Italy’s former Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini has been sharply criticized for his “nationalist,” “racist” views, particularly when he warned that Europe risked becoming an “Islamic caliphate” given the flood of illegal migrants from North Africa. One of Salvini’s biggest supporters is Tony Iwobi, Italy’s first and only black senator. Although Iwobi is routinely slammed for his “populist” views, he hIas stated: “Anything I do today, I’m not doing for myself, but for the nation I represent and for the African black race!” He also argues that the League, a party routinely characterized in the establishment media as xenophobic, is not anti-immigration, and states: “We are for legal migration. Anybody who comes through the right channel in the legal way is highly welcomed. We are for refugees, but we are against illegal immigration.”
Italy’s current coalition government has implemented a suicidal immigration policy. It has lost control over the illegal migrants who are swarming in from North Africa. A few days ago, the tiny Italian island of Lampedusa ran out of room to quarantine an influx of Tunisian migrants in small boats. The island is at a loss due to sheer volume of illegal migrants flowing in. Also, several days ago it was reported that an estimated 11,000 migrants arrived in Italy in a single week! Globalists have been claiming that since Western countries are experiencing diminished birthrates, the only option is to open the doors to anyone who wants to enter, regardless of the ideology or health status of the migrant, and regardless also of his or her motives. Italy has seen a surge in migrant arrivals in recent weeks, with as many as 11,000 arriving last week, half of them coming from Tunisia.
The Italian Interior Ministry released a statement this week saying: “Autonomous landings on the Italian coast have more than multiplied in a very short period of time.”
Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio went on to call for aid from the European Union, saying the bloc “must address this issue immediately” and work to redistribute the incoming migrants. Di Maio also noted the health risks due to the potential spread of the Wuhan coronavirus, Le Figaro reports.
Of the 11,000 migrants to arrive in Italy last week, many came by small boat. Around half of them came from Tunisia, most of them Tunisian citizens.
For those who come from Tunisia, the Italian island of Lampedusa, the part of Italy closest to the North African coast, is often their target. On Tuesday night alone, around 300 migrants arrived on the island in 13 small boats….

Governor of Veneto Luca Zaia confirmed the cases this week, saying in comments reported by Il Giornale on Thursday: “There are more than 130, probably 134, positive migrants in the former Serena Barracks.”
The screening was prompted on Tuesday when one of the migrants fell ill and later tested positive for the Chinese virus. Tests were then extended to all the residents of the reception centre.
Just over a month ago, a Pakistani migrant living at the facility tested positive for the virus and was placed in solitary confinement for four days. He had allegedly initially hidden his symptoms by taking ibuprofen.
The new large number of coronavirus cases come as Italy has seen a surge in migrants arriving in the country, primarily from North Africa.
Former Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini slammed the government earlier this week on the risk of a fresh wave of coronavirus inspections that could be sparked by the high number of migrant arrivals.
“Landings have tripled since last year, with illegal immigrants being recovered even near Maltese waters, while Lampedusa is collapsing and hundreds of immigrants flee the reception centres who risk spreading Covid-19,” Salvini said.
The island of Lampedusa in the Mediterranean has been particularly overwhelmed, with arrivals of migrants becoming so frequent that it has been claimed that a new boat containing more migrants arrives every hour on average….
