Students of Bible prophecy are not surprised by events that have been triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic. The Lord Jesus Christ gave us signs that would precede His second coming. One of the many signs that we are seeing today is “pestilence” (Luke 21:11). Pestilence is defined as a “contagion or infectious epidemic that is virulent and devastating.” The Lord Jesus said the signs will arrive like “birth pains”, meaning they will increase in frequency and intensity prior to His return. It is true that we have seen devastating plagues and pestilences throughout history, but none of them have had the far-reaching global impact of Covid-19. Could it be that our sovereign Lord is giving a merciful warning of a more devastating pestilence that awaits those who do not seek Him as their Savior and refuge? During the tribulation, one fourth of the world’s population will perish by pestilence, plagues and the sword (Rev. 6:8). More plagues will follow that will kill one third of the remaining population (Rev. 9:18).
Another one of the prophetic signs is that of a global government that will be ruled by a dictator who will have “authority over every tribe and people and tongue and nation” (Rev. 13:7). He will cause everyone to be given a mark on their right hand or on their forehead, and no one will be able to buy or to sell without the mark (Rev. 13:16-17). This world-wide pandemic has been a catalyst for globalists to centralize and digitize data on a growing segment of the world’s population. The ultimate goal of the globalist agenda is widespread surveillance and control over people’s lives, including our jobs, our religious activities, our medical care, our travel, and our buying and selling. Historically, we have seen that every serious crisis has brought about new opportunities for government control. This coronavirus crisis will eventually pass, but the government will never forget how easy it was to take control of our lives.
The World Health Organization is proposing a cashless society because cash may be spreading the coronavirus. To prevent the spread of the disease, they claim we need to use the latest technology to buy and sell. Health experts are turning to technology to take over the contact tracing of the virus. An invisible quantum dot tattoo implant that will track who has been tested for and vaccinated against Covid-19 is now in the works. Countries like Singapore and China are using cellphone-based tools to identify and monitor people who might have been exposed to someone with Covid-19. Google and Apple have partnered to build a Bluetooth-based tracking system that can automatically log people’s interactions. The push for a global government, coupled with the necessary tools for surveillance technology, will one day enable the Antichrist to introduce his mark that will control a global economy.
Over 180 countries throughout the world have been dealing with the devastating effects of this pandemic. Government enforced lockdowns and stay-at-home orders have produced angry protests, rising unemployment, and economic collapse. The rising death count along with all the fear-mongering and misinformation produced by the liberal media is fanning the flames of hysteria and causing growing confusion and hopelessness. Bill Gates, who is a vocal proponent for population control, has pushed for massive worldwide vaccinations. He recently stated, “Mass public gatherings will not come back ‘at all’ until we have everyone on the planet covered by vaccines.”
The whole world may be primed for an intellectual genius to rise up with all the solutions for a new world order of peace and prosperity. The apostle Paul described him as the man of lawlessness, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship (2 Thes. 2:3-4). He will come in accordance with the activity of Satan, with all power and signs and false wonders (2 Thes. 2:9). Of course, we do not know when he will appear, because his appearance will be according to our Sovereign Lord’s prophetic time clock. When the “beast” does appear, the whole earth will marvel as they follow him (Rev. 13:3).
We have seen how God disciplines His people who go astray and how He judges godless nations with pestilence and famine. The wisest response to God’s judgment has always been repentance, faith and obedience to the one true God and Savior. Christians, who have been called out of darkness into the glorious light of our Savior, are not to be troubled or afraid. Our Lord is with us no matter how hopeless the situation or circumstances appear to be. He sovereignly controls everything in His creation, including Covid-19. We do not know what the future holds, but we do know Who holds the future. “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful” (Heb. 10:23)

Our Lady of the Coronavirus
Pope Francis offered a prayer to the Virgin Mary, entrusting the whole world to her protection in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. Following is part of his prayer, “O Mary, you shine continuously on our journey as a sign of salvation and hope. We entrust ourselves to you, Salvation of the Roman People, you know what we need. We are certain that you will provide. Help us, Mother of Divine Love, we seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our pleas, deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin.” Read more.
In light of the pandemic, a Vatican professor said everything that happens is “for the triumph of the Church” and that “the closer the punishment is, the closer will be the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary that Our Lady has promised us.” The solution to all this suffering is Our Lady of Fatima. The formula for success is Our Lady of Fatima and to do the following: daily mass where possible, three Hail Mary’s, rosary, confession to a priest, consecration of ourselves to Our Lady, wearing the scapular, and the intercession of the saints and guardian angels. Mike’s Comment: Where is God in the Vatican’s messages? In the divinely inspired Scriptures we read, “He (God) alone is my protector and deliverer. He is my refuge; I will not be upended” (Psalm 62:6). I write this not to be offensive, but to warn Catholics that they need to repent and turn to Christ and His Word, not to Mary or the pope. Knowing that this kind of deception would be widespread, Paul warned: “I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ” (2 Cor. 11:3).

Muslim Governor Urges People to Turn to Mary
In the middle of the emergency caused by the novel coronavirus pandemic, a Muslim Saudi governor has called on people to turn to Mary to find strength, courage and a path to overcome the Covid-19 outbreak. He said, If we look at the Virgin Mary and her son, Jesus, in the Qurʼān, “we’ll find one particular story that tells of perseverance” in the quest for “a road map” to “combat struggles and pandemics.”
The Governor noted, “The story of Mariam (Mary), tells the story of every true victor. The moral of her story is clear; it’s through these directives [from God] that success against all struggles and pandemics can be achieved.” He said, only “through Mariam the Virgin, will we find the lessons of survival.” Currently, Saudi Arabia has the highest number of confirmed Covid-19 cases among Arab Gulf nations. Mike’s Comment: Most people know the importance of Mary to Catholics and how they believe she is the cause of their salvation and how the deliverer of their souls from death. But not many know of her prominence among Muslims. She is the most revered woman of the Muslim faith. Her name is mentioned more often (34 times) in the Quran than in the Bible. Muslims are now seeking messages from Apparitions of Mary at Fatima. We can only wonder if these apparitions are some of the lying signs and wonders Satan will use to unite Catholicism with Islam and build his one-world religion. The messages declare that “Mary” is coming for all her children, including Muslims, Catholics and Protestants, and that people of all religions can be saved apart from Jesus as long as they are good.
