support from fellow Cyclone-class patrol ship USS Monsoon and the guided-missile destroyer USS The Sullivans. Navy forces found that the ship was carrying 2,116 AK-47 assault rifles.

The vessel was traveling along a route historically understood to be used for the transfer of lethal aid to Yemen’s Houthi rebels — a violation of a UN Security Council resolution and international law, 5th Fleet said….

Over the past few months, US forces have intercepted several vessels transferring lethal aid from Iran to Yemen. In November, 5th Fleet seized a “massive amount” of explosive chemical material that can be used to fuel ballistic missiles. A few weeks later, the service said it recovered more than 50 tons of ammunition and rocket parts….

Malign Iranian activities have been reported in waters off the coast of Middle East countries multiple times in recent weeks — sometimes leading to run-ins with US Navy and US Coast Guard vessels….

Garland Appoints Special Counsel to Investigate Biden’s Illegal Possession

BREAKING: Garland Appoints Special Counsel to Investigate Biden

Attorney General Merrick Garland, under intense pressure from Republicans, has appointed a special counsel to investigate Joe Biden’s handling of documents found at the president’s home and former office.

Garland named Robert Hur, appointed by Donald Trump, who served as the United States Attorney for the District of Maryland from 2018 to 2021. He was in private practice in Washington when Garland tapped him to helm the investigation.

“I strongly believe that the normal processes of this department can handle all investigations with integrity. But under the regulations, the extraordinary circumstances here require the appointment of a special counsel for this matter,” Garland said. “This appointment underscores for the public the department’s commitment to independence and accountability, and particularly sensitive matters and to making decisions indisputably guided only by the facts and the law.”

CNN:

He said that Hur will receive “all the resources he needs to conduct his work.”

The appointment is a major moment for Biden and marks a unique moment in American history with special counsels investigating the current president and his immediate predecessor at the same time. The special counsel investigation, along with the aggressive new Republican-led House of Representatives, means Biden may be on the defensive for the next two years.

The appointment comes hours after the White House counsel’s office said in a statement that Biden’s aides located documents with classified markings at two locations inside his home in Wilmington, Delaware. The documents were located in a storage area in Biden’s garage and an adjacent room, the statement reads. Biden frequently spends weekends at the home, located in a wealthy, wooded enclave on a lake.

Biden claims the documents were in a locked garage at his home. “It’s not like they’re sitting out on the street,” he insisted. Donald Trump will no doubt have a lot to say about that.

Garland really had no choice. With one set of documents in one location, he may have been able to get away with just having an independent review of the docs from a U.S. attorney.

But with two different locations and an unknown number of classified documents, Garland’s hand was forced.

Garland will try to insulate himself and his office from this case. The question that should worry Biden is how far afield Mr. Hur will be able to roam in his investigations. Robert Mueller, the special counsel named for Russiagate, went outside the bounds of his original mandate.

Will Garland let Hur off the leash?

Nigeria: Report says jihadis aided by military slaughtered 410 Southeastern Nigerians, kidnapped over 600 In 2022

The world yawns. The international media narrative is that Muslims are always and in every case victims. When a news story can’t be massaged to fit that paradigm, it is ignored, and this will be.

“How Fulani Jihadists Aided By Nigerian Military Slaughtered 410 Southeastern Nigerians, Kidnapped Over 600 In 2022, Intersociety Group Alleges,” Sahara Reporters, January 9, 2023:

The International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law (Intersociety) has accused Fulani herdsmen and other jihadists of killing no fewer than 410 open and captivity killings and 600 abductions in Southeast Nigeria in 2022.

The group disclosed this in its annual report sent to SaharaReporters.

The report was signed by its Board Chairman, Emeka Umeagbalasi; Head, Civil Liberties and Rule of Law, Obianuju Joy Igboeli Esq., and Head, Campaign and Publicity Department, Chidinma Udegbunam.

According to the group, the suspected herdsmen were aided by the military to kill and abduct residents of the region.

This comes a few days after the Indigenous People of Biafra raised the alarm over the alleged influx of terrorists masquerading as herdsmen into Enugu State, particularly the Nenwe community.

IPOB also alleged that the 82 Division of Nigerian Army Enugu is behind the recent influx of killer herdsmen into the state, urging the people of the state and Igbo people to be on alert.

In 2022, the then Commander of Rapid Response Squad, Abia State Police Command, CSP Johnbull revealed that Fulani herdsmen were responsible for kidnapping in Isuochi in Umenneochi Local Government Area of the state. He also accused the Nigerian Army of being complicit.

He said after collecting ransom, the assailants went to Garrik cattle market to spend the money.

“Yesterday night, I sent my men to the Garrik cattle market. They (referring to kidnappers) go there to spend money after kidnapping our people, they will collect ransom they will go and spend it there (cattle market) The army is not helping us,” he had said.

The infamous ‘Nimbo massacre’ in which about 20 persons were killed by suspected Fulani herdsmen at Ukpabi Nimbo, an agrarian community in the Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State, in April 2016, was the first high profile attack linked to the cattle rearers in the South-East.

Since then, several indigenes of the zone have been killed in numerous attacks by suspected armed herdsmen.

The victims include women who were raped to death on their farms, and clergymen, particularly Catholic priests, who were kidnapped and killed.

In the report obtained by SaharaReporters, the group said investigations carried out by its personnel and several publications revealed that Enugu State was the worst hit with no fewer than 160 deaths out of the 260 open killings recorded.

The report read, “The Jihadist Fulani herdsmen and other jihadists militarily aided to invade and occupy forests, bushes, farmlands and strategic roads and their bypasses in the East since 2016, have been responsible for not less than 410 open and captivity killings and 600 abductions since the beginning of January 2022.

“From several investigations carried out by Intersociety and severally published, 260 of the slain Eastern Christians and non-Muslim others met their death in open unprovoked and unwarranted attacks by the jihadists using automatic rifles, machetes and other weapons of death while the remaining 150 deaths occurred in jihadist captivity involving those abducted and held captive, later killed and dumped to decompose at bush or forest paths.

“Enugu State is the worst hit with no fewer than 160 deaths out of the 260 open killings. The Eha-Amufu in Isiuzo LGA of the State is the worst-hit community with 90-100 deaths. As much as 70 defenseless lives have been lost in Eha-Amufu communities of Ebor, Umujiovu, Mgbuji and Agu-Amede in Jihadist Fulani Herdsmen attacks that occurred in less than one month on 21-23 Nov 2022, 8-10 Dec 2022 and 18th Dec 2022….

Biden Tells Israel to Give Money to Terrorists, Not Terror Victims

The most anti-Israel administration stands with Islamic terrorists.

BY DANIEL GREENFIELD

The Biden administration condemned Israel for giving $39 million in tax revenues to the victims of terrorism instead of the terrorists.

“It is morally just and important for the war against terror. There is no greater justice than using the funds for the victims of terror,” Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said of the move.

State Department spokesman Ned Price condemned Israel’s actions as a “unilateral response” that will “exacerbate tensions. and warned that the administration will raise the issue with Israel.

Price did not address whether the Palestinian Authority spending hundreds of millions of dollars a year to finance terrorist attacks against Israelis through the ‘Pay-to-Slay’ program raises any tensions. The ruling PLO body spending millions to kill Jews is not unilateral, but Israel refusing to finance the murder of its own citizens is a dangerous move that will make peace difficult.

Palestinian Authority PM Mohammad Shtayyeh claims that if Israel doesn’t give it $39 million, that “will promptly lead to its collapse.”

The terror organization has been claiming variations of the same thing for over two decades.

“Palestinian Authority Broke and In Disarray,” the media agonized in 2004. “Palestinians Threaten to Collapse the Palestinian Authority,” they clamored in 2009. “Suspended tax transfers leave Palestinian economy on the brink” came the warnings in 2015. “Palestinian finances near collapse as cuts deepen,” we were told in 2019.

The PLO’s terror infrastructure is always on the verge of collapse, but sadly never does.

“Israel sells us everything, including water treatment, electricity, and drinking water, and in fact profits from all of this,” Shtayyeh whined.

Why after 30 years can’t the aspiring terror state do anything for itself? The “Palestinians” have received an estimated $40 billion in foreign aid. Other estimates have put it at $50 billion.

Over $14 billion of that money went directly to the Palestinian Authority. What did all that money buy apart from mansions for top terrorists?

Pinchas Rutenberg, who had unsuccessfully urged Russia’s liberal Kerensky government to execute Lenin and Trotsky before it was too late and fought to the last to defend the Winter Palace against the Bolsheviks, headed to Israel and began electrifying the country.

“No one doubts the duty of the British Empire to develop the Land of Israel, but who will be charged the financial burden? The British taxpayer? Or perhaps the Arab public that has lived in the country for hundreds of years and has not lifted a finger to develop it. True, Rutenberg is a Jew, and he recruited businessmen and Jewish capitalists to develop the natural resources of the Land of Israel and create jobs for its Arab residents, but is it, therefore, necessary to disqualify his vision?” Churchill opined.

In a matter of years, much of Israel was powered by the generators that Rutenberg had built.

And all of this happened over two decades before Israel even achieved independence.

Somehow Jewish refugees could do a better job of providing electricity in the 1920s after only a few years than the Palestinian Authority has managed in the 2020s after 30 years.

Churchill correctly observed that the Arab invaders and colonizers had lived there for “hundreds of years” yet had “lifted a finger to develop it.” The cost of developing the territories under PLO control has passed right back to the British taxpayer, the American taxpayer, and the Israelis.

Every few years, Israel threatens to cut off the power unless the terrorists pay their debts. The last time around the debt had shot up to $500 million. Each time diplomats warn that if Israel cuts off the power, there will be a humanitarian crisis. But when isn’t there a crisis?

Biden directed over half-a-billion dollars to the terrorists since taking office. And yet the PLO claims that it’s still on the verge of collapse and Israel has to save it all over again.

“The PA must stop its involvement in terror if it wants to survive. As long as it continues to encourage terror, it is our enemy and as such, what interest do we have to help it?” Israeli Finance Minister Smotritch pointed out.

The Palestinian Authority has never run out of money to pay the terrorists, but it can’t manage to pay for its power bill or accomplish anything useful for its people.

Secretary of State Blinken and Jake Sullivan, Biden’s national security adviser, are headed to Israel to scold the Jewish State for not giving money to the terrorists. The administration has used every possible forum to show contempt and undermine Israel: including a recent UN session denying Jews the right to visit the Temple Mount which is the holiest site in Judaism.

When National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir visited the Temple Mount, the Biden administration called it an “unacceptable” violation of the “historic status quo” that bans Jews.

And yet Ben-Gvir’s visit came and went.

Since then, he’s told the police to take down the terrorist flags of the PLO.

“It is inconceivable that lawbreakers will wave terror flags, incite and encourage terrorism,” Ben Gvir said. “I have issued instructions for the removal of the flags, which support terrorism, from the public space and to stop incitement against the State of Israel.”

The Biden administration, which funds terrorism and incitement against Israel through its foreign aid to the Palestinian Authority, is probably unhappy with this. Its spokesmen repeatedly accuse Israel of “unilateral” acts that increase “tensions”. Every time a Jewish person sneezes in Jerusalem, Ned Price appears at a State Department podium to intone about unilateral sneezing, raising tensions. And yet it’s the Biden administration that is conducting unilateral actions meant to undermine Israel’s status like its rogue diplomatic operation to the PLO.

The level of pettiness included stepping in when an Iron Age spoon was seized from the founder of Birthright Israel to “return” it to the Palestinian Authority even though the Arab Muslim colonists had invaded the area a thousand years later and had no claim to the ancient artifact.

The spoon was identified in the files as coming from the country of Israel, “from the Hebron area” that “is the area of the richest Iron age Jewish tombs (many royals).”

The pettiness of seizing an artifact that originated from an Israeli source and turning it over to the Arab Muslim terrorists who currently occupy parts of Hebron to make a point is emblematic of the Biden administration’s determination to undermine the Jewish People’s claim to its land.

The Biden administration and the media are furious that Israel’s new patriotic government is asserting its rights. It’s a belated act of self-defense that the media treats as an attack.

A hysterical AP news story denounces Netanyahu’s new government as “hard-line”,  “ultra-nationalist”, and the “most hard-line and religious government in Israel’s history” that is “shaking the foundations of Israel’s democracy”, “fomenting divisions” and “barreling toward conflict”.

And that’s just the first two paragraphs of a deranged screed masquerading as news coverage.

Israel’s new government is not “shaking the foundations of Israel’s democracy”, it’s restoring it after decades of hijacking by an activist judiciary by implementing a system of checks and balances to equalize its power with that of the legislature.

It is not “fomenting divisions”, it’s confronting divisions created by leftists and dealing with them. And it’s not “barreling toward conflict” but responding to the attacks against the Jewish State.

What has Israel’s “ultra-nationalist” and “hard-line” government done so far? It diverted money that will be used by terrorists to finance the murder of Jews to the victims of these attacks.

One of its cabinet members briefly visited the holiest site in Judaism. Another suggested that the terrorists need to choose between getting money through Israel and killing Jews.

All that outrage over basic acts of decency.

It’s hard to argue with any of these actions when they’re described objectively. That’s why shrill labels like “hard-line” and  “ultra-nationalist” are being used to silence any meaningful debate.

The media doesn’t want to talk about why Israel and the United States should be financing Islamic terrorism against Jews. Israel’s new government is determined to make that the issue.

Anyone in the Biden administration, the media, and activists who scream about “unilateralism” and “ultra-nationalists” should be asked to put away their thesauruses and answer why money should go to terrorists, not terror victims.
