This may in part be a belated face-saving measure for the Obama administration wonks who allowed Gama’a al-Islamiyya member Hani Nour Eldin into the White House and State Department for “high-level meetings” in 2012. Remove Gama’a al-Islamiyya from the terror list, and the embarrassment goes away.

“The US set to remove 5 groups from foreign terrorism blacklist,” Associated Press, May 15, 2022

BERLIN (AP) — The United States is poised to remove five extremist groups, all believed to be defunct, from its list of foreign terrorist organizations, including several that once posed significant threats, killing hundreds if not thousands of people across Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

Although the groups are inactive, the decision is politically sensitive for the Biden administration and the countries in which the organizations operated, and could draw criticism from victims and their families still dealing with the losses of loved ones….

The U.S. State Department notified Congress on Friday of the moves, which come at the same time as an increasingly divisive but unrelated debate in Washington and elsewhere about whether Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard should or can be legally removed from the U.S. list as part of efforts to salvage the languishing Iran nuclear deal.

That designation, which was imposed by the Trump administration, was not mentioned in Friday’s notifications….

The groups to be removed are:

— Aum Shinrikyo (AUM), the Japanese “Supreme Truth” cult that carried out the deadly sarin gas attack on the Tokyo subway in 1995 that killed 13 people and sickened hundreds more. The group has been considered largely defunct since the executions of its top echelons, including leader Shoko Asahara, in 2018. It was designated a foreign terrorist organization in 1997.

— Basque Fatherland and Liberty, or ETA, which ran a separatist campaign of bombings and assassinations in northern Spain and elsewhere for decades that killed more than 800 people and wounded thousands more, until declaring a cease-fire in 2010 and disbanding after the arrests and trials of its last leaders in 2018. It was designated a foreign terrorist organization in 1997.

— Kahane Chai, or Kach. The radical Orthodox Jewish group was founded by ultranationalist Israeli Rabbi Meir Kahane in 1971. He led the group until his assassination in 1990. Members of the group have killed, attacked or otherwise threatened or harassed Arabs, Palestinians and Israeli government officials, but the organization has been dormant since 2005. The group was first designated in 1997.

— The Mujahidin Shura Council in the Environs of Jerusalem, an umbrella group of several jihadist organizations based in Gaza that has claimed responsibility for numerous rocket and other attacks on Israel since its founding in 2012. The council was first designated in 2014.

— Gama’a al-Islamiyya, or Islamic Group–IG, an Egyptian Sunni Islamist movement that fought to topple Egypt’s government during the 1990s. It conducted hundreds of deadly attacks against the police and security forces as well as tourists. The group was first designated in 1997.

The State Department said on Sunday that Blinken was required by law to revoke the designations if the groups no longer met the legal criteria.

Speaking of the Kahane Chai group, the department said it had not been linked to a terrorist attack since 2005. It also said the Mujahidin Shura Council has not claimed an attack since 2013….

Parents SUE over their children being abducted by CPS due to investigator’s “hurt feelings”

(Natural News) An Illinois family is suing the state after a child welfare investigator vindictively abducted three of their children for over a year due to “hurt feelings.”

Jacob and Patricia Krueger’s three children were taken into custody by the Department of Children and Family Services (DFCS) in 2019 after one of the children was supposed to have been discharged from the hospital for a complex medical issue.

Aaron Rapier, the attorney representing the Kruegers, explained that Dr. Channing Petrak, the DCFS contractor in question, was at the hospital when the child was set to be discharged after a year-and-a-half-long investigation but reneged after feeling slighted by something that Jacob Krueger said.

In a reactionary emotional response to feeling “embarrassed,” Petrak decided to hurt the Kruegers. Instead of relying on the facts of the case to make a decision, Petrak instead went with her emotions and feelings, which greatly harmed the family. (Related: Child Protective Services (CPS) is also now using artificial intelligence to decide which children to abduct.)

“While [Petrak] went into the meeting intending to discharge this child home to the family, which means of course that she didn’t suspect any abuse or neglect at that time, she did a complete 180 after she was embarrassed in front of a colleague,” Rapier told Center Square.

CPS is a kidnapping front pretending to advocate for children’s welfare

The lawsuit further explains that Petrak was not the doctor of the child in question. She simply inserted herself into the situation as a dictator, wielding her perceived power in a weaponized way to cause harm because of her personal feelings.

“Jacob told Defendant / Petrak he did not want her involved in [the child’s] care, treatment, or discharge planning,” Rapier says.

“Defendant / Petrak was offended and embarrassed by Jacob’s statements. She left the room, as requested, but Defendant / Petrak was not done with the Krueger family.”

Petrak apparently responded to having her feelings hurt by falsely claiming that the child in question was being “medically abused,” even though this was an absolute lie.

The Krueger family had already endured a painful 17 months of investigation by the DFCS, which found that there was no medical neglect taking place. But Petrak lied and claimed otherwise at the last minute, resulting in all three of the Krueger children being abducted from their family by the state for 467 days.

“[The child with the complex medical problem’s sibling] was illegally seized and unlawfully detained by Defendants for no reason other than that he is [her] brother and the adult Plaintiff’s son,” the lawsuit explains.

Likewise, the third child “was illegally seized and unlawfully detained for no reason other than his relation to the other Plaintiffs. Defendants did not have a court order, consent, or the exigent circumstances necessary to seize him.”

“It’s just too scary that someone has that much power and can act so arbitrarily,” Rapier added about Petrak’s abuse of power and authority.

Michelle Weidner, executive director of the Family Justice Resource Center, also told Center Square that “a wrongful allegation can happen to anyone.”

“For children under about the age of three, any birth injury, medical condition, or accidental injury can launch an investigation,” she added in a statement.

“When children have complicated medical situations, the parents need to be able to trust the hospitals and providers to make their child better. All too often though, when a child has an unexplained medical finding the hospital calls in a child abuse pediatrician who DCFS relies upon to find abuse and write medical opinions in anticipation of litigation.”

DHS Memo: Biden Admin Aware Its Policies Facilitate Border Crisis, Cartel Activity

BY VERONIKA KYRYLENKO

SEE: https://thenewamerican.com/dhs-memo-biden-admin-aware-its-policies-facilitate-border-crisis-cartel-activity/;

republished below in full unedited for informational, educational & research purposes:

An internal DHS memorandum indicates that the Biden administration is deliberately promoting immigration policies that profit transnational cartels and endanger the United States.

On Friday, Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody announced that her office had obtained documents revealing Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas withheld the truth when he testified to the U.S. Congress in April that DHS was effectively managing the influx of illegal immigrants at the southern border. Back then, Mayorkas boasted that his department had put in place a “comprehensive plan” that prepares for and manages the current and anticipated increase in illegals pouring into the country. Mayorkas noted, among other things, that the DHS had “intensified efforts” to target and disrupt the activity of smuggling cartels and transnational criminal organizations “at the historic level.”

According to the official DHS memo released before the Mayorkas testimony, the fight against the cartels and international criminals was named one of the “pillars” of the “border security” policy. It reads,

In April 2022, DHS and other federal agencies intensified our disruption efforts, marshalling the largest surge of resources and disruptive activities against human smuggling networks in recent memory. The immediate result has been over 2,500 arrests, investigations, and disruptions of smuggling infrastructure, such as buses and safe houses.

Why does the country need to marshal the “largest surge of resources and disruptive activities?” Apparently, the DHS is fully aware that the policies put in place by President Biden are encouraging mass migration and the criminal activity related to it.

An eight-page redacted document entitled “U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Overview of the Southwest Border” describes the factors that influence the “irregular migration flow in the United States” and the role of the cartels and criminal groups that take advantage of it, and provides an assessment of current immigration protocols.

DHS acknowledges that “perceptions of favorable U.S. immigration policies,” along with economic and educational opportunities, are one of the major drivers of migration cited by illegals who come to the country.

The document shows that the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and DHS officials know that the cartels are creating and exploiting the flow of migrants to bolster their profits:

We assess that smuggling networks are very active in promoting the flow of migrants through Mexico as drug trafficking organizations maintain control of the primary trafficking corridors into the United States. The drug trafficking organizations’ control of these corridors allows them to regulate the flow of migrants as well as charge migrants a ‘tax’ … for the right to pass through the corridors.

The document suggests that the lifting of the pandemic-related expulsion policy, formally known as Section 262 of U.S. Code Title 42, announced by the CDC on April 1 will lead to the “worst-case scenarios.”

According to DHS estimates, as many as 18,000 illegal immigrants will be coming to America’s southern border every day as a result of the Title 42 reversal. That’s more than double the number of people the border agents are handling now. That would be 100,000 people per week, or half a million people potentially crossing each month.

While the immigration agencies “initiated contingency planning in anticipation of a potential surge of illegal migration,” the implementation of several recent Biden administration policies, namely “the pause in the use of removal pathways such as the Migrant Protection Protocols, Asylum Cooperation Agreements, and Prompt Asylum Claim Review,” along with rescinded Title 42, will obstruct CBP’s ability to expeditiously process and remove the illegals.

In addition to that, the CBP overview predicts that the policies will facilitate the activity of the cartels even more:

Transnational criminal organizations will exploit migration flows and entrench themselves in the smuggling cycle. TCOs endanger vulnerable individuals, amass illicit profits that feed cartel violence in Mexico and along the border, and create a volatile border environment.

The flow of illegal aliens into the country became increasingly diverse in 2020, notes the document. While 88 percent of all illegals encountered that year were from Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador, and Nicaragua, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection “has also seen an increase of migrants from other Latin American countries and the Caribbean, as well as Eastern Hemisphere countries such as Bangladesh, Cameroon, China, Eritrea, and India.”

And, in the following year, the number of total encounters increased by 113 percent, according to the CBP.

“CBP encounters with illegal migrants at the U.S. southwest border totaled nearly 2.5 million since February 2021, with deportations down 70% last year,” recalled Moody.

“This is a shocking discovery. It contradicts what the Biden administration has been telling the American people and shows that the Mexican drug cartels are profiting off the mass migration of unvetted immigrants to fund an increase in violence at the border,” said the attorney general in the statement.

She added,

We are in the midst of a national opioid crisis and the deadliest drugs are being smuggled into our country from Mexico. President Biden knows this, yet he continues to double down on his terrible immigration policies knowing full well these policies are emboldening and enriching the very drug cartels who are profiting off the deaths of thousands of Americans.

On May 11, the CDC published data showing that drug overdoses in 2021 reached 107,622 cases, which is the highest number on record. Fentanyl and its components are produced in China, sold to the Mexican cartels, and then shuttled across the United States-Mexico border and into American communities. Reportedly, the amount of this deadly drug flowing across the southern border has quadrupled under President Joe Biden compared to two years prior, when former President Trump was in office.

Here it comes: All signs point to Housing Bubble 2.0 amid widening price, income gap

(Natural News) When the U.S. housing market collapsed in 2007, causing a similar near-collapse of the U.S. financial system — which in turn led to a massive global “Great Recession” — our leaders pledged to never allow such market conditions to repeat themselves.

And yet here we are, less than 15 years later, and market conditions are lining up once again for another massive housing market collapse.

Call it the “Housing Bubble 2.0.”

The Epoch Times reports that, according to the latest data, there is a widening gap between the average prices for homes and median income, a phenomenon that led, in large part, to the first collapse:

The U.S. economy is currently experiencing the hottest real estate market on record, the latest Realtor.com housing data show.

According to the April report from Realtor.com, the median listing price advanced 14.2 percent year-over-year to $425,000. Housing experts suggest that the typically busy spring buying season will be notably competitive.

“Despite moderating demand, the U.S. median home price hit yet another all-time high and accelerated over the March annual growth pace in April,” the real estate listings website said in a statement.

Also, the most recent S&P/Case-Shiller U.S. National Home Price Index data show a sizzling hot real estate market. In February, for instance, home prices around the country shot up almost 20 percent year-over-year, with cities in the Sun Belt gaining the most. “The last time the U.S. real estate market recorded such exceptional growth was during the 2008 housing crisis,” noted The Epoch Times.

However, another trend that is catching the eye of economists is the home-price-to-median-household-income ratio, a figure that skyrocketed to an all-time high of 7.72

in January. The previous record came just a few short years before the last housing collapse: 7.03 in November 2005.

Over the past decade, median household income rose around 11 percent while median home prices soared by 30 percent, CNBC has reported. Since the mid-1960s, average values of homes have shot skyward 118 percent, while median household income has only risen by 15 percent.

“A household earning $75,000 to $100,000 can currently afford to buy 51% of the active housing inventory,” according to a joint report by the National Associations of Realtors and Realtor.com. “Nevertheless, that same household could afford to buy 58% of the homes for sale in 2019. Thus, during the pandemic, affordability for households in the income bracket $75,000-$100,000 dropped by 7 percentage points.”

There is also the matter of now-steadily rising mortgage rates which will also play a significant role in the housing market.

Today, an average 30-year mortgage rate is more than 5 percent, according to data from the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), which is an increase of about 3 percent from this time last year. Also, it is estimated that the average U.S. household would need to spend about one-third of monthly income in order to make the house payment.

Nik Shah, the CEO of Home LLC, a down payment assistance provider for homebuyers, said that the rise in mortgage rates is already pricing a sizeable portion of Americans out of the housing market altogether.

“In late 2020, the typical U.S. resident could afford to buy a home worth 48 percent more than the median-priced home in the country,” Shah told The Epoch Times. “In 2022, thanks to rising mortgage rates and home prices, that’s reduced to only 5 percent.”

In spite of concerns about higher mortgage rates having a detrimental impact on the housing boom during the pandemic, elevated rates will only affect those currently attempting to enter the real estate market, Morgan Stanley notes.

“The mortgage market is mostly fixed-rate, so raising rates won’t raise the monthly payment on current owners, but instead will disproportionately impact first-time homebuyers,” bank researchers said in a recent research note. “Robust mortgage underwriting should keep foreclosures limited, preventing the forced selling that would weigh on home prices.”

Taken together, however, the conditions for Housing Bubble 2.0 are certainly present.

Biden’s new “disinformation” czar has a history of perpetuating left-wing propaganda in U.S., Europe

Government Control of Information

(Natural News) The career government bureaucrat the Biden regime has selected to become its first ‘minister of truth’ is nothing short of a left-wing propagandist and hack who actually specializes in spreading misinformation, according to a deep dive into her background by Natural News.

Earlier this month, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas announced the formation of a new “Disinformation Governance Board” which he said was set up to provide ‘best practices’ regarding how to handle alleged misinformation being spread online by allegedly malign actors. Nina Jankowicz, a former adviser to the corrupt government of Ukraine, where the Biden family has a history of shady business dealings, has been chosen to become the board’s director.

She has been a global fellow at the left-leaning Wilson Center and an author whose research has supposedly focused on disinformation as well as Russia and the treatment of women online. According to the Wilson Center, she studies “the intersection of democracy and technology in Central and eastern Europe” and she was an adviser on strategic communications to the government of Ukraine — a fancy title for ‘propagandist’ —  during her time as a Fulbright-Clinton Public Policy Fellowship.

Jankowicz also wrote the book, “How To Lose the Information War: Russia, Fake News, and the Future of Conflict,” and most recently, “How to Be a Woman Online: Surviving Abuse and Harassment, and How to Fight Back,” the latter of which was published earlier this year.

She has made frequent contributions to the media, publishing articles in leftist rags like The New York Times, TheWashington Post, The Atlantic, and others. In addition, she has appeared on TV and radio to discuss disinformation as well as Russian and Eastern European issues.

Before she became an ‘adviser’ to the Ukrainian government, Jankowicz managed democracy assistance programs for Russia and Belarus at the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs. She holds an MA in Russian, Eurasian, and East

European Studies from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service.

As an aside, Russia, of course, has invaded Ukraine, and Belarus, a Russian ally, appears to be spinning up its forces, perhaps in preparation for sending them into Ukraine in support of Moscow’s flagging progress, according to an intelligence report seen by Natural News.

According to Breitbart News:

Long before Nina Jankowicz was tapped by Joe Biden to head the Disinformation Governance Board in the Department of Homeland Security, she offered advice to the new president and claimed disinformation is “an American pathology” that has to be cured.

In her piece “How to Defeat Disinformation: An Agenda for the Biden Administration” in Foreign Affairs magazine in November of 2020, Jankowicz spelled out what she believed should be done at the White House, including creating her job to quash conspiracy theories about the outcome of the election.

It seems appropriate at this point to note that “misinformation” and “disinformation” as they apply in these instances are both very subjective; that is, they can mean anything that Jankowicz and the Biden regime say they mean. Factual information about the harm COVID-19 vaccines were doing to millions of people has been censored and those who post such information banned from platforms because that info was determined to be ‘fake’ by the government arbiters of ‘truth.’ Ditto for detailed reports revealing the Biden crime family, via Hunter Biden’s laptop, ahead of the 2020 election.

At the same time, BS stories about President Donald Trump that were planted by the deep state intelligence apparatus were treated as gospel and absolutely true, even though they were demonstrably false (like the “Trump-Russia collusion” hoax).

For her part, Jankowicz literally blamed Trump for the deep state-perpetuated fake news and false stories.

She wrote in her Foreign Affairs piece:

Homegrown disinformation proliferated in this election year, including claims that so-called Antifa militants started wildfires in the Pacific Northwest and assertions—fed by the mushrooming QAnon conspiracy—that Trump is saving the country from a powerful cabal of pedophiles. Such false and wild notions have blossomed in the societal fissures that have widened under Trump—between those who live in rural areas and those who live in cities, for instance, and those who see systemic racism as a major problem and those who don’t. These divisions have been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, four years of Trump’s populist rhetoric, and a social media environment that encourages outrage and extremism.

A left-wing Antifa militant did start a fire in the Pacific Northwest. The QAnon conspiracy was literally started by the deep state, not Trump. Systemic racism is not a real thing and has been completely fabricated by the Democrat left to perpetuate their power and give them a platform by which to persecute conservative whites. And so on.

So understand, this woman isn’t a “disinformation expert” in the sense of the term; she is an expert at spreading disinformation for the purposes of providing the Biden regime more power and authority to determine what Americans can and cannot say — despite the fact that we supposedly have an inviolate guaranteed right to freedom of speech and expression.

She is also an expert propagandist. In a recent Twitter post, she literally said “there are many non-binary people who give birth,” when in fact, biological men cannot get pregnant and therefore cannot give birth. They simply don’t have the ‘plumbing’ or ‘internal equipment’ for that.

Guess How Many Graduation Speakers at Top Colleges Are Conservative?

BY CHRIS QUEEN

republished below in full unedited for informational, educational & research purposes:

It’s graduation season, which means that parents across the nation are gearing up for graduation ceremonies. Of course, one of the traditions as old as graduation itself is the guest speaker who delivers a stirring and inspiring address to the graduates and their family and friends in attendance.

Every year, celebrities, politicians, and CEOs speak at college graduations. It shouldn’t be much of a surprise that left-leaning speakers are prominent at college commencement ceremonies, but what’s astonishing is that, in 2022, only three of the top 100 colleges and universities are featuring conservative speakers.

Young America’s Foundation has kept tabs on the political leanings of commencement speakers for the past 30 years, and their findings have shown that “a disproportionate number of speakers at our nation’s top colleges and universities have been liberal ideologues, big donors to liberal causes, and members of the woke media.”

This year, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin will speak at Virginia Tech, Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow will speak at the University of Florida, and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will speak at Boston College. And that’s it for openly conservative speakers.

On the other side of the political aisle, attendees of commencement ceremonies at 53 colleges and universities will hear known liberals. Entertainment figures like Tyler Perry, Taylor Swift, Kal Penn, and Ken Jeong will grace the podium at graduations, as will athletes like Emmanuel Acho, Dwyane Wade, and Abby Wambach.

Even more thrilling are the left-wing politicians like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), Samantha Power, and Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens who will serve as commencement speakers. Other liberal speakers include journalist Bob Woodward and documentarian Ken Burns.

YAF noted that “10 speakers had unclear ideological affiliations and 36 schools had various speakers, no primary speaker(s), a university administrator as speaker, or no speakers announced yet.”

Recommended: Elected Official in College Town Slanders College Athletes
“Even as Americans are beginning to wake up and wholly reject the Left’s disastrous economic policies and culture wars, America’s universities are working overtime to rehab the Left’s failing image,” the report reads. “It’s truly sad that up until their very last day of school, students are being indoctrinated by speakers with a clear ideological agenda—people who have no intent on giving an actual inspiring, powerful sendoff to our future leaders.”

In recent years, speakers from both sides of the political aisle have faced protests and walkouts. In 2017 at Notre Dame and in 2019 at Taylor University, students walked out on a commencement speech by then-Vice President Mike Pence. Earlier this year, Vassar College students complained when the school chose Obama’s Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson to speak at graduation; Johnson later withdrew after the backlash. So it’s easy to see why some potential speakers might be skittish about being part of a commencement ceremony.

But in an era when the left dominates both academia and culture and politicizes everything, maybe it shouldn’t surprise us that the majority of graduation speakers are from that side of the aisle. Then again, if college administrators wouldn’t cave to the squeaky-wheel wokes, maybe we’d see more diversity among commencement speakers.

Who knows? Maybe a fearless approach is worth a try.

Wait, What? HALF of Infants in the U.S. Are on WIC?!

BY ATHENA THORNE

SEE: https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/athena-thorne/2022/05/16/wait-what-half-of-infants-in-the-u-s-are-on-wic-n1598234;

republished below in full unedited for informational, educational & research purposes:

One shocking fact that has come to light as the nation wrestles with a baby formula shortage is that half of U.S. infants receive WIC (federal food assistance).

According to the USDA website, “The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) provides federal grants to states for supplemental foods, health care referrals, and nutrition education for low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, and non-breastfeeding postpartum women, and to infants and children up to age 5 who are found to be at nutritional risk.”

“WIC serves 53 percent of all infants born in the United States,” the USDA proudly tells us.

That one in two American babies is deemed eligible for public assistance is an incredibly distressing third-world level of economic failure. What in the world is going on?

Related: The Baby Formula Shortage Could Have an Effect on the Midterms

For starters, a disastrous 40% of babies in the United States are now born out of wedlock. In addition, around 39% of marriages will end up in divorce. This makes for a lot of single-parent households — one of the strongest predictors there is for financial struggles.

We all celebrate the courage of the ever-more moms who choose life for their unplanned children. Maybe we can also do more to celebrate the traditional virtues, such as encouraging young people to have greater self-respect and restraint. There is already plenty of material on PJ Media about the urgent fight against the sexualization of children, so I won’t belabor the point here.

But hold onto your blood pressure meds — there’s more!

“The WIC program aims to safeguard the health of low-income women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are at nutrition risk,” the USDA explains, “by providing nutritious foods to supplement diets, information on healthy eating, and referrals to health care.”

The site provides a bulleted list of locations where needy parents can latch onto the public assistance program, such as hospitals, county health departments, community centers, and — I kid you not — “Migrant health centers and camps.” So amid the shortage, not only is a sizable chunk of baby formula shipped to the border for newly arriving “asylum seekers,” but once the Biden Collective distributes the migrants around the country, they compete with Americans for short supplies of baby formula — which the foreign nationals receive free of charge on the taxpayers’ dime.

Currently, women and children whose household income is up to 185% of the federal poverty guideline are eligible for WIC assistance. It is admirable and wise to make sure mothers and babies receive adequate nutrition when they are in financial need. It would also be admirable and wise to look at ways to prevent that situation from happening quite so often.

“Sustainability” is a great buzzword these days — millions of earnest young men and women (especially women) are getting degrees in it — but they only focus on environmental sustainability. Financial and societal sustainability is probably a far more urgent issue right now. When too many people are riding in the cart, not enough will be left to pull it. But then again, if your only concern is about sustaining the environment, then societal collapse is probably a good thing.
