BELLEVUE, WA – -(AmmoLand.com)-The Second Amendment Foundation today filed a federal lawsuit against the State of New Jersey, challenging the state’s new gun control law prohibiting licensed concealed carry in an expanded list of so-called “sensitive places,” and further criminalizes carrying an operable handgun “while in a vehicle.”

Joining SAF are the Firearms Policy Coalition, the Coalition of New Jersey Firearm Owners, and the New Jersey Second Amendment Society, along with three private citizens, Nicholas Gaudio, Jeffrey M. Muller, and Ronald Koons. The plaintiffs are represented by attorney David D. Jensen, David Jensen PLLC, of Beacon, N.Y.

The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. The case is known as Koons et al v. Reynolds et al.

Named as defendants are Atlantic County Prosecutor William Reynolds, Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. Macaulay, Sussex County Prosecutor Annemarie Taggart, New Jersey Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin, and State Police Supt. Patrick Callahan, in their official capacities.

Shortly after New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy signed the new legislation on Dec. 22, SAF and its partners quickly filed the lawsuit.

“We are asking for a declaratory judgment against certain tenets of the new legislation,” explained SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb. “We are also seeking a preliminary and/or permanent injunction restraining the defendants and their officers, agents and other employees from enforcing the challenged segments of the law.

“The specific sections of law violate the right to bear arms protected by the Second Amendment,” he continued. “There is no established historical tradition that could be used to justify these restrictions. This new legislation literally criminalizes licensed concealed carry just about everywhere, making a mockery of the right to bear arms protected by the Second Amendment.”

“New Jersey’s Legislature and Governor have shown that they do not wish to heed the Supreme Court’s guidance as to the bounds of the right to bear arms in Bruen,” said SAF’s Executive Director Adam Kraut.

“Despite clear directives as to a citizens’ right to bear arms, New Jersey continues to thumb its nose at the constitutional rights of its citizens in the name of ‘safety’. Such disregard for the rights of New Jerseyans will not be tolerated. As such, we are seeking to vindicate the rights of our members and the public in an expeditious manner. It is a shame the elected officials of New Jersey have no respect for the enumerated rights of the People and continue to needlessly waste their state’s tax dollars passing unconstitutional laws which render the common person defenseless.”

American Journal of Medicine: Belief in Freedom Can Hurt You

One way to hoodwink the populace into accepting ever-increasing control by the omnibenevolent and all-seeing federal government is to convince them that freedom and autonomy are bad for you. But surely Leftists wouldn’t stoop that low, would they? Sure they would. PJM’s Ben Bartee had the story on Saturday: the American Journal of Medicine has published a preposterous new study warning that “distrust of the government” and “a belief in freedom” are liable to get you killed. Get back in line, sheep! Don’t put your lives on the line chasing after freedom! Slavery is so much safer!

This errant nonsense was actually published this month in the American Journal of Medicine, proving yet again that academic study in the United States has become irremediably politicized and open to cultural and intellectual fads. An honest investigation of a controverted issue, leading to the acknowledgment of unwelcome truths, is vanishingly rare. The pretext for pushing slavery on Americans is, once again, the COVID-19 vaccine. According to Fortune magazine, this study claims to prove that “if you passed on getting the COVID vaccine, you might be a lot more likely to get into a car crash.”

The study asserts that “unvaccinated people were 72% more likely to be involved in a severe traffic crash — in which at least one person was transported to the hospital — than those who were vaccinated. That’s similar to the increased risk of car crashes for people with sleep apnea, though only about half that of people who abuse alcohol.”

Does the vaccine somehow improve your eyesight and coordination, so that you can more easily get out of scrapes while driving? Oh, nothing like that. Unvaccinated people are more likely to wreck their cars because they’re the sort of people who don’t obey the rules. The study speculates that people who are so headstrong and stubborn as to resist getting a vaccine that is causing young people in perfect health suddenly to drop dead might also “neglect basic road safety guidelines.”

Now, who in his right mind would get behind the wheel and neglect basic safety guidelines? Incorrigible lovers of freedom, of course: “Why would they ignore the rules of the road? Distrust of the government, a belief in freedom, misconceptions of daily risks, ‘faith in natural protection,’ ‘antipathy toward regulation,’ poverty, misinformation, a lack of resources, and personal beliefs are potential reasons proposed by the authors.”

So actually the study is all about why you should be a good conformist and do whatever the government tells you to do, no matter what the obvious risks may be.

This ridiculous and superstitious propaganda is frankly fascist in its warning against “a belief in freedom,” and it’s all designed to sell a shoddy and dangerous product to the weak and gullible. Epoch Times recently released a video entitled “Over 5,000 Cases of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS): Doctors Trying to Determine Why Young People Suddenly Dying.” It features Dr. Michael Ackerman, “a Mayo Clinic genetic cardiologist and the president of the Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome (SADS) Foundation,” who explains “how COVID and the vaccine affect heart conditions in people under 35.”

Related: The FDA Wants You to Forget It Told ‘Y’all’ to Stop Taking Horse Dewormer

Epoch Times also reported on Dec. 8 that “A major new autopsy report has found that three people who died unexpectedly at home with no pre-existing disease shortly after COVID vaccination were likely killed by the vaccine. A further two deaths were found to be possibly due to the vaccine.” Meanwhile, in Germany, “newly released insurance data for 72 million people shows that unexpected deaths have been skyrocketing since the end of 2020. The number of sudden deaths has more than doubled since late 2020, jumping from about 6,000 per quarter to 14,000 currently.” And “officials in Australia are raising the alarm as the country’s excess deaths have soared to an ‘incredibly high’ rate.”

A genuine study has found that “based on passive surveillance reporting in the US, the risk of myocarditis after receiving mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccines was increased across multiple age and sex strata and was highest after the second vaccination dose in adolescent males and young men.”

Why do the researchers and academics who wrote the unvaccinated/car crash study, and the American Journal of Medicine that published it, want people to take this dangerous drug? That remains a mystery, although there is likely a profit motive involved along the way. In any case, this study illustrates yet again that some people will believe anything. P. T. Barnum famously said, “There’s a sucker born every minute.” Even old Barnum likely never expected that the august American Journal of Medicine would take his words to heart.

In Iran, So Many of the Murdered Turn Out to Be ‘Suicides’

More than 500 people have so far been murdered by the monstrous regime of killers in Iran in the first three months of the nationwide protests. “500 people” who need to be remembered, as individuals, by their names, and the true circumstances of their deaths. A handful of their stories are here: “Doctor Treating Protesters In Iran Dies In Suspicious Circumstances,” by Maryam Sinaee, Iran International, December 18, 2022:

Claims by Iranian officials that a female doctor who died with unusual injuries committed “suicide” has sparked suspicions of yet another death in custody.

The family of Dr. Aida Rostami were contacted by the local police the day after her disappearance, December 12, a source close to the family told Iran Wire Friday and that she had died in a car accident. The police said the body was at the morgue of Behesht-e Zahra Cemetery in the south of the capital Tehran….

The source also said medical examiners told the family, apparently in confidence, that she was not killed in a car accident, as the police had told the family, but that they were ordered not to reveal the true cause of death.

Sources close to the family have said when they insisted to view the body, they saw various injuries and bruises, including on her genitals, and broken arms. The lids of one of the eyes of the young doctor were stitched together, apparently to conceal the removal of the eyeball.

Think of the tortures Dr. Aida Rostami endured, including the loss of an eyeball, gouged out by her torturers before they finally killed her.

Judiciary authorities are now offering a completely different account of the circumstances of the young doctor’s death and have arrested a young man who they claim is suspected of throwing Dr. Rostami to her death from a pedestrian overpass after a quarrel over their relationship.

State media on Sunday published a video of the unnamed man who claimed Rostami was his girlfriend and that she had thrown herself from a pedestrian bridge after he left her and that he returned to find her body on the ground.

Like the “car accident” story, the Iranians have been declaring that many of the people, especially girls and women, have been murdered as “suicides.” In the case of Dr. Rostami, two new versions of her death were on offer. At first, she threw herself off a bridge when she was jilted by her boyfriend. In the second, now favored by the authorities, she was killed by a former boyfriend, who on camera admitted – no doubt under threats from the regime to follow the assigned script – that he had thrown her off a bridge. But that story doesn’t explain the bruises around her genitals, nor her empty eye socket.

Donya Farhadi, an architecture student, whose body was recently found, was a protester.

Authorities have explained the death of several young protesters in the past three months in similar ways, including the suspicious deaths of two teenagers in Tehran and Karaj in late September and early October. Authorities claimed Nika Shakarami and Sarina Esmailzadeh had both jumped to their deaths from the top of buildings.

Many of the deaths have been similarly ascribed to suicide by jumping off the tops of buildings. This allows the injuries inflicted by their torturers to be ascribed to the impact of their fall.

The death of Aylar Haqqi (Haghi), a 23-year-old medical student, whose body was found in a construction site in Tabriz on November 15, was also explained in the same way [suicide], although her relatives claim she was shot with shotgun pellets before her injured body was thrown down from the top of a building on the site.

The relatives examine the corpses and, despite being told to keep silent, in their grief and rage, they reveal the truth. In the case of Aylar Haqqi, they found evidence she had been hit with shotgun pellets, and then, injured but still alive, she was thrown from the top of a building at a construction site.

Families or sources close to the families of these young women have all said they were subjected to pressure and intimidation by security and intelligence forces who wanted them to validate their “scripted” accounts of their deaths.

The families of the murdered girls and women are pressured — threatened — to accept the “received versions” of their daughters/sisters/mothers/wives’ deaths as “suicides.” Many do not comply. They are now beyond fear.

On Friday another young woman’s body was found on the banks of Karoun River in a village near Ahvaz in southwest Iran by the locals. Authorities claim Donya Farhadi, a twenty-one-year-old student had fallen into the river from a bridge. Local sources have said on social media that the young woman was an active participant in the recent student protests.

One more variant: Donya Farhadi was apparently tossed into a river to drown (before or after torture is not specified); her death was ascribed to her as an accidental “falling from a bridge” rather than suicide.

Dr Rostami, 36, was last heard of on the evening of December 12 when she called her mother to say she was on her way to a wounded protester she was secretly treating and needed to buy more medical supplies.

A busy medical doctor, in the midst of treating wounded protesters who need her desperately, and going on an errand to buy more medical supplies, does not fit anyone’s profile of a candidate for suicide.

An informed source told Iran International that Dr Rostami had been secretly treating protesters who feared arrest if they sought treatment for injuries and bullet wounds at hospitals, where agents usually wait to arrest protesters.

All these claimed “suicides” – these inexplicable falls from bridges and the tops of buildings – are undoubtedly murders by the Basij. All of these young women who supposedly committed suicide were in the midst of protesting themselves, or of treating the wounds of others who were protesters; they were in an exalted state of mind, the very opposite of depression, finally rebelling by the hundreds of thousands against the Iranian theocracy that has blighted so many lives. Each new “suicide” announced by officials in Tehran draws ever more scorn and fury at their attempts to hide their murders.

Germany: Islam critic Michael Stürzenberger recounts what happened when a Muslim attacked him as police stood by

At our last rally of the year in Bonn on Saturday, I got a punch on the head from a Muslim. Before that, he took a “Palestine” flag out of his jacket. View the video of the attack:

Here are the scenes before that. At minute 4:01, the Muslim comes into the picture and confronts me:

I reported on the egg-throwing and other objects at our recent rallies in Gladbeck and Leipzig, and the misconduct of the local police. He waited, and I thought, he is patient and wants to know something.

At minute 19:10, he asked me if I would take a breath before I speak. Then he said he had been looking for me all along and wanted to know what I wanted anyway if I wanted to get rich. I answered I want a ban on political Islam. He asked for a second time if I wanted to get rich. I answered that he probably didn’t know who he was dealing with: in front of him is a member of the reestablished White Rose, which is fighting against political Islam. We want to make the country safe.

Then he hit me in the face. It was a heavy blow, but fortunately, I have no serious injuries other than a facial bruise and a headache, plus momentary lightheadedness and physical weakness. Initial research revealed that he is probably an amateur kickboxer. The aide who was standing next to me received two slaps in the face and fell down. He now has tinnitus in his ear, two wounds on his face, and bruises on his leg.

Meanwhile, it seems that the Hamburg court is obviously in a hurry to put me in prison, and the deadline is already set for the beginning of next year.

After Nominating Antisemitic Ambassador, Biden Condemns Antisemitism

“The Jewish factor, it’s money.”

Good news from the White House. Biden courageously condemns all antisemitism not involving him, his political allies, or, his political movement.

“Silence is complicity,” Biden said in remarks at the event Monday night, referring to rising antisemitism. “I will not be silent. America will not be silent.”

Last week, Biden formed a new interagency group to develop a national strategy to combat antisemitism. The president also called out “political leaders” who have not strongly denounced antisemitism, saying that their “silence is complicity,” in comments earlier this month.

Also, despite condemnations from Jewish groups, Biden nominated this antisemite as ambassador to Brazil.

Elizabeth Frawley Bagley, in a 1998 interview, a full copy of which was obtained by the Free Beacon, bemoaned “the influence of the Jewish lobby because there is major money involved.” She went on to claim “the Democrats always tend to go with the Jewish constituency on Israel and say stupid things, like moving the capital to Jerusalem always comes up.” Support for these Israel-related issues are due to “the Jewish factor, it’s money.”

Silence may or may not be complicity, but nominating an antisemite is definitely complicity.

The media carefully avoided covering the story with a handful of exceptions. After some initial pushback in the Senate, the White House doubled down and got her through. Why? Well just look at her bio.

Ambassador Bagley has been an early and active supporter of VP Biden’s presidential campaign. She served at the top level of the Biden Finance Council, was Co-Chair of Catholics for Biden, and a member of the foreign policy working group on Europe, Ambassadors for Biden, Women for Biden, and Lawyers for Biden. She also served as a surrogate speaker in Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina and was a Florida poll watcher with the Biden Voter Protection team.

Bagley did everything besides tie Biden’s shoes. And Biden is complicit. Just as he is with Rep. Ilhan Omar, Rep. Rashida Tlaib, and a whole host of antisemites in his party.

America’s Mom Sherronna Bishop Encounters Unconstitutional FBI Home Invasion

When constitutional conservative Sherronna Bishop stepped into the freedom ring to protect her children from harmful government policies, the FBI used a battering ram to bust down her front door. Known as America’s Mom, Sherronna got involved in politics after her children’s school was conducting mental health evaluations without getting parental consent and teaching graphic Comprehensive Sex Education. She shared her concern with the school board and the Department of Justice (DOJ) retaliated by weaponizing the FBI to carry out fear and intimidation tactics to try to silence her. However, Sherronna fought back and is educating people about their God-given constitutional rights which are never suspended even during a “pandemic.”

Texas National Guard Deploys Razor Wire, Military Vehicles on Border Near El Paso

National Guard and state troopers are blocking migrants at the border in El Paso

On Tuesday, the Texas National Guard’s 36th Infantry Division began deploying personnel, military vehicles, and concertina wire (aka razor wire) on the state’s border with Mexico in an attempt to slow down illegal immigration, which has significantly increased since the Biden administration was put in charge in 2021. The deployment is largely confined to the El Paso area.

The deployment seems to be, at least in part, a reaction to El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser’s declaration of December 17, in which the city declared that it “is faced with the imminent threat of widespread injury or loss of life resulting from a surge in transient migrants traveling to the region.”

In addition, on November 15, Texas Governor Greg Abbott invoked invasion clauses of the U.S. and Texas Constitutions and hinted such actions by the Texas National Guard might take place in response to the influx of illegal immigrants absent any federal assistance, which has been lacking during the Biden administration.

Abbott called out the Biden administration for its lackadaisical attitude where the border is concerned.

“President Biden will go anywhere … except the border,” Abbott tweeted. “Texas communities are bearing the burden of Biden’s open border policies. As the federal government does nothing, we continue to step up to secure our border.”

Article IV, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution states: “The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them from Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic violence.”

And Article 1, Section 10, Clause 3 states that “No State shall, without the Consent of Congress, lay any Duty of Tonnage, keep Troops, or Ships of War in time of Peace, enter into any Agreement or Compact with another State, or with a foreign Power, or engage in War, unless actually invaded, or in such imminent Danger as will not admit delay.” (Emphasis added.)

Texas and Arizona in particular believe that they are in “such imminent Danger.” President Biden has been invited many times to observe the situation but, thus far, has declined.

As Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich recently told popular commentator Tim Pool’s TimCast program, “The reality is, if you look at Article 1, Section 10 of the U.S. Constitution, you look at Article 4, the Section 4 of the Constitution, I mean, the states have a right to defend themselves, and the federal government has an obligation to defend the states against an invasion.”

“And when they do not do so, the governors of the respective states acting as essentially commander-in-chiefs of their states can order their militia [to] mobilize their national guard to fight or repel that invasion,” the Arizona AG concluded.

Title 42, a provision of federal law that allows the federal government to keep aliens from entering the country to prevent communicable diseases, was set to end this week, which prompted a huge number of migrants to gather in the dangerous Mexican border city of Juárez. The U.S. Border Patrol has been deluged for two years now, and state governments are finally getting the message that the federal government will not help.

At least one Texas judge believes that the Texas National Guard has overstepped its bounds as it pertains to the border situation.

“I am very confident that it was not coordinated with Border Patrol,” said El Paso County Judge Ricardo Samaniego. “I have always insisted that any assistance from the state has to be part of our overall strategy and in lockstep with our own enforcement strategy.”

Despite Washington’s ambivalence, the situation at the southern border is quite dangerous to American citizens, and also to the immigrants who look to cross the U.S. border.

“I’m concerned for the safety and welfare of the migrants but the cartels are not,” Major General Win Burkett told the New York Post.

Burkett commands 500 Texas National Guard troops at the border and believes that drug cartels are taking advantage of the confusing situation.

“[The drug cartels] are exploiting this migrant surge so that they can have unimpeded access to the border,” Burkett said. “Our message to the migrants is that this is not safe. There have been drownings every day of people crossing the river at Eagle Pass where the water is deep, and there is a high risk of hypothermia as the temperature drops.”

The deployment of razor wire, military vehicles, and armed personnel on the border lies directly at the feet of the Biden administration, which seems to be actively working against any border control rather than enforcing it. States such as Texas now have no other option than to deal with the situation on their own or simply allow themselves to be invaded.

And it’s not “anti-immigrant” or “racist” to say so.

Taliban Forbids University Education for Afghan Girls, U.S. Slams Decision

SINGAPORE — Afghanistan’s Taliban rulers have forbidden university education for women throughout the country, eliciting criticism from the United States and the UN.

Despite international protests and pledging a more lenient rule when they took control of the country in 2021, the Taliban has increased the number of restrictions on all facets of women’s lives.

“You all are informed to immediately implement the mentioned order of suspending the education of females until further notice,” Minister for Higher Education Neda Mohammad Nadeem said in a letter sent to all government and private universities.

The ministry’s spokesman, Ziaullah Hashimi, who published the letter on Twitter, confirmed the order in a text message to Agence France-Presse (AFP).

Washington slammed the decision “in the strongest terms.”

“The Taliban cannot expect to be a legitimate member of the international community until they respect the rights of all in Afghanistan. This decision will come with consequences for the Taliban,” said Secretary of State Antony Blinken. “No country can thrive when half of its population is held back.”

UN Secretary-General António Guterres was “deeply alarmed” by the ban, his spokesman said on Tuesday. “The secretary-general reiterates that the denial of education not only violates the equal rights of women and girls but will have a devastating impact on the country’s future,” said Stephane Dujarric.

The prohibition on higher education comes less than three months after thousands of women took university entrance examinations nationwide, with many hoping to select teaching and medicine as future careers when the universities reopen in March, following the winter break.

After the seizure of the country by the Taliban, universities were required to enforce new rules such as gender-segregated classrooms and entrances. Only female professors or old men could teach female students.

Journalism student Madina, who wanted only her first name published, tried to grapple with the ramifications of Tuesday’s national order.

“I have nothing to say. Not only me but all my friends have no words to express our feelings,” the 18-year-old told AFP in Kabul. “Everyone is thinking about the unknown future ahead of them. They buried our dreams.”

The country was reverting to “dark days,” added medicine student “Rhea” in the capital, who asked that her real name not be divulged. “When we were hoping to make progress, they are removing us from society,” the 26-year-old said.

The Taliban adheres to a strict version of Islam, with the movement’s supreme leader Hibatullah Akhundzada and his inner circle of Afghan clerics being against modern education, especially for girls and women.

However, many officials in Kabul and among the rank and file oppose the latest move by the Taliban, as the former hoped girls would be permitted to continue learning following the takeover. “There are serious differences in the Taliban ranks on girls’ education, and the latest decision will increase these differences,” a Taliban commander based in northwest Pakistan told AFP on condition of anonymity.

In March, the Taliban stopped girls from returning to secondary schools, drastically restricting university intake.

While some Taliban officials claim the secondary education ban is only temporary, they have provided many excuses to prolong the prohibition — from a scarcity of funds to the duration needed to align the syllabus to Islamic lines.

Since the ban, many teenage girls have been married off early — often to much older men of their father’s choosing. Several families interviewed by AFP in November said that coupled with economic pressure, the school ban meant that guaranteeing their daughters’ future through marriage was better than them sitting idly at home.

Women have also been forced out of many government jobs or are being paid a reduced salary to stay at home. They are also banned from traveling without a male relative; must cover up outside the home, ideally with a burqa; and in November were banned from going to parks, funfairs, gyms, and public baths.

In response, the international community has made the right to education for all women a topic of discussion over aid and acknowledgement of the Taliban regime.

“The international community has not and will not forget Afghan women and girls,” the UN Security Council said in September.

However, Pakistan, Afghanistan’s neighbor, said on Tuesday that engagement with the Taliban was still the best path forward. “I’m disappointed by the decision that was taken today,” Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said on a visit to Washington. However, he continued, “I still think the easiest path to our goal — despite having a lot of setbacks when it comes to women’s education and other things — is through Kabul and through the interim government.”

In the two decades between the Taliban’s reigns, girls were permitted to go to school and women were able to seek jobs in all sectors, though the country remained socially conservative.

In Kabul, where the country’s largest universities are located, female students convened outside campuses, wearing the black cloaks and tight headscarves imposed by the Taliban.

Elsewhere, students sought consolation from friends and family as they came to terms with news of the university ban. “We all felt like caged birds, we hugged each other, screamed, and cried ‘why is this happening to us?'” said Amini, a 23-year-old nursing student in Kunduz.

She was with her three sisters — two already banned from secondary school and another studying for a degree — when social media erupted with the news of the late-night order.

Facilities across the country were already shut for the winter break, but students had been able to go to campuses for examinations or to study in libraries. In Kandahar, the cradle and spiritual heart of the Taliban movement, male students were able to sit for examinations in classrooms still separated by screens, which until the day before made it possible for women to study.

After the order, however, the university gates shut female students out.

“My sister is studying computer science…. I didn’t inform her last night. I know she would be traumatized,” said a young male law student in Kabul, who asked not to be named for fear of the Taliban. “It really expresses (the Taliban’s) illiteracy and poor knowledge of Islam and human rights. If the situation continues like this, the future will be worse. Everyone is scared.”

“We have no power to do anything and there is no one to listen to us,” said one 29-year-old female, who is pursuing a master’s in Pashto literature in Kabul.

“We can’t protest, we are hopeless. In every aspect of life we are doomed,” she continued. “We don’t have jobs, we can’t go anywhere, and we can’t leave the country. We have lost everything.”

Although devastated, she still has a glimmer of hope that the Taliban — whose restrictions on women are escalating — will scale back on their decision after the winter break. “We will wait for the next three months to see if they change their order. They might change their policies and restart the universities.”

In the eastern city of Jalalabad, some male students walked out of their examinations to oppose the decision. The female student encouraged men to stop attending classes altogether in protest if the Taliban does not relent. “They too must stay at home until the girls are allowed to go back,” she pleaded.

Notably, the authorities have reverted to public floggings and executions of men and women in recent weeks as they enforce a strict interpretation of Islamic sharia law.
