In a victory for Christians across the country, a judge has ruled in favor of John MacArthur and Grace Community Church allowing them to meet indoors.

According to Jenna Ellis, Donald Trump’s attorney who represented Grace Community Church and MacArthur in court, the church staff has agreed to adhere to and enforce social distancing and mask rules until the full hearing which is scheduled for September 4.

“This is a huge vindication for Pastor John and the Board of Elders at Grace Community Church, who have simply asked for their right to worship the Lord together in church to be acknowledged and protected,” Ellis told the Todd Starnes Show.

“This is why John MacArthur is so deeply loved and respected by his congregation and all over the world. He is a gracious and firm leader, and his stand for church being essential has now been rightly validated,” she continued. “We look forward to continuing to advocate on his behalf in asking the Court to continue to protect the fundamental rights of churches.”

KAMALA HARRIS’ BIG FAT LIE ABOUT THE TRUMP ECONOMY

Democrats know that President Trump’s economic record, more than anything else, is what will help him get reelected. And if you watched Kamala Harris’ first speech as Joe Biden’s running mate, you saw the false narrative they plan to push for the remainder of the campaign.

“The president’s mismanagement of the pandemic has plunged us into the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression,” Kamala claimed. “[Trump] inherited the longest economic expansion in history from Barack Obama and Joe Biden. Then, like everything else he inherited, he ran it straight into the ground.”

Kamala Harris knows this is utter nonsense. The economic crisis we’re experiencing right now is because of the lockdowns, for which there was overwhelming bipartisan support. It’s also been quite clear that it’s the Democrats, who have wanted to keep the economy shut down as long as possible. Based on this line of attack, it’s obvious why. They don’t blame China, which was responsible for the virus in the first place and for covering up the disease for weeks before alerting the World Health Organization.

Nope, for Biden and Harris, it’s more politically expedient to blame Trump for the economic contraction that resulted from the lockdowns that they supported and currently want to prolong.

As Kyle Smith at National Review noted, the United States also wasn’t even the hardest hit economically of countries and regions that also locked down. “Donald Trump is not the president of the euro zone, which suffered through an even more dire economic contraction in the second quarter: minus 40.3 percent, on an annualized basis, as against minus 32.9 percent in the US,” he wrote. “The U.K. suffered a contraction of 59.8 percent, also on an annualized basis. Donald Trump is not the prime minister of the United Kingdom. The U.S. economy did slightly better than Germany’s in the second quarter.”

Now let’s address the second part of Kamala’s whopper, that the great economy we experienced prior to the pandemic lockdowns was thanks to Obama and Biden.

There have been eleven recessions since World War II, each of which was followed by a recovery. We did experience an economic recovery after the 2009 recession under Obama—it just happens it was the worst one. Here are the facts: All jobs lost in post-World War II recessions were recovered after an average of twenty-five months. But it took seventy-seven months for employment to return to pre-recession levels in 2009, making Obama’s recovery the slowest of all of them, and by a wide margin. Obama is also the only president in U.S. history to have never had a single year of 3.0 percent or greater GDP growth.

Economic growth during Obama’s presidency was so bad that mediocre economic growth was considered the new normal. In September 2016, CBS News reported that “with U.S. economic growth stuck in low gear for several years, it’s leading many economists to worry that the country has entered a prolonged period where any expansion will be weaker than it has been in the past.”

And then Trump was elected, and everything changed. The economy started to take off. The anemic growth of the Obama years was replaced by strong economic growth that benefited the middle class, minorities, and women in ways that just didn’t happen during the Obama years. For example, under Trump, African-American unemployment reached its lowest record level in history. Investor’s Business Daily noted that there was “no upward trajectory to the economy on anyone’s radar when Trump took office,” but “now that the economy is outperforming everyone’s expectations, Trump’s critics want to pretend that the current boom was already baked in the cake.”

Needless to say it was not.

One key factor in the economic boom under Trump has been deregulation, which, as we know, is a four-letter word to Democrats.

Deregulation has benefited the mining and manufacturing industries, and, as the Wall Street Journal noted last year, per capita incomes “have grown at significantly faster rates under President Trump than they did under Barack Obama in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Nevada, Wisconsin and even Iowa despite retaliatory tariffs on American exports.” Then there’s the inconvenient truth that the Obama economy was far better for the wealthy than it was for average Americans—something 2020 Democrats are trying to suggest is a hallmark of the Trump economy. “The Federal Reserve’s bond purchases and near-zero interest rates for eight years [under Obama] drove up asset values and let corporations borrow cheaply while the Administration’s punishing regulations bred business uncertainty that depressed investment in human and physical capital. Those with financial assets prospered more than middle-class wage earners. The Obama Democrats talked constantly about inequality rather than growth, and the result was less growth and more inequality.”

In short, there was more income inequality under Obama than under Trump.

Despite nearly four years of Democrats claiming that Obama deserved credit for Trump’s economy, Americans aren’t falling for it. A poll released in January found that only 9 percent of voters credited Obama and the Democrats for the economy, while 42 percent credited Trump and the Republicans.

Even the recovery we’re starting to get now is better than the one we had after the 2009 recession under Obama. As Vice President Pence recently pointed out, more jobs have been created in the last three months than were created during the entire Obama-Biden administration:

Facts don’t lie, Democrats do. Trying to blame Trump for the economic impact of the national shutdown that they supported is pretty low. Trying to give credit to Obama and Biden for Trump’s economy after eight years of anemic growth is just pathetic.

MAINE: DEMOCRAT SENATE CANDIDATE SARA GIDEON REPEATEDLY KILLED “RACIST” BILLS TO OUTLAW FEMALE GENITAL MUTILATION

This is where we have been heading for a long time, without anyone noticing, and now we are arriving. Opposition to female genital mutilation is “racist.” So also opposition to jihad violence and terrorism is “racist,” and so New York City dismantled a successful counterterror program. Soon any resistance to Sharia oppression and jihad violence will be utterly stigmatized — as it already is today to a tremendous degree. If this continues, resistance will even be criminalized.

Oh, and the rights of the girls who have to suffer this barbaric procedure? Why, speaking out for them is “bigoted” and “Islamophobic.”

Just imagine the soullessness this would require. Sara Gideon has never manifested any concern for the women and girls who have been condemned to lives of misery because of this practice. All she seems to care about is the naked pursuit of political power, no matter who gets destroyed in the process. This is the Left today.

“Maine Democrat Sara Gideon Killed Bills Outlawing Female Genital Mutilation,” by Yuichiro Kakutani, Washington Free Beacon, August 13, 2020:

Democratic Senate candidate Sara Gideon repeatedly killed bills to outlaw female genital mutilation during her tenure as the speaker of the Maine House of Representatives.

Gideon leveraged her leadership position in the Democrat-controlled legislature to kill two separate bills that would have criminalized the practice of severing the clitoris of infant girls and sewing their vaginas shut. Instead, the Democrat supported a different law that would have funnelled $150,000 to her political allies to educate Mainers about the practice instead of criminalizing it, according to a former state legislator who spearheaded the push to stop the mutilation.

Under Gideon’s leadership, Maine Democrats argued that the bill was racist toward the state’s large immigrant community from Somalia, a country where the practice is “nearly universal” according to the United Nations. The Democrats also argued that the practice rarely takes place in Maine and is already outlawed by existing federal and local laws.

Gideon’s efforts have helped make Maine one of only 12 states that have not banned female genital mutilation. Such a legacy threatens to complicate her cultivated image as a champion of women’s rights, one built on her consistent support for abortion access and the #MeToo movement. The image strategy has paid off, translating into hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations and outside money support from national pro-abortion groups. Gideon did not respond to a request for comment.

F. A. Cole, a survivor of female genital mutilation who testified before the Maine legislature, expressed deep frustration for the bill’s failure. “The Democrats, especially the Speaker of the House Sara Gideon, did everything she could in her power to just kill this bill,” she told the Washington Free Beacon. “I could not understand why.”

Female genital mutilation is an archaic cultural custom practiced in parts of the Middle East and Africa that the United Nations considers a violation of human rights. The procedure, which is done to discourage sex outside of marriage, causes numerous medical problems such as excessive bleeding, infections, difficulty passing urine, and sometimes death. A 2012 Public Health Reports study estimated that more than 500,000 women and girls were at risk for female genital mutilation or its consequences in the United States.

The controversy started in 2017, when Republican state legislator Heather Sirocki introduced a bill that made it a crime for parents to force their child to undergo female genital mutilation. Gideon and other Democrats initially cosponsored the bill, but soon Gideon embraced a different version of the legislation. The new version struck out all penalties for the practice and instead allocated $150,000 from the state coffers to fund educational outreach programs to educate Mainers about female genital mutilation. According to Sirocki, Democrats told her the money would go to the Immigrant Resource Center of Maine, a nonprofit group run by Gideon ally Fatuma Hussein.

“This bill was designed to funnel money to Fatuma Hussein’s Immigrant Resource network so they could educate the Somali community on why, ‘naughty naughty, it’s bad to cut your little girl’s genitals,'” Sirocki said. The nonprofit did not respond to a request for comment.

Gideon and House Democrats ultimately voted against the original version of the 2017 bill, leading to the bill’s failure. To justify their votes, some Democrats argued that existing federal and local laws already prohibited the practice—even though the Maine Prosecutors’ Association testified that they “do not feel confident that they can charge someone with committing Female Genital Mutilation without the passage of this bill.”…
