The “transgender” clinic that British authorities shut down last week didn’t just rush kids into life-changing medical treatment. It also prescribed dangerous, life-altering puberty blockers after meeting a child just one time.

The National Health Service closed the Tavistock Clinic after a report deemed it “not safe,” and revealed that the facility offered “transition” treatment without fully examining the mental health of the patients. But London’s Telegraph has revealed that the health unit’s headshrinkers weren’t just too “reaffirming” too quickly when a kid showed up to say he or she was the “wrong” gender. Doctors began pumping kids with puberty blockers immediately.

One doctor said the clinic terribly mutilated or otherwise changed kids for life.

“Huge Damage”

“After the NHS announced that it was closing down the clinic amid safety fears, whistleblowers revealed the haste with which young people were placed on a medical pathway,” the Telegraph revealed:

Dr Hilary Cass, who is leading a review of the service, has warned that the drugs could prompt the “rewiring of neural circuits” and affect parts of the brain responsible for decision-making and judgment.

Such is the danger from the drugs that Tory political candidates say they want to restrict their use, the newspaper reported.

Parents say that isn’t enough. The government “must ban the drugs for use in treating gender dysphoria over concerns about the life-long damage that they are causing.”

Worse still, concerns about the clinic go back “two decades” and were ignored, as was Dr. David Bell. He “blew the whistle on practices at the clinic in a report in 2018” because Tavistock had “failed” children and “done huge damage.”

“That means there’s a growing group of detransitioners, who will not go anywhere near the Tavistock and will not go anywhere near the NHS actually because they feel so terribly let down,” he told the Telegraph:

“These were kids who said I’m a girl or I’m a boy and they were affirmed. They took the drugs and they went to opposite sex hormones and they had parts of their body removed, their breasts, their vaginas. Now, as one girl put it to me, ‘I don’t have the body of a man, I’ve got the body of a mutilated woman and that’s what I have to live with.’”

Dr Bell said that he was aware of one child who was referred for puberty blockers after just one session while the “regime” was four to six hour-long appointments which he described as a “ludicrously few number.”

He said that the bar for prescribing puberty blockers should be “very, very, very, very much higher. It may be possible, in one or two cases, that it has to be done, but the way they’ve been used is totally inappropriate.”

Another employee “raised concerns” in 2004.

Yet instead of stopping the drug and surgical mutilations completely, NHS has transferred “treatment” to other facilities.

Horror Story

That won’t satisfy parents. The Telegraph told the story of a mom whose daughter “transitioned” and received a double mastectomy at 18:

Her daughter, then 14, said on her first appointment she wanted puberty blockers but was told that she would have to have four sessions first. She was referred to an adult gender identity clinic, which offers cross sex hormones and in some cases surgery, when she was 17.

“I felt that the Tavistock was just going through a tick box exercise, they asked questions like, ‘what toys did you play with as a child?’” she said. “What difference does that make?”

Leftist media reports suggest that the clinic closed because of “delays” in treatment, a common complaint about England’s socialist National Health Service. Truth is, authorities closed the clinic because it was mutilating patients for life.

Last week, the Daily Mail revealed the sad story of Ritchie Herron, whose “life over the past four years has become almost unbearable. It takes him ten minutes to empty his bladder, a process as painful as it is slow. Any sex drive is long gone. In fact, he says, his crotch is numb, ‘shell-shocked’ from the damage done to him under the apparent care of the NHS”:

Battling mental health issues — and after decades of suppressing his homosexuality — Ritchie, 35, had thought the answer was to become a woman. But instead, he says, he was fast-tracked into making “the biggest mistake of his life” and left infertile, incontinent and with ongoing pain.

Not only had the NHS clinic failed to take into account his spiralling mental health crisis, he claims, but it had also failed to properly counsel him about the risks.

Herron’s isn’t the only sad tale. Keira Bell is suing the NHS for the butchery that began when she was 16.

The number of “transgender” cases the NHS treats has risen from 6,371 in 2016 to more than 11,000 today, an increase largely driven by “transgender” activists pushing their ideology on social media.

Frighteningly, the No. 2 health official in the United States is a man who thinks he is a woman and wants kids on puberty blockers.

The Lethal Indoctrination of Children in Palestinian Education: How UNRWA-run schools incubate anti-Semitism and terror.

Richard L. Cravatts, Ph.D., a Freedom Center Journalism Fellow in Academic Free Speech and President Emeritus of Scholars for Peace in the Middle East, is the author of the forthcoming The Slow Death of the University: How Radicalism, Israel Hatred, and Race Obsession are Destroying Academia.

Signaling yet another unfortunate reversal of Trump-era policies, President Biden was in Bethlehem in the West Bank on July 15th to affirm U.S. support for the long-aggrieved Palestinians.

During that meeting with PA President Mahmoud Abbas, Biden suggested that “Palestinian refugees deserve to live in dignity, to see their basic needs addressed, and to have hope for the future,” and one remedy for their condition, of course, is U.S. aid, namely, “an additional $201 million for the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) to continue delivering critical services to Palestinian refugees in the West Bank, Gaza, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria.”

UNRWA, the UN’s division dedicated solely to the Palestinian refugees, has been the subject of much scrutiny and criticism, which is why in 2018 the Trump administration eliminated further funding for the controversial agency. That approach was a good step, since UNRWA, established when some 400,000-700,000 Palestinians were made refugees with the founding of Israel, has perversely served as a political and diplomatic tactic by which the hapless Palestinians have languished stateless, as if in amber, used as a hammer with which to bludgeon Israel by blaming the Jewish state for the condition in which these refugees, including millions of the descendants of the original refugees, now find themselves. The slavish attention paid to this particular group of refugees suggests that their importance is based on the symbolic import of their existence as Israel’s victims, thus the budgetary and organizational commitment to UNRWA’s operations.

Specifically, UNRWA employs some 30,000 people to tend to the needs of only 5.7 million people identified as Palestinian refugees (or 190 refugees for every employee) while The U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees, the division responsible for every other refugee in the world, some 59 million people, has only 18,000 employees (3277 refugees for every employee).

Maintaining the Palestinian refugee problem as a scab on the Middle East’s body politic is UNRWA’s principal role, but its influence on Palestinian culture and society is also profound, particularly since some 58% of its $1 billion annual budget is allocated to education programs. While its education mission statement purports to offer children a “quality education for Palestine refugees . . . for the teaching and learning of human rights, conflict resolution, and tolerance,” UNRWA’s schools have been shown to be incubators of hatred where Palestinian children are taught to loathe Zionism, Israelis, and Jews, to question the very existence and legitimacy of the Jewish state, to justify jihad and terror against Israel, to strive for martyrdom in the name of jihad, and to commit to a life of resistance, aggression, and terror against the alleged criminal Zionist regime.

This indoctrination, marinating Palestinian children in hatred from kindergarten through high school, has had obvious and tragic long-term effects on Palestinian culture and society. Children inculcated with hatred of Jews, Zionism, and Israel unsurprisingly develop into adults fully committed to jihad to avenge alleged wrongs against Palestine and Islam, explaining why, for example, in 2019 the Palestinians spent $343 million of the foreign aid showered upon them to pay terrorists who had murdered Jews and their the families gruesome bounties in a “pay to slay” program to effect the “liberation” of Palestine. It may also help explain why, as a survey by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) revealed, over 90% of Palestinians harbor anti-Semitic beliefs, and the Middle East at large is the most anti-Semitic region in the world.

How UNRWA’s schools are used in the indoctrination process of Palestinian children is revealed quite clearly in a study just released in July by IMPACT-se, “Review of 2022 UNRWA-Produced Study Materials in the Palestinian Territories: Selected Examples.”  The report audited textbooks used in UNRWA schools and found that children are being taught a false narrative that makes them the perennial victim of a usurping colonial occupier, the defiling Jew, and that liberation can only be obtained through a prolonged struggle and “resistance” to occupation—in fact, to the very existence of Jewish sovereignty in a sea of Muslim territory—is mandatory for all Muslims and that terror, and martyrdom, are an integral and noble part of the effort.

A text for grade 5, “Hurray for Heroes,” the report notes as one example, “praises Palestinian militant figures such as Izz al-Din al-Qassam and Dalal Mughrabi, known for leading violent operations against Jewish civilians; both are presented as positive role models. The UNRWA material requires students to read the text and identify the Palestinian ‘heroes,’ while suggesting: ‘we all hope to be like those heroes.’”

A UNRWA booklet designed to teach numbers to grade 3 students directs “them to a specific exercise in a PA math textbook which asks students to choose the correct number of martyrs in the First Intifada from a list of suggested numbers,” martyrdom, of course, considered to be a noble aspiration. Eighth-grade study cards reinforce this same perverse aspiration, “featuring themes of jihad, martyrdom, prison, and conflict. Such examples include phrases like ‘Jihad is one of the doors to Paradise’; ‘The Palestinians have become an example of sacrifice’; ‘The soil of Jerusalem began asking my nation: why does its flag not fly over her’; ‘The Palestinians are lions in fighting the enemies.’”

A grade 6 study card, the report found, “utilizes militaristic, nationalistic and violent imagery to teach Arabic grammar principles which encourage jihad and martyrdom. Such examples include phrases like ‘We shall defend the motherland with blood’; ‘The Palestinian died as a martyr . . .  to defend his motherland’; ‘The resistance fighter attacked the Enemy’s position.’”

The IMPACT-se report mirrors the revelations of the toxicity of UNRWA teaching materials found in a 2020 study by Dr. Arnon Groiss of The Meir Amit Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center, “Israel, Jews and Peace in Palestinian Authority Schoolbooks and Teachers’ Guides,” which examined some 400 textbooks and more than 100 teachers’ guides published by the Palestinian Education Ministry from 2013 and 2020.

The report points to a three-prong process used to teach children about the perfidy of Israel, including a “Delegitimization of the State of Israel and the very presence of Jews in the Land of Israel, including the denial of the existence of Jewish holy places;” the “Demonization of Israel and the Jews;” and an “Encouragement of ‘violent struggle’ for the ‘liberation’ of the Land of Israel, with no mention of peace and coexistence.”

While the familiar narrative among diplomats and the public face of the Arab street has long voiced support for the notion of “two states, Israel and Palestine, living side by side in peace,” the reality is that maps in textbooks used by Arab children do not even show Israel; in other words, it does not exist as either a geographic or political entity. So, the idea that children or their parents have been raised to think that reconciliation is possible between both peoples is a fantasy, something that apologists for the Palestinians blindly, and regularly, ignore.

“In none of the P.A.’s schoolbooks has any call for the resolution of the conflict peacefully, or any mentioning of co-existence with Israel been found,” Groiss wrote. “The ‘Zionist enemy,’ according to the description appearing in the schoolbooks, is wholly evil and constitutes an existential threat to the Palestinians who are depicted as the ultimate victim, with no shared responsibility for the conflict.”

“Moreover,” the report noted, “Israel itself is taught to be completely illegal and illegitimate,” and “The name ‘Israel’ has been replaced most of the time by the epithet ‘the  Zionist occupation’ so that children are taught that “the struggle against the State of Israel has thus become a struggle against Zionism that is perceived as a mythical and a wholly evil entity, which  creates feelings of fear and hatred.”

When in 2007 then-Senator Hillary Clinton reviewed some of the teaching materials used in Palestinian schools, she saw their use as being tantamount to child abuse, observing that “Children were encouraged to see martyrdom and armed struggle and the murder of innocent people as ideals to strive for.”

And the Groiss report affirmed that assumption, suggesting that the lessons in the texts encourage and perpetuate both a justification for terror and the likelihood that it will continue to be used. “Reference to terror is more explicit in the newer schoolbooks,” the report noted. “Terrorist operations perpetrated throughout the years of conflict with Israel are presented [in words echoing the ghoulish sentiment of the NEA resolution] as heroic actions in the framework of the ‘revolution,’ ‘resistance’ and ‘self-sacrifice’” [emphasis added].

The report made it clear that unless incitement and the teaching of hate, both in classrooms and on the Arab street, are curbed, and educators make authentic attempts to improve the educational quality and the lives of Arab children — not just by denouncing the existence and behavior of Israel but through substantive, real change in what is taught and what the social, cultural, and moral messages are in that teaching — the Palestinian cause will be eternally hobbled by its own blind loathing of the Jewish state.

For Groiss, if teaching materials are not changed dramatically, children will continue to be marinated in hatred and no peace and Palestinian statehood will ever evolve. “The schoolbooks issued by the Palestinian Authority indicate, then, the essence of the narrative as far as the conflict with Israel is concerned,” the report noted. “It is learned from the PA schoolbooks and teachers’ guides that the education of the younger Palestinian generation prepares it consciously for a continuous and long-range confrontation against the State of Israel in order to achieve the final goal, which is the establishment of the State of Palestine that will stretch on the entire territory of the Land of Israel.”

As long as Palestinian children cling to that impossible fantasy, they have condemned themselves to further generations of disappointment, disillusionment, and a tragedy of their own making. And as long as UNRWA and the PA use its schools as incubators for hatred and indoctrination, Palestinian intransigence and hostility toward the Jewish state are bound to never disappear.

Biden’s Cybersecurity Chief Says National Security Apparatus Must Focus on ‘Dismantling Systemic Racism’

What could possibly go wrong?

Is there a single agency in Old Joe Biden’s catastrophic administration that hasn’t been completely corrupted and politicized? Apparently not. Recently, the White House announced that it appointed Camille Stewart Gloster to the post of Deputy National Cyber Director for Technology and Ecosystem Security; she will lead the Office of the National Cyber Director’s “ongoing efforts to strengthen the security and development of our Nation’s cyber ecosystem — across people, processes, and technology.” That’s great, but Camille Stewart Gloster herself has other priorities in mind: she has repeatedly claimed that the real national security we face is “systemic racism.”

On August 24, 2020, the Better Life Lab (“Elevating the Value of Care. Advancing Gender Equity. Reframing the Narrative of Work-Family Justice,” you get the idea) tweeted that Stewart Gloster, among others, would participate in a “discussion about systemic racism and the major threat it poses to U.S. national security.”

Stewart Gloster responded: I hope all of my #NatSec & #ForeignPolicy colleagues join us for this important discussion. On the heels of the horrific shooting of #JacobBlake, it is clear there is a lot of work to be done generally & our #NatSec apparatus must be a part of dismantling systemic racism.” She has also claimed that Biden’s administration, not having failed comprehensively enough for her taste, should make “pursuing anti-racist and anti-hate policy outcomes” a focus of its national security apparatus.

How Xi and Putin and the Ayatollah Khamenei must laugh at all this. It was just a few weeks ago that FBI Director Christopher Wray said that Iran had attempted to hack the computer system of Boston Children’s Hospital; according to Wray, this was “one of the most despicable cyberattacks I’ve ever seen.” He added: “We cannot let up on China or Iran or criminal syndicates while we’re focused on Russia.”

Maybe so, but Camille Stewart Gloster, whom Biden’s handlers hired away from Google (of course) and who previously worked in the Department of Homeland Security during the Obama administration, has an altogether different focus. In October 2020, she claimed that the “U.S. Economy Lost $16 Trillion b/c Of Racism against Black Americans in a range of areas, including in education & access to business loans By [sic] comparison, U.S. GDP totaled $19.5 tril last yr.”

On Nov. 7, 2020, she tweeted an apocalyptic all-caps rant: “I HOPE THIS REINFORCES YOU ALL DOING THE WORK TO ERADICATE HATE & BIOGTRY [sic]. SYSTEMIC RACISM WILL RUIN THIS DEMOCRACY. AMERICA, I HOPE YOU ARE READY!!” This alleged systemic racism, of course, didn’t end when Old Joe stumbled into the Oval Office. In April 2021, Stewart Gloster tweeted: “We need to root out systemic racism in every institution not just the criminal justice system.”

Every institution, including the one that is supposedly devoted to protecting American individuals and organizations from cyber attacks. Utterly enmeshed in her paranoid fantasies, in June 2020, Stewart Gloster wrote in a column for the Council on Foreign Relations that was actually entitled “Systemic Racism Is a National Security Threat.”

In it, she asserted that “technical and policy mitigations in cybersecurity need to account for the weaknesses of our society, systems, and institutions in their implementations. The places where democracy breaks down and the ugliness of our past sins are laid bare and unaddressed are where we are most vulnerable. Technical and policy mitigations to cybersecurity challenges will never reach their full potential until systemic racism is addressed and diverse voices are reflected among our ranks at all levels.” She added: “Cybersecurity professionals also need to understand how communities of color are disproportionately affected by cyberattacks that target critical infrastructure.”

Shortly after the 2020 election, Stewart Gloster wrote in The Hill: “One thing made painfully clear through the 2020 election cycle is that race is America’s Achilles heel. The weaponization of race undermines our democracy and causes far-reaching national security threats. Systemic racism also disenfranchises minority groups and is exacerbated by international and domestic policy decisions.”

Well, yeah. If anyone knows about the weaponization of race, it’s Camille Stewart Gloster. And she envisions a world in which it will be weaponized much more: she called for “empowering U.S. foreign policy leaders to talk about systemic racism in the U.S on a global stage and acknowledging the detrimental effects of racism at home and in U.S. foreign policy towards regions of the world.”

That’s right. While Putin moves into Ukraine and Xi eyes Taiwan, our cybersecurity czar wants American leaders to be rattling on about imaginary “systemic racism.” Yeah, that’ll restore our tarnished superpower status in a heartbeat.

‘Recession’ or Not, Our Economy Is Worse Than Many Countries

Joe Biden almost certainly saw this coming. The president spent the last week before the Bureau of Economic Analysis report, which showed another quarter of negative growth, prepping the nation for the bad news: We met the “technical” definition of a recession.

Biden basically said, “Definition? Schmefinition! I’ll make up my own. That’ll get those crazy right-wingers frothing at the mouth in no time.”

Related: Social Media Fact-Checkers Are Rejecting Criticism of Biden’s Recession Doublespeak

This, Biden proceeded to do with gleeful intent. The entire pundit class went to war over the arcane definition of an economic term. Meanwhile, the nation was distracted from the reality of what the 0.9% negative growth in the second quarter meant in comparison to other major economies.

Newsweek reports that the “United States saw worse economic growth than seven other major economies in the second quarter of 2022.” Only China with its COVID-19 lockdowns performed worse.

Even Mexico’s economy outperformed the U.S. economy.

Of the major countries which have released growth figures for the second quarter, encompassing April-June, Spain performed the best with an annualized growth rate of 1.1 percent.

It was followed by Italy and Mexico, both on 1.0 percent, then South Korea with 0.7 percent and France on 0.5 percent.

Germany and Singapore both recorded zero growth, although as their economies did not shrink this was still better than the U.S. figure.

“Coming off of last year’s historic economic growth, and regaining all the private sector jobs lost during the pandemic crisis, it’s no surprise that the economy is slowing down as the Federal Reserve acts to bring down inflation, the White House statement said.

“But even as we face historic global challenges, we are on the right path and we will come through this transition stronger and more secure.”

Brave words. But aren’t these the same bozos who were wrong about inflation?

Washington Post:

The Biden administration has spent a lot of energy trying to manage perceptions of the economy. Remember when inflation was going to be “temporary”? That experience should be instructive. Insisting that inflation was just a blip didn’t stop consumers from noticing that prices were rising. Nor did it protect Biden’s approval ratings, which dived even as the administration continued to insist that everything was fine.

Of course, inflation wasn’t the only reason for Biden’s unpopularity, which intensified right around the time that America was flooded with disastrous images from the Afghanistan withdrawal. But inflation was certainly a major contributor, and it is now probably the biggest factor in Biden’s catastrophically low ratings. There’s just not much that political messaging can do when consumers have to stare reality in the face every time they go to the grocery store.

Biden’s rhetorical distraction in trying to redefine bad economic news is an effort at altering perception. When it comes to the economy, perception can be a reality. If workers think that prices are going to rise, they will ask for a larger raise. If companies believe that, they will raise prices. This is what happened in the late 1970s — until Ronald Reagan and Paul Volker ruthlessly wrung inflation out of the economy by ignoring perception and inflicting pain.

Yet their economic confidence is low because real incomes are falling and interest rates have spiked, making it harder to buy a house or a car. You can’t message people out of thinking their economic circumstances have gotten worse — or out of worrying that this portends ill for the future.

So all the spin efforts are likely to come to naught. But contra angry conservatives, it’s probably harmless — except as it’s emblematic of a dangerous tendency on the left to believe they can control reality by controlling the words we use to describe it.

Biden’s attempt to spin his administration out of the coming disaster won’t work because the real-world economic conditions don’t match what’s coming out of his mouth. In the end, it doesn’t matter how you define “recession.” What matters is that average Americans are suffering.
