So, you (and the world) survived the giant UN COP27 Climate Summit that finished up last month in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. And you thought you might get a little relief from the incessant hectoring by the Klaus Schwabs, Joe Bidens, and Greta Thunbergs of the world about how your fossil-fuel vehicle, bacon burgers, and AC are melting the icecaps and destroying the planet. But, nooooo! No sooner had the UN’s self-indulgent, globetrotting technocrats left their luxury digs at that world-savers confab than they were off to Montreal, Canada, for another lavish, two-week marathon event. We’re referring to the 15th UN Biodiversity Conference of Parties (COP15), which was tasked with gaining global buy-in for a world-shackling “biodiversity” treaty to complement the UN Paris Agreement on climate. Instead of hysterical hand-wringing about the supposed existential threat from melting icecaps, rising sea levels, wildfires, and hurricanes, the biodiversity disaster choir insists that we are facing doom from the imminent “mass extinction” of plant and animal species due to our irresponsible “overconsumption.”

“Experts are warning that if the 196 countries under the U.N. Convention on Biological Diversity don’t agree on a deal by the end of the conference, then it will be almost impossible to save what’s left of the world’s wildlife and natural lands,” the International Business Times reported on December 8 as the Montreal conference got underway. The “experts” so frequently cited in news reports are those associated with the UN’s Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES), which is the UN’s biodiversity “science” counterpart to it’s infamous Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPPC), which regularly dispenses frightful predictions of doom about to befall us — unless we grant federal and global bureaucrats omnipotent powers of regulation and control to protect us from ourselves. Like the IPCC, the IPBES program is supported by the usual “experts” from Big Green — World Wildlife Fund, Sierra Club, Natural Resources Defense Council, National Geographic Society, Greenpeace, International Union for the Conservation of Nature, etc. — and the usual Big Media sock puppets. Like the IPCC, the UN’s IPBES is generously funded by governments (the U.S., China, Japan, France, Germany, the EU) and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (see here).

Another notable IPBES donor is the Kering Foundation, an image-polishing project of French billionaire and fashion mogul Francois-Henri Pinault (husband of actress Salma Hayek), whose seedy underbelly was recently exposed in the Balenciaga “fashion” scandal featuring outrageous child-porn ads with BDSM (bondage-dominance/sado-masochism) imagery (see here and here).

According to the IPBES’ often-cited 2019 report on “Nature’s Dangerous Decline,” “around 1 million animal and plant species are now threatened with extinction, many within decades, more than ever before in human history.” And, said the IPBES, “the rate of species extinctions is accelerating, with grave impacts on people around the world now likely.”

This “mass extinction” scare story is not new; we have been reporting on the scientific debunking of this manufactured “crisis” for decades, as the video below from 2012 shows.

Typical of UN summits, delegates representing 195 countries and the European Union at the Montreal biodiversity farce haggled for two weeks (December 7-19) over details of the text of the “framework” before going into an all-night, hyper-pressured session, with an army of NGO activists (subsidized by taxpayers and the usual tax-exempt foundations) pushing for negotiators to adopt the most extreme positions. Finally, at 3:30 a.m. Montreal time Monday, the great faux drama concluded with the announcement that an agreement had been reached on the framework text.

What’s inside the new “biodiversity framework”? The left-wing Guardian of Great Britain reported early on the morning of December 19 that “the gathering nations at the biodiversity summit have agreed to four goals and 23 targets. The goals include protecting 30 percent of the world’s land, water, and marine areas by 2030, as well as the mobilization, by 2030, of at least $200 billion US per year in domestic and international biodiversity-related funding from all sources, both public and private.”

“There is also a pledge,” the Guardian continued, “to reduce subsidies deemed harmful to nature by at least $500 billion by 2030 while having developed countries commit to providing developing countries with at least $20 billion per year by 2025, and $30 billion per year by 2030.”

It was a foregone conclusion that the summit would be another multi-billion-dollar UN shakedown of taxpayers in the developed world ostensibly to aid the poor in developing countries. That’s always the compassion appeal cover story. But everyone knows that whatever funds are finally delivered will be funneled through various national governments and UN agencies to kleptocrat regimes, politically connected corporations, and favored NGOs — and, of course, with ample pilfering by the UN banditti along the way. Whatever trickles down to local Potemkin-village projects for media exploitation are likely to be inconsequential (or even harmful) to the local people and the environment.

The Agenda 2030 “Masterplan for Humanity” and the 30X30 Initiative

However, while multi-billion-dollar payoffs provide plenty of incentive for politicos and corporates alike to hop on board the biodiversity bandwagon, for the consummate globalists the real objective is power — earth-shaking, “transformative” power, on a global scale. Power as envisioned by the Davos elites to “reset” the entire world — and all humanity — according to their own demonic whims. Thus, does the World Economic Forum’s majordomo Klaus Schwab openly put forward in the WEF’s proposed “Great Reset,” which supposes the need for Klaus and his fellow megalomaniacs to structurally “transform” the planet (and all of us who live on it) politically, economically, socially, environmentally, biologically, morally, and spiritually.

A big part of the Great Reset involves the promotion and adoption of the UN’s Agenda 2030, which has been prominently and repeatedly featured on the WEF website since it was officially launched by the UN in 2016 (see, for instance, here, here, here, and here).

Agenda 2030, as regular readers of The New American know, is a rebranding of the massive Agenda 21 that emerged from the 1992 UN Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro. In his “Sustainable Development Goals Implementation Strategy Briefing” to the UN General Assembly on November 8 of 2016, then-President of the UN General Assembly Peter Thomson called Agenda 2030 a “masterplan for humanity.” Of course, a master plan assumes a master planner (or master planners), who will also be the master(s) that order the slaves to carry out the master plan. The Agenda 2030 “masterplan” is guided by 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 169 targets, to be fully cemented into place by the year 2030.

The 30-by-30 (or 30X30) initiative is a key component of Agenda 2030, calling for, as noted above, “protecting 30 percent of the world’s land, water, and marine areas by 2030.” In this context, “protecting” means controlling, which means putting huge swaths of land and ocean (as well as rivers, lakes, streams, and aquifers) under government (national and global) control. President Joe Biden jumped into the 30X30 initiative as one of his earliest actions in the Oval Office, signing an “Executive Order on Tackling the Climate Crisis at Home and Abroad” on January 27, 2021. The Biden executive order announced the administration’s intent “to achieve the goal of conserving at least 30 percent of our lands and waters by 2030.” Notice the qualifying phrase “at least.” That’s because the 30 percent is viewed by Big Green as the first installment on the way to 50 percent.

National Geographic is one of the many “prestige” transmission belts to promote this 50-percent idea, writing, for instance, in 2019: “Countries should double their protected zones to 30 percent of the Earth’s land area, and add 20 percent more as climate stabilization areas, for a total of 50 percent of all land kept in a natural state, scientists conclude.” Again, we see those ubiquitous “scientists” who, like Anthony Fauci, presume to speak in the name of science. That means, of course, no drilling for oil or gas or mining for minerals in these “protected” areas. It also means farming and ranching — food production — will be made next to impossible for all except the huge globalist food cartels. (See here, and here.)

So, if we allow the globalists’ 30X30 land and water grab to succeed, they will soon be back for their 50X50 (50 percent of land and water by 2050).

But, hey, it’s all being done for Mother Earth, right? After all, she is reverentially mentioned eight times in the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. (Note: It’s called the Kunming-Montreal framework because Communist China held the presidency of the conference and the event originally was to have taken place in the Chinese city of Kunming. However, the venue was changed to Montreal due to China’s renewed Covid outbreak.) Those Gaia-style references include pseudo-legal claims concerning the “rights of nature and rights of Mother Earth.” These, we are told, are “an integral part” of the biodiversity framework and “its successful implementation.” And we can count on Big Green and its army of lawyers to represent the “rights of Mother Earth” and interpret what she demands of us mere interloping mortals. This translates into more regulations and lawsuits aimed at farmers, ranchers, miners, loggers, manufacturers — virtually anyone who produces any of the things we need, use, and consume.

Veteran readers of this magazine will recognize in the 30X30 and 50X50 schemes a rebirth of the radical Wildlands efforts of 1990s to implement the 1992 UN Convention on Biological Diversity through “rewilding” half of the United States. (See the April 3, 1995 article “Global Green Regime: The Biodiversity Treaty” by this writer and the July 3, 2000 article “The United Nations’ Big Green Machine” by Idaho Congresswoman Helen Chenoweth-Hage). The John Birch Society and other property-rights groups and liberty-loving activists fought much of that agenda to a standstill. However, like the vampire that keeps returning unless a stake is put through its heart, these UN programs keep coming back, powered by infusions of U.S. taxpayer dollars. The only genuine solution is to Get US out! Of the United Nations; and Get the UN out of the United States.

The most recent effort in this direction is The American Sovereignty Restoration Act (H.R. 7806) introduced in this past Congress by Representative Mike Rogers (R-Alabama). It did not go anywhere in the Pelosi-controlled Democratic House, but it, or a similar version, should fare much better in the new Congress.

On December 16, a three-judge panel of the Second Circuit Court of Appeals determined that Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference (CIAC) rules allowing biological males to compete against girls in female sporting competitions were allowed by Title IX, a 1972 law that prohibits sex-based discrimination at educational facilities.

Four female athletes, led by Selina Soule — a Connecticut track and field athlete who was denied the opportunity to compete in the New England Interscholastic Track and Field Championships because two biological males “identifying” as females beat her out for the top spots — brought the suit. The other athletes are Chelsea Mitchell, Alanna Smith, and Ashley Nicoletti.

Judges Denny Chin and Susan Carney, both Obama appointees, and Beth Robinson, a Biden appointee, agreed with a District Court ruling that the four girls lacked standing to sue for damages and their case must be dismissed.

“We are unpersuaded, with respect to the claim for an injunction to alter the records, that Plaintiffs have established the injury in fact and redressability requirements for standing; both fail for reasons of speculation,” the judges wrote. “And because we conclude that the CIAC and its member schools did not have adequate notice that the Policy violates Title IX — indeed, they had notice to the contrary — Plaintiffs’ claims for damages must be dismissed.”

The Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), which is representing the female plaintiffs, strongly disagreed and is considering an appeal.

“The 2nd Circuit got it wrong, and we’re evaluating all legal options, including appeal. Our clients — like all female athletes — deserve access to fair competition. Thankfully, a growing number of states are stepping up to protect women’s athletics,” an ADF statement read. “Right now, 18 states have enacted laws that protect women and girls from having to compete against males, and polls show that a majority of Americans agree that the competition is no longer fair when males are permitted to compete in women’s sports. Every woman deserves the respect and dignity that comes with having an equal opportunity to excel and win in athletics, and ADF remains committed to protecting the future of women’s sports.”

“The vast majority of the American public recognizes that in order to have fair sports, we have to protect the female category, and I think you’re seeing that trend increasingly with states across the country passing laws to protect women’s sports.… This is certainly not the end of the road in the fight for fairness for female athletes,” Keifer added.

The ACLU, who defended the CIAC policy on behalf of the two “transgendered” male athletes — Andraya Yearwood and Terry Miller — was, naturally, delighted with the biology-denying ruling.

“Today’s ruling is a critical victory for fairness, equality, and inclusion,” said Joshua Block, an ACLU attorney specializing in LGBTQ issues. “The court rejected the baseless zero-sum arguments presented by the opposition to this policy and ultimately found transgender girls have as much a right to play as cisgender girls under Title IX. This critical victory strikes at the heart of political attacks against transgender youth while helping ensure every young person has the right to play.”

“Trans student athletes belong on our sports teams and in our schools, and all trans youth should be celebrated and protected for who they are,” said Elana Bildner, an ACLU Foundation of Connecticut senior staff attorney. “Today, the courts have once again dismissed this lawsuit seeking to attack trans student-athletes. The record shows that our clients played by the rules, and the court agreed.”

Nobody was arguing that the two male athletes who competed in the girls' division didn’t play “by the rules.” Instead, they argued that the rules that allow the stronger and faster males to compete against females were ridiculous and wrong.

A tiny science-denying minority has gained an undeniable foothold in our culture. Merely by virtue of proclaiming themselves “female,” male athletes who would be, at best, middle of the road in competitions against other males are allowed in some jurisdictions to dominate sports that should be female-only. And many courts in America are bowing to the whims of that minority.

The U.S. military and police responded after a concerned New Jersey mother and school board member spoke out against bizarre posters targeting elementary children with hypersexual propaganda promoting homosexuality, transgenderism, and even the wonders of being “agender,” “pansexual,” and “polysexual.” Critics are now calling for all the officials involved to resign.

The local mother, Angela Reading, became “livid” and posted her concerns about these “perverse” posters on Facebook, along with photographs of the school propaganda for other parents to see. “It should be illegal to expose my kids to sexual content,” said Reading, noting that she saw the images as she was taking her seven-year-old daughter to “math night” at the elementary school.

“Also, how can my young children be accepting of people who are ‘sexually attracted to multiple genders’? They don’t know what sex is,” she continued. “Are adults talking about their sexual life with my kids and looking for affirmation? Are there elementary students engaged in polyamorous or multi-gender sexual activity who need my kids to know about it and cheer them on?”

“I am very confused and very angry,” added Reading, who said she welcomed debate but was appalled when her daughter asked what “polysexual” meant. Her children have now been pulled from the school with no plans to return, according to news reports. But the nightmare is not over yet.

Instead of apologizing to parents and firing all the groomers sexualizing school children under 10 years old, the government went even wilder. In fact, in what may be an unprecedented move even more outrageous than terrorizing concerned parents with the FBI’s “terrorism” forces, the Biden administration’s increasingly radicalized military went after Reading.

The disgraced military officer, who called Reading an “extremist,” continued to haunt social media services attacking people who expressed support for Reading. However, he did not specify what may have caused supposed “safety concerns” for any families. Nor did he say under what supposed authority the military was getting involved in local educational issues.

Police chief Robert Duff of North Hanover, meanwhile, contacted the Facebook group and asked for Reading’s post to be removed. Citing concerns about “Homeland Security coming after me,” Reading agreed to allow the harmless post expressing her opinion to be removed from social media.

Thousands of parents have signed a petition supporting Reading and the rights of all other parents not to have their children sexualized — and to be able to speak out against grooming and perversion being imposed on children in tax-funded “educational” institutions. Many called for Schilling and all others involved to resign.

The national scandal, which was first reported on the Chaos and Control substack under the headline Woke NJ Military Goes After Local Mom, resulted in widespread outrage throughout New Jersey and beyond. Reading even went on Fox News’s Tucker Carlson show, the largest cable TV show in America, to expose the terrifying absurdity of it all.

Having the U.S. military get involved in this case represents a dramatic escalation in the Biden administration’s escalating War on Parents and Families. Anybody who participated in infringing on Readings rights under color of law must be removed from their offices and prosecuted under federal statutes dealing with precisely this sort of abuse.

Son of Biden’s Iran Envoy Works for ‘Iran Lobby’

Tehran is calling the shots in D.C.

During the 2008 election, the Obama campaign dropped Robert Malley as an adviser over his work with Hamas on behalf of George Soros’ International Crisis Group. Once in office, Obama brought back his old buddy into the National Security Council.

Malley (pictured above) then became the lead negotiator for the sellout deal to legitimize Iran’s nuclear program.

Despite vocal criticism from Iranian dissidents and the country’s freedom movement, Biden chose Malley as his special envoy to Iran. Even as Robert Malley continues conducting outreach to the Islamic terrorist state on behalf of the Biden administration, his son works at a pro-Iran organization tied to a key figure in the Iran Lobby.

Robert was the son of Simon Malley, an adviser to PLO terrorist leader Yasser Arafat and the founder of a Communist party in Arafat’s native homeland of Egypt. Blaise Malley represents the third generation of the family’s leftist radicalism being used to prop up Islamist movements.

The son of Biden’s envoy to Iran spends his time undermining American efforts against Iran.

Blaise Malley is listed as a full-time reporter for the Quincy Institute run and funded by key figures in the pro-Iran movement. His most recent article agitates against further American involvement in the conflict against the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorists in Yemen whose motto is, “Death to America, Death to Israel, Curse to the Jews, Victory to Islam.”

Iran spends an estimated $20 million a year backing the Houthis. Their ability to hold parts of Yemen is crucial to the terror regime’s ambitions for the region. America’s first strike against the Houthis was actually in response to their cruise missile attack on the USS Mason.

The Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft was founded by George Soros and Charles Koch. Its donors include a roster of leftists and their foundations including the Ford Foundation, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, Barbara Streisand, and Frank Giustra: the billionaire at the center of the Clinton Foundation scandal involving the sale of Uranium One to Russia.

The executive VP of Quincy however is Trita Parsi: a dual Iranian-Swedish national who founded the National Iranian American Council. NIAC, described by critics as the ‘Iran Lobby’, has been accused of violating tax laws and the Foreign Agents Registration Act.

Quincy’s board includes Francis Najafi. a wealthy Iranian real estate developer who is also a major funder of NIAC, Amir Handjani, the exclusive broker for an American company doing business with Iran, and a Quincy Institute fellow, who also appears to be a donor.

Masih Alinejad, the Iranian-American dissident journalist targeted for kidnapping by the regime, tweeted, “NIAC and Quincy are the Russia Today of the Iranian Regime. They spend all of their time defaming critics of the Islamic Republic, myself included. When the regime attempts to kill us they’re either silent or mealy-mouthed. ”

As an envoy, Robert Malley is in theory supposed to represent American interests. At a minimum, close family members of Biden’s envoy to Iran should not be employed by an organization that has a vehement pro-Iran agenda and ties to pro-Iranian financial interests.

But Blaise, who was nurtured by the same Islamist-internationalist network, who served as a managing editor at the Journal of Middle East Studies and wrote his thesis on “Is a Left/Right Coalition on Non-Interventionist Foreign Policy Feasible” is just the latest incarnation of the Malley family which seems to have been bred to undermine America and support its enemies. It’s only a matter of time until Blaise rises through the think tanks and then into the government.

And Blaise is benefiting from some of the same connections that followed his father around.

A recent letter in defense of Robert Malley fumed that, “those who accuse Malley of sympathy for the Islamic Republic have no grasp of – or no interest in – true diplomacy”. It was signed by, among others, Trita Parsi’s brother, a board member at NIAC, Amir Handjani, a board member, and two fellows at Quincy. How better to dispute the accusation that Malley is on Iran’s side?

The difference between father and son is that the elder Malley is embedded within the government and has to be a bit discreet, while the younger Malley is free to do his best Tokyo Rose impression in the virtual pages of any publication that will run his propaganda.

In The American Prospect, a leftist publication, Blaise Malley warned that “Iran’s leadership may also have lost trust in an American government”, and suggested that the Islamic terror state might be “keeping the door open to improving relations with the United States”, but cautioned that “it would be a mistake to assume that Iran doesn’t have a say in the deal’s future as well.”

Iranian propaganda could hardly be any more clearly packaged.

In The New Republic, Blaise Malley claimed that sanctions on Iran had killed 13,000 people despite the fact that food and medicine are not sanctioned. Malley quoted a Quincy official complaining that America had sanctioned Iran and “we won’t guarantee to lift the sanctions if they go back to doing what we wanted.”

“No good has come of trying to isolate other authoritarian countries, such as Iran, North Korea, and others,” Blaise Malley whined at the Washington Examiner.

Forget isolating them abroad, the question is how do we isolate them at home?

Foreign agents for Iran, Qatar, the Muslim Brotherhood, and the entire network around them have overrun D.C. and the media. And top government officials are complicit in the corruption.

As Iranians protest for freedom in the streets, Robert Malley and the pro-Iran influence networks have been caught up in the backlash. Malley was forced to apologize for a tweet that he described as “poorly worded”. And NIAC, Quincy, and their circle have tried to reject allegations that they are part of an ‘Iran Lobby’ by offering some concerned noises about the protests.

The Malley family has come a long way since the French Interior Minister stated that Robert’s father and Blaise’s grandfather were issuing “genuine appeals to murder foreign chiefs of state”.

But while the presentation may have changed, the underlying content remains the same.

The Biden administration is maneuvering to appear to condemn the Islamist regime’s brutal crackdown on the protests while covertly supporting it. But it’s hard to maintain that illusion when the son of Biden’s envoy to Iran is pushing Iranian propaganda for the Iran Lobby.

You’ve got to give the Left credit. It has an extensive agenda, and a long memory, and when it seizes power, it rolls as many of its agenda items, even the ancient ones, through the gate. Compare that to how little conservatives get done when in office. And how little of the things the Left does the reverse.

This is a seemingly unimportant example, but also a reminder of how comprehensive the Left’s agenda is, and how it encompasses the past, present, and future. Lefties never let anything go.

And never pass up an opportunity to rewrite history.

The Biden administration has reversed a decades-old decision to revoke the security clearance of Robert Oppenheimer, the physicist called the father of the atomic bomb for his leading role in World War II’s Manhattan Project.

U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said the 1954 decision by the Atomic Energy Commission was made using a “flawed process” that violated the commission’s own regulations.

“As time has passed, more evidence has come to light of the bias and unfairness of the process that Dr. Oppenheimer was subjected to while the evidence of his loyalty and love of country have only been further affirmed,” Granholm said in a statement on Friday.

The actual evidence that came out was that Oppenheimer did it.

A Soviet spy chief’s memoirs published here today claim that the late J. Robert Oppenheimer, head of the U.S. atomic bomb project during and after World War II, passed nuclear secrets to Soviet agents.

The allegations were made by Gen. Pavel Sudoplatov, who was in charge of efforts to obtain atomic secrets from the West, and excerpts of them ran in the Sunday Telegraph. Time magazine will print excerpts in today’s issue.

The memoirs charge that Oppenheimer, a University of California physicist known as “the father of the atomic bomb,” condoned and assisted in the flow of vital nuclear secrets.

Sudoplatov charges that Elizabeth Zarubina, wife of the Soviet intelligence head in Washington, cultivated Oppenheimer socially.

Zarubina persuaded Oppenheimer to share atomic secrets with “anti-fascists of German origin,” Sudoplatov says.

The memoir, “Special Tasks,” declares: “We received reports on the Manhattan Project from Oppenheimer and his friends in oral form, through comments and asides, and from documents transferred through clandestine methods with their full knowledge that the information they were sharing would be passed on.

“In all there were five classified reports made available by Oppenheimer describing the progress of work on the atomic bomb.”

The Russians also received photos of the facilities at Oak Ridge, the book says.

“The Soviet bomb was constructed in three years,” Sudoplatov says. “Without the intelligence contribution, there could have been no Soviet bomb that quickly.”

Oppenheimer’s actions could have led to the deaths of millions of people and eventually far more than that.

Long before that, Edward Teller put his career on the line to denounce Oppenheimer. That helped marginalize Teller, the father of the H-bomb, and made him a pariah among lefties to whom the highest possible honor was helping the USSR and the highest possible disgrace was informing of Communists.

And then there’s the Merkulov letter which also revealed Oppenheimer’s complicity with the USSR.

In short, all of the “new evidence” actually makes it clear that Oppenheimer was collaborating with the USSR.

And all of this will also be ignored by the Biden administration and the media who don’t actually know any of the history or care.

When did Biden own slaves? How can he apologize for something he had nothing to do with? Biden and other American Leftists act as if the United States invented slavery or were somehow uniquely implicated in it. I’m sure that during his meeting with African leaders he didn’t mention that the slaves were sold to the slave traders by their fellow Africans, many of whom were Muslims selling non-Muslim captives.

During a White House dinner honoring African leaders and their spouses, Biden addressed what he called America’s ‘original sin’ – the enslavement of millions of people – and honored their descendants and the broader African diaspora community in the United States.

‘Our people lie at the heart of the deep and profound connection that forever binds Africa and the United States together,’ he said.

‘We remember the stolen men and women and children were brought to our shores in chains, subjected to unimaginable cruelty.’

Singer Gladys Knight later serenaded Biden and the visiting leaders with a performance in the White House State Dining Room.

The White House announced that $55 billion was being directed to Africa in the areas of health, climate change, trade and women’s initiatives – but the money was met with scorn by some.

Paul Kagame, the president of Rwanda, was asked earlier on Wednesday whether the 2014 summit yielded concrete results.

‘Well, at least we had a good meeting,’ he replied, to laughter from those assembled.

Biden’s outreach attempt was seen by many as a way of limiting the power of China, which has invested more in Africa than any other nation.

Beijing has held its own high-level meetings with African leaders every three years for over two decades.

Chinese trade with Africa is about four times that of the United States, and Beijing has become an important creditor by offering cheaper loans – often with opaque terms and collateral requirements – than Western lenders….

Da Afghanistan Bank, Afghanistan’s Taliban-controlled central bank, tweeted the images on Nov. 29, Dec. 5, Dec. 6, and last Wednesday: massive stacks of American hundred-dollar bills, wrapped in plastic, bar-coded, and placed in boxes or blue plastic bags on the tarmac at the Kabul airport. The bank said this was $40 million in “humanitarian aid,” but said nothing about who had sent it. One observer says that judging from the photos, there looks to be much more than $40 million flowing into the Taliban’s coffers. So who is funding the Taliban with tens of millions in untraceable cash?

The prime suspect, of course, is Old Joe Biden and his handlers, which may explain why it looks as if it’s more than a paltry forty million bucks. Dr. Anas Iqtait of the Centre of Arab and Islamic Studies at Australian National University, noting that “what is very clear is that it is not clear where this cash is being shipped from,” added that Da Bank’s photos looked to be of far more than that: “Especially on the runway, it may have been hundreds of millions of dollars.”

That’s how much Biden’s handlers have pledged to Taliban-controlled Afghanistan. On Aug. 31, 2021, Old Joe declared, “We will continue to support the Afghan people through diplomacy, international influence, and humanitarian aid.” Then in January 2022, National Security Council spokeswonk Emily Horne said proudly, “The United States is announcing a new contribution of more than $308 million in humanitarian assistance for the people of Afghanistan. This brings total US humanitarian aid in Afghanistan and for Afghan refugees in the region to nearly $782 million since October 2021, and we remain the single largest donor of humanitarian aid in Afghanistan.”

Biden’s handlers insisted that the Taliban would not get this money, but never adequately explained how it would be kept away from the group that has no significant challenges to its rule in 90% of the country. Da Afghanistan Bank insisted, however, that the money was going to unfortunate people in the country: “Any principled action that leads to the transfer of reserves to the country and helps the needy people of the society, the Da Afghanistan Bank appreciates it, and this bank will continue its efforts in strengthening the banking sector.”

That sounded fine, but the Australian Broadcasting Corporation pointed out that “the bank has not clarified where the cash is coming from, or what it meant by humanitarian aid, prompting concerns over financial transparency in Afghanistan.” Iqtait noted that Da Bank’s tweets have been “quite vague” about what exactly the money is for. “This is not money for humanitarian support,” he explained, “otherwise it would have gone through other destinations. Yes, the tweets say that, but … I think they are talking about how any humanitarian effort to support the Afghan people is welcome.” He also added that some governments around the world have “shown leniency towards the Taliban government,” but wouldn’t name any of the offenders, as if we didn’t know who they were.

The chief offender is Old Joe, but there’s also the UN, which, according to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, “has imported $US1.8 billion in cash to fund humanitarian operations in Afghanistan since December 2021.” This cash, according to a spokesman for the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), is “then credited to the respective AIB [Afghan International Bank] accounts of the various United Nations agencies, funds and programs and approved international humanitarian partners, non-government and international government organizations. In turn, the various organizations are able to use the funds, either in US dollars or converted to Afghanis as needed, in order to maintain their operations in the country.” The wonk added that “this cash transfer mechanism is essential for the day-to-day operations of UNAMA, United Nations agencies, funds and programs (UNICEF, UNHCR, WFP, UN Women, OCHA, UN Habitat, WHO, FAO, IOM and others) and other humanitarian partners.”

Counterintuitively, sending massive amounts in cash is supposed to “increase accountability, transparency and the effective use of aid, and manage risks including the risk of aid diversion.” The UN spokesperson did not, however, explain how handing out mad stacks of hundred dollars bills would do anything but decrease accountability and increase the risk of aid diversion. And for some reason, “the agency did not directly respond to a question asking if the cash in the central bank tweet was UN aid money.” Why not? What does anyone have to hide in all this?

Dr. Niamatullah Ibrahimi, whom the Australian Broadcasting Corporation identifies as “an international relations lecturer and Afghanistan expert from La Trobe University,” said that it would not be difficult at all for the Taliban to hijack this aid money: “The distribution and dispersal of the money is not very transparent. There is very little that we know about how this money is used in Afghanistan and the mechanisms of control over aid delivery.”

Indeed. But no one seems to mind, and the money just keeps flowing in. What could possibly go wrong?

Google Goes Full-On Racist, Will Start Marking the Race of Business Owners~Where is the Sherman Anti-Trust Act when you need it?

Remember the old “Whites Only/Colored Only” signs on water fountains and bathrooms in the old Jim Crow South? Thanks to Google, that kind of open, in-your-face racism is back with a vengeance. Google is so concerned that you are not racist that it is doing the most racist thing a major corporation has done at least since the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964: it is planning to mark the race of the owners of various businesses so that racists of all varieties can patronize only the stores of their favored group. Have Google’s far-Left ideologues really thought this through? If they really want to eradicate racism, this is just the way not to do it.

Jeremy Kauffman of LBRY.com tweeted Thursday that “Google has launched a new campaign called ‘Buy Black’ that encourages people to shop based on the race of the store owner. Stores in search and map results will be given icons indicating the race of the owner to make this easier.” Kauffman also pointed out that Google has been pushing this initiative hard for the last month: on Nov. 17, it published a video called “Buying All Black” and subtitled “A Google #BlackOwnedFriday Anthem,” featuring Ludacris and Flo Milli.

“We’re celebrating the third #BlackOwnedFriday,” Google announced happily, “with 70+ Black-owned businesses, a new track, and a block party in Atlanta. Join Ludacris and Flo Milli on their journey searching and shopping Black-owned, and then shop the 100+ products you’ll see throughout the video. Watch the music video, shop the products, and search to support Black-owned on Black Friday and every day.”

Great. That’ll eradicate racism, all right. What could be less racist than all the woke shoppers dutifully following Google’s lead and shunning businesses owned by white, Hispanic, Asian, and other people and buying only from black-owned businesses? There’s just one minuscule problem with this scenario: at least for now, white people are still allowed to use Google. White racists and white supremacists, you know, those people whom the Biden administration keeps telling us are the biggest terror threat that the nation faces today, can also use Google, at least until they’re finally all rounded up and sent to re-education camps. Until this problem is corrected, white racists can use the new Google race markings not to patronize, but to avoid black-owned businesses. For that matter, black racists can use Google’s new race tags to avoid white-owned businesses, but no one is worried about that, as that is exactly what Google wants.

Bull Connor or George Corley Wallace couldn’t have come up with a more ingenious scheme. Why in no time Google will have people choosing which business to patronize based on the race of the owner, and the country will become more divided and race-conscious than it has been since the worst days of Jim Crow. White racists won’t have to worry about black men sitting down at segregated lunch counters: they wouldn’t dream of doing so if the lunch counter in question is white-owned. No one will be sending Rosa Parks to the back of the bus, because she won’t be on the bus at all if the bus company is owned by people from Japan or Korea or Mexico or Italy, or France.

Google is setting us on the path to becoming a more racially striated society since the Supreme Court decided in Plessy v. Ferguson in 1896 that segregation was just fine. The Plessy decision said that the Fourteenth Amendment was “undoubtedly” meant “to enforce the absolute equality of the two races before the law,” but this didn’t mean integration, for “in the nature of things, it could not have been intended to abolish distinctions based upon color or to enforce social, as distinguished from political equality, or a commingling of the two races upon terms unsatisfactory to either.”

That’s what Google means to stamp out: “a commingling of the two races.” It finds the idea of black people patronizing white-owned businesses to be “terms” that are “unsatisfactory,” and therefore is doing all it can to help black racists be racist. In doing so, it is also helping white racists be racist. Google, in short, has become an active corrosive agent, working to dissolve the nation’s unity and pit American against American. Where is the Sherman Anti-Trust Act when you need it?

IRAN: The Mullahs’ Public Hangings~The depravity of the theocratic regime knows no bounds.

The depravity of the Iranian theocratic regime knows no bounds, as it has once again resorted to horrific acts of barbarity in an attempt to suppress the nationwide uprising, now into its 87^th day. The mullahs’ regime announced on December 12 that they had hanged a young protester in public in the city of Mashhad in northeastern Iran. Majidreza Rahnavard was publicly executed less than three weeks after his arrest for participating in anti-regime protests. Majidreza was hanged from a crane after being lifted slowly into the air and left kicking and struggling as he slowly asphyxiated. He was denied access to legal representation at his trial and severely tortured in prison, suffering a broken arm and other injuries. Afraid that signs of torture on his body would be exposed, the mullahs ordered Majidreza’s body to be buried in secret, without informing his family.

The medieval brutality of Majidreza Rahnavard’s public execution comes only days after the hanging of Mohsen Shekari, a 23-year-old student arrested during the ongoing protests, tortured into making a confession, then sentenced to death for the mullahs’ sham offense of “waging war against God.” The clerical regime’s resort to torture and execution as they attempt to quell the escalating revolution is testimony to their increasing panic and desperation as they try to cling to power. They are prepared to defy all legal norms and all basic human rights in their vicious retaliatory measures against their own people. The civilized world must hold them to account. More than 700 mostly young men and women have been murdered so far by the regime in their shoot-to-kill policy of confronting the protests. Over 30,000 have been arrested and many more death sentences will be carried out unless the civilized nations of the world intervene.

The execution of the two young protesters has clear echoes of the 1988 massacre of over 30,000 political prisoners in Iran, mostly young male and female supporters of the main democratic movement, the Mojahedin-e Khalq (MEK). They were executed on the orders of the psychotic Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini. Iran’s current president, Ebrahim Raisi, is known as ‘The Butcher of Tehran’ for his central role as one of the key members of a ’Death Commission’ that ordered the executions during that notorious massacre. Indeed, it was an order from Raisi to crack down on women who failed to adhere to strict, misogynistic dress codes, that led to the death in custody in September of Mahsa Amini, the young Kurdish girl murdered by the so-called morality police, for failing to wear her hijab properly. Mahsa Amini’s death sparked the nationwide uprising that has now entered its fourth consecutive month and is evolving rapidly into a full-scale revolution.

The current Supreme Leader, the elderly and delusional Ali Khamenei, has repeatedly blamed the MEK for instigating and coordinating the insurrection and is clearly determined, like his predecessor, to have recourse to the public execution of political prisoners as a gruesome warning to Iran’s incensed 85 million population, that their protests will be met by certain death. It is a major miscalculation. For every death of a protester, the public has become more enraged. The crowds chant slogans such as: “Death to Khamenei,” “Death to the dictator,” “Bloodthirsty Khamenei, we will bury you,” and “Khamenei is a murderer, his rule is null and void.” The chants have become more radical, calling for the complete overthrow of the regime, as the mostly young protesters have taken to the streets in over 280 cities in Iran. Sick of four decades of repression that has culminated in soaring inflation, increasing unemployment, systematic corruption, discrimination, and human rights abuse, the population of Iran has signaled enough is enough. The active participation of Kurds, Balochis, Turks, and other national minorities of Iran is an important aspect of the insurrection. They have been chanting “From Kurdistan to Tehran, I will sacrifice my life for Iran”, “From Zahedan to Tehran, I will sacrifice my life for Iran”, and “Shi’ites and Sunnis are brothers who hate the leader to death.”

Students, including thousands of young women from almost all of Iran’s universities, have joined the nationwide insurrection. The main universities are either on strike or, despite repressive measures by the security forces, stage regular demonstrations. They have been joined in solidarity by primary and high school pupils and by shop owners, bazaar merchants, workers, and other traders. Truck drivers have taken industrial action across Iran, crippling the already broken economy. The mullahs’ regime is at its weakest point and its demise is imminent.

The UN Security Council, the US, and the EU must take immediate action to prevent further acts of barbarism by the fascist, theocratic regime. Rhetoric is not enough. It is now incumbent on the international community to express its outrage and prevent yet more crimes against humanity. They must not hide behind a wall of silence. Tough action is necessary. Iran’s embassies should be closed, and their diplomats expelled. The Ministry of Intelligence & Security (MOIS) and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) should be placed on terrorist blacklists. The increasingly fanatical and vicious Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and his cohorts must be held to account for crimes against humanity and made to face trial in the international courts. Above all, the West must stand up and be counted. Tehran’s depravity can no longer be tolerated. The West must show their support for the people of Iran, together with their courageous MEK Resistance Units, who are spearheading the insurrection.

Monica Crowley: Thank you very much, Ned, for that fantastic introduction. I really appreciate it, and I have to say, I thought we’d have more cause for celebration today, but it is so wonderful to be in a room like this with so many fellow patriots who all think the same way and all have the same passion for this country and rescuing her before it’s too late, so it is a true honor and blessing for me to be here with all of you today.

I also want to thank the legendary, iconic David Horowitz. Can we give him a round of applause? David is not here with us, but he spends every waking moment trying to rescue America as relentlessly as the left tries to destroy her. He is a true hero of this republic, and I’m so honored to call him my friend.

I also want to thank Michael Finch and Elizabeth Ruiz, who are also forces of nature. You guys are absolutely amazing for what you do, and everybody at the Horowitz Freedom Center, for putting on this event every year and bringing us all together to celebrate America and strategize on how to bring her back.

I also want to thank all of you for coming every year and for caring enough about your country to make this trip and listen to all of us talk about how we can bring America back, so you’re all heroes of the republic as well.

So I want to — there are a lot of things that I want to cover today, and I want to start with a Tweet that I literally just sent out about an hour ago — also, if you’re not following me on Twitter, you’re missing out, because my Twitter is hot. Here’s what I Tweeted literally, like, about 90 minutes ago, and it already has nearly 5,000 likes. “This is the final stage of the hijacking of America. It’s been underway for decades. Now we need leaders who: 1) get it, 2) aren’t in on it, 3) have the stones — I used a slightly saucier term on my Tweet — have the stones “to confront, stop and destroy it. That’s it.” That is the framing for everything I am going to talk to you about today, okay?

First, let’s take one step back from about four days ago. So going into the midterm election, I was all over Fox News, Fox [indiscernible], my podcast, talking about how this midterm election needed to be more than just a message election. It needed to be more than a red-wave election. It needed to be even more than a red tsunami election. I talked about how this election, for the Democrats, needed to be an extinction-level event. Unfortunately, it didn’t materialize that way, now did it?

So let’s start with a couple of the bright spots, and then I’m going to take you back and up 30,000 feet. The bright spots from Tuesday are really significant and should not be overlooked. Florida, Florida, Florida. I know a lot of you are old enough to remember the year 2000 with Bush v. Gore. Florida was a swing state. It was a purple state. And it all came down to 537 votes in Palm Beach County. A lot of you might remember that. So Florida was the crossroads for the Electoral College for any presidential candidate to get there. So was Ohio. Remember Ohio, with Tim Russert talking about Ohio as a swing state? The good news is that both of those heavyweight states are now deep red states, and that is something to applaud and something to cheer. Ron DeSantis obviously is a juggernaut. He is the most effective and best governor in the country. And for those of you living in Florida, you are blessed. I live in New York, so pray for me. I need your prayers big time. Another four years of Kathy Hochul makes me want to tear my hair out.

So I think if and when Kari Lake prevails in this state — we’re sitting at ground zero right now. I’m going to talk about her in a couple of minutes here, too, in a different context. But when she becomes governor, she’s going to give Ron DeSantis a real run for his money in terms of being the best and most effective, component governor in the country. She’ll be the DeSantis of the West.

When you take a step back, too, and you look at what happened in Florida, DeSantis did almost the impossible. There are 67 counties in the state of Florida; he won all of them but five, and he did, also, another miraculous thing in that he flipped deep blue Miami-Dade County. Astonishing. Absolutely astonishing. And he did it with Latino voters. And I know the left is out there trying to say, well, that’s a separate case because it’s mostly Cuban voters, and I realize the Latino vote is multidimensional, but he did it through competence. He did it by delivering for his people and focusing on that. So flipping those voters in deep blue areas is really a model that I think every Republican candidate from here on out should be emulating, and will.

When you take a step back and look at the national picture, Republicans won the national vote — and I realize there was no federal election, no president at the top of the ticket, but when you look at the overall national vote, Republicans won the national vote by four to five points, which tracked with what the polling was telling us when you looked at the generic ballot polling. It showed Republicans winning by four to six points, and that’s exactly how it fell into line. The difference is that it fell in line not necessarily in the areas that we needed it to fall in line.

Latino vote: 58%. Staggering. Staggering. One of the big untold stories over the last couple of years is the movement of Latino voters toward the GOP. The black vote was 14% for the Republican party. Now, before you say, 14%, that’s nothing — well, in the scheme of things, yeah, out of 100%, but when you’re starting from the black vote at 7% to 9% and now you’re scoring 14% of the black vote, that is huge.

So there are some positive trend lines that are not to be discounted. I know we’re all a little disappointed here, and a little dispirited by the underwhelming nature and disappointing performance overall, especially with the balance in Washington, which is yet to be decided, but don’t overlook the positive trends going on in the country. There are some real silver linings here.

Okay. Now that that’s out of the way, I want to go back to get us to understand how we got to this moment in this country. All of this, and David Horowitz knows this better than anybody because he was trained in it, everything you’re seeing right now, and we are actually living through a neo-Marxist revolution in this country. It’s not fought with guns. It’s not Vladimir Lenin coming off the train at Finland Station. It’s a lot softer and more insidious than that. But make no mistake; that is exactly what this is.

How did we get here? In the 1930s, this actually began as a KGB operation. The KGB in Moscow realized the United States was the existential threat to the Soviet Union, and they hatched a plan to overthrow us. And the plan was to confront the United States in, like, a full frontal way, and when they realized that that wasn’t going to work because our Constitution and our people are so strong and durable, well, they switched gears.

World War II intervened and we were essentially on the same side to defeat Hitler, but then come the 1950s. The KGB decided to switch tactics, and they decided, instead of coming at the U.S. in a full frontal way, the Soviet Union was going to change its approach and defeat us from within. And the way they decided to do it, which was ingenious — they recognized that democracies, because we’re so open, and because our leaders are accountable, that we’re a soft target. And so they came to this country with operatives and they decided that they were going to seize control over the three main pillars of American society and life. They grabbed control of academia, and they started at the university level, and now if you have children or grandchildren, it’s all the way down to the nursery-school level that they’re indoctrinating your children. They started with that. Then, news media, and the culture: movies, television, and music. They infiltrated this country from underneath and grabbed control of these pillars.

And once they had control, they ran with it. Of course, they had millions of what Lenin once called useful idiots, college kids, people who don’t know any better, and people who are, like, easily — have impressions put on their psyche in a very easy kind of way, to be their armies, to amplify exactly what they were doing. And the communists understood that this was a long-term project, okay? They knew that the hijacking of America would not happen overnight. It would be a long-term project over many decades. So what you’re seeing now is sort of the tail end of this slow-motion revolution so as not to attract too much attention over the years. Communists are very patient. They’re very patient until the moment that they’re not, and that’s when the guns come out, and that’s why they want you disarmed.

But it was a very, very smart strategy because the rest of us have spent the last couple of decades working, building our careers, raising our families, and being normal. And we’ve all been asleep at the wheel, except for people like David Horowitz, who’s been blowing the whistle on this for a very long time. He saw it because he was in it.

But now, we are at a tipping point. I use the analogy of a house — I don’t know if any of you have had the misfortunate of having a house beset by termites. I hope you haven’t because it’s a nightmare. But what you notice with an infestation of termites is that a wooden structure looks fine for a really long time, while those termites are burrowing in and eating away at the wooden foundation and all of the wood — they spend years chipping away, chipping away, chipping away. And to the naked eye, that structure looks just fine, until one day it collapses on itself.

That’s what they have been doing, and we are now close to that tipping point where that structure, the structure of the United States of America, is about to collapse in on itself. They are so close to their goal. That’s why they’re not going to change. Did you notice — Biden was asked two days ago at his press conference, he was asked, are you going to change course in any way? He said, no, I’m not going to change a thing. Of course, he’s not going to change a thing.

Guys, Barack Obama was the final push of a smooth, well-dressed, articulate, highly educated, charismatic communist. Those eight years fundamentally transformed the nation — in Obama’s words, not mine. Hillary Clinton was supposed to lock it in for the next eight years. Donald Trump was never supposed to be elected President. They caught — he caught them flatfooted, and they have vowed, never again. That’s why you’re seeing what you’re seeing now; brace yourself for ’24, because never again are they going to be caught unawares, by Donald Trump or Ron DeSantis or whomever the nominee is. Forget it. They have their eyes on a much bigger prize.

And so everything you have seen under Biden and the Democrats in Congress is geared toward that goal. They are making up lost time, those four years of lost time under Donald Trump. That’s what they’re doing. Any normal president would have changed course by now, right? Just out of sheer — the desire for sheer political survival. This president hasn’t changed one bit, and neither have the Democrats. Why? Because they’re moving with all deliberate speed toward that ultimate goal.

When Obama said that, when he talked about the fundamental transformation of the nation, nobody stopped to think, what does he mean by that? Nobody stopped to say, hey, what — I mean, I did, and I got a lot of slings and arrows for it. But nobody thought, well, what exactly — what’s the objective here? And now we know. The objective is toward a neo-Marxist kind of state, and I’m going to get to that here in just a second. That means that everybody who stands in their way and represents an existential threat to them and to this grand project needs to be destroyed.

I just did an hour-long with Tucker Carlson for Tucker Carlson Today, and we sat down, and it had occurred to me — this point occurred to me probably about eight weeks ago, and I texted Tucker. I said, this just dawned on me, and I think we need to talk about it. And he wrote me back right away, and he goes, this is brilliant. You need to come to my show and talk about it. The existential threats to the forces in this country that control the actual power — we vote and vote and vote, and nothing changes, why? Because the real power resides with permanent Washington, the deep state, the administrative state. However you want to call it. And they’ve got the propaganda press to amplify their mission. That’s where the real power in this country resides, not with us. Not anymore. And so if you represent that kind of existential threat to their absolute grip on power and their grand project, they will destroy you.

And I thought back to my first boss, President Nixon, with whom I worked in the last years of his life — I was not born when he was elected President, just to be clear. It is the same enemy. The forces that destroyed Richard Nixon are the exact same forces that are trying to destroy Donald Trump. And yes, people die, and they move on, and I’m not talking about individuals. I’m talking about the institutional enemies of freedom in this country.

Richard Nixon, in his second term, was going to do what Donald Trump began to do, which is smash the stranglehold of power on the entire elite ruling class. He — at that time, there were only three networks. He was going to have Walter Annenberg, who was the richest man in the country at the time, buy ABC, NBC, or CBS to turn it into, like, a Fox News kind of entity so at least we had some balance. He had all of these plans, including reforming the entire executive branch, which Daniel Patrick Moynihan said needs to be done every 20 or 25 years because the corruption and the rot get in, and it’s almost impossible to fix.

Look at what we’re dealing with now: the weaponization of our own government against us is the biggest threat we face. Not China, not Iran. Those are serious threats, don’t get me wrong, but the weaponization of our own government against us is the most existential threat we face. And that’s why Moynihan said, every 20 or 25 years, you need a wholesale reform of the executive branch so you don’t get that kind of corruption and deep, entrenched rot.

And you know the last time we had real reform? Around JFK, 1960. Something like that. So no wonder the corruption is so deep. Went after Nixon, and got his scalp; that emboldened them. And from that point on — now we’ve got a 50-year arc of success of the deep state targeting the people who are genuinely out there fighting for the country, and all of us. Richard Nixon to Donald Trump and every existential threat in between. Think about it. Robert Bork — now that I’m saying it, it’s starting to click, right? Robert Bork, Clarence Thomas, Ronald Reagan with Iran-Contra. They didn’t get him, but George W. Bush, a war criminal. They had thousands of people in the streets over the Iraq War, remember? Isn’t it all falling into place now that I’m putting it together? The deep state will go after anybody and try to destroy them. They’ve had some successes, some not, but they are relentless. And that includes Kari Lake right here. She is an existential threat to them because she is not afraid of them and can’t be controlled by them, and that’s why they have pulled out all the stops to try to destroy her as well.

So this is what we’re up against here, and this — I mean, look, Trump — I don’t know what he’s going to do. They have thrown the kitchen sink at this man over the last six years to try to stop him. It’s a miracle he is still standing, okay? But they — and when I say kitchen sink, I even mean the pandemic and the global lockdowns. They shut down the global economy to stop one man.

So all of this brings us to today, where we are, and how they’re doing everything to keep their grand project going and stop it from being interrupted. What we saw in 2020, and what we just saw, which I can’t believe, but it’s still happening, but you guys need to understand, there is a difference between votes and ballots, okay? The left has now understood this for quite a while, but our side is still too thick to get it, or at least the leadership, and I’m going to get to the leadership here in a minute. A vote is, you get a ballot, you fill it out, you feed it through the machine, and you put it in the box. That is your vote. Ballots are what come packaged in shrink wrap, as I saw in New York City, a stack, this week, of ballots, that in the shrink wrap are then sent off to Democratic operatives and harvested, either filled out illegally or harvested from nursing homes, rehab facilities, wherever you want. They’re harvested by the tens, if not hundreds of thousands, and then pushed into the system. So the left understands votes versus ballots. Our side hasn’t gotten that yet. Hopefully, now we’ve got it, but two cycles in are inexcusable.

So mass mail-in voting, and I know others over the weekend have been talking about this, but mass mail-in voting, ballot harvesting, ballot curing, early voting. They leveraged this COVID pandemic to slam into place all of these things, and I don’t know what came first, the pandemic or the objective to tilt our elections and stop Donald Trump, among others, or vice versa. I don’t know. But I will say that they leveraged it 100% to gain greater control over our elections.

They’ve also conditioned people to accept these new rules as a convenience. Oh, just mail it in. You don’t have to even leave your home. Not a big deal. They’ve conditioned people throughout the pandemic to think that their freedom is selfish, and now they’ve convinced everybody that mail-in balloting, early voting, is a convenience. Again, this is what we’re up against. This is how they rig elections.

You also need to keep in mind that they on the left have been doing this for decades. This did not just start in 2020 or this election cycle. As I mentioned, I worked with President Nixon during the last years of his life; we often talked about the 1960 Presidential election, Nixon versus JFK. In that particular election, Nixon was leading. He was the sitting Vice President. He was leading. Kennedy was obviously very charismatic. But it came to Nixon’s attention on Election Day, 1960, that the old man Kennedy was orchestrating voter fraud in three areas of the country: Illinois — Illinois used to be a swing state. Hopefully, we’ll get it back there, but — in Illinois, West Virginia, and Texas, with the help of Lyndon Johnson.

On election night, in 1960, Richard Nixon was handed concrete evidence — concrete evidence — of voter and election manipulation and fraud going on in those three locations. Do you know how they did it? Remember those old voting machines where you’d go in and you’d pull the lever, and the curtain would go back, and then you’d go to vote, and you’d pull down the metal levers? Well, in those three areas, here’s how they pulled off the fraud. They rigged the machines so that if you went in and voted for Mr. Kennedy, in the back it would go down for Mr. Kennedy. If you walked in and voted for Mr. Nixon, both levers went down. So every single person walking in was voting for Kennedy even when they weren’t.

Richard Nixon showed that evidence on election night and encouraged them to put a stop to it, stop the counting, and order a recount, Richard Nixon said no. He said, this country is fighting a Cold War with the Soviet Union, and it needs a full-time president. So no, I’m not going to do that, and he fell on his sword. Of course, Richard Nixon gets zero credit for that, like he gets zero credit for most other things, not unlike Donald Trump. All the good that they do. But that selfless act is very important to keep in mind.

But the bigger point here is that they have been rigging and gaming the system for over 60 years. They have elevated it to an art and a science. It doesn’t have to be stealing the election; they’re rigging it in legal ways, and again, other people have talked about this here. But they’ve now brought it into the 21st century, and we are still operating with a 20th-century mentality.

I want to raise another really big existential thing that’s going on here, because I’ve been thinking about this a lot over the last couple of years, and I’ve been trying to put words to it, and I’m going to relate it to you now, and again, I’m not sure that I’m going to state it in the most articulate way, but I want to get the concept of this out there.

There may be, in this country now, because of all these decades of indoctrination — do you know, by the way, that in this last election, every age demographic group voted Republican except for voters under 30, who voted for the Democrats by 28 points? So again, this is about getting to the kids and indoctrinating them, okay?

But I really want to make this much bigger point, that we may now have a critical mass of liberal or leftist voters for whom their political ideology is a theology. It’s a religious belief. This is essentially what communism is, right? Communism bans God so that you worship the state. It’s economic Marxism. It’s cultural Marxism. Take control of the economy, take control of the culture. Remember what I said about how they infiltrated, starting in the 1950s, and grabbed control? This is exactly what’s happened.

And what they have always understood — this relates to big tech and free speech and Twitter and all the issues that we’re talking about now — they have always understood, control the language, control the narrative; control the narrative, control behavior; control behavior, control the population. And to that, I would add, take control of the children, control the future. This has all been based on worshipping the state. So of course the logical next step of that is that there are false gods everywhere, from political leaders — Stacey Abrams, Beto O’Rourke, thank God that they’ve gone down in flames. But you notice how the left elevates Barack Obama, Stacey Abrams, and Beto O’Rourke as gods. These are false gods in their religion. To the false god of Mother Earth in climate change, right? So this is all about worshipping false gods in the name of worshipping the state.

Also, ask no questions about any of this, or you will pay the price. In previous tyrannies, if you asked any questions, it was off with your head or off to the gulag. Now, it’s get fired or be canceled. This is the modern version of being erased from society.

Now, for the voters who worship at this altar, this religion comes first. They believe it, and they serve it with the fervor of any religion. It’s a passionate, unquestioning, secular faith, is what we’re up against here, okay? This is a deep-seated, emotional belief system for them.

So listen carefully here: While we are over here talking about concrete issues affecting every single American, like every Republican ran on this time, we’re over here talking about the economy, inflation, gas prices, jobs, the open border, the flood of illegals, guns, fentanyl, crime, cities in collapse, mandates — we’re over here having this conversation, and at the same time, the other side is over here not registering any of that because they are in a secular, spiritual rapture, okay?

Some of the world’s worst tyrants have understood the power of infusing politics with religious fervor. And they’ve killed hundreds of millions of people by doing that. This is their way of indoctrinating and controlling the masses, and it’s also a way of keeping a very tight grip on power. Our side is out here talking policy and their side is in a tent revival. We’re not even on the same field. We’re like two ships passing in the night.

And their voters — and if you take away anything that I say today, take this away and learn it and absorb it — their voters, because they treat politics as a theology, will blindly vote against their own rational interests and for the theology regardless of the conditions the theology produces: inflation, gas prices, crime, open border. It doesn’t matter to someone who is following in blind faith to a theology. Again, they will vote against their rational interests in service of their religious political faith, regardless of the consequences that rain down on their own heads. Unfortunately, it affects the rest of us in the country, too. But you need to understand how they’re approaching things. When you’re tearing your hair out, as we were at our table talking about New York and LA, how could people keep voting for this? This is how they keep voting for it, because their mindset, their soul is literally in a completely different place. That’s why traditional campaign appeals to economic or otherwise commonsense reality don’t work. This is a spiritual war.

So what is there to do? I want to leave you with a couple of really positive elements. I know this has been kind of heavy. So let’s end on a couple of positive notes. What can we do? Well, first is recognizing that this is a long battle, and I know we have been through so much, even just in the last three years, with COVID and vaccines and shutdowns and the 2020 election and BLM and Antifa and the country’s just burning down. It is too much for the average psyche to take. It really is. I completely understand that. But we also have to understand that this is a long battle, the way the left has long understood that this is a long battle.

This is not going to be solved with one or two election cycles. And it’s certainly not going to be solved by any particular political savior. We all have to stop looking for political saviors. We want good, effective leaders who can take us to the next step and help us save the country, but in the end, it’s up to us. The left has been at this a long time, and as I said, they are deeply entrenched, so it is going to take all of us over several generations, I think, to really make this commitment, and the hour is already very late. But we need to recognize that.

Number two, we’ve got to get on top of these new election rules. Seventeen states during COVID changed their election rules for those mass mail-in balloting, early voting, drop boxes, ballot harvesting, and the rest. Only nine states have turned back to where they were pre-COVID, so you have all of these states with all of these rules on the books, and the left, very effectively, took Election Day and made it election season, so it’s election season. They have a four- to six-week — depending on where you are — four- to six-week running start on us, sending out ballots, mobilizing their base, and getting the ballots — not the votes — the ballots into the system.

So we all — I don’t know how many of you do, but I always vote on Election Day because I don’t want to give them that running start. But by the time we’re going to the polls on Election Day, it’s almost irrelevant now. Because they have spent the last four to six weeks prior banking hundreds of thousands of votes, long before there are debates. This is why the left is always like, I’ll debate on November 3, right? Because they know — look at Fetterman. I mean, they elected a drooling invalid. Why? Because they had 650,000 votes banked before that debate.

And by the way, the left loves senile, weak, stupid, and infirm candidates. Why? Because they’re more easily controlled. They like malleable puppets. They love Joe Biden. They love John Fetterman. And by the way, Fetterman will be — and I’m going to say it here first — John Fetterman will be a U.S. Senator for a respectable amount of time — I would say, three to six months, and then you are going to have U.S. Senator Gisele Fetterman. Gisele Fetterman is a radical Marxist revolutionary. President Nixon used to say to me, you know, Monica, the male communists that I dealt with, very tough, Brezhnev, Chairman Mao, but the women in communist systems are much harder, much more hardcore than the men ever were. So you’re going to have Madame Mao representing Pennsylvania in the U.S. Senate, and that’s going to come sooner rather than later, mark my words.

So we’ve got to get a handle on this. You know, Saul Alinsky said, for the left, one of his many pieces of advice for Marxist revolutionaries, was don’t function in the world as you would like it to be; function in the world as it is, and then change it from within. Again, what the communists have done for decades here. But instead of our side functioning in this world as we would like it to be — oh, everybody’s voting on Election Day. No, that’s not what’s going on. Deal in reality and fix it. And the idea that we have now been through two election cycles and this is still not fixed, and there are people out there blaming Donald Trump for this? Donald Trump has not been in power in two years and somehow this is his fault? No. The people who are at fault here are the Mc leadership, okay? McConnell, McCarthy, and McDaniel. We need to bounce all of them, because if nothing changes there, nothing changes, period.

The second thing we can do is get involved locally. And I know I talked about this last year. Do you know that George Soros, in this last election cycle, Soros spent over $200 million to elect more district attorneys across the country, and do you know, they all won? They all won. So you think crime in America is bad now? Wait. Just wait. But why? Why, Monica? Why are all these people letting out violent criminals? Do you know the history of communism? One of the very first things they do when they seize power is empty all the jails. Why? They want the violent mayhem in the streets. If you’re afraid for your own life, you’re not focused on what they’re doing. They need the violent chaos. That’s what’s going on. So get involved locally.

School boards, in particular, the local offices — a little piece of good news about school boards. There was a red undercurrent in state and local education offices this time. Conservatives flipped school boards in Michigan and Maryland, and also in Minnesota, and this comes on the heels of last year we saw school boards flipping in San Francisco, New York, Illinois, and other deep blue areas. So we are making a lot of progress there. But it needs all of us to get involved at the local level as well.

It’s what Edmund Burke called our “little platoons,” schools, churches, and communities. Used to be the bedrock of American society, right? We need to get back to all of that. Because remember, it’s not a coincidence that they used the virus as an excuse to shut those places. Schools, churches in particular.

The culture, as our friend Andrew Breitbart famously said, “politics is downstream from culture.” So whenever you can support cultural things that are on our side. I put a lot of folks on my podcasts, like Antonio Sabato Jr., who has got a conservative movie studio, conservative books, and documentaries — support them because Hollywood only pays attention to money. Support those things with your wallets and send a huge signal that we have, also, the power to change our culture.

And finally, you know, I mentioned that this is a spiritual war. So my last piece of advice is, no matter what your faith or un-faith is, I would just recommend to everybody that we’re at a really pivotal moment, and to keep God first place. I think — thank you. The other side, as I said, worships the state. We choose to worship God. And I know which side I want to be on. I want to be on his side because he always wins. And he is in the battle with us. But we have to make sure that we keep him central because after all, God is the ultimate warrior for human freedom because he gave us human freedom.

So as President Nixon used to say, buck up. He used to say that to me all the time. Buck up, kiddo. I’ll never forget, when Bill Clinton was elected in 1992, I went in to see President Nixon, and I was like, how could this country not vote for a World War II veteran in Bob Dole? How could they have elected this scumbag Bill Clinton? And President Nixon kind of looked at me and he smiled, and he said, Monica — although I can’t do it the way Rich Little can do it, he said, Monica, this country is very strong. We’ve had some good presidents and some not-so-good presidents, and we’ve survived it all. And we will survive Bill Clinton. And he used to tell me to buck up.

So I will tell you to buck up, but the situation 30 years later is worse than it was when Nixon said we will survive it. We are at an existential pivot point right now and we need everybody on deck. So be of good heart, because the founders gave us this beautiful, strong system of human liberty, and we’re not going to be the first generation to let down the Founding Fathers and disappoint them by letting this country slip beneath the waves. No way, no how, and we’re going to do it as happy warriors.

As the Taliban were taking over Afghanistan, I predicted that Biden would fund the Taliban using “humanitarian aid” as a pretext. Since then, Biden has provided $1.1 billion in Afghan aid.

Despite assurances that the money would not go to the terrorists, the Biden administration issued global licenses authorizing financial transactions with the Taliban and the Al Qaeda-allied Haqqani Network that include the “delivery and provision of humanitarian aid”.

Biden looted $3.5 billion from money awarded to the families of 9/11 victims in a lawsuit against the Taliban and put in a “trust fund” to provide “humanitarian aid”. His DOJ then went to court arguing that the judgment for the victims was too large and that it interfered with the Biden administration’s foreign policy in Afghanistan.

Now an Australian Broadcasting Corporation report has revealed massive stacks of hundred-dollar bills sitting on the tarmac at Kabul International Airport. ABC noted that “the picture is just one of several images of United States $100 notes boxed, bagged, or bound in plastic, posted on Twitter by the Taliban-controlled central bank of Afghanistan in recent weeks.”

ABC quoted an expert who suggested that there was a lot more than $40 million in the shipment.

“Especially on the runway, it may have been hundreds of millions of dollars,” he said.

A day earlier the bank had announced that it “wants to auction up to (14) million US dollars”.

The purpose of such dollar auctions is to stabilize the value of the ‘Afghani’, the country’s currency, against the dollar. The “humanitarian aid” here appears to consist of millions of dollars being shipped into a terrorist state to prop up its otherwise worthless currency.

The bank claims to have received “humanitarian aid” of $40 million in hundred-dollar bills. And the bank described it as the second shipment of cash that had arrived in one week.

Overall this is the third such shipment amounting to $120 million.

The exact origin of the money is unclear, but the packaging is in English and that together with the currency, suggests that it’s either being sent by the Biden administration or with its consent.

A previous shipment of $40 million in August showed bags of cash being flown in through Ariana Afghan Airlines, which had been used to fly Al Qaeda terrorists, drugs, and guns, but has been subsidized to charter hostage evacuation flights by the Biden administration.

In the intervening months, it has yet to be clarified where all this cash is actually coming from.

The one thing that is abundantly clear is that the concept of humanitarian aid has been perverted into massive shipments of money into terrorist zones, in violation of sanctions, without even the pretense that the money is buying food, medicine, or anything we associate with aid.

Propping up Afghanistan’s economy by providing it with a ready supply of cash has been reinterpreted as humanitarian aid when it’s actually foreign aid. But the Biden administration does not want to admit that it’s providing terrorists with massive amounts of foreign aid.

There’s nothing that Biden won’t do for the Taliban that he won’t classify as humanitarian aid.

In November, Front Page Magazine exclusively revealed that the Biden administration had been working to enable the Taliban to print money. The Biden administration admitted that it was “working hard with international banks to facilitate payment transfers from Afghanistan’s central bank to European printing companies where new banknotes would actually be produced” to “replace what had been crumbling banknotes in Afghanistan.”

What else is the Biden administration moving to the Taliban?

Not only Front Page Magazine or members of Congress, but even the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction can’t get any answers.

The State Department and Samantha Power’s USAID have gone so far as to order their personnel to refuse to cooperate with audits of their Afghanistan spending. State and USAID stonewalled the inspector general’s office, refusing to reveal “funding information regarding its ongoing programs in Afghanistan, citing ongoing consultation with its legal counsel”.

The special inspector general’s office revealed that USAID and the Treasury Department “refused to cooperate… in any capacity.”

In December, Rep. McCaul sent yet another letter to Secretary of State Blinken, Power and Treasury Secretary Yellen, warning that their refusal to cooperate with the special inspector general’s office “is a flagrant violation of the law and part of a lengthy pattern of obstruction by the Biden Administration”.

One of the stonewalled audits, according to a letter from the inspector general’s office to Samantha Power, “evaluates your agencies’ compliance with the laws and regulations prohibiting transfers of funds to members of the Taliban and the Haqqani Network.”

If USAID were in compliance with laws on transferring money to terrorists, it wouldn’t be refusing to cooperate with an audit. Every new revelation about the terror cash pipeline makes the administration look worse. The latest Afghanistan watchdog report strongly suggested that the Taliban had gotten access to $57 million sent to the Afghan government before the fall.

“Once the money was transferred, US agencies lost visibility over those funds and relied on the Afghan government to disburse funds for their intended purposes,” the report warned.

But that $57 million pales in comparison to the over $1 billion in Afghanistan aid.

All of this is happening even as the Taliban are openly using sharia punishments and abusing women. The myth of a kinder, gentler Taliban has fallen apart, but the money keeps coming.

And that’s not all.

A “high-level delegation” that included a top CIA figure met with the Taliban and agreed not to “fund any armed groups or non-state actors in the country”, particularly the Northern Alliance members who had originally helped us liberate Afghanistan.

What if anything has the Taliban offered in exchange for agreeing to betray our allies?

That’s one of the many unanswered questions about what Biden is doing in Afghanistan. The disastrous retreat could look like a comedy of errors, but it’s looking less accidental all the time.

An explosive conclusion to be drawn from its aftermath is that the Biden administration had set out to enable a Taliban takeover and then to prop it up using financial, military, and political mechanisms. The stonewalling and the cover-ups, which include trying to classify every substantive congressional briefing, paint a much darker picture of a hidden agenda.

Over a decade ago, Obama set out to topple most of our allies in the Middle East and replace their governments with brutal Islamist tyrannies dedicated to the same values as the Taliban.

His old staffers appear to be continuing Obama’s work in Afghanistan.

We Knew Joe Biden Was a Big Liar, but This Is Ridiculous

Politicians frequently lie, but Old Joe Biden’s career record is clear: He makes Josef Goebbels look honest. Biden is such a massive liar that it’s unclear whether or not he has ever told the truth in an entire lifetime of grift and corruption. On Friday afternoon, however, Biden outdid himself, appearing at the Delaware Veteran’s Summit and telling so many outrageous lies about his career and his family that if he were a conservative, establishment media “fact checkers” would have died of exhaustion. It’s lucky for them that whenever Old Joe speaks, they take the day off.

Biden claimed that when he was elected vice president in 2008, his father contacted him and asked him to finagle a Purple Heart for his brother, Biden’s uncle Frank. Biden said, “You know, I — my dad, when I got elected Vice President, he said, ‘Joey, Uncle Frank fought in the Battle of the Bulge.’ He was not feeling very well now — not because of the Battle of the Bulge. But he said, ‘And he won the Purple Heart. And he never received it. He never — he never got it. Do you think you could help him get it? We’ll surprise him.’”

The incoming vice president was, of course, happy to get his uncle the recognition he deserved, however belatedly: “So we got him the Purple Heart. He had won it in the Battle of the Bulge. And I remember he came over to the house, and I came out, and he said, ‘Present it to him, okay?’ We had the family there.” Get your handkerchief ready. Biden continued, “I said, ‘Uncle Frank, you won this. And I want to…’ He said, ‘I don’t want the damn thing.’” The crowd laughed, and Biden plowed on: “No, I’m serious. He said, ‘I don’t want it.’ I said, ‘What’s the matter, Uncle Frank? You earned it.’ He said, ‘Yeah, but the others died. The others died. I lived. I don’t want it.’” Biden then attempted to bring his story into the present and initially missed by fifty years: “Just like a generation — this generation in Vietnam — excuse me, in — in Iraq.”

Anyway, what a noble soul was Uncle Frank Biden, eh? There’s just one problem: Frank Biden died in 1999, and Biden’s father, Joe Biden Sr., died in 2002. Yet the putative president claims that this incident took place in 2008, and it hinges upon Vice President Joe, as the national second banana, being able to pull strings to get his uncle the Purple Heart. Maybe this happened years earlier than Biden said it did, and he was pulling strings as a senator rather than as vice president, or maybe it never happened at all.

The latter seems more likely. According to the New York Post, a registry of recipients of the Purple Heart doesn’t include the name Frank Biden, and when Frank died, his obituary contained no mention of his having won this honor. Also, the story is suspiciously similar to one Biden was fond of telling in 2019. He was in Afghanistan as vice president, Biden claimed, to honor a Navy captain who had “rappelled down a 60-foot ravine under fire and retrieved the body of an American comrade, carrying him on his back.” Biden said that when he tried to pin a Silver Star on the captain, “he said, ‘Sir, I don’t want the damn thing! Do not pin it on me, Sir! Please, Sir. Do not do that! He died. He died.” Biden concluded, “This is the God’s truth. My word as a Biden.”

But it wasn’t, of course. Even the Washington Post, ordinarily a tenacious purveyor of Leftist propaganda, stated, “Except almost every detail in the story appears to be incorrect. Based on interviews with more than a dozen U.S. troops, their commanders, and Biden campaign officials, it appears as though the former vice president has jumbled elements of at least three actual events into one story of bravery, compassion, and regret that never happened.”

The Frank Biden story wasn’t Old Joe’s only lie on Friday. He also claimed, “And, you know, I think that there’s a — I’ve been in and out — not as a, obviously, combatant — but in and out of Afghanistan and Iraq and these areas 38, 39 times as — not as President, only twice as President, but from the time I was a senator, but particularly when I was Vice President.” This was a slight rollback of his claim during his State of the Union address: “I’ve been in and out of Iraq and Afghanistan over 40 times.” In 2019, he said, I’ve been in and out of Afghanistan and Iraq over 30 times.” According to the Washington Post, “his campaign later clarified that the correct number is 21.” Also, he has never visited Afghanistan or Iraq as president.

Joe Biden has made it abundantly clear that he is unprincipled, untrustworthy, and unscrupulous. His faux presidency will be remembered as one of the darkest periods of American history. We can only hope that the damage he leaves behind him will not be completely irreversible.

Amy Grant is the queen of contemporary Christian music and known for hits like “Baby Baby,” “Breath of Heaven,” and “Find A Way.” She is also known for being one of many CCM artists who is seriously compromised spiritually. Her position on the issue of homosexuality and transgenderism has been well documented as not biblical, but recently she dialed this up to eleven.

Earlier this week, Amy Grant was receiving honors from the Kennedy Center which declared her the queen of Christian music in an award ceremony. In a similar fashion to wanting to be liked by the world, Amy Grant did an interview with the Washington Post.

She told the Washington Post that she plans to host a homosexual wedding at her and her husband’s farm.

She told the Washington Post:

The word “welcome” comes up frequently when talking to Grant. In recent years, she has voiced support for the LGBTQ community, where she has had a large fan base for decades. Now, she talks about her and Gill’s plans to host her niece’s wedding at their farm, which is her family’s “first bride and bride” nuptials. Grant recalls her reaction when she learned her niece had come out: What a gift to our whole family to just widen the experience of our whole family.

“Honestly, from a faith perspective, I do always say, ‘Jesus, you just narrowed it down to two things: love God and love each other,’ ” Grant said. “I mean, hey — that’s pretty simple.”

For a Christian to attend a homosexual wedding is to participate in the celebration of what God declares abominable. Amy Grant goes a step further and is hosting the event. While it is unclear whether she is also performing at the event, her approval of the event is on record and was first volunteered to a pagan media outlet. While this development may not be all that surprising, it is disappointing.

Defrocked Priest Responds to Vatican, Isn't Backing Down: 'We're Not Going Anywhere'

A well-known Catholic priest who has for decades been a prominent figure in the pro-life movement has been defrocked by the Vatican. Frank Pavone, the 63-year-old founder of Priests For Life, a high-profile, pro-life organization, was purportedly removed from the priesthood Nov. 9 with no chance for an appeal. The Vatican made the shocking move after charges Pavone is guilty of "blasphemous communications on social media" and "persistent disobedience" in communications with his bishop, USA Today reported. The startling story of Pavone's laicization broke after Catholic News Agency reviewed a letter reportedly sent to U.S. bishops from Archbishop Christophe Pierre, Vatican ambassador to the United States, detailing the dismissal. Pavone joined CBN's Faithwire to discuss the matter and to proclaim he has no plans to stop his pro-life work. Here's what he had to say.

Frank Pavone, who leads the advocacy group Priests for Life and was once a spiritual advisor to Donald Trump when he was president, has been removed from the priesthood by the Vatican.

No specifics of why Pavone was defrocked have been given by the Vatican, but Pavone has frequently clashed with his superiors over some of the language he has used in his social media postings.

A letter from the papal nuncio to the United States, Archbishop Christophe Pierre, to Pavone informing him of the action — called “laicization” — was vague. “This action was taken after Father Pavone was found guilty in canonical proceedings of blasphemous communications on social media, and of persistent disobedience of the lawful instructions of his diocesan bishop,” it states.

Pierre may have been talking about a tweet from 2020 that included some very unpriestly characterizations. In it, Pavone referred to “supporters of this goddamn loser Biden and his morally corrupt, America-hating, God-hating Democrat party.”

The letter from the papal nuncio in the U.S. was addressed to the bishops, alerting them of the decision.

The New York Times:

The statement said that Mr. Pavone was given “ample opportunity to defend himself” as well as “multiple opportunities to submit himself to the authority of his diocesan bishop.”

“It was determined that Father Pavone had no reasonable justification for his actions,” it says.

The statement said the future of Mr. Pavone’s role at Priests for Life would be entirely up to the group, which it described as “not a Catholic organization.”

“As you will know, Father Pavone was a very public and high-profile figure associated with the Right to Life Movement in the U.S.,” Archbishop Pierre states. “His dismissal from the clerical state may, therefore, be a matter of interest among the faithful.

Pavone promised to keep fighting.

And Pavone has legions of supporters, including consecrated bishops.

It’s difficult to unpack the politics of the Vatican because so much happens behind the curtains. But we can speculate that Pope Francis himself either approved the decision or stepped aside to allow it to happen. Priests don’t get defrocked every day, and a well-known priest like Frank Pavone must have transgressed beyond a few curses on Twitter to force the hand of the Holy Father and receive the ultimate priestly punishment.

It may very well have been that Pavone was too loud in his opposition to abortion. Francis is trying to keep the Catholic Church in America from tearing itself apart over abortion. In the U.S., as in some western countries, the church’s anti-abortion activism has led to a split between pro-life and pro-abortion camps that are being fought from the top down. From the Conference of Catholic Bishops to the smallest parish, there are divisions that have roiled the church.

Pavone won’t be silenced, which begs the question of why Pope Francis and Pavone’s enemies wanted to defrock him in the first place. All they’ve done is raise his profile and turn him into a martyr.

And that will surely help his cause going forward.
