Sound Bites From a Failed State of the Union Address
Smoke and mirrors - and nonexistent solutions.

President Joe Biden delivered his first State of the Union address on March 1st. The president’s speech was filled with sound bites that could have been taken from focus groups and polls. Biden squandered a primetime opportunity to level with the American people about the abysmal state of the union that his progressive policies have brought about. He could have presented pragmatic proposals to turn things around. Instead, aside from sound bites presumably intended for the ears of Independents and Republicans, Biden praised his failed policies and offered a repackaging of more of the same.
For example, President Biden said that “we need to secure the border and fix the immigration system.” Even Texas’s Republican Senator Ted Cruz, who was seen nodding off from boredom during the speech, stood up for that line. But Biden failed to acknowledge how his open border policies have blown a huge hole in border security. The president offered no real fixes that would reverse the record flood of illegal immigrants into the United States on his watch.
President Biden tried rhetorically to distance himself from his radical base’s defund the police movement. “The answer is not to defund the police," he said. "The answer is to fund the police with the resources and training they need to protect our communities.”
This was a nice applause line except that the president did not dial back on his administration’s hostility to law enforcement. In fact, Biden’s Justice Department is hamstringing effective law enforcement with renewed investigations into a number of police agencies. It is seeking to force police departments to adopt self-defeating restrictions on how the police can keep people safe. Biden boasted about his Justice Department’s efforts to “hold law enforcement accountable.”
Biden also had a chance to repudiate the Left’s no cash bail policies in Democrat-run cities across the country that have let loose violent criminals to terrorize innocent people on the streets. But he failed to do so.
The president seemed to channel former President Donald Trump’s America First policies when he promoted “Made In America” products. Yet he failed to reverse his Green New Deal agenda that has returned America to energy dependence on oil imports from other countries, including Russia.
Every single day that Biden has refused to cut off U.S. imports of oil from Russia has been another day in which Biden has helped to fund Vladimir Putin’s brutal invasion of Ukraine and his slaughter of Ukrainian civilians.
Canada has announced an end to its imports of Russian oil. But not Biden.
The president could have ordered the immediate permitting of leases to drill for oil and gas on federal lands with a stroke of the pen. This would unleash American energy reserves. But Biden hasn’t done so.
The only measure that Biden announced during his State of the Union address to increase the U.S. oil supply is the release of 30 million barrels from America’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve. This is in addition to another 30 million barrels of oil being released from other countries’ oil reserves. Oil prices rose further after Biden’s announcement.
The release of more oil from America’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve could take at least 13 days to accomplish following a presidential order. Once this oil is released, it is estimated that it will meet Americans’ oil demands for just two or three days. Biden could have at least announced a federal gasoline tax holiday. But he did not.
The president also could have ordered his Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to immediately cancel its recent climate change regulation. This regulation crimps the ability to build new American energy infrastructure facilities such as more ports for the export of liquefied natural gas to European countries that are still dependent on Russian natural gas. Biden didn’t do so.
The president told the American people during his State of the Union address that “[I]nflation is robbing them of the gains they might otherwise feel.” But Biden's answer in his speech was to propose more wasteful government spending on top of the spend-and-borrow “American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.”
Biden is still pushing many elements of his stalled Build Back Better legislation without using the “Build Back Better” title. “I call it building a better America,” the president declared. More old wine in new bottles.
Biden’s continuing war on fossil fuel has been a major contributor to the runaway inflation plaguing Americans today. He refuses to reverse course except to release enough barrels of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to satisfy just a few days of Americans’ demands for oil. Last November, after Biden released 50 million barrels of oil from the strategic reserve, the price of gasoline at the pump declined for just a short time before climbing again to its highest level in more than seven years in early February 2022. That was three weeks before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Biden spent the first portion of his State of the Union address discussing the Russian invasion of Ukraine. “Six days ago, Russia’s Vladimir Putin sought to shake the foundations of the free world thinking he could make it bend to his menacing ways,” the president said. “But he badly miscalculated. He thought he could roll into Ukraine and the world would roll over. Instead, he met a wall of strength he never imagined. He met the Ukrainian people.”
Biden praised Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky and every Ukrainian for inspiring the world with “their fearlessness, their courage, their determination.”
True enough. President Zelensky has demonstrated courageous leadership to the entire free world. But the man who is supposed to be the leader of the free world, the president of the United States, has failed to lead or to inspire with bold actions.
The president has followed Europe’s leadership in sanctioning Putin and his family directly. He hesitated for too long to impose stringent sanctions on Russia’s banking system and to cut Russia’s financial institutions from the global SWIFT messaging system, which is still not a complete cut-off. The Biden administration has not yet imposed sanctions directly on Russia’s energy industry, which would choke off the Russian war machine’s main source of funding.
Moreover, the Biden administration is reportedly not sharing real-time battlefield intelligence and targeting information that the Ukrainian military could use to strike Russian forces in the air and on the ground in time to stop Russian offensive operations.
On Wednesday, Biden told reporters that it was still too early to conclude that Putin’s regime has committed war crimes. Where has Biden been for the last 48 hours as Putin’s military dropped cluster bombs and fired rockets indiscriminately at civilian populations and infrastructure? Scores of Ukrainian civilians have been reportedly killed so far.
The president concluded his State of the Union address with the standard invocation: “May God protect our troops.” But Biden tellingly omitted any salute to the 13 service members killed during his disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, when he left behind American civilians, Afghan allies, and billions of dollars worth of sophisticated military equipment.
There is a compelling explanation for this glaring omission. The Biden administration might have feared that any mention of Afghanistan in President Biden’s State of the Union address would remind Americans of how his administration’s reckless handling of the pullout from Afghanistan signaled weakness to America’s adversaries. In all likelihood, this helped to set the stage for Putin’s decision to launch his invasion of Ukraine.
The state of the union and the state of the world have gotten much worse since President Biden took office.
‘Afghan Adjustment Act’ Would Legalize 36,000 Unvetted Afghans
Don’t ask questions, just give them their citizenship

Biden’s evacuation brought tens of thousands of Afghans to America.
The majority of them were not interpreters, had no visas, and had no basis for entering the country. Despite that, they were rapidly brought here with virtually no vetting, dropped off at military bases, and then put through the resettlement process across the United States.
There’s no one problem.
At last count around 36,000 Afghans or 40% of the “refugees” had no legal basis for being evacuated even after the Biden administration and its congressional allies, both Democrat and Republican, watered-down standards for applying for SIV visas so much so that virtually any Afghan employed in any capacity by any contractors, charities, or even the media qualified.
The vast majority of Afghans in the evacuation were not visa recipients, but the evacuees got past Taliban checkpoints even while Americans and visa holders were being turned back.
Many of them have no paperwork and no legitimate basis for even claiming political asylum.
The same coalition of administration officials, congressional staffers, and refugee resettlement profiteers who perpetrated this mess have a shortcut in mind for legalizing all of them anyway.
A proposed Afghan Adjustment Act would grant the Afghan migrants, at least 36,000 of them, permanent legal residency and put them on a pathway to demanding citizenship.
Tens of thousands of Afghans have been turned loose on “humanitarian parole” for two years, which gives the refugee resettlement organizations handling their cases plenty of time to figure out some basis for applying for a more permanent asylum, but they don’t want to follow the law.
Why not?
Despite the virtual lack of vetting, hundreds of Afghan migrants are being flagged as security risks. 50 believed to be security risks were already released in this country and the majority of them are in the wind. Four have already been involved in sexual assault cases. Considering how much the Afghans have misbehaved in so little time, the refugee resettlement contractors are understandably worried that much more damaging information will come out after two years.
The new rush to lobby for an Afghan Adjustment Act, still in draft form, exploits the outrage and sentiment over the botched Afghanistan evacuation to rapidly legalize all of the Afghans here.
We were rushed into this disaster and we’re still being rushed into more disastrous decisions.
Biden told us that we had to urgently evacuate Afghanistan, but he was the one who chose to turn over Kabul to the Taliban and to create the conditions that allowed the terrorists to quickly seize the country. Once the Afghans were evacuated, there should have been plenty of time to hold them at overseas bases in Qatar and elsewhere, then thoroughly screen and vet them.
Instead, the Biden administration pushed to cut refugee resettlement and vetting times from years to days. What exactly was the rush to evacuate the Afghans, not from Kabul, but from Qatar? Now, with two years to go, there’s a new rush to give the Afghans instant legal status.
What’s the rush? They’re no longer fleeing the Taliban. They’re safely in America. What’s the excuse for not properly screening and vetting them through the normal asylum process?
Bringing tens of thousands of Afghans to America and rapidly resettling them, even though they had no long-term legal status, was meant to make the invasion irreversible. Now that the Afghans are scattered from Omaha to Philly to the Bay Area, the odds of deporting them after two years are slim, but the Afghan Adjustment Act would lock in their status, and make it very difficult to deport them even if they turn out to be terrorists, rapists, and other kinds of criminals.
It also speeds up the process of demographic change by which they will import family members, and alleged family members, to this country in order to transform cities, states, and the nation.
The House version of the Afghan Adjustment Act is being drafted by Rep. Earl Blumenauer, one of the most notorious shills for Islamists, and the Democrats are trying to enlist Republicans into foolishly backing the rushed effort to rapidly legalize a population of unvetted Afghan migrants.
Refugee resettlers like the Church World Service and HIAS, as well as umbrella groups like the Refugee Council, which also includes Islamic Relief USA, Amnesty International, the Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service, OXFAM, and other players in the same racket, are pressuring Congress to legalize all the Afghans now while asking questions later. Or never.
And the first question is who are the Afghan migrants and why can’t we wait to find that out?
The pressure campaign around the Afghan Adjustment Act is aimed at protecting Afghan migrants from having to apply for asylum. The advocates for instant legalization claim that the backlog of asylum requests is too long, but that’s the doing of their own organizations which have done everything possible to Cloward-Piven the refugee system by pushing open borders.
If the refugee asylum process were reserved for people fleeing political and religious persecution, as they should be, instead of Latin Americans fleeing high crime rates, we wouldn’t be overwhelmed with a massive backlog of frivolous asylum requests by illegal border invaders.
And two years is plenty of time in which to process the current requests if that were the issue.
Instead, the refugee resettlement lobby wants a free pass for 36,000 Afghans. And it wants to rush Americans into once again going along without asking any of the important questions..
Americans have been lied to about the Afghan evacuation at every turn. Politicians, the media, and the resettlers kept telling us that they were providing visas to interpreters. But the vast majority of Afghans need their own interpreters and most of them never worked with the military.
If they had, they would qualify for SIV visas.
40% of the Afghans, those tens of thousands, not only didn’t work for our military but never worked with any American organization in any capacity or they would qualify for a visa.
After lying to us about saving “interpreters”, and lying about the Afghans being carefully “vetted”, they’re trying to pull off the biggest scam yet by retroactively legalizing their illegal evacuation under the umbrella of an Afghan Adjustment Act which will shut down any further scrutiny.
Why don’t they want the Afghans to apply for asylum? The answer is painfully obvious. Just as it was obvious why they dismantled the visa standards for Afghans every single step of the way.
The Biden administration never vetted the tens of thousands of Afghans it imported into America. It and its refugee resettlement allies want to make sure that they never are.
Discovering the real truth about the Afghanistan withdrawal will require close scrutiny of what happened in the White House, in the Pentagon, and in the State Department. The tens of thousands of Afghans who got on the planes, when Americans and visa holders could not, the Taliban checkpoints, and the suicide bombing at the airport are all part of a larger puzzle.
The Afghan Adjustment Act isn’t a humanitarian gesture to persecuted people: it’s a cover-up.
Woke and Stupid: As Russia Invades Ukraine, U.S. Army Gives Mandatory Training on Gender Identity

We can only hope that the madness in Ukraine doesn’t escalate to the extent that the U.S. military ends up getting involved. It’s clear that Gen. Mark Milley and the rest of the brass have learned absolutely no lessons from Afghanistan and are determined to repeat the same mistakes that led up to the catastrophically mishandled withdrawal from Kabul. If the Army were called upon to move into Ukraine, which would be an indication that the situation there had gotten wildly out of control, it isn’t at all clear that today’s woke force would pose a significant threat even to the manifestly weak and sluggish Russian forces. An American army presence in Ukraine would likely herald World War III, and we hope it won’t come to that, but if it does, look out.
These are the priorities of Milley’s thoroughly modern military: early in February, Army officers were forced to sit through an official and mandatory presentation entitled “Policy on the Military Service of Transgender Persons and Persons with Gender Dysphoria.” According to the Washington Free Beacon, the presentation gives “training on gender pronouns and coaching officers on when to offer soldiers gender transition surgery.”
While Vladimir Putin’s army was preparing to invade Ukraine, officers of the U.S. Army were learning that they have to refer to some men as “she” and “her” if they want to keep their jobs and be attentive for moments when it might be appropriate to offer Private Jack a chance to become Private Jill (no doubt soon to be Seargent First Class Jill, for being such a useful soldier of the zeitgeist).
According to an Army spokesman, this woke presentation was “mandatory training,” and was “used to train Army personnel on the recent changes to the DoD and Army transgender service policy.” The Free Beacon reports, “all Army personnel, from soldiers to commanders and supervisors, are required to participate in the training by Sept. 30, 2022, according to the spokesman.”
All this is part of “a larger push by the Biden administration to make the military more welcoming to transgender people.” The presentation states, “The Army allows transgender soldiers to serve openly. An otherwise qualified soldier shall not be involuntarily separated, discharged, or denied reenlistment or continuation of service on the basis of gender identity.”

In a sane society, a man who thinks he is a woman or a woman who thinks she is a man would be recognized as suffering from a severe psychological disorder, such that he or she would not be seen as “otherwise qualified.” But the military’s presentation offers the hypothetical scenario of a “soldier who was assigned male at birth” but “says he identifies as a female” and “lives as a female in his off-duty hours.” This language reveals how this entire business is a fantasy from start to finish: human beings are not “assigned” a gender at birth as if the baby is neuter until a doctor or parent decides it will be a boy or a girl. The baby is a boy or a girl; all the doctor and the parents do is notice which one.
The presentation directs that if a male soldier believes he is female but “is not requesting to be treated as a female while on duty,” he should be left alone. However, if the soldier “later requests to be identified as a female during duty hours and/or experiences increased distress relating to his gender identity,” an officer must “inform [the] soldier of the Army’s transgender policy and recommend that he sees a military medical provider.”
A male soldier who asks to be identified as a female during duty hours has lost his basic sense of reality and should be removed from active duty until he understands again that he is male. But even short of that, the fact that the U.S. military is spending any time and attention on this matter at all is a sign of our deep cultural crisis. An Army spokesman said that “service in the Army is open to all who can meet the standards for military service and readiness. We remain committed to treating all soldiers with dignity and respect while ensuring good order and discipline. Soldiers who meet those standards can serve openly in their self-identified gender.”
Do the standards for military service and readiness still contain any actual military training or is woke indoctrination sufficient now? The military’s job is to win wars, not to coddle soldiers with psychological disorders. The Russian invasion of Ukraine only makes it all the more crucial for the military to drop all of its programs of Leftist indoctrination and instead focus on actually defending the nation against its enemies. But doing that doesn’t appear to be even close to the top of Biden’s handlers’ priorities.
ACLU, ALA, PEN Fight ‘Censorship’ in Schools, That Is, Parents Resisting Leftist Indoctrination

Freedom of expression is under more concerted attack than it has faced in years, and as the censorship efforts of Big Tech demonstrate, that attack is coming from the Left. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), the American Library Association (ALA), and the anti-censorship group PEN America, however, would have you believe that the real threat is coming from the big, grey conservative machine that looms so large in far-Left propaganda. AP ran a story on Tuesday about these admirable warriors, entitled “Activism grows nationwide in response to school book bans.” It is, as you might expect, a near-total inversion of reality: what the Leftists in the story characterize as censorship is actually the effort of parents to roll back at least some of what the Left has done to transform American public schools into centers of Leftist indoctrination.
We are first introduced to a woman named Stephana Ferrell, who was moved to become politically active when her Florida county decided to remove a graphic novel entitled Gender Queer: A Memoir from the local high school’s library. “By winter break,” she says, “we realized this was happening all over the state and needed to start a project to rally parents to protect access to information and ideas in school.” Along with another parent, Ferrell then founded the Florida Freedom to Read Project, which labors to “keep or get back books that have gone under challenge or have been banned.”
This is a deft spin, but it’s a spin nonetheless. Ferrell and her ilk aren’t fighting against some entrenched conservative establishment that is banning books left and right that don’t conform to the MAGA worldview. There is, of course, no such establishment. There is, rather, an educational establishment that is wholly under the control of the Left, and that has been pushing to get books such as Gender Queer: A Memoir into schools in order to break down traditional morality even more than it is already. Some parents have taken it upon themselves to try to resist this effort. And now, for AP, as well as the ACLU, the ALA, the National Coalition Against Censorship (NCAC), PEN America, and others, they’re the censors.
The ACLU, PEN America, and the NCAC have been astroturfing this effort to strike back at the supposed censors. According to AP, the three groups “have been working with local activists, educators and families around the country, helping them ‘to prepare for meetings, to draft letters and to mobilize opposition,’ according to PEN America’s executive director, Suzanne Nossel.” These people are awash in cash: “The CEO of Penguin Random House, Markus Dohle, has said he will personally donate $500,000 for a book defense fund to be run in partnership with PEN. Hachette Book Group has announced ‘emergency donations’ to PEN, the NCAC, and the Authors Guild.”
These well-heeled activists also have the ACLU mounting legal battles for them, fighting the removal of books including Gender Queer. “The civil liberties union has also filed open records requests in Tennessee and Montana over book bans, and a warning letter in Mississippi against what it described as the ‘unconstitutionality of public library book bans.'” Vera Eidelman of the ACLU cited a 1982 Supreme Court case stating that “local school boards may not remove books from school library shelves simply because they dislike the ideas contained in those books.”

The irony couldn’t be thicker. Local school boards, contrary to the impression that AP gives, are not hotbeds of reactionaries and anti-intellectual yahoos. Up until the recent book controversies, they were generally as dominated by Leftists as everything else in America today. Conservative parents are only fighting back now because they have begun to be aware of the effects of decades of Leftist domination of the educational establishment. The Leftist activists AP celebrates in its article aren’t fighting to get books defending the traditional family, arguing against the wisdom of encouraging and celebrating transgenderism, or praising Washington, Jefferson, and other Founding Fathers out of schools, because for the most part, those books aren’t there in the first place. The Leftist activists are just fighting to preserve the gains that the Left has made in recent years in the culture wars.
The AP article concludes by telling a story about how the Round Rock Black Parents Association in Texas fought to prevent Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You by Ibram X. Kendi and Jason Reynolds, a piece of race-hate agitprop, from being taken off middle school reading lists. A Leftist activist recounts proudly, “We had children speaking up in favor of this book, even though it was traumatic for some of them to read. We had everyone from middle school students to grandmothers and grandfathers stating their reasons why this should remain on the shelves. The board ended up voting in our favor and the book is still there.” Heartwarming.
Imagine, however, the outcry if a book calling for racial equality and arguing against Critical Race Theory had somehow gotten onto the curriculum in Round Rock. In the first place, that never would have happened at all. But if it did, there would be an outcry in the establishment media, the book would be removed, and that would be that. Censorship is usually the act of the powerful, silencing the powerless. The powerful in America’s schools today are all on the Left. AP’s propaganda won’t change that.

The two highlights of President Biden’s State of the Union speech last night were also its most risible moments.
President Biden wants to secure the border by giving illegal aliens amnesty, and he declared that Americans must stop treating each other as enemies in disputes over the proper way to handle the China virus.
Apparently lost on his speechwriters were two simple facts: Biden invited the mass invasion at the border, and he declared that Americans who were not vaccinated against the Asiatic pathogen were responsible for spreading it. That, of course, was a bald-faced lie.
It’s About Them, Not Us
Biden’s border blather made one thing clear: His main concern is importing illegal and legal immigrants to change the country demographically, vote for Democrats, and cement permanent power.
“If we are to advance liberty and justice, we need to secure the border and fix the immigration system,” Biden said, and then continued:
We can do both. At our border, we’ve installed new technology like cutting-edge scanners to better detect drug smuggling.
We’ve set up joint patrols with Mexico and Guatemala to catch more human traffickers.
We’re putting in place dedicated immigration judges so families fleeing persecution and violence can have their cases heard faster.
We’re securing commitments and supporting partners in South and Central America to host more refugees and secure their own borders.
Then came an appeal for an illegal-alien amnesty, which is nearly in effect now. Biden’s Homeland Security chief, Cuban visa fraudster Alejandro Mayorkas, has repeatedly vowed to not enforce immigration law. Deportations of illegals have virtually halted as Biden dumps illegals from the border into American towns and cities.
“We can do all this while keeping lit the torch of liberty that has led generations of immigrants to this land — my forefathers and so many of yours.” Biden continued:
Provide a pathway to citizenship for Dreamers, those on temporary status, farm workers, and essential workers.
Revise our laws so businesses have the workers they need and families don’t wait decades to reunite.
It’s not only the right thing to do — it’s the economically smart thing to do.
That’s why immigration reform is supported by everyone from labor unions to religious leaders to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
Let’s get it done once and for all.
That “pathway to citizenship for DREAMers” and legalization of “essential” foreign workers is the amnesty that the Senate failed to pass in Biden’s Build Back Better bill. Labor unions need immigrants to fill their thinning ranks; Big Business wants cheap labor; and Democrats, again, will get the votes.
To their credit, GOP Representatives Lauren Boebert of Colorado and Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia shouted “build the wall.”
Stop Hating Each Other
Risible moment No. 2 was Biden’s appeal for Americans to stop hating each other because of the China virus.
“For more than two years, COVID-19 has impacted every decision in our lives and the life of the nation,” Biden said. “And I know you’re tired, frustrated, and exhausted.”
In fact, most Americans likely aren’t “tired, frustrated, and exhausted,” because they began ignoring Biden’s diktats long ago, but in any event, Biden generously said that mask mandates had ended:
Just a few days ago, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention — the CDC — issued new mask guidelines.
Under these new guidelines, most Americans in most of the country can now be mask free.
And based on the projections, more of the country will reach that point across the next couple of weeks.
What a Guy!
After touting his many achievements in battling the virus and vowing to “continue vaccinating the world” with the hard-earned income of American taxpayers, he offered this:
We have lost so much to COVID-19. Time with one another. And worst of all, so much loss of life.
Let’s use this moment to reset. Let’s stop looking at COVID-19 as a partisan dividing line and see it for what it is: A God-awful disease.
Let’s stop seeing each other as enemies, and start seeing each other for who we really are: Fellow Americans.
Biden didn’t see it that way in September. Back then, he blamed the spread of the disease on those who refused to be vaccinated with an experimental elixir that had serious, if not fatal side effects.
“While the vaccines provide strong protections for the vaccinated, we read about, we hear about, and we see the stories of hospitalized people, people on their death beds, among the unvaccinated over these past few weeks.” He continued:
This is a pandemic of the unvaccinated. And it’s caused by the fact that despite America having an unprecedented and successful vaccination program, despite the fact that for almost five months free vaccines have been available in 80,000 different locations, we still have nearly 80 million Americans who have failed to get the shot.
In fact, as the data eventually showed, most of those who contract the virus and become dangerously ill or even die are vaccinated. The protection from the vaccines wanes after about six months.
Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi were maskless, as was his audience in the packed chamber of the House of Representatives.
U.S. Energy Dependence on Russia Soaring, Biden Pressed to Stop Paying for Putin’s Wars

The talk about the importance of the United States achieving energy independence has been going on for decades. Wouldn’t it be great if America produced enough energy to avoid relying on the rest of the world to satisfy its needs in manufacturing, agriculture, and filling up gas tanks? Well, while that seemingly elusive goal was achieved in 2020 when America produced more petroleum than she consumed, it is no longer the case. Worse yet, the country that America is buying oil from is Russia, which is becoming a political outcast over its senseless war in Ukraine. The pressure is now growing on President Biden to reverse his policies that have brought America to this point of energy dependence.
How dependent on Russian oil are we? The data is discouraging. According to preliminary 2021 figures released Monday by the Energy Information Administration, the United States imported 245 million barrels of Russian crude oil and petroleum products last year, a surge of about 24 percent over 2020.
Martin Durbin, senior vice president for policy at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, raised concerns over this trend, saying, “This equates to nearly 672,000 barrels per day — an all-time record and a 79% increase from just four years ago.”
He continued,
With oil prices now pushing $100 per barrel and Russia dependent on energy sales to fund the government’s budget — including its military and the invasion of Ukraine — the leverage Russia’s energy exports exert over the West is now on display for the world to see.
To address the situation, Durbin proposes a couple of “no-brainers,” starting with the United States lifting its ban on leasing and accelerating permitting on federal land.
He also urged the Energy Department to approve permits for six new and expanded liquefied natural gas (LNP) terminals, some of which have languished for months — and in some cases years. That project, Durbin says, would increase natural-gas export capacity by roughly a quarter, which would be especially beneficial with European consumers such as Germany looking to cut their ties with Russia.
In addition to that, the administration should liberalize its permitting policies to build new pipelines, which would boost access to plentiful domestic natural gas resources.
And finally, Durbin called on investing $300 million in the so-called Three Seas Initiative, which would create infrastructure in eastern European countries to import American natural gas.
On Tuesday, Senator Roger Marshall (R-Kan.) introduced legislation to ban the American purchase of Russian oil.
“First and foremost, President Biden needs to restart America’s energy production and quit financing Vladimir Putin’s war on Ukraine by continuing to purchase crude oil from Russia. Under the previous Administration, our nation was energy-independent but President Biden reversed course and turned hostile nations like Russia into America’s gas station,” said the senator in a statement.
“Why are we importing oil from Russia when the natural resources we need are in our backyard? Russian oil and gas funds Vladimir Putin’s aggression in Europe. North Dakota and American oil can and should fill the gap,” said Senator Kevin Cramer (N.D.).
Restoring America’s energy independence, said Senator Jerry Moran (Kan.), “can’t be accomplished without enabling our oil and gas producers to play a larger role.”
One of the most important things that must be done, the senators believe, is immediately restarting the Keystone XL Pipeline. Built in June 2010, the system carried over 800,000 barrels a day from Alberta, Canada, to refineries in the United States. It was first stalled by Barack Obama, then resurrected by President Donald Trump, and finally killed by President Biden on his first day in office.
As a result, the imports of Russian oil spiked to record highs. As reported by The New American last June:
Within months of President Biden halting the Keystone Pipeline, pausing new oil and gas leases on federal lands, and imposing further restrictions on U.S. oil companies in the name of countering “climate change,” U.S. imports of crude oil and other petroleum products from Russia set a new record, reaching 22.9 million barrels in March, the highest level since August 2010. Crude oil imports alone stood at 6.1 million barrels, making Russia the third-largest oil exporter to the United States.
National Review pointed out that the oil situation deteriorated for the United States last year, and that in August, Russia became the second-largest exporter of oil to the United States. “Think that might be a reason Putin feels so confident?” wondered the outlet.
Asked about America’s plan to cut off oil and gas purchases from Russia amid the Russian invasion of Ukraine, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken signaled it is not going to happen.
“Well, what we’re doing … is making sure that we inflict maximum pain on Russia for what President Putin has done while minimizing any of the pain to us,” Blinken said.
On February 23, when Russia recognized the independence of two Ukrainian breakaway republics and moved its forces into Ukrainian territory, Reuters reported the Biden administration had no plans of “target[ing] Russia’s crude oil and refined fuel sector with sanctions cutting off trade, due to concerns about inflation and the harm it could do to its European allies, global oil markets, and U.S. consumers.”
In the meantime, the Biden administration continues to peddle its “climate change” agenda. On Monday, U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm reiterated the administration’s support for spending taxpayer money on “green energy,” supposedly “the best way to reduce domestic and international dependence on Russian oil and gas” and achieve net-zero American emissions by 2050.
US Unprecedented Excess Death Toll Keeps Climbing

More than 1 million excess deaths have been recorded since the COVID-19 pandemic began nearly two years ago, according to data released by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. These deaths are not all due to COVID-19, however, as higher numbers of deaths from heart disease, high blood pressure, dementia, and other illnesses occurred during the pandemic.1
“We’ve never seen anything like it,” Robert Anderson, CDC’s head of mortality statistics, told The Washington Post.2 Health officials would have you believe that the majority of these excess deaths were due to COVID-19, but even the CDC states, on their webpage tracking provisional death counts for COVID-19:3
“Finally, the estimates of excess deaths reported here may not be due to COVID-19, either directly or indirectly. The pandemic may have changed mortality patterns for other causes of death. Upward trends in other causes of death (e.g., suicide, drug overdose, heart disease) may contribute to excess deaths in some jurisdictions. Future analyses of cause-specific excess mortality may provide additional information about these patterns.”
Excess Deaths ‘Only Partly Explained’ by COVID-19
In a study analyzing U.S. mortality data from March 2020 to July 2020, a 20% increase in excess deaths was found, but it was “only partly explained” by COVID-19. “Surges in excess deaths varied in timing and duration across states and were accompanied by increased mortality from non–COVID-19 causes,” researchers noted in a research letter published in JAMA.4
In an update to the analysis, using data for the remainder of 2020, a 22.9% increase in all-cause mortality was reported from March 1, 2020, to January 2, 2021, and an increase in death rates from non-COVID-19 diseases — including heart disease, diabetes and Alzheimer’s — was noted.5
In another example, excess mortality — that is, deaths in excess of the historical average — due to causes other than COVID-19 has also risen among males and minorities, particularly black males.
“Early evidence suggests a combination of factors, including deaths of despair, murders, uninfected Alzheimer’s patients, reduced health care use, and economic dislocation” were responsible for the significant increase in excess mortality among minorities, with researchers writing in PNAS, “Nearly half of the excess life years lost in 2020 are due to non–COVID-19 causes.”6
Excess Deaths Not Caused by COVID-19 Are Their Own Pandemic
University of Warwick researchers looked into the determinants of extra deaths that occurred during the pandemic, which were not due to COVID-19. Referring to these deaths as “collateral damage of the pandemic,” they found that “the scale of excess non-COVID deaths is large enough for it to be seen as its own pandemic.”7
Causes of the rise in non-COVID excess deaths include avoidance of health care facilities due to fear of COVID-19 and delayed diagnosis and treatment for other conditions. Non-COVID excess deaths were higher in areas with more stringent pandemic responses, like lockdowns, with researchers noting:8
“It lends some initial evidence to the theory that lockdowns increase excess deaths by providing a barrier to healthcare, worsening mental health and increasing domestic abuse and alcohol consumption.”
On Twitter, Silicon Valley software engineer Ben M. (@USMortality) revealed that, as of January 27, 2022, U.S. excess mortality for 2021 was about 16%, compared to 13.6% in 2020.9 That is, excess mortality increased in 2021 — the year COVID-19 shots became prevalent.
He tweeted, “2022 starting off with almost the same slope as 2021 … Excess mortality remains high even in 2022. Currently at around +23% for the latest week 2/2022.” In absolute numbers, he said, it comes down to nearly 15,000 more people dying per week than expected.
Previously, Ben M. revealed that in a 13-week period in late 2021, about 107,700 seniors died above the normal rate, despite a 98.7% vaccination rate.10 In another example, he used data from the CDC, census.gov and his own calculations to show excess deaths rising in Vermont even as the majority of adults have been injected.
“Vermont had 71% of their entire population vaccinated by June 1, 2021,” he tweeted in November. “That’s 83% of their adult population, yet they are seeing the most excess deaths now since the pandemic!”11
Deaths Increasing Despite Mass Injections
Excess deaths continuing into 2021, after widespread COVID-19 injections that were supposed to end the pandemic and save lives, is revealing. In one snapshot, in the week ending November 12, 2021, the U.K. reported 2,047 more deaths than occurred during the same period between 2015 and 2019. COVID-19 was listed on the death certificates for only 1,197 people.12
Further, since July 2021, non-COVID deaths in the U.K. have been higher than the weekly average in the five years prior to the pandemic.
Heart disease and strokes appear to be behind many of the excess deaths, with the Financial Times reporting, “The new phase of excess deaths raises the possibility that since the summer more people have been losing their lives as a result of strains on the NHS or lack of early diagnosis of serious illness …”13
An investigation by The Exposé, using official data from NHS and the U.K.’s Office for National Statistics (ONS), found that deaths among teenagers increased 47% since they started getting COVID-19 shots.14
Between the week ending June 26, 2020, and the week ending September 18, 2020, 148 deaths were reported among 15- to 19-year-olds. However, between the week ending June 25, 2021, and the week ending September 17, 2021, 217 deaths occurred among 15- to 19-year-olds. According to the investigation:15
“This shows that the number of deaths between June 19th 2021 and September 17th 2021 among teens aged 15 and over were 47% higher than the number of deaths in this age group during the same period in 2020, and the increase in deaths began at precisely the same time teens started receiving the Covid-19 vaccine.
Our investigation of ONS data also revealed further concerns about Covid-19 deaths in people between the age of 15 and 19. The same 2021 ONS dataset shows that since teens started getting the Covid-19 vaccine there has been at least one Covid-19 related death recorded in seven of the thirteen weeks between June 19th and September 17th 2021. A total of 8 deaths in this time frame.
Yet in the fifteen weeks prior to teens over the age of 15 receiving the Covid-19 vaccine, just a single death was recorded associated with Covid-19 among this age group.
Correlation does not equal causation, but it is extremely concerning to see that deaths have increased by 47% among teens over the age of 15, and Covid-19 deaths have also increased among this age group since they started receiving the Covid-19 vaccine, and it is perhaps one coincidence too far.”
More Younger Working-Age People Are Dying
Former BlackRock portfolio manager Edward Dowd has also pointed out “a spike in mortality among younger, working-age individuals [that] coincided with vaccine mandates. The spike in younger deaths peaked in Q3 2021 when COVID deaths were extremely low (but rising into the end of September).”16
Dowd also reported data from public funeral home company Carriage Services, which announced a 28% increase in September 2021 compared to September 2020, while August had a 13% increase. He tweeted:
“Business has been quite good since the introduction of the vaccines & the stock was up 106% in 2021. Curious no? Guys this is shocking as 89% of Funeral homes are private in US. We are seeing the tip of the iceberg.”17,18
Life insurance and disability claims, along with hospital death rates, are also revealing, and all have seen an uptick. Scott Davison, the CEO of Indiana-based insurance company OneAmerica, is among those who reported disturbing statistics — the death rate for 18- to 64-year-olds has risen 40% compared to before the pandemic.
"We are seeing, right now, the highest death rates we have seen in the history of this business – not just at OneAmerica," Davison said, adding, “Just to give you an idea of how bad that is, a three-sigma or a one-in-200-year catastrophe would be 10% increase over pre-pandemic. So 40% is just unheard of.”19 Further, most of the deaths are not due to COVID-19. He said:20
"What the data is showing to us is that the deaths that are being reported as COVID deaths greatly understate the actual death losses among working-age people from the pandemic. It may not all be COVID on their death certificate, but deaths are up just huge, huge numbers."
Mortality Rates and Death Claims Rising Post-Shots
Brian Tabor, president of the Indiana Hospital Association, confirmed that hospitals are also seeing widespread ill health and rising death rates. Zero Hedge reported:21
“Brian Tabor, the president of the Indiana Hospital Association, said that hospitals across the state are being flooded with patients “with many different conditions,” saying “unfortunately, the average Hoosiers’ health has declined during the pandemic.”
In a follow-up call, he said he did not have a breakdown showing why so many people in the state are being hospitalized – for what conditions or ailments. But he said the extraordinarily high death rate quoted by Davison matched what hospitals in the state are seeing. "What it confirmed for me is it bore out what we're seeing on the front end ..." he said.”
Other insurance companies citing higher mortality rates include Hartford Insurance Group, which announced mortality increased 32% from 2019 and 20% from 2020 prior to the shots. Lincoln National also stated death claims have increased 13.7% year over year and 54% in quarter 4 compared to 2019.22 Dowd tweeted:23
“Randy Frietag CFO just explained that in 2021 the share of young people dying from covid doubled in the back half of the year & that's driven the result for Lincoln & its peers. He cited 40% in 3Q and 35% in 4Q were below the age of 65 … Mandates are killing folks … This shouldn’t be happening with miracle vaccines in a working age population period and a mild Omicron.”
US Seeks Additional $30 Billion to Fight COVID-19
Meanwhile, the White House is seeking another $30 billion to fight COVID-19, including $17.9 billion for vaccines and treatments, $4.9 billion for testing, $3 billion to cover coronavirus care for uninsured people, and $3.7 billion to prepare for future variants.24
The news comes amid a bombshell release by The New York Times, which revealed that the CDC has been collecting important data about COVID-19 all along, but hasn’t released most of it to the public. Information such as U.S. hospitalizations for COVID-19 according to age, race and injection status have been kept quiet, as has the effectiveness of COVID-19 booster shots among 18- to 49-year-olds.25
“Let’s be clear,” Steve Kirsch, executive director of the Vaccine Safety Research Foundation wrote. “The CDC hid the data because the data proves they were lying to us. That’s the real reason. If the data was favorable, I guarantee you, they would be releasing it.”26
Clarity on excess death data — specifically how many are truly attributable to COVID-19 and how many to other causes — is also essential for the public to make informed decisions about health care, shots and lifestyle during the pandemic, but such clarity is clearly lacking from the CDC.
2 Million Children Must Be Jabbed to Prevent 1 ICU Admission

After analyzing the medical data of 10.9 million insured individuals, one large health insurance company concluded that 400,000 doctors’ visits could be realistically attributed to jab side effects. Extrapolated to the total population of Germany, the total number of jab side effects requiring medical care would be 3 million, about 1,000% higher than admitted by the German Ministry of Health

In mid-February 2022, the U.K. started rolling out the COVID jab for children aged 5 to 11. In the U.S., the shot has been recommended for this age group since October 2021.1
The question raised in a Nick De Bois interview with Jamie Jenkins,2 former head of health and labor market analysis at the British Office for National Statistics (above), is ‘Why bother injecting kids this young?’ The risk COVID-19 presents to children is minuscule.
What’s more, the British Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunization (JCVI) estimates that by the end of January 2022, 85% of children aged 5 to 11 already had natural immunity.3 Add to that the fact that the prevailing variant, Omicron, is far milder than previous strains, causing only mild cold symptoms in most people, including children.
Together, these three facts ought to make it clear that children don’t need this jab. A cost-benefit analysis4 by Stephanie Seneff, Ph.D., and researcher Kathy Dopp, also shows the COVID jab actually increases children’s risk of dying from COVID infection. Children under 18 are also 51 times more likely to die from the jab than they are to die from COVID if not vaccinated.
Bill Gates Saddened by Widespread Natural Immunity
Bill Gates has even gone on record acknowledging that Omicron is creating widespread immunity. What’s so remarkable and revealing about his comment is the way he said it. He actually bemoaned the effectiveness of Omicron, as if it’s a horrible thing, saying:5
“SADLY, the virus itself, particularly the variant called Omicron, is a type of vaccine, in that it creates both T cell and B cell immunity, and it’s done a better job of getting out to the population than we have with vaccines.”
As noted by Jenkins, “What’s so sad about that?”6
Four Million Doses Required to Prevent a Single ICU Admission
An astounding statistic Jenkins does bring up is that 4 million doses must be administered to children, 5 to 11 years of age, to prevent a single ICU admission in this age group.7 Assuming two doses per child, that means 2 million children must take their chances with serious and potentially lifelong side effects to prevent a single child from requiring intensive care due to COVID-19. How is this justified? As explained in Jenkins’ website:8
“JCVI has said that vaccination of children aged 5 to 11 years who are not in a clinical risk group would prevent a relatively small number of hospitalizations or intensive care admissions. For a variant like Omicron, it would take around four million vaccine doses to two million children to prevent one admission to ICU.
For less severe illnesses, 58,000 child vaccinations would prevent one-child hospitalization. Children admitted recently to hospital with COVID had an average length of stay of 1-2 days. The Omicron wave saw no more children in hospital than before Omicron hit the UK.”
Pfizer Backs Off Shots for Children Under 5
While vaccine makers and health agencies have been pushing forward with COVID jabs for babies as young as 6 months, parents with children under 5 can, for now, draw a sigh of relief, as plans to roll out shots for the under-5 age group have been suspended, at least temporarily.
February 11, 2022, Pfizer withdrew its U.S. Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) application for children under 5.9,10 According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and Pfizer, they want to collect more data on the effects of a third dose, as two doses did not produce expected immunity in 2- to 5-year-olds.11
Three days later, former FDA Commissioner and current Pfizer board member Scott Gottlieb told CNBC12 the EUA application was pulled because COVID cases are so low among young children that the shot couldn’t be shown to provide much of a benefit.
Considering you have to give the jab to some 2 million children to prevent a single ICU stay, it’s no wonder they can’t show effectiveness in studies that have just a few thousand children. Pfizer’s youth trial on 5- to 11-year-olds had just 2,268 participants, and only two-thirds of those received the real COVID jab.13
However, the OpenVAERS team suspects there may be something far more problematic behind Pfizer’s withdrawal. In a February 21, 2022, email notice to subscribers, OpenVAERS stated:
“None of these explanations suffice because all of that information was known prior to Pfizer submitting this EUA to the FDA on February 1 [2022]. It makes one wonder whether adverse events in the treatment group might be the factor that neither Pfizer nor the FDA want to talk about?
So, we decided to look at reports of injury associated with COVID-19 vaccines in children 17 and younger. Remember, these shots have only been on the market for a short while and only children 5 to 17 are eligible. We created a separate page called Child Reports that will update automatically as new reports come in.
We were shocked by what we found — 34,223 VAERS reports in the U.S. in this age range, including infants harmed through transmission from the mother via breast milk, lots of reports of kids receiving shots who were too young (either the parents lied about their age or the doctor/pharmacy made a mistake with screening or dosing), and heartbreaking reports of myocarditis and death.”
Shocking Data From Israel Show Extent of Side Effects
While health agencies and mainstream media still insist that side effects from the COVID jab are “rare,” real-world data show a different story. An English translation of the report can be downloaded from Galileo Is Back on Substack.14 As noted in the report:
“On December 20, 2020, a vaccination program was launched in Israel using Pfizer's vaccine for COVID-19. By the end of March 2021, more than half of the population had been vaccinated with two vaccine doses.
The decrease in immunity over time and emergence of new variants led to a renewed increase in morbidity in Israel in the summer of 2021. By the end of July 2021, a third shot of the vaccine (booster shot) was authorized for everyone who had received two shots and at least five months had passed from the second shot.
From data collection by medical teams or self-reporting by the public of side-effects in temporal proximity (passive monitoring), it appears that there is underreporting; therefore, it is important to identify side-effects in temporal proximity to vaccination with the booster in an active manner via a dedicated survey.
General goals: To determine the frequency of side-effects which appeared within 21-30 days from vaccination with the third Pfizer shot (booster) against COVID-19 among citizens above 18 years of age.
Specific goals: Examine the prevalence of side-effects in temporal proximity to the third shot grouped according to age and gender. Examine the time of onset relative to administration of the vaccine and the duration thereof, and to compare it with the side-effects of previous vaccines.”
In all, 2,894 people were contacted and 2,068 agreed to be interviewed (response rate: 71.4%). Of those 2,068 boosted individuals:
- 0.3% required hospitalization for an adverse event
- 4.5% experienced one or more neurological problems (2.1% of men and 6.9% of women), such as tingling or itching sensation, Bell’s palsy, vision damage, memory deterioration, hearing damage, convulsions, loss of consciousness and more
- 9.6% of women under the age of 54 experienced menstrual irregularities. Of those, “39% suffered from similar side-effects after prior COVID-19 vaccinations; however, most (67%) indicated that the side-effects waned prior to the third vaccination and returned after receiving it”
- 26.4% of those with preexisting anxiety disorder or depression experienced a worsening of their symptoms
- 24.2% of those with preexisting autoimmune disorders experienced exacerbation of disease
Between 6.3% and 9.3% of those with preexisting high blood pressure, lung disease, diabetes and heart disease also reported that their condition was exacerbated after the third booster. A small number of women, but no men, also reported herpes infections (0.4% for herpes simplex infections and 0.3% for herpes zoster). Other key take-home’s from this Israeli report are that:
- Side-effects are more common among women and younger people
- 1 in 10 women suffer menstrual irregularities
- Neurological side effects typically don’t appear until about a month after the jab
- In the majority of cases, the occurrence of a given side effect was not more severe after the third shot compared to the two previous doses. Put another way, the severity of side effects tends to be the same, regardless of the number of doses, so these finding can perhaps be applied to doses 1 and 2 as well
German Health Insurance Data Show Alarming Side Effect Rates
German health insurance data are also triggering alarms. Andreas Schöfbeck, a board member of a large insurance company called BKK ProVita, shared the data with Die Welt.15
They analyzed the medical data of 10.9 million insured individuals, looking for potential COVID jab side effects. To their horror, they found 400,000 doctors’ visits could be realistically attributed to the jab. According to Schöfbeck, extrapolated to the total population of Germany, the total number of doctors’ visits attributable to jab side effects would be 3 million.
“The number that resulted from our analysis are very far away from the publicly announced numbers [by the Ministry of Health]. It would be unethical not to talk about it,” Schöfbeck told Die Welt, adding that the data are “an alarming signal.” As reported by Die Welt (translated from German):16
“From January to August 2021 ... around 217,000 of just under 11 million BBK policyholders had to be treated for vaccination side effects — while the Paul Ehrlich Institute keeps only 244,576 side effect reports based on 61.4 million vaccinated ...
Thus, the number of vaccine side effects would be more than 1,000 percent higher than the PEI reports ... With his analysis, Schöfbeck turned to a wide range of institutions — from the German Medical Association and the StiKo to the Paul Ehrlich Institute itself.
He said the figures were a ‘strong alarm signal’ that ‘absolutely must be taken into account in the further use of vaccines.’ His figures could be validated by the same data analyses of other health insurance companies, he says ...
Since ‘danger to human life cannot be ruled out,’ he set a deadline of 6 p.m. Tuesday [February 22, 2022] to respond to his letter. As this passed, they turned to the public.”
Autopsy Results in Teens Reveal Heart Damage
Getting back to the issue of children and the danger we’re putting them in by giving them this shot, two autopsies of teenage boys who died within days of their COVID jabs revealed the shot caused their deaths. As reported by The Defender:17
“The three pathologists, two of whom are medical examiners, published their findings Feb. 14 in an early online release article,18 ‘Autopsy Histopathologic Cardiac Findings in Two Adolescents Following the Second COVID-19 Vaccine Dose,’ in the Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
The authors’ findings were conclusive. Two teenage boys were pronounced dead in their homes three and four days after receiving the second Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 dose. There was no evidence of active or previous COVID-19 infection. The teens had negative toxicology screens (i.e., no drugs or poisons were present in their bodies). These boys died from the vaccine.”
Histopathological examination revealed that neither of the boys’ hearts had signs of typical myocarditis. Instead, what they found were changes consistent with catecholamine-mediated stress cardiomyopathy, also known as toxic cardiomyopathy.
This is a temporary kind of heart injury that can develop in response to extreme physical, chemical or emotional stressors. Another common term for this kind of injury is “broken heart syndrome.” Hyperinflammatory states such as severe COVID-19 infection can also cause this kind of injury to the heart.

Curiously, neither of the boys had any symptoms of myocarditis before they died. One had complained of a headache and upset stomach. The other had not mentioned any symptoms. As noted by The Defender:19
“This is extremely concerning. These boys had smoldering, catastrophic heart injuries with no symptoms. How many others have insidious cardiac involvement from vaccination that won’t manifest until they get a serious case of COVID-19 or the flu? Or perhaps when they subject themselves to the physical stress of competitive sports?
These findings suggest a significant subset of COVID-19 deaths in the vaccinated could be due to the vaccines themselves. Furthermore, it raises this question: How often does this condition exist in a latent form in vaccinated individuals?”
Myocarditis Risk in Young Men Is Not Rare
U.S. Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS) data also raise questions about the risk of potentially lethal myocarditis, especially in boys. The following slide was presented during a June 23, 2021, meeting convened by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), to discuss the risk of myopericarditis.20
As you can see, the observed rates of myocarditis and/or pericarditis for several age groups, and especially among males, are significantly higher than the expected background rate.
This is a loud and clear safety signal, yet the ACIP proceeded to recommend the shot to preteens and teens anyway, and in a public statement21 insisted that myopericarditis is “an extremely rare side effect” that “only an exceedingly small number of people will experience after vaccination.” How can they say that with data like this right in front of their noses?
Based on this VAERS data, the rate of myocarditis is about 6.5 per 100,000 doses in 12- to 17-year-olds. Going back to where we started, 4 million doses are required to prevent a single child, 5 to 11 years of age, from being admitted to the ICU for COVID.
Assuming the rate of myocarditis in 5- to 11-year-olds is identical to that of 12- to 17-year-olds, we could potentially be looking at 260 cases of myocarditis for every ICU admission for COVID that we prevent. On the whole, the COVID jab provides only risk for children under 18, so there’s absolutely no justification for it.
