Fordham student says school wrongfully penalized him for social media posts

In June, a Chinese-American student at Fordham University, Austin Tong, posted a photo of retired St. Louis police officer David Dorn, who was killed after defending a friend’s store from looters. The photo was accompanied by a note citing the “nonchalant social reaction” to Dorn’s murder. In addition, Tong posted another photo of himself holding a Smith & Wesson rifle pointed toward the ground with the photo captioned “Don’t tread on me #198964,” in reference to the Tiananmen Square massacre on June 4, 1989. That photo included emojis of the American and Chinese flags.

Tong had also posted statements including, “freedom comes from a strong and armed populace” and “Violence against any citizen should not be tolerated, and The Second Amendment protects us from that.”

The photos triggered the university to put Tong on probation.

Now the Trump administration’s Department of Education has launched an investigation into Fordham University. One department official told Campus Reform, “Of course, this raises questions about the influence of the Chinese government on American colleges and universities.”

The Department of Education sent a letter to Fordham University, which stated in part:

On the night of June 4, 2020, allegedly due to “multiple student complaints related to [Mr. Tong’s] social media posts,” including the claim that his posts were “grotesque” and “racist,” Fordham dispatched two uniformed public safety officers to visit Mr. Tong at his parent’s home in Long Island, New York. … Mr. Tong allegedly told the officers he purchased the rifle so his family would have protection from the threat posed by ongoing riots and social disorder in New York City …

Fordham deemed Mr. Tong’s constitutionally protected speech “a security threat” (emphasis added). Fordham apparently was concerned because “in referring to Black Lives Matter protests, [Mr. Tong] stated that he was ‘aware of the chaotic situation that needs me to keep (sic) family safe.’”

On July 24, the Dean of Students informed Tong that he was on probation because his social media posts violated university policy. He would need permission from the dean of students to enter the campus; he would need to undergo “bias training,” and he would need to compose an apology.

The university informed Tong he would have to complete his courses online. The university added that the sanctions were non-appealable.

Those actions prompted Tong to sue the school, claiming his First Amendment rights had been violated.

In its letter, the Department of Education noted:

In its Demonstration Policy, Fordham promises prospective students, their parents, and other potential consumers in the market for education certificates ‘[e]ach member of the University has a right to freely express their positions and to work for their acceptance whether they assent to or dissent from existing situations in the University or society. Fordham further promises not to infringe on students’ right “to express [their] positions” and engage in “other legitimate activities.”

However, Fordham fails to warn prospective students, their parents, and other potential consumers in the market for education certificates of their liability to potential discipline for the lawful off-campus expression of thoughts and constitutionally protected conduct that happens to be disfavored by Fordham’s education bureaucrats.

A video from outside of last night’s DNC Convention in Milwaukee shows two Joe Biden supporters stealing a MAGA hat from a 7-year-old boy before physically attacking his mother.

The mother Abbey and her son Riley were waiting for a table at a restaurant across the road from the Wisconsin Center when they were approached by two female Biden supporters.

The clip shows the two women tearing up signs belonging to Abbey as they admit they are destroying her property but “don’t give a fuck.”

One of the women then steals a red MAGA hat from the 7-year-old boy before throwing it to her friend.

The boy then comes running up to the other women telling her, “That’s somebody else’s hat!” before she swipes it away from him again.

The boy begins to cry as one of the Biden supporters responds, “We don’t give a fuck, your mom likes Trump.”

The boy then tries to retrieve the hat as one of the women aims a kick which almost hits him.

The mother’s male partner or friend then tries to get the hat back, but the Biden supporter tries to punch him in the face.

The Biden supporter then throws the hat over a fence as the confrontation ends with a deluge of expletives as one of them Biden supporters screams “we will knock you the fuck out!” as the other once again tries to physically attack the mother.

The mother has filed an assault report with the Wilmington Delaware Police.

Some conservative pundits and strategists have opined that it may not be prudent for President Trump and the Republicans to make too big a deal about Joe Biden’s cognitive challenges. If pro-Trump opposition goes all in on terms like dementia, senility, or, as President Trump defines Biden’s mental condition, “not all there,” they risk setting the expectation bar so low that all Biden has to do is stay afloat during the presidential debates and at whatever politically organic (not wholly-orchestrated) campaign appearances he might make.

The case was made that if Trump and his surrogates condition voters to expect a doddering, rambling, and often incoherent candidate, Biden can beat the expectation game by simply mouthing pre-approved answers to most conceivable questions and sticking to the script.

On the eve of his acceptance speech at the Democratic convention, it is generally understood on both sides of the aisle that the “Biden’s okay, he’s just being Joe” narrative is kaput. Everybody knows that, sadly, the former VP is not quite hitting on all cylinders. What we have here is a rickety old Trojan Horse the left hopes to wheel back through the gates of governance.

What to do with that?

Biden was not even able to successfully get through wife Jill’s remarks on night two of the convention. What should have been a poignant moment for the Dem ticket served only as another reminder about Mr. Biden’s seeming inability to deliver off-the-cuff the most patent campaign fluff.

Let’s look at some narrative themes that define the 2020 election. Attuned conservatives fully understand the Democrat “chaos campaign,” and the Biden campaign’s “basement strategy.” On the opposite end of the spectrum, the Republican “Biden as a cognitive shell of his former self” narrative has been anything but subtle. Sean Hannity has a Biden gaffe/impairment reel that provokes both laughter and the pull-back reserve that comes with knowing a person is cognitively impaired.

Laughing at cognitive decline is uncomfortable. Even pointing out such decline in the context of unrelenting partisan politics is something nobody really wants to have to do. One wishes the opposition candidate was still in possession of all mental faculties. Under normal circumstances, policy differences could be vigorously debated, and contrasts made, without having to resort to highlighting the fact that the other party’s standard-bearer is certifiably suffering from loss of synaptic function.

And for that reason, would be a disaster if elected to the highest office in the land.

Nobody wants to have to witheringly attack a person in the throes of illnesses like Alzheimer’s disease. Millions of Americans have loved ones or know people who suffer from impaired cognition and memory loss. Just like such diseases present symptoms ranging from mild disruption to complete loss of brain function, the emotional reaction to such diagnoses in people close to those afflicted, depending on the severity of the illness, runs the gamut from manageable grief to life-altering crisis.

Conservatives recall with sadness President Ronald Reagan’s descent in to full-blown Alzheimer’s, and first lady Nancy’s heroic last stand in support of her husband. Reagan was long out of office before experiencing the debilitating phase of the disease.

But if he wins, Joe Biden won’t be.

All the more reason, however disagreeable the task, to focus attention on Biden’s cognitive challenges, and the apparent impairment in his ability to maintain smooth transitions of thought and render them in complete sentences. We’re talking here about diminishment evident even to staunch Dem operatives like James Carville and Terry McAuliffe.

Democrats hope to obfuscate and divert from the issue of their candidate’s mental condition; Republicans and the Trump campaign must continue raising questions about the cognition of the man to whom the national electorate might hand the keys to the kingdom.

Which brings us to this election year’s other big narrative: Biden as Trojan Horse for a swarm of America-haters. A timeworn, once-was “moderate” on the precipice of collapse, being pushed onstage by forces whose aim is to change the nation forever.

On this point, it bears mentioning that even if Joe Biden was not in cognitive decline, even if he was still as sharp a tack as he ever was, he would remain a menacing electoral threat to the American way of life.

Biden’s mental state won’t matter once the DNC, the ingrate Squad, Pelosi, Schumer, Feinstein, Schiff, the detestable Maxine Waters, and the rest of the extremist Democrats get their hands on the levers of power. Even at the peak of his powers, Old Joe could not stave off what these people have in store for America. The fact, incontrovertible now, that Biden is beset by cognitive decline, only makes it easier for them if they can get this rickety warhorse over the finish line. Once wheeled back into the internals of governance, he will become a functionary figure whose presidency sets the stage for an army of Marxist transformers.

And don’t think for a minute that Senator Chameleon Harris will suddenly get in touch with her inner moderate once she’s one tremulous heartbeat away from the presidency. She will reach full flower as the Democratic Socialist enabler-in-chief.

There’s a big difference between a propensity for committing gaffes and neurological impairment.

The former occurs when a person ostensibly in full possession of mental acuity makes mistakes, says wrong things, or tellingly misspeaks, like when Biden said “Poor kids are just as smart as white kids.” Such gaffe-making can be amusing.

The latter is a sad thing to behold, nothing to laugh about. But in order to derail this unprecedentedly awful Democratic ticket, Trump and the Republicans will have to highlight both.

Pastor John MacArthur’s Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California, isn’t the only mega-church defying Governor Gavin Newsom’s COVID-inspired edicts and mandates against worship services being held indoors.

Following Newsom’s edict on July 13 moving most of the state back to Phase 1 — a complete ban on businesses and churches from operating indoors — Greg Fairrington, pastor of Destiny Church in Rocklin, video-taped his response. He said, “We will not be shutting down our church.… I believe my mandate as pastor is to obey the word of God, and worship is a part of what we do together as a church corporately, and we need to do this. It’s important that we do this.”

He added, “We are not going to allow the government to use data that is not supported factually to shut [our] church down. Do not let the fear the media is driving, do not let the fear that is out there, affect us as a church.”

Tim Thompson, the founder and current pastor of 412 Church Murrieta in Riverside County, opened his church for in-person services before Newsom’s July 13 announcement and has stayed open ever since. Thompson told the Western Journal: “Why is anyone allowing a government leader … why are we allowing the government to tell the church what to do, ever? That is what men and women fought and died for during the Revolutionary War: that we wouldn’t have the church being mandated by the state on how we worship God, where we worship God … what time, what manner.”

Thousands took to the beaches to circumvent Newsom’s orders. “Let Us Worship” events from Redding to San Diego drew believers to the beaches and other public places to worship.

Other churches filed suit against Newsom, including Harvest Rock Church and more than 160 other churches. The suit was filed four days after Newsom declared a reversion back to Phase 1, claiming that his order violated nearly every right guaranteed in the First Amendment — free exercise of religion, freedom of speech, freedom to assemble — and the 14th Amendment — equal rights for all citizens. It also charged Newsom with discrimination, as he was not enforcing his mandate against protestors but, in fact, was encouraging them.

Meanwhile, Harvest and its affiliated churches continued to hold in-person worship services.

A month after Newsom’s updated decree, the City of Pasadena sent a letter to Harvest Church’s Pastor, Che Ahn:

This letter is to remind you that violations of these Orders are criminal in nature. Each day in violation is a separate violation and carries with it a potential punishment of up to one year in jail and a fine for each violation….

Your compliance with these Orders is not discretionary, it is mandatory. Any violations in the future will subject your Church, owners, administrators, operators, staff, and parishioners to the above-mentioned criminal penalties as well as the potential closure of your Church.

Mat Staver, the founder of Liberty Counsel, which filed the Harvest Rock Church’s lawsuit, said:

The City of Pasadena, like Gov. Gavin Newsom, encourages thousands of people to gather for protests, but now considers in-person worship to be a criminal offense.

These actions of the City of Pasadena and Gov. Newsom are akin to repressive foreign regimes, not America where the First Amendment guarantees freedom of religion.

The First Amendment erects a wall which the state may not breach to close churches and incarcerate pastors and parishioners.

In earlier coverage of the confrontation brewing between Pastor John MacArthur of Grace Community Church and Los Angeles County here, we asked: “Are [the authorities] going to enforce their ruling? If so, how? With police, with guns and badges? Will they seal off the entrance to the church so that no one can enter? Will they arrest Pastor MacArthur?”

Now the question is: Will law enforcement also come into ongoing church services and arrest the worshippers exercising their First Amendment-protected rights?

We’re about to find out.

The Governor of Maine has ordered restaurant staff to wear anti-COVID visors upside down so they resemble dog cones in order to direct breath upwards.

Yes, really.

Governor Janet Mills’ decree states that “front-of-house staff in restaurants who choose to wear face shields must now wear them upside down so that they are attached at the collar instead of the forehead, so that their breath is directed up, not down,” reports Maine Public Radio.

Given that air conditioning units can facilitate the spread of coronavirus, Mills’ order looks like another ridiculous and pointless measure.

“As a symbol of submission, forcing us to obliterate our individuality by wearing masks was not explicit enough,” writes Dave Blount. “So they pushed the envelope even further. No one can miss the significance of making people wear dog cones.”

Last week, the CDC announced that masks with valves, which millions of people around the world have been wearing for months, do “not prevent the person wearing the mask from transmitting COVID-19 to others.”

As we highlighted earlier, Sweden’s top expert on the coronavirus, Anders Tengell, warned that encouraging people to wear face masks is “very dangerous” because it gives a false sense of security but does not effectively stem the spread of the virus.

A Trump-appointed bioethics advisory board issued a report on Tuesday that U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Alex M. Azar II calls a “de facto government ban” on funding research using aborted fetal cells.

The group, officially called the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Human Fetal Tissue Research Ethics Advisory Board, recommended the American government reject funding for 13 of 14 research projects planning to use aborted baby body parts.

The applications, which were sent to the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH), had already been recommended for funding.

However, under President Trump’s new process, scientists funded by the NIH to work on human fetal tissue projects have to go through a second layer of ethics screening before being approved.

LifeNews.com reports, “The board examined 14 research grant proposals based on ‘the scientific justification for the use and quantity of HFT [human fetal tissue] proposed and the use of alternate models’ as well as whether there was adequate informed consent for the mothers donating it, according to the report.”

One study the group rejected was allegedly “too interwoven with the practice of abortion,” and they argued other studies could use miscarried babies instead of aborted ones.

The board noted they wouldn’t have issues with most of the projects if they could find more ethical materials to work with.

In 2018, Trump’s HHS put $20 million into a project searching for ethical alternatives to aborted fetal tissue in scientific research.

Predictably, many on the left have attacked the advisory board and accused it of being biased.

For example, a virologist at the University of Pittsburgh named Carolyn Coyne said, “This is a ban disguised as an ethics committee. So, the ‘ethics’ of research was decided by a largely Christian/Catholic, white panel.”

However, other scientists disagree and understand there are ethical alternatives available for research that do not involve ripping fetuses from the womb.

HHS Secretary Azar will ultimately make the final decision on whether or not to fund each of the 14 proposals.

LA COUNTY SEEKING $20,000 IN FINES AGAINST PASTOR JOHN MACARTHUR, GRACE COMMUNITY CHURCH FOR CONTEMPT OF COURT

(Fox News) — Los Angeles County is moving to hold a prominent megachurch pastor in contempt of court after he hosted three indoor services Sunday — effectively defying a late-night court order that his church must comply with California’s coronavirus restrictions.

The county is claiming that Grace Community Church and Pastor John MacArthur should each face $4,000 in fines — or $1,000 for every act of contempt they’re alleging. The county also seeks an additional $6,000 in fines from both defendants for violations of court orders, bringing the total to $20,000.

“Defendants’ actions this past Sunday likewise constitute four separate violations of the TRO and Court of Appeal Order by each Defendant. Therefore, the Court should sanction each Defendant $1,500 per violation, for a total of $6,000 per Defendant,” the request reads. Both MacArthur and his church are named as defendants.

PANDEMIC PROPHECY: WHAT DR. ANTHONY FAUCI PREDICTED IN JANUARY 2017, & HOW THE PROPHECY WAS FULFILLED

Dr. Scott Atlas has joined the White House Coronavirus Task Force and President Trump’s pick quickly drew fire. CNN anchor Brianna Keilar claimed that Atlas, “clearly wouldn’t know science if it kicked him in the Atlas.” And as Matt Perez of Forbes explained, “Atlas is not an infectious disease expert.”

By contrast, the establishment media has been positively worshipful of Dr. Anthony Fauci, who prefers models to hard data and has been all over the place on the pandemic. It wasn’t a threat, until it was. Masks are of no value, but you need to wear them. A national lockdown is “inconvenient” but also causes “irreparable damage,” and opening up schools is dangerous. None of these claims set forth Fauci’s most controversial pronouncement, which came at a critical moment.

In January of 2017, the outgoing president, vice president Biden, and various cabinet members were unmasking Americans in the plot against General Flynn. The upper reaches of the FBI and DOJ were shifting from Midyear Exam to Crossfire Hurricane, the “insurance policy” should Trump get elected. Congressional Democrats and media allies were already gearing up the Russia probe.

Such were the conditions when, on January 10, 2017, days before Trump’s inauguration, Dr. Anthony Fauci addressed the “Pandemic Preparedness in the Next US Presidential Administration” gathering at Georgetown University. The participants included Obama “Ebola czar” Ronald A. Klain, who said Trump’s “virtual silence” on the Zika outbreak was “not the kind of leadership we need in our next president.” For his part, Fauci announced what the next president would face.

“There is no question that there will be a challenge to the coming administration in the arena of infectious diseases,” Fauci proclaimed. Such an ironclad prophecy might have raised some eyebrows, but the speaker quickly doubled down. “We will definitely get surprised in the next few years,” said Fauci, who had good reason to be sure of himself.

Fauci earned a medical degree but opted for a career in bureaucracy, where one can safely advance in spite of colossal mistakes. As Peter Duesberg explained in Inventing the AIDs Virus, Fauci was wrong about the cause of AIDS and the heterosexual breakout he predicted never took place. Even so, Fauci continued as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, a post he has held since 1984.

Fauci’s bio shows no advanced degrees in molecular biology or biochemistry but the NIAID boss came to support “gain of function” research. According to the National Institutes of Health, this involves “manipulating viruses in the lab to explore their potential for infecting humans, because it creates a risk of starting a pandemic from accidental release.” Prominent scientists have criticized this work, which the Obama administration shut down in 2014.

The NIH ended the moratorium and in 2017 continued gain-of-function research with reviews conducted in secret. Fauci backed this research and supported a shift to a place even more off limits to scrutiny. As Fred Guterl of Newsweek reported in April, “Dr. Fauci Backed Controversial Wuhan Lab with U.S. Dollars for Risky Coronavirus Research.”

Dr. Fauci did not respond to Newsweek’s request for comment, and when asked whether China had been forthcoming about the pandemic, Angelo Codevilla noted, Fauci was deliberately deceptive. Back in 2017, on the other hand, there was “no question” a pandemic was coming, and “we will definitely get surprised.”

A YouTube video of the pronouncement begins with Democrats Stacey Abrams and Charles Schumer appealing for money. When Fauci comes on, his first words are, “there will be a surprise outbreak.” So embattled Americans have good cause to wonder what Fauci knew and when he knew it. To find out, conduct an investigation and get him in front of a committee, under oath.

The people have a right to see all the emails between Fauci, NIAID, NIH and the Wuhan Institute of Virology. The people have a right to know what Fauci is hiding behind that white lab coat, and at 79, the NIAID boss is long overdue for a full colonoscopy. So is another Biden favorite, the CDC’s Dr. Nancy Messonnier, a veteran of the vaunted Epidemic Intelligence Service that failed to prevent the Wuhan virus from arriving in America. Dr. Messonnier won’t answer questions about what China knew and when they knew it.

Dr. Scott Atlas, meanwhile (pictured above), earned his medical degree from the University of Chicago and from 1998 to 2012 served as chief of neuroradiology at Stanford University Medical Center. CNN’s Brianna Keilar claims Atlas doesn’t know science, so Americans might wonder about her qualifications.

According to her bio, Keilar graduated from the University of California in 2001 with bachelors’ degrees in philosophy and mass communication. She has spent her entire career in the media. Matt Perez of Forbes, who claims Atlas is not an expert on infectious diseases, has a BA in journalism, specializes in video games, and “I also managed a YouTube gaming channel under the name strummerdood.”

According to Perez, Atlas “specializes in reading and interpreting imaging like X-rays, CT scans and MRIs.” That means he specializes in the interpretation of medical and scientific data, an ideal qualification to serve on the White House Coronavirus Task Force. Dr. Atlas wants kids back in school, and if embattled parents agree it would be hard to blame them.

Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts signed a bill on August 15, LB 814, which bans what is termed “dismemberment abortion.”

According to the legislation that was introduced by State Senator Suzanne Geist back in January, “dismemberment abortion” is described as “an abortion in which, with the purpose of causing the death of an unborn child, a person purposely dismembers the body of a living unborn child and extracts him or her one piece at a time from the uterus through use of clamps, grasping forceps, tongs, scissors, or similar instruments that, through the convergence of two rigid levers, slice, crush, or grasp a portion of the unborn child’s body to cut or rip it off.”

The bill does not, however, ban other types of abortion, including “suction” abortions which would result in a form of dismemberment.

While the law still allows for the execution of innocent children by other methods, Geist called the legislation a “significant step forward for the pro-life movement.”

The text of the bill reads, “Dismemberment abortion does not include (i) An abortion in which suction is used to dismember the body of an unborn child by sucking fetal parts into a collection container; or (ii) The use of instruments or suction to remove the remains of an unborn child who has already died.”

What’s interesting, however, is that the bill that was signed into law refers to the victim as an “unborn child” rather than “fetus,” — the term pro-choicers use to try to remove personhood from the victim.

AMES, Iowa — An English professor at Iowa State University, who had initially included a “giant warning” in her syllabus that students were not permitted to speak or submit classwork presenting “arguments against gay marriage, abortion, Black Lives Matter, etc.,” has now amended her course description after university officials found her restrictions to be “inconsistent” with the school’s commitment to upholding students’ First Amendment rights.

According to The College Fix, Chloe Clark issued a “giant warning” — written in all capital letters — as a note under the course objective of her English 250 class.

“This class will include many discussions about [presenting arguments] and, thus, participation will be a large factor in the class,” the webpage for the class outlined. “Any instances of othering that you participate in intentionally (racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, sorophobia, transphobia, classism, mocking of mental health issues, body shaming, etc) in class are grounds for dismissal from the classroom.”

It added, “The same goes for any papers/projects: You cannot choose any topic that takes at its base that one side doesn’t deserve the same basic human rights as you do. I take this seriously.”

After the matter made headlines, the university reportedly addressed Clark about the matter as they believe students should have the right to express all viewpoints, as the U.S. Constitution grants freedom of speech.

“The syllabus statement as written was inconsistent with the university’s standards and its commitment to the First Amendment rights of students,” Iowa State officials said in a statement issued to reporters on Monday.

They advised that the syllabus has now been “corrected to ensure it is consistent with university policy” and Clark “is being provided additional information regarding the First Amendment policies of the university.”

“Iowa State is firmly committed to protecting the First Amendment rights of its students, faculty, and staff,” the statement said. “With respect to student expression in the classroom, including the completion of assignments, the university does not take disciplinary action against students based on the content or viewpoints expressed in their speech.”

As previously reported, in 2013, a professor at Florida Atlantic University came under scrutiny after he had Intercultural Communications students write the name “Jesus” in all capital letters on a piece of paper and then stomp on it. The exercise was obtained from an instruction manual and was meant to demonstrate the “emotional meaning” behind various symbols as some students will decline to do so.

“This exercise is a bit sensitive, but really drives home the point that even though symbols are arbitrary, they take on very strong and emotional meanings,” the manual stated. “Have the students write the name JESUS in big letters on a piece of paper. Ask the students to stand up and put the paper on the floor in front of them with the name facing up. Ask the students to think about it for a moment.”

“After a brief period of silence, instruct them to step on the paper,” it continued. “Most will hesitate. Ask why they can’t step on the paper. Discuss the importance of symbols in culture.”

The professor, Deandre Poole, the vice-chairman of the Palm Beach Democratic Party, was put on leave for a time due to security reasons and later reinstated. It was vowed that the exercise would never be performed again.

Company absurdly argues supporting Black Lives Matter isn’t political.

Goodyear is facing calls for a boycott after a slide outlining the company’s “zero-tolerance policy” said Black Lives Matter and LGBT attire was acceptable but that MAGA attire and ‘All Lives Matter’ slogans were not.

The slide was presented during a “diversity training” session at the Topeka plant by an area manager and came straight from Goodyear’s corporate office in Akron, Ohio before being leaked on social media.

The slide is headlined “zero tolerance” and makes clear which opinions are allowed and which aren’t.

Under acceptable: Black Lives Matter (BLM), Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Pride.

Listed as unacceptable: Blue Lives Matter, All Lives Matter, MAGA Attire, Political Affiliated Slogans or Material.

After the slide was revealed, Goodyear issued the following statement:

“Goodyear is committed to fostering an inclusive and respectful workplace where all of our associates can do their best in a spirit of teamwork. As part of this commitment, we do allow our associates to express their support on racial injustice and other equity issues but ask that they refrain from workplace expressions, verbal or otherwise, in support of political campaigning for any candidate or political party as well as other similar forms of advocacy that fall outside the scope of equity issues.”

Goodyear’s statement is patently ludicrous. To suggest that supporting Black Lives Matter isn’t a political statement is absurd.

BLM is a revolutionary Marxist extremist movement responsible for innumerable violent attacks and numerous murders of police officers.

It’s an organization that has repeatedly expressed its agenda to destroy capitalism.

Claiming that support for BLM isn’t political is as stupid as claiming support for the Weather Underground in the 1970’s wasn’t political.

“If someone wants to wear a BLM shirt in here, then cool. I’m not going to get offended about it,” the employee who leaked the slide told Cleveland 19News.

“But at the same time, if someone’s not going to be able to wear something that is politically based, even in the farthest stretch of the imagination, that’s discriminatory. If we’re talking about equality, then it needs to be equality. If not, it’s discrimination.”

Numerous people took to Twitter to call for a boycott of the company, although Goodyear is just as likely to get a boost in revenue from the free ‘woke’ advertising the controversy will generate.

Right-wing activist and perpetually banned Internet personality Laura Loomer won the Republican primary in Florida’s 21st Congressional District on Tuesday. Loomer scored 42.5 percent of the vote and handily defeated challengers Christian Acosta (25.2 percent) and Michael Vilardi (12.5 percent).

Loomer will now go on to face incumbent Lois Frankel in a David-versus-Goliath attempt to win the heavily Democrat district. Florida’s 21st district contains Palm Beach, where President Trump maintains his Mar-a-Lago residence.

Trump — who had stopped short of endorsing Loomer — congratulated her on Twitter: “Great going Laura. You have a great chance against a Pelosi puppet!”

Among those who did endorse Loomer was Infowars host Alex Jones, with whom Loomer used to work, and Florida congressman Matt Gaetz, who defended Loomer at a fundraiser earlier this month. “When we find folks who they try to disappear or silence because they choose to speak out, we need to have their back. And that’s why I’m proud to endorse Laura Loomer for Congress,” Gaetz said.

Loomer is well known for being “the most banned woman in the world,” as she has been removed from every major social-media platform for a variety of stunts, reporting, and “hate speech” that have landed her on the Silicon Valley thought police’s most-wanted list.

Among her high-profile adventures:

• During the 2016 general election, Loomer went to a polling station dressed in a burqa and asked for a ballot under the name of Hillary Clinton advisor Huma Abedin.

• In June of 2017, Loomer attended a Chelsea Clinton book-signing in New York and requested that Clinton sign a copy of her book She Persisted — a book about women who changed the world — to Juanita Broaddrick, who has accused Chelsea Clinton’s father, former President Bill Clinton, of rape.

• Later that same June, Loomer interrupted the farcical Shakespeare in the Park presentation of Julius Caesar, where the performer who portrayed Caesar was a Trump doppelgänger. After the character was assassinated, Loomer stormed the stage and shouted, “Stop the normalization of political violence against the right! This is unacceptable!” Loomer was arrested for disorderly conduct and trespassing.

• In 2019, Loomer jumped the fence to Nancy Pelosi’s California estate and set up a “caravan sanctuary” tent on the speaker of the House’s property. She did so in order to protest Pelosi’s opposition to President Trump’s border wall.

Loomer is a Jewish woman, and a strong defender of the State of Israel and President Trump. She has worked for Project Veritas, Infowars, and Rebel Media. She proudly calls herself a nationalist and believes that unchecked immigration is a serious threat to the American way of life.

Is it any wonder that the leftists in Silicon Valley and the mainstream media don’t like her?

Once she was banned from pretty much every platform, Loomer decided that the only way to change the system that banned her was from within the halls of Congress.

“This is just one of the battles we will have to win, because we are in a war!” Loomer told supporters. “We can’t let them change America; we can’t let them stifle free speech, or there is no United States of America, no American exceptionalism.”

Loomer touted her position as a political outsider, akin to President Trump. “I do not work for the GOP leadership, the establishment or Washington elitists.... I am not bought and paid for!” she said. “I am not one of them. I am one of you!”

She has strong words for her Democrat opponent: “My opponent would rather your business be shut down than for you to be able to feed your family,” Loomer said. “Frankel is a creature of the swamp who has lost sight of her constituents’ needs and priorities.”

“I believe in the Bill of Rights and will fight for it every day,” Loomer said, then told the crowd, “Thank you for nominating me to represent the Republican Party in November. And by the grace of God, and with your help, I’m going to win!”

Loomer has a long hill to climb to win an overwhelmingly Democrat congressional district. Even so, such journeys begin with small steps. The firebrand conservative took a big step yesterday.

The owners of Atilis Gym in Bellmawr, New Jersey, are expecting to be arrested before this day is out. They are also expecting the state to move barriers in front of their gym to keep them and their customers out.

Back in May New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy decided to make the owners an example for anyone else daring to defy his stay-at-home edicts.

When Murphy learned of the intransigence of the two owners, Frank Trumbetti and Ian Smith, he said, “I’m not concerned [that the situation in Bellmawr] will spiral out of control. If it does, we will take action.” And then, addressing the violators directly, he added: “If you show up at that gym tomorrow [May 25] … we will … enforce this.”

Murphy should have quit while he was ahead. He didn’t know whom he was targeting. Smith said, “We’re opening up tomorrow morning, no matter what.”

When sheriffs boarded up the gym the owners kicked the boards aside, posting the event on Instagram along with this directed to Murphy: “You will not trample on our rights.… We will not back down. Ever.”

The town council got into the act and voted last week to rescind their business license. Smith took them on as well: “The Borough of Bellmawr is now an adversary, and they will be dealt with.… They will be served papers.… [They] are going to have to answer for what they’ve done.”And the owners opened without the license.

Smith was a guest on New Jersey 101.5 talk show yesterday, and he took on the governor:

It’s just Murphy showing that he will go to no end to enforce his will, even though he still, to date, has had no evidence to support that Atilis Gym Bellmawr or any other gym or any other small business that he still has shut down, is of any danger to the public.

The host relayed a message from the state’s attorney general to Smith:

Gym owners — like everyone else — must do their part and follow the law. As we’ve said before, we’re in the middle of a global pandemic, yet these defendants have defied multiple court orders designed to protect the public.

We hope that today’s order puts an end to this dispute.

Not a chance, said Smith:

Stop blaming me for the mistakes that your public health agency and Governor Murphy made in the nursing homes. Because if it wasn’t for that, [the state’s] numbers wouldn’t be where they’re at, and he would have the argument he has, and he still doesn’t have a good argument.

When the host asked Smith just how far they were willing to go, Smith said:

We’re gonna take this all the way to the Supreme Court and whatever comes along with that. If he wants to lock us up and he wants to continue to throw these fines at us [presently $130,000 and climbing by $15,000 a day] … I mean he’s openly admitted that these fines are so high because he’s looking to cripple our ability to defend ourselves.

Later that day Smith challenged Murphy on Instagram:

Charge us with over 36 criminal offenses, fine us, lock us out of our business, arrest us, arrest our customers, barricade our doors closed, strip our license, and do everything you can to ruin our lives.

156 days into the 14 days you asked for, Governor Murphy, and you’ve done all these things. But the one thing you – as an elected official – that you didn’t do, was to come and speak to us.

You only seek to punish. A true leader listens to the people. We will be here, exercising the same constitutional rights you trample on.

We will stand our ground. This is not a game. These are our lives.

As this article is being published, the owners are still waiting to be arrested, again, and for the state to install the barricades to keep them and their customers out. It’s clear that they will do whatever it takes to get a court to rule on Murphy’s unconstitutional edicts, hoping it moves to the Supreme Court. Trumbetti and Smith are prepared to take it all the way.

The effects of coronavirus mandates on small businesses, and especially restaurants, have been catastrophic. New York, outside of New York City, went into “Phase 3” in July, and restaurants were able to open back up under severe restrictions, including reduced capacity. Very few of them are doing well under this arrangement. ABC reported that more than 16,000 restaurants have closed permanently.

One diner in Seneca County, N.Y., has had enough and took to social media to tell the public what the county is doing to them. The trouble started when a snitch ate a meal at A.J.’s Family Diner and then called the health department to report too many people in the establishment. This prompted the restaurant to post a notice telling people who are uncomfortable and living in fear to stay out of their business. But the harassment had only just begun. The snitch prompted a full-scale inspection by the health department that sent an inspector to rearrange all the tables and threaten a fine of $1000.

The New York State Health Department actually has a form for people to snitch on businesses.

“Well it’s official some good samaritan, I use that term very loosely and sarcastically, decided to come into the diner for a meal and halfway through their meal they decided they were feeling uncomfortable because of the amount of people that were in the diner,” wrote A.J.’s Family Diner on their Facebook page. “So rather than asking the staff to box up their food so they could leave, the complaintant…proceeded to turn us into [sic] the health department.”

The Seneca County Health Department has now taken over their restaurant, says owner Angel Lawrence. To illustrate this, the diner’s management posted signs all over the restaurant to make sure everyone knows whom to blame when customers show up at the newly “approved” space that restricts customers. “Approved Table by New Management NYS & Seneca County. So far we can still work and pay the bills,” reads one sign.

“Apparently, we are incapable of the decision making process. Therefore, New York State and Seneca County are now doing our thinking for us. Per this new management, this table is no longer available,” reads another. “However, we still pay the bills.”

A sign on the door says, “Attention potential customers! Please be advised we are experiencing a takeover of our management by NYS and Seneca County. We are approved for ‘6’ tables. Please seat yourselves at approved tables…the new management is allowing seating at the counter. If you are not coming in together or sleeping together then there must be 3 stools between your party and the next party. We still get to work here and pay the bills.”

A heartfelt post defended the staff and explained why they cannot wear masks in the kitchen, which is presumably a part of the reason the snitch turned them in.

The staff does not appreciate it when people sneakily take their picture. If you want to take their picture just ask them. Like this job isn’t hard enough for them, now you have them all stressed out about what are we going to get turned in for next and when?…Before you decide to be vindictive stop and ask yourself how would you feel? Think about all the problems in your life. Would you still enjoy going to a job like this? They wear masks which they hate, they come to my window and slide the mask down just a little bit just below their nose so they can get a breath and hope nobody sees them. When it’s 97 degrees outside you’re all telling me how hot it is. Let me tell you my husband put a thermometer in here one day just so we could see how hot it was and it was 140 degrees. I thought no way that can’t really be accurate but it was. So if you want to turn Us in for no [masks] in the kitchen, be my guest. That’s where I draw the line okay we already have existing health issues I don’t need people dropping.

The culture of snitching to ruin people’s lives and businesses is despicable and it’s commendable that A.J.’s Family Diner has the guts to call it out. Owner Angel Lawrence told PJ Media, “I know the county is doing their job, but we need the lines of communication to be open.”

“If I had known the rules were going to change so drastically I might not have opened up,” she added. Rules for restaurants are getting more strict even as coronavirus numbers plummet. Seneca County, according to the NYS Health Department, has only had 95 cases and 1 death.

Lawrence says the rules for business owners change so rapidly, no one can keep up and the county meetings are still closed to the public due to COVID-19. “I should be getting information from someplace other than Facebook,” said Lawrence in reference to the county’s poor communication efforts. “It’s a bad thing when anyone can make an anonymous phone call and destroy a business,” she said. “Any enemy you’ve ever made can make your life a living hell.”

Lawrence has agreed to a few changes that are going to cost her more money in order to have two more tables added to the approved six. “I can have two more tables if I install plexiglass, but if you want to tell me how to run my business, then you should pay my bills,” she said.

PJ Media reached out to the Seneca County Health Department to ask if they plan on subsidizing the changes they are requiring Lawrence to make. They did not respond.

Lawrence says she’s setting up a meeting for business owners, town supervisors, and local representatives to hash out the inconsistencies. “If it reaches more than 50 people, I guess we’ll call it a protest,” she said.

CLEVELAND, Ohio — In an article recently published by USA Today, three professors at Case Western Reserve University — two of whom are doctors — call for COVID vaccinations to be mandatory, with no allowance for religious objections. They also suggest that “disincentives” be imposed to ensure compliance, from the revocation of certain government benefits, to denial of service from private businesses and the inability to ride public transportation.

“[W]hile the measures that will be necessary to defeat the coronavirus will seem draconian, even anti-American to some, we believe that there is no alternative. Simply put, getting vaccinated is going to be our patriotic duty,” write Dr. Michael Lederman, Maxwell J. Mehlman and Dr. Stuart Youngner in a piece entitled “Defeat COVID-19 by requiring vaccination for all. It’s not un-American, it’s patriotic.”

Lederman is an infectious disease specialist and professor of medicine at the school; Mehlman is a law professor and director of Case’s Law-Medicine Center; and Youngner is professor of bioethics and pyschiatry, with a focus on the issues of death, organ transplant ethics and end-of-life decision-making.

The men assert that when a vaccine is created and widely circulated, it will result in “herd immunity,” reducing the risk of infection for the public at large.

They state that the other option for herd immunity, waiting for enough people to become infected and then develop antibodies, is too dangerous of a concept. The professors point to the mortality rate in Sweden as an example, which has a higher deaths per capita rate than its neighbors.

Lederman, Mehlman and Youngner opine that to decline vaccination is to consequently put others’ lives at risk. They propose that vaccinations be free and easily accessible and that the only exemption be an adverse medical reaction to the injection.

“Do not honor religious objections. The major religions do not officially oppose vaccinations,” the article states. “Do not allow objections for personal preference [either], which violate the social contract.”

The men also put forward various “disincentives” that could be utilized as punishment for those who decline to receive a COVID vaccine, from being denied employment or service at a place of business for not being vaccinated to being unable to board public transportation.

“Vaccine refusers could lose tax credits or be denied nonessential government benefits. Health insurers could levy higher premiums for those who by refusing immunization place themselves and others at risk, as is the case for smokers,” they write.

“Private businesses could refuse to employ or serve unvaccinated individuals,” the professors further propose. “Schools could refuse to allow unimmunized children to attend classes. Public and commercial transit companies — airlines, trains and buses — could exclude refusers. Public and private auditoriums could require evidence of immunization for entry.”

They recommend that an immunization registry be put in place, though it is not clear whether such would be done by a healthcare network or the government, and that those vaccinated receive “expiration date-stamped certification cards.”

“These measures might seem draconian and would be costly, but ensuring universal vaccination is a negligible sacrifice compared with the costs, deaths and social upheaval that a sustained pandemic is having on our country,” Lederman, Mehlman and Youngner assert.

They point to the draft during World Wars I and II, noting that none were able to opt out and were rather subject for penalties for refusing to comply.

And while those who opposed the use of weapons for religious reasons were assigned to noncombatant roles, the professors simply end their composition with the statement: “There are no such alternatives for vaccination.”
