UK GOVERNMENT TO CRACK DOWN ON HOMESCHOOLING TO FIGHT “EXTREMISM”

The UK’s targeting of homeschooling is about promoting the British government’s vision of “multiculturalism,” “tolerance,” “diversity” and the hijrah. It has nothing to do with fighting against the inculcation of the jihad ideology or the teaching of the aspects of sharia that contradict Western principles, although that was the impetus for the crackdown.

Requirements that educators promote “British values” defined as “tolerance and respect for others”, and “prepare children for life in modern Britain” have caused some contention, with critics warning that the latter category is being used to penalise schools in rural areas which have been insufficiently ‘enriched’ with ethnic minority pupils.

If Britain was genuinely concerned about the spread of “extremism,” it would crack down instead on madrassas and conduct surveillance on mosques. Instead, it is trampling the rights of Britons who are concerned about state indoctrination of their children with the “new” British value system, which is an odd combination of far-left and sharia values.

Britain already has over 85 sharia courts, and TheCityUK — which represents Britain’s banks and financial institutions — has already been urging the government to legally prioritize Islamic banking ahead of Brexit. The UK also intends to keep up the massive Muslim migrant influx post-Brexit.

Last year, a Jewish school was targeted for failing to adhere to the new British values:

A private Jewish school teaching girls up to the age of eight failed its third inspection for denying pupils “a full understanding of fundamental British values” by failing to teach about homosexuality and gender reassignment.

The UK will continue to trample upon the rights of its citizens as it cracks down on free speech and targets the right of Christian and Jewish parents to teach their children about personal values and freedoms — but it will continue to allow the increasing influence of the sharia.

Tens of Christian schools have been downgraded as a result of the new rules…Education Secretary Nicky Morgan…claimed such schools deny children “the opportunity to flourish in a modern multicultural Britain”.

The government is set to crack down on homeschooling amidst concerns that some out-of-school education settings are failing to promote its liberal definition of “British values”.

Parents who want to homeschool their children could be forced to register with local authorities and be made subject to inspection, according to a government report published Tuesday raising the prospect of prosecution for families which failed to comply.

Seeking views over the next 12 weeks with regards to strengthening regulation around homeschooling, the consultation was launched as part of the government’s “Counter-Extremism strategy to enable intervention in out of school settings”.

Under the proposed regulatory system, any family taking their child out of mainstream schooling in the UK would have to explain their decision and demonstrate that children were being given an appropriate education at home.

The government’s move to crack down on homeschooling comes after schools watchdog Ofsted described the fact that local authorities have no right to investigate whether children are being home-educated as a “loophole” which is exploited by Islamic extremists….

Along with issues such as unsafe premises and inappropriate forms of punishment, the report raised concern over the prospect that children would receive “inadequate preparation … for life in modern Britain” in out-of-school education settings.

Anti-abortion walkouts took place across the country Wednesday, with many college and high school students protesting Planned Parenthood and the murder of innocent children in the womb.

Photos provided by the Students for Life organization show hundreds of pro-life students from over 350 schools in California, Minnesota, New Mexico and other states participated in the demonstration.

Students largely organized the anti-abortion protests after California teacher Julianne Benzel was punished for asking her students to consider whether walkouts would be allowed for issues other than liberal causes.

Rocklin High School student Brandon Gillespie suggested holding a walkout to protest abortion and to highlight the double standard.

Despite the student receiving backlash from administrators and editors of the school paper, he successfully managed to organize a nationwide campaign to, in his words, “honor all the lives of aborted babies pretty much. All the millions of aborted babies every year.”

As noted at Life News, mainstream media coverage of the protests was minimal in contrast with the anti-gun student march held last month.

Some students also claimed they were suppressed by school principals who tried to talk them out of holding walkouts.

“My principal has proposed a compromise, he wants me to meet with the FCA and do a ‘meet at the pole’ at 8:30 so that ‘we don’t disrupt instruction,’” one student told Students for Life. “He also told me it doesn’t need to go to the media (I’ve already made a press release and sent it to local press.”

The Sacramento Bee reports students at Gillespie’s high school were not disciplined for holding the walkout.

A few days ago President Trump declared April National Child Abuse Prevention Month, and as he did so he included one group of children who are often overlooked among the abused: pre-born babies.

“Every child is a precious and unique gift who deserves the security of a loving and nurturing home,” the president stated in his official declaration. “When supported by encouraging families and safe, strong communities, all children have the chance to reach their full potential and access the unlimited opportunities that our great nation has to offer. To realize this truth, we must dedicate ourselves to the noble cause of protecting and caring for our children.”

Trump emphasized the importance of remembering “that all children are blessings from our Creator. They are endowed from conception with value, purpose, and human dignity. They are a source of unmatched joy, and they represent our nation’s future. It is thus our civic and moral responsibility to help every child experience a childhood free from abuse and mistreatment, guiding them toward a future full of hope and promise.”

National Child Abuse Prevention Month, said the president, “is an annual reminder that not every home is a haven of acceptance and unconditional love. Too often, childhood is marred with pain, violence, neglect, and abuse, which can have lifelong psychological, emotional, and physical consequences. At no fault of their own, some children are subjected to the most depraved forms of child abuse and neglect, without reprieve and, sometimes, without any knowledge that they are being maltreated.”

While past presidents have made similar proclamations on behalf of abused and neglected children, Trump is one of the few who has emphasized that children need to be valued and nurtured “from conception.” It is the second time this year that he has done so in an official proclamation. Earlier this year the president proclaimed January 22 as National Sanctity of Human Life Day, calling upon Americans to “focus our attention on the love and protection each person, born and unborn, deserves regardless of disability, gender, appearance, or ethnicity.”

He went on to note that reverence “for every human life, one of the values for which our Founding Fathers fought, defines the character of our nation. Today, it moves us to promote the health of pregnant mothers and their unborn children. It animates our concern for single moms; the elderly, the infirm, and the disabled; and orphan and foster children. It compels us to address the opioid epidemic and to bring aid to those who struggle with mental illness. It gives us the courage to stand up for the weak and the powerless. And it dispels the notion that our worth depends on the extent to which we are planned for or wanted.”

Similarly, in March of this year President Trump addressed the Washington, D.C. March for Life gathering via satellite, telling the pro-life participants that “every life is sacred,” and “every child is a precious gift from God.”

In his remarks to the pro-life faithful, the president said that 1973’s infamous Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision “has resulted in some of the most permissive abortion laws anywhere in the world,” noting that because of it, the United States is “one of only seven countries to allow elective late-term abortions, along with China, North Korea, and others. Right now, in a number of states, the laws allow a baby to be torn from his or her mother’s womb in the ninth month. It is wrong; it has to change.”

The president went on to promise that “under my administration, we will always defend the very first right in the Declaration of Independence, and that is the right to life.”

LifeSiteNews.com noted that since taking office, Trump has won the overwhelming praise and support of the nation’s pro-life community. “His actions include a variety of pro-life judicial and administrative appointees, executive actions that include restoring the ban on overseas abortion funding and rolling back the ObamaCare abortifacient coverage mandate, and vocally supporting the pro-life cause by addressing the March for Life and endorsing the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.”

However, the news site, noted, “pro-lifers most recently expressed frustration with the president for signing a $1.3 trillion spending plan that continues giving Planned Parenthood more than $500 million per year. Trump argued that the need to fund the military left him with no choice, and insisted he would ‘never sign another bill like this again.’”

Notwithstanding this misstep, pro-life activists appear willing to stand firmly behind the president, with Troy Newman of Operation Rescue saying that Trump “has proven to be the most pro-life president we have had in modern history and has backed up his pro-life rhetoric with action like no other before him.”

Late last year, as his group named President Trump 2017’s “Pro-Life Person of the Year,” Newman declared that pro-lifers “are proud of President Trump and his bold willingness to advance the cause of life. There are more battles ahead, but under the Trump administration, we can now finally see progress within our government toward restoring the sanctity of life and the protections of personhood to the pre-born.”

Twitter is notorious for hiding its bias with “shadow banning.” But its CEO, Jack Dorsey (shown), has now ventured a bit from the shadows, more overtly revealing his bias by endorsing an article calling for the GOP’s destruction and the “Californification” of the whole country.

Labeling it a “great read,” Dorsey tweeted the piece “The Great Lesson of California in America’s New Civil War” to his 4.18 million followers April 5. Authored by Reinvent founder Peter Leyden and leftist commentator Ruy Teixeira, the article calls “for a complete marginalization of the Republican Party and its voters since they only care ‘about rule by and for billionaires at the expense of working people,’” as the Daily Caller relates it. Of course, billionaires and the wealthy may (during a sodium pentothal moment) disagree — most of them today support Democrats.

The authors’ thesis is that “there’s no bipartisan way forward at this juncture” because conservatives are stuck in the past and resistant to “change,” which, of course, has become a leftist sacrament. For liberals and conservatives are divided, they aver, by two fundamentally different world views.

The latter is true. Never have we been so split over foundational issues. What is marriage? Should sex be (barely) governed by some animalistic libertinism or be pushed back toward the closet? Is sexual dimorphism a reality or are “male” and “female” just part of a “gender spectrum”? Is faith a necessary bulwark of civilization or a destructive anachronism? Et cetera.

It’s clear where the authors (and Dorsey) stand. Emphasizing in particular conservatives’ rejection of the climate-change and diversity agendas, they write, “Let’s just say what needs to be said: The Republican Party over the past 40 years has maneuvered itself into a position where they are the bad guys on the wrong side of history.”

This is a common claim, but it not only confuses bad with good but also history with current events. Traditionalists are certainly on the wrong side of the latter, just as Christians were in early A.D. Rome, late-1930s Germany, and the mid 20th-century USSR. But Rome, the Nazi regime, and the Soviets are now history — and Christianity is still part of current events. “A lie has speed, but truth has endurance,” the saying informs.

Speaking of speed, the authors write that a “political collapse could happen very fast, as it did in California,” referencing the state’s transition from GOP governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and 2005 ballot initiatives — which the writers call the “zenith of conservative Republican attempts to control California” — to the ascendancy of hard-left governor Jerry Brown and Democrat supermajorities in the legislature.

It’s certainly true that demographics and cultural conditioning favor Democrats. Every year we absorb a million-plus immigrants; 85 to 90 percent them hail from the Third World, and 70 to 90 percent of that group votes Democrat upon naturalization. (Welcome to the real reason leftists love“diversity.”) Moreover, the culture shapers — media, standard and social; academia; and entertainment — are brainwashing generations with leftist ideology, which is why Millennials break Democrat two-to-one.

Yet the authors make a mistake. California circa 2005 (and even 1995) was already a very left-wing state, and Schwarzenegger is a liberal Republican whose celebrity status won him the governorship. It can’t be equated with a traditionalist state such as Utah, Alabama, or Oklahoma. With politics downstream of culture, California could experience a rapid GOP collapse because it had already undergone a cultural collapse.

The authors equate what they predict is nigh with Republican dominance post-Civil War and Democrat hegemony during and after FDR’s presidency. They write, “At some point, one side or the other must win — and win big. The side resisting change, usually the one most rooted in the past systems and incumbent interests, must be thoroughly defeated — not just for a political cycle or two, but for a generation or two. That gives the winning party or movement the time and space needed to really build up the next system without always fighting rear-guard actions and getting drawn backwards…. The nation can’t take much more of our one step forward, one step back politics that gets little done despite the need for massive changes.”

This reflects a fundamental misunderstanding — but a common one. While there may be minor movements toward sanity (such as President Trump rescinding regulations), the overall pattern on what truly matters has thus far been irreversible gravitation leftwards. When do conservatives ever roll back anything of significance? There is no viable movement to eliminate faux (same-sex) marriage recognition; no proposal to rescind the thought-control legislation known as hate-crime-laws; no reversal of the ever-metastasizing “transgender” agenda; no halting of the left-wing drift of schools, media, and entertainment; no defunding of Planned Parenthood; and no alteration of our culture-rending immigration regime, in place since 1965. Why, even the recent budget deal was replete with enough liberal priorities so that Senator Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) could hail it as a victory.

Reality: Everything called a conservative triumph is — when not wholly illusory — merely a small movement rightwards on a ship steadily drifting left. It’s little more than rearranging the deck chairs.

Yet the real problem is our widespread failure to believe in Truth. This causes us to trade the correct conception of reality — Truth vs. lies — with right vs. left, two terms with no historically fixed definitions pertaining to ideology. Rightists and leftists were, respectively, monarchists and republicans during the French Revolution yet were something else in the USSR, fancy themselves something different again today, and (along with many conservatives) are confused in every time.

This brings us to “change” worship. The only consistent definition of “liberal” is the “desire to change the status quo.” Yet as G.K. Chesterton cautioned, “Progress is a comparative of which we have not settled the superlative.” In other words, “progress” implies movement toward a goal; thus, insofar as we’re unsure of the goal, we’ll be unsure of the progress.

If we believed in Truth, which is unchanging, and searched for it, we could have a concrete vision for civilization and know whether or not progress toward it was being achieved. But what is leftists’ vision? They have ever-shifting goalposts. Like pathologically rebellious children, their only constant is opposition to conservatives, those rather poor guardians of the status quo. Translation: Their only constant is undisciplined, ill-considered change. Why, a Barack Obama slogan was “Hope and Change.”

But hope isn’t a strategy, and change should be a means to an end, not an end unto itself. For “change” isn’t good by definition, and change unguided by proper principle (Truth) is like a rocket without a guidance system. It’s a recipe for crashing and burning.

But burning with misguided passion, leftists forge ahead with their progress toward they know not what. Dorsey, we now hear, does his part and personally chooses what Twitter accounts to ban (always conservatives). And Leyden, Teixeira, Senator Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) and others gleefully proclaim that California is America’s future. They’re given no pause by the state having soaring housing costs, a fleeing middle class, a debt crisis, the nation’s highest supplemental poverty rate, a balkanized populace, rampant illegal aliens, some of the United States’ worst schools, and homeless camps and a rich-poor divide reflective of the Third World. Yet these leftists may very well be correct that California reflects our tomorrow. If so, there’s one thing we certainly can say the republic’s future will be.

This is how Islamic supremacist and Leftist students are shutting down free discourse all over the country: by claiming that it makes them feel “unsafe.” At Stanford University, fascist students and faculty whipped up hysteria on campus in advance of my visit by claiming that my telling the truth about the nature and magnitude of the jihad threat would make Muslim students on campus feel “unsafe.” There was not a shred of evidence to support this claim, and of course no one was harmed in the aftermath of my appearance there, which was disrupted in any case by a planned and scripted walkout in which administrators made sure as few people as possible would hear me by preventing others who wanted to attend from entering after the walkout. This is life on university campuses today: American universities are no longer centers of higher learning, but are radioactive wastelands of hard-Left indoctrination. This holds true not just for huge universities such as Stanford, but also even for the smallest and ostensibly faith-based schools, such as Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire. Everywhere the hard-Left indoctrination is dominant, and there is little to no actual education going on.

Susana Asberry has been a full-time instructor at the University of Washington since 2006. She teaches English as a second language. On Monday, she shared exclusively with us how she has been put on probation for daring to mention God in direct response to a question from a student.

Asberry also helped students in an argumentative essay writing class debate against gay marriage — a topic the students chose to address. As of Tuesday, she is being sent to what amounts to a re-education session. She is accused of being discriminatory and even racist. Asberry is white and married to a black man. Their children are bi-racial. She says she is being censored and feels threatened.

How did this all start? During a writing unit that involved American slang, the students learned about the phrase “bucket list” and submitted their own examples. A student asked Susana about her bucket list and Susana replied: “When I retire, I want to share the word of God with people.”

One student complained. As an observant Muslim, who covers her body as part of her faith, she said she was made to feel unsafe. According to Susana, that is when her career changed.

As she explained on the program, Susana says she was drawn into an investigative process where her Director, James C. Evans asked her in an angry, accusatory tone: “Do you read your Bible at on campus?”

That was just the beginning of her odyssey. I want you to hear Susana, who grew up in the former Czech Republic, describe how she was treated by the University of Washington. It reminds her of how her loved ones were abused by Russian authorities when the Soviet Union invaded her birth Country.

Susana spoke out because she is concerned for future generations of teachers and students.

We have reached out to the University of Washington for a response. Through a spokesperson, the University said they will consider making a statement.

I am sharing, below, her letter to us.

In 2015, a female Muslim student filed a formal complaint against me stating that I had made comments about God during and after my class that were offensive to her and that I had not promoted a positive learning environment. Once during this class, I was teaching the term “bucket list” because it was in our textbook chapter, and students had to make a list of what would be on their bucket list and that is when a student wanted to know what would be on mine. I replied that I would like to tell people about God. Another time with this female Muslim student was outside my classroom when she was crying. She was very upset and disclosed to me that her husband was cheating on her. Trying to comfort her, I simply told her that during difficult times, I pray. Her complaint was made soon after she received a failing grade in this class at the end of that quarter. As a result of her complaint, I was summoned to a formal meeting with my Director, James C. Evans and Human Resources, and a warning letter was issued saying that I had violated the UW’s executive Order 31, a Nondiscrimination and Non-retaliation policy. Disregarding the fact that other Muslim students were in this class and that I had received high student evaluations at the end of that quarter. During this particular meeting, my Director asked me a question pertaining to my religion, “Do your read your Bible on campus?” In the final warning letter, the administration forbade me any mentioning of “God” or referencing to my religious belief such as praying. They concluded that my comments had harassed and discriminated against this female Muslim student. I disputed the incident with my union and only a copy of a letter of this incidence was placed into my employee personal file….

Due to discrimination and harassment because of my religion, my work place has become a hostile environment, and I am now afraid to teach. I did not, never have and do not discriminate against nor harass any of my students.
