House Health Committee Receives Reports on Inhumane Taxpayer-Funded Experiments with Aborted Baby Parts at Pitt University

In consideration of recent federal actions to force American taxpayers to pay for abortions worldwide, this week, the House Health Committee, of which I am a member, convened the fourth in a series of public hearings focused on pro-life and abortion issues.

The topic for Tuesday’s hearing was Fetal Experimentation.

The hearing featured presentations from former abortionist Dr. Kathi Aultman, OB/GYN, Charlotte Lozier Institute Associate Scholar; Jeremy Rich, MD, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine; Henry T. Greely, Stanford University Professor of Law, Steering Committee Chair, Center for Biomedical Ethics; and David Daleiden, founder, Center for Medical Progress.

Most of the testimony centered around recent reports of University of Pittsburgh scientists and faculty being deeply involved in taxpayer-funded experiments with aborted baby parts, including Planned Parenthood of Western PA supplying harvested aborted baby parts for the university’s human tissue bank.

Unfortunately, the unethical and inhumane research taking place at Pitt is far from an isolated incident. Last year, Pitt student researchers published details on experiments where scalps and “full-thickness human skin” from aborted babies (18-20 weeks gestation) were grafted onto lab rats. Additionally, lymphoid tissue, livers, and spleens from the same aborted babies were co-engrafted into the same rodent models.

In the video clip above, I thanked Mr. Daleiden for his outstanding undercover video reporting that has exposed Planned Parenthood for selling aborted baby parts and asked for his suggestions on the next steps that should be taken in terms of tougher enforcement and greater oversight authority for regulating fetal experimentation taking place across the Commonwealth.

UK rape gang victim, abused by hundreds of Muslim migrants, tells how she was dismissed by police, social workers

A Muslim rape gang victim, “Sarah,” tells the story of how hundreds of Pakistani Muslim men raped and abused her along with other girls in the “care system.” Social workers and “care” staff knew exactly what was going on, but did nothing. In fact, at 14, Sarah was scapegoated and blamed for her own rapes by social workers and ignored by police, as Muslim rape gangs continued to severely abuse the girls, pimp them out and traffick them.

BBC reported in February about the deplorable state of Britain’s “unregulated homes for children” that only recently became regulated:

BBC News investigations revealed that children as young as 11 were being housed in these homes, and young people faced “organised abuse” in placements.
The ban does not affect thousands of placements of 16 and 17 year-olds in unregulated homes.
Children’s minister Vicky Ford said “every child deserves a stable and loving home”.

Children in these homes have been perfect targets for Muslim rape gangs. They are forgotten children of the state, treated as cattle. They fully trust an establishment that has thrown them to the wolves. This is how Muslim rape gangs are allowed to go on. They prey primarily on the most vulnerable, but no one is safe.

Sarah said: “I was taken to Birmingham a lot – for three years I was repeatedly missing. There were hundreds of men involved in Birmingham….They brought lots of girls from Derby to Birmingham – men from Birmingham would pick us up – and men from Derby would take us to Birmingham.” She referenced these Muslim rape gangs as “predators on the prowl” who “would never change.”

Rather than dedicate the resources needed to end Muslim rape gangs and bring these men to justice, the British system focuses on how to stop “Islamophobia” and crack down on so-called “hate,” as defined by Islamic supremacist special interest groups. Police, social workers and politicians have protected the vilest serial criminals in Britain, out of fear of being called “Islamophobic” and “racist.” These “protectors” have sent the message to Muslim rape gang predators that it’s ok to rape and abuse British girls, particularly those in the “care” system. It’s a windfall for these gangs who use and abuse these girls as sex slaves in keeping with Islamic tenets that permit such treatment toward infidel women. Back in Pakistan, Christian and Hindu girls are routinely forced into marriages, raped and forced to convert. Western feminists prefer to focus on the alleged “toxic masculinity” of white men, while the unspeakable abuses committed by some Muslim men go undiscussed.

Grooming gangs were trafficking girls to Birmingham for decades with police failing to act, a survivor has claimed.

And Sarah, whose name we have changed to protect her identity, has questioned how the West Midlands force has yet to bring groups of offenders to justice as seen in other high profile cases like Rotherham and Telford.

She told how she was abused by predatory gangs while a runaway from care homes in Derby in the early 2000s.

She says Asian men of Pakistani heritage would regularly take her and friends to Birmingham where she was plied with drink and drugs and abused.

In one incident, she claims West Midlands Police officers stopped a car she was in with a group of abusers and another girl.

Despite taking the underage youngsters’ names and ages she says she was allowed on her way with the gang.

Sarah said: “Birmingham police stopped the car and took mine and my friend’s names and the men’s names. I was really scared as I didn’t know what was going to happen but the police just let us drive off.

“When we later got back to my care home the staff told me the police had rung and said we’d been stopped with really dangerous men. I thought, ‘Well if they were that dangerous why did you leave us with them?'”

Sarah says she was extensively groomed and abused in Derby and later repeatedly trafficked between Derby, Birmingham and Bradford by men from Birmingham and Derby.

She said: “I gave Derby police my Birmingham offenders’ names – but no one has ever been charged.

“I know of lots of Derby girls who were groomed in Birmingham, I don’t know why we don’t see high profile grooming cases in court in Birmingham like we have seen elsewhere in the country.”

She added: “I was groomed and abused between 1999 and 2003. And I was really horrendously groomed in Birmingham. It wasn’t just me, lots of girls, and lots of girls I know, were taken from Derby to be abused in Birmingham.

“I gave all the information I had to Derby police in 2012. No one was charged but I was very traumatised and very mentally unwell then so I don’t really know what happened.”

Sarah was born to a drug addict and prostitute mother and endured an unimaginable upbringing.

Her care records, which BirminghamLive has seen, reflect that she was targeted by her mum’s dealers and ‘clients’ from a young age as her ‘evil’ mother allowed sickening attacks to take place in return for drugs.

“I look at it in separate ways,” she recalled.

“On the one hand, my mum was evil. A lot of groomers who groom children just happen to be heroin and crack dealers, they are gang members, they are mafia-type gang members.

“My mum was in care herself, she was abused, she was not believed, she had mental health issues and is on crack and heroin, she’s selling herself on the corner and that’s very normal to her because that is what they let happen to my mum.

“So mum was kind of groomed, you could say, into heroin, exploitation, so in one way I feel that groomers targeted my mum so she’s a kind of victim too. In another way, it’s as though my mum was totally in on my abuse as well.”

She added: “Because I was very young, the reason I got removed from my mum’s care was because her pimps abused me.

“My care records show that I was abused by a man whilst in my mother’s care and social workers believed me – but I was still left with her. I was then abused again and taken into care.

“Then in my early teens I was abused for five years by grooming gangs, mostly Asian men of Pakistani heritage – whilst I was living in care.”…

Two weeks after British Columbia father Rob Hoogland was sentenced to a prison term, he has been freed and is back home! He was imprisoned for violating a “gag order” that barred him from discussing his teenage daughter’s gruesome government-supported “sex-change” procedures.

An angry judge and harsh punishment

As we recently reported, British Columbia Supreme Court Justice Michael Tammen angrily overrode a preliminary plea bargain and sentenced Rob to six months in prison (which would likely have ended up being about 4½ months) and a $30,000 fine. (We have since learned that Rob’s lawyer had rejected the final version of the plea deal, which made it easier for the judge to intervene.)

Tammen was furious that Rob had told MassResistance and others what the government is doing to his daughter – and that MassResistance had subsequently posted incriminating documents exposing the terrible behavior of the “gender clinic.” Tammen said that unless Rob was imprisoned for several months, it would “bring the administration of justice into disrepute.” This sentence is widely considered overly harsh given that it concerns a relatively minor crime and Rob is a first-time offender.

Tammen’s emotional obsession with this case and with punishing Rob is exhibited in a detailed 18-page “Reasons for Judgment” paper he wrote after the sentencing. Like the punishment he gave out, it seems rather excessive given the relatively mundane nature of the “crime.” (Note that Tammen refers to MassResistance in the document only as "MR" so that no one will look us up and see our posts!)

A new attorney takes on the appeal!

After he was jailed, Rob’s friends and family contacted one of the top young criminal-appeal lawyers in British Columbia, Attorney Vincent Larochelle, who has taken the case. Larochelle is a graduate of Oxford Law School, a Rhodes Scholar, and is considered a “rising star” in this field. His fees are coming from the money Rob raised on his GoGetFunding page.

Larochelle successfully filed an appeal for Rob, arguing that his rights were clearly violated under Canada’s Charter of Rights. On April 30, the British Columbia Court of Appeal granted the application for Rob to be released on $1,000 bail until his appeal hearing, which has been scheduled for Nov. 1, 2021.

Strict release order

However, the Court of Appeal’s Release Order has outlined several strict stipulations which Rob is required to obey during this time. These include:

  1. A full and thorough reinstatement of the “gag order”: Rob may not in any way, directly or indirectly, identify himself, his daughter, or anyone else involved with his daughter’s situation by name, nor may he discuss or provide documentation about her medical status, mental health, or treatments. He also may not, through any means, identify himself as the father.
  2. He must keep the peace and be of good behavior, and diligently pursue his appeal.
  3. He must maintain his current employment.
  4. He must remain within the province of British Columbia, and surrender his travel documents to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Rob spoke with us a few days after he got home. It was basically to let us know that he was free because he knew we were very concerned.

He said that he intends to fully abide by all the terms of the Release Order. During the conversation, he did not identify himself by name, nor make any reference to his daughter’s situation or to any of the other people involved.

In the prison

He talked about his experience in the prison since being incarcerated after his initial hearing in March. Rob was a first-time offender who had violated a gag order – a fairly minor, non-violent crime. But Justice Tammen purposefully placed Rob in the North Fraser Pretrial Centre, which is a high-security facility for violent offenders. It has a history of being a brutal place.

It was horrible, Rob said. He was in solitary confinement for 23 hours a day. But during the one hour he was out of his cell, it was even worse. “It’s a very violent place. You had to be very careful because confrontations happened frequently. And the guards would only step in after a person gets beaten up,” he told us.

A letter from a Member of Parliament

What has happened to Rob’s daughter and the grotesque way that Rob was treated by the Court has reverberated across Canada, despite a virtual blackout by the mainstream media. (Only Canada’s alternative press, Rebel News has covered it with any consistency.)

While he was in prison, Rob received a letter from a Member of Parliament, Derek Sloan of Ontario, who is an outspoken conservative. MP Sloan was very supportive. He told Rob:

Stay Strong. The biggest changes come from government overreach like this. This is a tough time, but know that you are in the hearts and minds of many. This is a low point, but it’s things like this that will cause your plight to spread and the government to eventually break. You’re in all of our prayers.

High praise for MassResistance

At the trial, Justice Tammen blamed MassResistance’s refusal to take down the incriminating documents as a reason he was so harsh on Rob. But despite everything that has happened to him, Rob still has high praise for us. Although he was careful to speak in very general terms and not bring up specifics, Rob said that he “absolutely supports what we did” and “is glad that we stood up” to the pressure.

He added that he is angry at the few detractors of MassResistance in British Columbia, particularly the “transgender activist” Jenn Smith. Rob clearly understands the larger fight!

Final thoughts

The government of Canada has become completely out of control in its frightening oppression of citizens who do not submit to the increasingly radical and destructive LGBT movement. The appeals trial starting on Nov. 1 will likely be a landmark event. This time, Rob will have an energetic and skilled attorney with a track record for winning. Will it turn the tide? Rob is personally very upbeat about it! We’ll definitely continue to report this case.

APOSTATE Pastors Protest Pro-Life ‘Heartbeat’ Bill in Texas

One "reverend" claims abortion is a "God-given" right

A group of pro-choice church pastors is protesting pro-life bills expected to pass in Texas.

One Presbyterian pastor, in particular, claimed Texas Senate Bill 8 could expose pastors to legal liability if they recommend abortions.

“The relationship between a parishioner and a pastor is one of sacred trust and cannot be legislated. It cannot be legislated. As God alone is Lord of the conscience and not Caesar,” he said, according to Fox 7.

Senate Bill 8 and its companion bill, HB 1515, would ban abortions when a heartbeat is detected, which can occur as early as four to six weeks in a pregnancy.

Another pro-abortion clergy member claimed it was a “God-given” right to choose an abortion.

“We will never give up our individual consciences, and religious freedom or our God-given right to choose,” she said.

These church leaders actually held a prayer circle at the Texas State Capitol in protest of the two bills.

“The Texas Heartbeat Act will receive a final procedural vote tomorrow and then return to the Texas Senate for approval with amendments,” according to Life News. “The Senate originally passed the Heartbeat act on March 30.”

The House version of the bill passed on a 81-63 vote.

“After the Senate approves again, the Texas Heartbeat Act will be sent to pro-life Governor Greg Abbott, who is expected to sign it into law,” Life News added.

 

Portland BLM/Antifa Draw Guns on Drivers to Enforce No-Go Zone in Broad Daylight

Portland’s revolutionaries from Black Lives Matter and antifa took over a busy street at noon on Wednesday and pulled guns on drivers who dared try to dart past the mob. The groups were holding a rally for a gangland shooter who was killed by police in 2018. That shooting was ruled justified (more below).

The chaotic scene included guns being drawn on white drivers by the multiracial BLM and antifa protesters and one driver drew his own weapon in reply. Someone deployed pepper spray.

A driver was reportedly beaten and held against his will, another had his back window destroyed and shots of some sort were fired by the AK-47- and AR-15-wielding terrorists. Multiple sharp sounds were heard followed by the sound of whooshing air after the militants flattened the tires of a car the gun-wielding crowd had forced to stop. The man was “aided” to the sidewalk, as a live-streamer put it (see the video below).

Antifa/BLM terrorists wield guns as they block citizens from traveling on public streets.

The driver in the video above had his keys, gun, and tools stolen out of his truck, according to Portland police, who finally showed up to take a report in response to an apparently false claim that someone had been hit by one of the cars.

As officers arrived they did not find any pedestrians who claimed to have been struck. The large group had moved away, still walking in nearby streets, some openly carrying firearms. Officers remained in the area searching for anyone who may have been injured and to collect evidence and information.

Additional calls came in from people who had been driving vehicles in the area and who were blocked by the crowd in the street. One person said people in the crowd broke out their vehicle windows, damaged tires, and sprayed them with some kind of irritant near North Interstate Avenue and North Killingsworth Street.

A person in another vehicle blocked by the crowd near North Alberta Street and North Michigan Avenue got into a dispute with people who surrounded him and took a firearm from him, as well as tools and keys.

A video taken of the event doesn’t tell the whole story, of course, and details are few. But you don’t need to see the video to know that this looks like another act of terrorism on the streets of Portland by Antifa thugs. It also highlights again that BLM and their Antifa “security” are armed, dangerous, and willing to confront people who get in their way. As the Left is fond of saying, “by any means necessary.”

This is the banana republic encouraged by Democrats who have run Portland for decades. While city leaders spend time and money on defunding police and diversity-intersectional-art-tax projects and throwing away millions on its nearly 15th year of “ending homelessness in ten years,” actual law-abiding people are being harmed by the scourge of these thugs.

Expect more clashes like this.

Mayor Ted Wheeler’s flaccid denunciations of Antifa and the district attorney setting rioters free when they’re caught red-handed makes Portland an easy target for this kind of lawlessness.

The marchers took over the street at North Interstate Avenue and North Killingworth Street in North Portland. The marchers demanded “justice” for Portlander Patrick Kimmons, who was killed by police in 2018 after he’d shot two people in a gangland shooting. Police demanded he drop his gun and when he didn’t, they shot him. The shooting was declared justified and officers were cleared of any wrongdoing in the case.

Portland does allow open carry of unloaded weapons and concealed carry. But, as I explain in my podcast series, Portland is attempting to do away with self-defense, one conservative at a time.

President Joe Biden, who identifies as a devout Catholic, issued on Wednesday the annual proclamation of a National Day of Prayer, without mentioning any deity.

The National Day of Prayer is an annual day of observance held on the first Thursday of May, designated by the U.S. Congress, when people are asked “to turn to God in prayer and meditation.” The president is required by law (36 U.S.C. § 119) to sign a proclamation each year, encouraging all Americans to pray on this day.

The May 5 statement says that “throughout our history, Americans of many religions and belief systems have turned to prayer for strength, hope, and guidance. Prayer has nourished countless souls and powered moral movements — including essential fights against racial injustice, child labor, and infringement on the rights of disabled Americans.”

“Today, we remember and celebrate the role that the healing balm of prayer can play in our lives and in the life of our Nation,” the Biden’s proclamation reads. “As we continue to confront the crises and challenges of our time — from a deadly pandemic to the loss of lives and livelihoods in its wake, to a reckoning on racial justice, to the existential threat of climate change — Americans of faith can call upon the power of prayer to provide hope and uplift us for the work ahead.”

Additionally, the president attributed the creation of “a Nation of remarkable religious vitality and diversity across the generations” to “the right of all Americans to pray” guaranteed by the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. 

It did not take long for many Americans to realize that Biden’s message, actually, did not include the word “God.” Neither “Jesus” nor “Bible” was mentioned. The most explicit remark Biden seemed to make related to God was, “Because human beings are the most dynamic link to the divine on this planet.” It remained unclear how this communicates with our unique beliefs as a Christian nation, because even pagan religions believe humans have a connection to the divine, including those who sustain this connection with animal and human sacrifices.

Biden included a quote from the late Representative John Lewis (D-Ga.), but couldn’t even bother referencing a Bible verse or Old or New Testament figures.

Historically, every proclamation since 1953 — the first year proclamations were required under law — had included “God” until this year. Most proclamations mentioned “God” multiple times.

Reverend Franklin Graham was shocked by Biden skipping the word “God.” “Of course we need to call on God — and not just some generic ‘gods’ or some ‘power’ in the air – but on God himself, the Creator who made and created this Earth and who sent his Son, Jesus Christ from Heaven to this Earth to save mankind from sin by dying on a cross.” “There is no one else to pray to except to God,” he added.

Conservative radio host Todd Starnes, author of God Less America, also weighed in on Biden’s omission. “Regarding Biden’s godless National Day of Prayer proclamation: The problem with the Democrats is that they don’t believe that we are endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights,” he wrote on Twitter. “They believe we are endowed by the government.”

Christian Broadcasting Network’s Senior Political Analyst David Brody rebuked the speech, tweeting: “Joe Biden’s National Day of Prayer Proclamation has been released and it doesn’t even mention God once! How do you release a proclamation about prayer and not mention God at all? Of course it mentions climate change & racial justice. Truly, this is pathetic…and not surprising!”

In addition to Biden’s literally godless proclamation, an evangelical Christian group was denied use of the U.S. Capitol for prayer service for the first time in decades.

According to Christian Headlines, Reverend Patrick Mahoney, director of the Christian Defense Coalition, was refused to host this year’s National Day of Prayer at the Capitol building. Following the refusal of a traditional request, Reverend Mahoney  tweeted: “After our permit was denied, for the first time in 70 years, there will be NO PUBLIC witness at the U.S. Capitol Building for the National Day Of Prayer! Brothers and sisters, free speech is in danger today in America.”

People of faith believe that there is a blessing and a great power that flows to those who pray. In our impotent humanity, we are blessed to be able to reach upward to God and know that He hears us. But anyone who prays needs to address the One he prays to, as described in John 14:13-14. Prayer requires addressing God directly, not only through the faith of Christianity, which arguably serves as the spiritual foundation of America, but in other major religions practiced among her citizens, such as Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism.

The White House Proclamation in Its Entirety

Throughout our history, Americans of many religions and belief systems have turned to prayer for strength, hope, and guidance. Prayer has nourished countless souls and powered moral movements — including essential fights against racial injustice, child labor, and infringement on the rights of disabled Americans.  Prayer is also a daily practice for many, whether it is to ask for help or strength, or to give thanks over blessings bestowed.

The First Amendment to our Constitution protects the rights of free speech and religious liberty, including the right of all Americans to pray.  These freedoms have helped us to create and sustain a Nation of remarkable religious vitality and diversity across the generations.  

Today, we remember and celebrate the role that the healing balm of prayer can play in our lives and in the life of our Nation.  As we continue to confront the crises and challenges of our time — from a deadly pandemic, to the loss of lives and livelihoods in its wake, to a reckoning on racial justice, to the existential threat of climate change — Americans of faith can call upon the power of prayer to provide hope and uplift us for the work ahead.  As the late Congressman John Lewis once said, “Nothing can stop the power of a committed and determined people to make a difference in our society.  Why?  Because human beings are the most dynamic link to the divine on this planet.”

On this National Day of Prayer, we unite with purpose and resolve, and recommit ourselves to the core freedoms that helped define and guide our Nation from its earliest days.  We celebrate our incredible good fortune that, as Americans, we can exercise our convictions freely — no matter our faith or beliefs.  Let us find in our prayers, however they are delivered, the determination to overcome adversity, rise above our differences, and come together as one Nation to meet this moment in history.

Jihadist regimes have long understood the benefits of indoctrinating children to wage jihad and glorify martyrdom. And so it is no surprise that under Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the jihad ideology has spread into schools:

It gets worse:

The report, by the Israeli research group Institute for Monitoring Peace and Cultural Tolerance in School Education (Impact-se)…assert that recent curricula — in a NATO country that has long aspired to EU membership — include anti-American and anti-Armenian messages, display “sympathy for the motivations of ISIS and Al-Qaeda,” focus exclusively on Sunni Muslim teachings, and replace electives such as Kurdish with religious courses.

The textbooks promote concepts like “Turkish World Domination” and the Turkish or Ottoman “Ideal of the World Order,” the report said.

“Education is a prime pillar in [President Recep Tayyip] Erdogan’s efforts to drape the country in the cloak of Sharia… The Ministry of Education has been pressuring citizens to conform to conservative Islamic practices in public schools,” commented Turkey scholar Soner Cagaptay in a forward to the study.

The study was released as Turkey was attempting to repair relations with Europe and Middle Eastern states, including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Israel, that were bruised by Ankara’s aggressive assertiveness in Libya, Syria, the Caucasus, and the Eastern Mediterranean.

Erdogan spoke in a video conference to European Council President Charles Michel and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in advance of a European summit that was scheduled to discuss relations with Turkey.

The conference came a day after the EU shelved plans to blacklist senior executives of Turkey’s state-owned Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) in retaliation for Turkish drilling for natural gas in disputed waters in the eastern Mediterranean.

The report is likely to add to skepticism about an 11-point human rights action plan recently unveiled by Erdogan that he said would bolster freedoms and legal protections.

Erdogan has undermined freedom of the press and the independence of the judiciary, and arrested thousands on often flimsy charges since he defeated a failed military coup in 2016. As a result, Turkey ranks today as one of the world’s foremost jailers of journalists.

Turkish police recently detained several officials of the pro-Kurdish Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), days after a top public prosecutor demanded the party’s dissolution for alleged links to Kurdish nationalist militants. Parliament also expelled an HDP deputy, undermining Erdogan’s effort to suggest that he is adhering to values projected by Europe and US President Joe Biden….

The Daily Beast reported last week that “The FBI, without any court order, sifted through the National Security Agency’s massive troves of foreign communications for information on American “racially motivated violent extremists,” even though the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance (FISA) Court warned the FBI in 2018 that its warrant-free queries” were unconstitutional. The first question that springs to mind in connection with this is: to whom can we turn when those who are supposed to be protecting us have been thoroughly corrupted and weaponized against the American people? And the second question is: Why are “racially motivated violent extremists” so hard to find that the FBI has to do an illegal deep dive into NSA material to find them?

The FBI is trying to validate the narrative that Old Joe Biden’s handlers had him enunciate (which he did, remarkably, without getting tongue-tied or saying something incoherent) during his message to Congress. “’As I stand here tonight,” Biden intoned Wednesday, “just one day shy of the 100th day of my administration. 100 days since I took the oath of office, lifted my hand off our family Bible, and inherited a nation in crisis. The worst pandemic in a century. The worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. The worst attack on our democracy since the Civil War.”

The idea that the entry of a group of unarmed people into the U.S. Capitol constituted the “worst attack on our democracy since the Civil War” was not just ridiculous (remember 9/11? Pearl Harbor?); it was insidious. Beyond the silliness and hysteria is an insidious agenda. Biden’s handlers mean to stigmatize, demonize and silence all dissent from their far-left agenda. Wildly exaggerating what happened on January 6, and the concomitant “white supremacist agenda,” is in service of that agenda.

And so the FBI goes fishing in material the NSA obtained without a warrant, trying to validate the left’s claims. And this has been a long time coming: Jana Winter reported in Yahoo News in February that “the U.S. government is acknowledging for the first time that right-wing extremists were responsible for the majority of fatal domestic terrorist attacks last year, according to an internal report circulated by the Department of Homeland Security last week.” But as you might expect, the actual report was long on vague assertions and decidedly short on facts.

A multi-millionaire, former chief executive of a private equity group, who has never held political office, is emerging as a top candidate for Virginia governor, as state Republicans prepare to nominate their candidate in the coming November election. Fifty-four-year-old Glenn Youngkin is one of seven Republicans hoping to secure the nomination during the state’s “drive-through” convention, which will take place at 37 locations throughout the state on May 8.

Youngkin hopes to be the GOP candidate to replace the current governor, the controversial Ralph Northam, a Democrat. His likely opponent from the Democrat side looks to be former Virginia governor and longtime Bill and Hillary Clinton associate Terry McAuliffe.

In Virginia, the governor is not allowed to serve consecutive terms, which is why Northam will definitely be out next January.

Youngkin had some harsh words for educators in the state who wish to bow to “woke” elements and remove accelerated and remedial math courses from the state’s schools, as well as teach critical race theory to students.

Speaking to Fox News’ Tucker Carlson on Tuesday, Youngkin lamented the direction that the Virginia Department of Education and some school districts in the state have taken in terms of teaching children.

“What they’re next onto is actually not awarding advanced diplomas to kids who have earned them in high school; to taking the Pledge of Allegiance and the Fourth of July out of the curriculum of things that actually bind us together, unite us as Americans and Virginians. And it just seems that Terry McAuliffe and the left, liberal Democrats here want to take our education policy from having everybody in the fast lane to putting everybody in the broken down lane,” Youngkin said.

“In education, they want to teach our kids what to think,” Youngkin said. “They want to teach them critical race theory and they want to take accelerated math out of the curriculum. “I want to teach our kids how to think, and not have critical race theory in the curriculum and, actually yes, teach accelerated math.”

The Virginia Mathematics Pathway Initiative (VMPI) — a joint project between the Virginia Department of Education, the State Council of Higher Education and the Virginia Community College System — is a proposal to “modernize” the state’s math curriculum. Among the proposals for “modernizing” the math curriculum is to do away with labels such as algebra and geometry and instead blend those courses “into a seamless progression of connected learning.” Instead of the labels for certain types of math, the schools would simply refer to them all as “essential concepts.”

Although state officials have denied that the proposal does away with the various levels of math, many parents in the state are still concerned about much of the language in the VMPI’s proposal.

As for critical race theory being taught, nowhere is that concept more in the news than the Loudon County School District, where teachers have been told to “disrupt and dismantle this systemic racism,” that allegedly occurs throughout America.

According to Youngkin, the reason he quit his high-paying job at private equity giant the Carlyle Group — which reportedly earned him $254 million over the years — and decided to run for governor was that he “could not recognize his home state of Virginia,” after ten years of Democrat rule.

“This is exactly what we’re seeing from the Democrats and particularly Terry McAuliffe is that they’re on the wrong side of every issue.”

“I’m homegrown and I love the commonwealth of Virginia,” Youngkin said. “I was so frustrated with the Republican Party because the Republican Party had not mounted a winning campaign in over ten years. So I left my job and prepared to run for governor.”

While seven GOP candidates are in the running for the nomination on Saturday, election observers believe that it’s really a four-person race with Youngkin, State Senator Amanda Chase, State Representative Kirk Cox, and entrepreneur Pete Snyder.

Chase is actively courting Trump supporters, calling herself “Trump in heels.” Cox appears to be the favorite of the GOP establishment, and Snyder, who is portraying himself as a political outsider, has been endorsed by former Trump officials Sarah Sanders and Ken Cuccinelli. Youngkin, who just snagged an endorsement from prominent GOP Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas), is also running as a political outsider, despite being a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the establishment powerhouse that has exercised extraordinary influence over government policy for generations.

George Santayana’s famous saying “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it” requires some delineation:

  • Those who cannot remember the triumphs of the past are likely condemned not to repeat them, and
  • Those who are told the mistakes of the past were triumphs will repeat them.

New York City parent Andrew Gutmann understands this well. Gutmann, who attracted national attention by issuing a now-viral letter addressed to Brearley School parents warning of the institution’s fatal race obsession, has sounded another alarm.

“We already do a horrific job in this country teaching history, and now we’re going to make that 10 times worse, we’re going to eradicate that,” the father told Fox News in a new interview.

“Our country doesn’t survive not teaching history and civics, and it sure as hell doesn’t survive teaching our children to hate their country and their history.” 

Gutmann is correct: What he warned of regarding posh private school Brearly, which he pulled his daughter from recently after seven years’ attendance, is a nationwide phenomenon.

Moreover, the Critical Race Theory obsession now sweeping academia — which teaches hatred of whites, America, and Western culture — is just the latest iteration of the Howard Zinn-aided, Gramscian march through the institutions that began many, many decades ago.

Gutmann said in his interview that Brearly parents — who pay $54,000-yearly tuition for the indoctrination — and their children were pressured by the school to become Black Lives Matter (BLM) activists.

This is despite BLM being a neo-Marxist organization whose members once chanted that they want “dead cops.” The group also demands the abolition of police; the “repeal of all immigration restrictions”; “the legalization of sex work”; “the destruction of the Western-prescribed nuclear family”; and, according to a report last year by commentator Tucker Carlson, “the forced reallocation of farmland” (à la Zimbabwe).

Tellingly, some of these toxic positions were featured on BLM’s website — until the group gained greater institutional acceptance and removed its older “Guiding Principles” page so it could masquerade as palatable. (The original page can still be found via an archiving service here.)

Yet many American schools are now taking a leaf from BLM’s book. As for Brearly, Gutmann says that the school “made it sound like they’re going to integrate this racial curriculum, this anti-racism curriculum, into everything — every class, into math, into gym, P.E.; it was shocking that they were taking that degree of integrating it into everything.”

Note that this is a hallmark of “ideological nations,” where the official state ideology is “pervasive,” to use a word Gutmann did when describing BLM racialism’s dominance at Brearly.

The father also mentioned that the Left’s new “Silence is violence” mentality reigns at the school. If “you just stay silent, you’re racist,” he lamented. “You have to be an activist for that. If you’re not an activist for an anti-racism initiative, for Black Lives Matter, for example, you are racist, you are a bad person, you are an oppressor, you are not doing the right thing.”

One of the most striking things about the Critical Race Theory phenomenon is how unintellectual its embrace is. It basically originated last Tuesday (figuratively speaking), but “educators” coast to coast behave as if it’s enlightening, timeless brilliance from on high.

It’s a fad, and its popularity reflects a deeper problem: The prevalence of “changeist,” immature moderns who treasure the spirit of the age over the ageless, who prefer “Thursday over Wednesday because it is Thursday,” as G.K. Chesterton put it. Detached from and not believing in Truth, they’ll embrace a lie as long as it’s the latest thing on the cocktail-party circuit.

Today’s anti-American racialist lie is a destructive one, too. Author George Orwell once noted that the “most effective way to destroy people is to deny and obliterate their own understanding of their history.” This is now a fait accompli in America.

When I worked with kids, I once asked a small group of them who the “Father of America” was. Their answer wasn’t George Washington — it was Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. These were upper-class white children, too.

Then there was the 14-year-old I was instructing in religious education who, I discovered, hadn’t heard of Adolf Hitler. Both these incidents occurred 15 to 20 years ago, too, do note.

Now, question: If you don’t know much about American history’s arguably most important figure or are ignorant of the 20th-century’s most notorious one, what of historical importance do you know?

Studies indicate that American youth don’t know much. This matters because, harking back to my opening lines, history is essentially a record of a series of man’s social experiments. And it’s as with a scientist: He remains mindful of his field’s record of experiments so that he can say, “Oh, we tried that before and it didn’t work” or “Yes, that bore fruit; we should now build upon it.”

Of course, though, if children know nothing of history, you can easily feed them a revisionist version of it and make them think that good was bad and bad, good. And now you know part of the reason why a 2020 poll found that “70 percent of Millennials say they are likely to vote for a socialist while one in three view communism favorably,” as Campus Reform reported last year.  

Moreover, “22 percent of millennials believe ‘society would be better if all private property was abolished,’” the site also related.

And this is what happens when good history and virtue are abolished. But what needs to be abolished is any curriculum reflecting so-called “leftism” and any educator advocating it. Unless there’s a patriotic march through the institutions that tramples Gramsci’s ghost, what remains of the American spirit will be relegated to the grave.   

Border In Chaos: 17 Texas Counties Declare Emergencies, Border Patrol Dismantles Multiple Human Smuggling Operations

Earlier this week, PJ Media was the first to report that 12 Texas counties have declared emergencies due to the chaos the Biden border policies are causing. Since then, we have learned that four more counties have declared emergencies, bringing the total to 17. The additional counties that have or are set to declare emergencies are Davis, Medina, Terrell, Val Verde, and Live Oak. The land area these counties cover includes regions well away from the border and is larger than many whole states.

The Border Patrol continues doing what it can, with no policy help from Washington, to stem the tide of human trafficking that has exploded across the border. In a Facebook post, the Laredo Sector of the Border Patrol reports that it busted three human smuggling sites in half a day.

Yesterday, within a span of 12 hours, #USBP Laredo Sector agents working with Laredo Police Department, Webb-County Constable Pct 2, and federal law enforcement partners, discovered and dismantled three residential properties throughout Laredo that were being utilized as human smuggling stash houses. The discovery led to the arrest of over 180 undocumented individuals who were found in deplorable conditions. These apprehensions were a result of a collaborative effort between Border Patrol and our partners who work diligently to stop the housing of large numbers of undocumented individuals in our communities.

The stash houses were discovered in the south, central, and north Laredo. This shows that all areas of the city are being affected by these transnational criminal organizations.

One residence was discovered in north Laredo near a church and the Laredo Country Club. Packed inside were 65 undocumented individuals.

A second stash house was located in central Laredo near a school. A total of 68 undocumented individuals were arrested at that location.

The third stash house was found in southeast Laredo near a city park. After searching the property, 50 undocumented individuals were found throughout the residential property.

Deputy Chief Patrol Agent Carl E. Landrum said, “All of the people rescued from these stash houses were being held against their will. Human Smuggling/Trafficking are dangerous situations. Please help others by reporting suspicious situations you see; you just might save a life.”

Ranchers and residents continue to report bailouts and finding abandoned backpacks full of clothing and other items on their property daily. This photo was taken earlier this week in La Salle county by rancher Stephanie Crisp-Canales, who was interviewed on this week’s C’Mon Now! show.

These clothes are not typical of what one would wear for an arduous walk across an entire country. They are typical of what Texans are seeing abandoned on their property.

At the same time, the Washington Examiner reports that the Biden administration is holding more than five times the number of unaccompanied children the Trump administration held when it was accused of having a “humanitarian crisis” with “concentration camps” on the border.

Nearly 25,000 migrant children were in the custody of the government, apart from their families, in early May.

The number of unaccompanied migrant children in the federal government’s care is at an all-time high, easily eclipsing the corresponding total in 2018 when the Trump administration pursued a policy that led to the intentional separation of children from their families, eliciting major controversy.

The situation underscores the severity of the crisis facing President Joe Biden early in his administration and the moral quandary he faces.

Biden continues blaming the problem on President Trump, despite the incontrovertible fact that Biden publicly ended Trump’s border policies in his first days in office.
