The Qur’an denies that Jesus is the Son of God (19:35) and that he was crucified (4:157). Hence he is not the savior of the world and Christmas is not the day on which “Christ the savior is born.” The idea that Jesus is the Son of God is described in the Qur’an as an insult to Allah’s “transcendent majesty” (4:171). So what Abu Maher says here is not “extremist,” but mainstream Islam. Imagine the embarrassment of European authorities when they finally realize this, and its implications.

“Preacher in Braunschweig: ‘Christmas is an insult to Allah!,'” translated from “Prediger in Braunschweig: „Weihnachten ist eine Beleidigung Allahs!“” by David Berger, Philosophia Perennis, December 19, 2020 (thanks to Medforth):

Last Christmas Eve, the “Deutschsprachige Muslimische Gemeinschaft e.V.” published a video that is still available on YouTube today and is now attracting more and more attention online around Christmas. The message of the video, in which Abu Maher preaches: “Christmas is an insult to Allah!” (Blasphemy).

The “German-speaking Muslim Community” (DMG) is a registered association that describes itself as follows: “As an association in Braunschweig that has existed for many years, we represent Islam according to the understanding of the first three generations after the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and want to convey Islam – based on the Qurân and Sunna (path of the Prophet) and its pure message – to our fellow human beings and society. It is important to us to enable all interested parties to get to know the values and norms that Islam imposes on people …

Laws yes, but …

Under the heading “Important!”, The association says: “As a Muslim community, we represent a part of the local society. We respect the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, but at the same time insist on our basic rights, such as freedom of religion and freedom of expression, and want like every citizen and let every citizen live and live in peace and mutual tolerance. ”

I seriously doubt whether such a video contributes to peace and mutual tolerance …
