A number of Roman Catholic dioceses nationwide—and also globally—have
been consecrating themselves to the “immaculate heart of Mary”
throughout 2017, a practice that evangelicals say is unbiblical and
gives to the earthly mother of Jesus the devotion that should
be bestowed to Christ alone.

“We are uniting ourselves to her who opens up the way for God to
enter, and we are uniting our hearts to her immaculate heart, the one
heart that is perfectly united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus,” James
Johnston Jr. of the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph, Missouri told the National Catholic Register.

The consecrations are being conducted as 2017 marks the 100th year since the purported 1917 apparitions of Mary
to child shepherds in Fatima, Portugal. The apparitions were stated to
have taken place on the 13th of each month over a six-month period.

“God desires to establish in the world devotion to my immaculate
heart,” Mary was quoted as stating during one of the appearances to the
children. “To whomever embraces this devotion I promise salvation; these
souls shall be dear to God, as flowers placed by me to adorn His
throne.”

Dioceses in Pennsylvania, California, Mississippi, Rhode Island,
Colorado, New York and other states have already conducted consecration
ceremonies, with more to follow for the remainder of the year.

“This is one way we can ask Mary to guide us and watch over us during
implementation [of the Priorities],” Mary Woodward, chancellor for
the Diocese of Jackson, Mississippi told the outlet Mississippi
Catholic.

They conducted their consecration on Sunday, Oct. 8.

The Diocese of Santa Rosa, California announced in a recent letter
that it plans to dedicate every parish and mission under its
jurisdiction to Mary during services on Dec. 9 and 10 between the
Catholic feasts of the Immaculate Conception and Our Lady of Guadalupe.

It also provided notice that those interested can participate in an online Marian Consecration Preparation Program.

“In our consecration we state, ‘We consecrate to you (Mary) our very
being and our whole life; all that we have, all that we love, all that
we are,’” the notice, issued by Robert Vasa, outlines.

“It is an act of trust in the love God has for us and in the love our
blessed mother has for us,” it continues. “We entrust ourselves to Her
maternal care with profound confidence and love. We trust that, having
given over everything we have and are to Her protection and even Her
dominion, we then rely on Her to distribute merits and graces where they
are most needed.”

On Oct. 13, the date of the last of the Fatima apparitions, Donald Wuerl, the Roman Catholic archbishop of Washington, plans to consecrate the entire United States to Mary at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.

“Many people are worried about the state of the world,” Connie
Schneider of Children of the Eucharist told reporters. “This is
something everyone can participate in; to light a candle and to entrust
families, our country and the world to the care of Our Lady of Fatima.”

Schneider’s organization, as well as the group Missionaries of the
Immaculate Heart of Mary, are the main sponsors of the event. The
candlelight rosary procession and entrustment prayer will be broadcast
live on EWTN to over 140 countries. According to the National Catholic Register,
EWTN is also airing a new film this week entitled “Queen of Heaven:
Mary’s Battle for Souls” to coincide with the Oct. 13 observance.

Diocese in Denver, Colorado; Minneapolis, Minnesota and Phoenix, Arizona will also hold ceremonies on that date.

However, while Roman Catholics have expressed an excitement about the
consecrations, opining that they are a work of God in the world,
others find the observances concerning as they attribute to Mary the
devotion and surrender that only belongs to Christ.

Gendron“It
is not surprising to see many Catholic dioceses across America falling
deeper into apostasy,” Mike Gendron of Proclaiming the Gospel Ministries
told Christian News Network. “Part of Rome’s apostasy includes their
exaltation of Mary as the ’cause of salvation for herself and for the
whole human race’ (Catechism of the Catholic church paragraph 494).
Catholics look to her as another sinless mediator who brings them ‘the
gifts of eternal salvation’ (CCC, para 969).”

“It is no wonder that far more Catholic Churches are named after Mary than the Name above all names,” he lamented.

Gendron said that some of the comments made by Roman Catholic bishops
in regard to the entrustment ceremonies, such as those of Robert Vasa,
wrongfully suggest that Mary has powers and attributes just like the
Godhead.

“To suggest that she has supernatural or divine power to protect
people within her dominion and also to be the source of divine grace is
blasphemy,” he declared. “Many people are unaware of Roman Catholicism’s
treasury of merit, which contain the merits of Mary that are co-mingled
with the inexhaustible merits of Christ (CCC. para. 1477). The Catholic
bishops teach that these merits can be distributed to souls suffering
in purgatory through indulgences.”

Gendron, a former Roman Catholic of 30 years, says that his heart breaks in observing many being deceived by such practices.

“The tragedy in all this is that Catholics are led astray from a pure
devotion to Christ (2 Cor. 11:3),” he stated. “Not only are they being
deceived by another Jesus which always leads to another gospel, they are
also being deceived by another Mary (2 Cor. 11:4).”

“My heart is full of compassion for Catholics who are where I was for
over half my life: believing I belonged to the one true Church, but
destined for an eternity in hell because I believed Rome’s false and
fatal gospel,” Gendron continued.

“This is the very nature of deception! People do not know they are
deceived until they are lovingly confronted with the truth. This truth
has been entrusted to every born again Christian and we need to
challenge Catholics in their unbelief,” he exhorted. “Their only hope is
repent and trust Christ alone for the salvation of their souls.”

The 10 Commandments of the IFB

  1. Though shalt have no other gods before me or make into thee any
    graven image – however though mayest hold in high esteem and worship the
    Independent Fundamental Baptist church and doctrine, and the KJV, and
    the pastor, oh and missionaries (but only IFB supported missionaries),
    oh and the mental image of that perfect IFBer who is sinless.
  2. Though shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain – though
    mayest not even use “gosh” or “cheese and crackers” because they too
    closely resemble their vain counter parts.
  3. Remember to keep the Sabbath day holy by going to church Sunday
    morning Sunday school, Sunday morning service, Sunday evening service,
    Wednesday night prayer meeting, Thursday evangelism outreach and
    Saturday morning door to door witnessing. On Sundays though must not do
    any work on the sabbath day but must sit on the couch and watch football
    or nap (if you are a man) or cook, clean and care for the children (if
    you are a lady).
  4. Honor thy father and thy mother – even if they don’t adopt our authoritarian parenting methods including spanking.
  5. Though shalt not murder – physically. Character assassinations are ok though.
  6. Though shalt not commit adultery – unless though art a pastor and
    his secretary or a pastor and the girls in his youth group. Then it’s
    ok.
  7. Though shalt not steal – unless though calleth it tithes, offerings,
    gifts, pastor appreciation offerings, building funds, missions funds,
    bus ministry funds or another project though hast deemed appropriate to
    take money from thy congregation.
  8. Though shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor – except
    through the proper gossip lines and only if thy motive is so that people
    can pray for that neighbor.
  9. Though shalt not covet – unless though art coveting thy neighbor’s new KJV Bible. Gluttony is also ok.
  10. Though shalt not listen to or sing music other than hymns with only
    piano and/or organ accompaniment or that which has already been approved
    such as Ron Hamilton, Frank Garlock, and/or a Majesty Music affiliate
    or other such Fundamental type music ministry.
  11. Though shalt dress modestly at all times. “Modest”, however, is
    defined only by the IFB and no other definition of modest is acceptable.
  12. Though shalt not be part of the world but ye must be separate from
    it. Though shalt not even give cause for anyone to even think that
    though art part of the world in anyway. Though must be completely
    separate in every way – so much so that though thinketh though art
    better than everyone else and so out of touch with society in general
    that though hast no idea what society needs or wants spiritually.
  13. Though must attend an IFB approved college or Bible Institute for higher learning and ministry preparation.
  14. Though shalt never be depressed, sad, angry, or experience any other “negative” type emotion.
  15. Though must never drink alcohol or even think about drinking an
    alcoholic beverage, going to a liquour store, bar or
    restaurant/convenience store that sells alcohol. Using medicine that
    contains alcohol is OK though, oh and so is vanilla extract.
  16. Though must strive for perfection in every way.

Yes, I realize there are more than ten but the IFB is allowed to add their own set if rules and laws so it’s OK.

 You didn’t eat any forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden. It was Adam. It was 
Eve. It wasn’t you. You didn’t do it. Yet, you are suffering the consequences of 
the offense of your first parents. The Apostle Paul made this clear in his Epistle 
to the Romans:

“Therefore,
just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through
sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned—for until the
Law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless
death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those who had not sinned
in the likeness of the offense of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to
come.” Romans 5:12-14

Death reigned even over those who had not sinned in the likeness of the offense of Adam. That doesn’t sit right with many but it is nevertheless true.
Paul’s statement from Romans concerns our first parents
but what about our actual parents? Do children suffer for the offenses
of their parents? Yes. Moses made this clear in his biblical writings:


“You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in
heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth. You
shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a
jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on
the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing lovingkindness to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.” Exodus 20:4-6

Moses quotes the passage above in Numbers 14:18 when conversing with the Lord and remind the Israelites of it in Deuteronomy 5:8-10.
The people of God are clearly not meant to forget it. The Lord gives
his warning to parents in the specific context of committing idolatry
but there is a an obvious principle: children suffer for the iniquity of
their parents. Even outside of specific divine punishment, this is a
truism of which parents are generally aware. When a parent makes a bad
decision, be it sinful or merely stupid, his child will suffer the
consequences. Unfortunately, this truism is lost among a group of professional theologians, chief among them top Southern Baptist ethicist Russell Moore, who recently drafted the Evangelical Leader Statement of Principles on Dreamers.
This statement advocates for immigration law amnesty in the cases of
certain children who were illegally brought into the United States by
their parents. While their outlook on government policy is debatable,
their clear flouting of biblical theology is completely unacceptable.
Their offense is summarized in a single sentence from their statement:

“We believe it is unjust to punish children for offenses they did not commit.”

How can this be so, if God has visited the iniquity of fathers on their children? Even if God no longer does it, he has done it. Justice
itself, in eternity past and going perpetually forward, is objectively
grounded in the nature of God. How can God have ever done something that
was unjust? Did Paul and Moses make false statements about God or did
the authors of the Evangelical Leader Statement of Principles on Dreamers, which does not include a single biblical citation, impugn the character of God?
In
the long history of the United States, immigrant parents have come to
this country to give their children a better life. This is true of
parents who have emigrated both legally and illegally. The logical
implication of the Evangelical Leader Statement of Principles on Dreamers
is that those parents who broke the law in an effort to give their
children a better life (despite any negative impacts on the children of
their neighbors) should be rewarded. Their children get to stay even
though they broke the law to bring them to the United States. The
parents did wrong; their children benefit because it’s apparently
“unjust to punish children for offenses they did not commit”. So, what
exactly is the consequence of the parents breaking the law? Their
children benefit and it’s unjust for the government to remove the benefit.

That’s hogwash.
How
is it that these leaders continue to be funded and given positions of
influence by Southern Baptists? Why are they given a platform to make a
patently unbiblical statement? Their sense of justice is obviously
grounded in a popular idea of human fairness and not the infallible word
of God. Southern Baptists should stop giving them money to contradict
the word of God to in the course of scoring political points.

Southern Baptists Cry Foul About DACA, 
Immigration Laws

The Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission has become the shallow
remnants of what it once was. Now with a former Democrat staffer at the
helm, the ERLC has been busy promoting animal rights, racial disharmony,
Cultural Marxism, and has followed other liberal mainstream
denominations in fighting against immigration law.

George
Soros, who funds the Evangelical Immigration Table, an organization of
liberal Christians fighting border security, on which serves Russell
Moore

Russell Moore – who serves on the Evangelical Immigration Table funded by George Soros and called a border wall a “golden calf” – has begun a document petition at the ERLC, requesting that DACA be reinstated. Moore, who implied that Southern Baptists disagree
with President’s Trump’s temporary terrorist-nation immigration ban, is
busy fighting for his progressive-liberal agenda with the full faith
and 4 million-a-year backing of the Southern Baptist Convention.
DACA stands for “Deferred Action on Childhood Arrivals” and refers to
President Obama’s decision in 2012 to not enforce standing immigration
law for those called “Dreamers,”
illegal aliens between the age of 18 and 35 who have been in the United
States more than five years and who were brought here illegally as
minors. DACA was not legislation, but “procedural law” of Obama’s
executive branch that essentially said it would use prosecutorial
discretion to simply not enforce immigration law. This presented a
Constitutional crisis, because even though law enforcement can exercise
discretion in deciding which individual cases to prosecute, they
typically have not essentially nullified legislation by applying that
discretion to entire classes or demographics of people. The Trump
Administration’s Department of Homeland Security rescinded Obama’s DACA
in September of this year on the grounds that it was an unconstitutional
power-grab by the executive branch of government.
Ironically, as President Trump’s DHS rescinded DACA, he said that he hoped congress would legally pass such an exemption
through the legislature. Virtually everyone – on both sides of the
political aisle – have said that they want to work out something similar
to DACA through the proper legislative (and constitutional) channels.
However, the social justice warriors at the ERLC and among the Evangelical Intelligentsia want to bleed their heart all over the blogosphere and signal their progressive virtue. The document says…

Biblically understood, a just system of law always has in
view human flourishing. We advocate for change to particular laws when
needed because of our respect for the rule of law. Many of us have
participated in our nation’s debate over immigration policy reform for
well over a decade, and these conversations within our churches about
the national immigration crisis have produced significant consensus
among members of our churches and communities.

“Human flourishing.” That’s the catch-all word used by the Jim
Wallis-wing of leftist Christianity. The document goes on to say, “We
believe Dreamers deserve to be recognized as our fellow Americans” and
calls on Congress to grant amnesty and a path of permanent Citizenship.
Signing the document include virtually all the names one would expect
to see from the inner-club of Intelligentsia, including DA Carson, Matt
Chandler, David Dockery, JD Greear, and newly minted Southern Baptist,
Greg Laurie. Other names include Rosaria Butterfield, whose most notable
accomplishment is having once been gay, and Karen Swallow Prior, a feminist and animal rights activist. Also signing is NAR charismatic, Samuel Rodriguez.

Presbyterian Megachurch ‘Pastor’ Says God Isn’t Male, Denies Exclusivity of Christ

Shannon Johnson Kershner is the impastor of the Fourth Presbyterian
Church of Chicago, a 5,500  member megachurch. The church just happens
to be the second-largest church belonging to the Presbyterian Church of
the United States of America (PCUSA). In a podcast with the Chicago Sun, she recently denied that Jesus is the only way to Heaven.
Known as the “Exclusivity of Christ,” this doctrine teachers that the
only means of salvation is through Christ. This is a benchmark doctrine
of virtually all Protestant Christian thought, and is enshrined in
Reformation theology as Sola Christus. Denying the Exclusivity
of Christ is tacitly a form of Universalism or pseudo-Universalism,
which teaches that ultimately, everyone (or most) will be saved whether
or not they come to Christ for their salvation.
Claiming that she desires to “reform” the church “from the inside
out,” Kershner has indeed set about to change historic Christian
doctrine.
Kershner begins her reforming of the church by first attacking the
doctrine of God, telling the Chicago Sun, that we should get
“beyond this idol of maleness that we’ve constructed both for the divine
as well as for clergy.” Of course, an idol is a manufactured image, but
God does reveal himself as male (although God the Father is spirit and
has no flesh, this is how he identifies Himself to us). It’s beyond
perverse to refer to a revealed attribute of God as an “idol.”
Why should we view God as female? Well, it’s so that little girls can
become pastors, with Kershner saying, ““I wanted to make sure
that little girls knew that God could call them to be pastors, too.”
Of course, God does not not little girls – or grown women – to be
pastors, and explicitly qualifies pastoral leadership as a male gender
role in the pastoral epistles of Timothy and Titus.
Kershner also said, “I really do not overly concern myself with
issues of salvation, especially salvation of other folks — that’s God’s
job description and not my own.” Of course Paul told Timothy – a pastor –
to do the work of an evangelist (2 Timothy 4:5) and proclaiming Good News to the lost is an essential function of the church and of church leadership.
When asked if Jesus was the only way to salvation, Kershner
responded, “No, God’s not a Christian. I mean, we are . . . For me, the
Christian tradition is the way to understand God and my relationship
with the world and other humans . . . But I’m not about to say what God
can and cannot do in other ways and with other spiritual experiences.”
Jesus was pretty clear about what God would and wound not do
regarding salvation, and affirmed his exclusive means of salvation in
places like John 14:6.

Good. I hope they win a massive settlement and drive them all out of
business. Each one has been cutting off its platform to foes of jihad
terror. In February, referrals from Facebook and Twitter to Jihad Watch
dropped by 90% and have never recovered. Google has changed its search
results so that when one searches for topics related to Islam and jihad,
only results whitewashing Islam’s links to terrorism come up. Meanwhile
jihad terrorists, as is clear from this case, have free rein. These
monopolies need to be broken up, and the sooner the better, as they are
actively working against the freedom of speech.

attack in Barcelona is suing Facebook, Twitter and Google for their part
in ‘aiding, abetting and knowingly providing support and resources’ to
ISIS, it has emerged

Jared Tucker, from Walnut Creek, was one of 13 people who died when a
van mowed down pedestrians on the Spanish city’s packed La Rambla on
August 17.

The three daughters of the 42-year-old, who was celebrating his one
year anniversary with wife Heidi Nunes-Tucker in Barcelona when he was
killed, have now filed a lawsuit against the tech giants.

According to the New York Post, the complaint claims the firms have
‘for years knowingly and recklessly provided the terrorist group ISIS
with accounts to use its social networks as a tool for spreading
extremist propaganda, raising funds and attracting new recruits.’…

It’s very likely that those classmates were also adherents of the
Religion of Peace. Jews have not had this kind of trouble in France
since World War II, until this period of massive Muslim immigration.

The Qur’an depicts the Jews as inveterately evil and bent on
destroying the well-being of the Muslims. They are the strongest of all
people in enmity toward the Muslims (5:82); they fabricate things and
falsely ascribe them to Allah (2:79; 3:75, 3:181); they claim that
Allah’s power is limited (5:64); they love to listen to lies (5:41);
they disobey Allah and never observe his commands (5:13). They are
disputing and quarreling (2:247); hiding the truth and misleading people
(3:78); staging rebellion against the prophets and rejecting their
guidance (2:55); being hypocritical (2:14, 2:44); giving preference to
their own interests over the teachings of Muhammad (2:87); wishing evil
for people and trying to mislead them (2:109); feeling pain when others
are happy or fortunate (3:120); being arrogant about their being Allah’s
beloved people (5:18); devouring people’s wealth by subterfuge (4:161);
slandering the true religion and being cursed by Allah (4:46); killing
the prophets (2:61); being merciless and heartless (2:74); never keeping
their promises or fulfilling their words (2:100); being unrestrained in
committing sins (5:79); being cowardly (59:13-14); being miserly
(4:53); being transformed into apes and pigs for breaking the Sabbath
(2:63-65; 5:59-60; 7:166); and more. They are under Allah’s curse
(9:30), and Muslims should wage war against them and subjugate them
under Islamic hegemony (9:29).

A 10-year-old girl was assaulted by her classmates and
the home of a family was daubed with racist graffiti in two Paris-area
incidents deemed antisemitic.

The alleged assault was reported to France’s ministry of education by
the National Bureau for Vigilance Against Antisemitism, or BNVCA, the
watchdog group wrote in a statement on its website Tuesday.  Separately,
the same group reported that unidentified individuals on Wednesday
wrote antisemitic slogans on the side of a home belonging to Jewish
family in the eastern suburb of Noisy le Grand.

The mother of the girl who allegedly was assaulted, identified by
BNVCA only as Ness, complained to police recently that a group of
classmates of her daughter in the public school which she attends in
Paris’ 18th district beat her on multiple occasions, often occurring day
after day, only because she is Jewish.
After one beating, Ness was brought to hospital with a visible
contusion to her stomach and ribcage, the report said, requiring 10 days
of recovery.

The child will be transferred to a different school, BNVCA wrote.

According to Francis Kalifat, the president of the CRIF federation of
Jewish communities of France, antisemitic harassment has made public
schools unsafe for Jews, leading to a sharp drop in the number of Jews
attending them. In the past, a third of Jewish parents enrolled their
children to public schools but now “no one does it,” he told JTA last
year.

In the incident involving antisemitic graffiti, BNVCA said it was
part of a campaign of intimidation against the family that owns the
building targeted.

This time, they wrote “screw the shitty Jews, death to Jews, long
live Palestine.” In recent years, the same family found in their mailbox
an envelope featuring the words “Allah hu akbar” – Arabic for Allah is
the greatest — with 9-milimeter bullets inside. They later received
another envelope with a bullet for an AK-47 assault rifle and the words:
“The next one is for you.”

The family is afraid to live in their home, wrote BNVCA, which
complained to police about the incidents committed against the family
and called on authorities to apprehend the culprits….

The Left is working hard to destroy the freedom of speech and silence
all those who dissent from the globalist, internationalist, socialist
and pro-jihad agenda. Leftist politicians already maneuvered Trump into
signing one measure against “hate groups,” when the Southern Poverty Law
Center’s manipulative and propagandistic “hate group” list includes
legitimate groups along with the KKK and the neo-Nazis, in an attempt to
destroy them.

This whole concept of “hate groups” and “hate speech” is contrary to
the freedom of speech. If “hate speech” is proscribed by the government,
a tyranny will be established in which Leftists can simply outlaw and
deny all platforms to those they hate by labeling them in this way. It’s
coming, unless enough people wake up in time.

A collection of conservative leaders have written to President Trump,
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Speaker of the House Paul
Ryan expressing “grave concern” about a joint resolution approved by the
Senate and House targeting “hate speech.”

Hastily enacted Sept. 14 without public debate, Public Law 115-58,
the leaders write, could “lead to unconstitutional suppression of
freedom of expression aimed at silencing those smeared by political
opponents as, for example, ‘haters,’ ‘racists’ or ‘bigots.’”

“Many of us have been slandered in this fashion, falsely
characterized as ‘white supremacists’ or some other, similarly
disparaging epithet simply because we support, for example, traditional
marriage, civil liberties rather than Sharia, secure borders and the
enforcement of our immigration laws and/or effective counterterrorism
policies,” they write.

Even worse, they say, the name-calling is “just the leading edge of
an aggressive campaign to ruin the financial condition and prevent the
widespread dissemination of the work of individuals and groups being
targeted for what amounts to unrestricted political warfare.”

The statute “urges the President and his administration to speak out
against hate groups that espouse racism, extremism, xenophobia,
anti-Semitism, and White supremacy and use all resources available to
the President and the President’s Cabinet to address the growing
prevalence of those hate groups in the United States.”

The letter calls upon the attorney general, the secretary of homeland
security and the heads of other federal agencies to engage in such
activities as investigating “thoroughly all acts of violence,
intimidation, and domestic terrorism by White supremacists, White
nationalists, neo-Nazis, the Ku Klux Klan, and associated groups” and to
improve “the reporting of hate crimes and to emphasize the importance
of the collection, and the reporting to the Federal Bureau of
Investigation, of hate crime data by State and local agencies.”

The problem, the leaders say, is that the statute does not define
terms such as “hate group,” “white supremacist,” “extremist,”
“anti-immigrant” and “xenophobia.”

“These open-ended mandates, they argue, “invite abuses of power by the state.”

Among the signatories are Frank Gaffney of the Center for Security
Policy, retired U.S. Navy Admiral James Ace Lyons Jr., Mat Staver of
Liberty Counsel, Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch, Brigitte Gabriel of ACT!
For America, Joseph Farah of WND.com and DHS whistleblower Philip
Haney.

The statute particularly gives legitimacy and power to
“self-appointed arbiters of ‘hate,’ such as the discredited Southern
Poverty Law Center and others on the radical left and their Islamic
allies, the conservative leaders warn….

In their letter, the conservative leaders point to other bills
“designed to further advance this agenda and now awaiting consideration
may similarly be foisted upon the American people to their grave
detriment.”

The bills include:

  • “The National Opposition to Hate, Assault, and Threats to Equality Act of 2017” —
    the “No HATE Act” — which would expand governmental efforts to collect
    “hate crimes” data and create private rights of action for “crimes
    motivated by actual or perceived race, color, religion, or national
    origin.”
  • Senate Resolution 118, passed in April, which
    condemns “any other form of racism, religious or ethnic bias,
    discrimination, incitement to violence, or animus targeting a minority
    in the United States.” The conservative leaders contend it cites
    discredited data about hate crimes to justify intensified federal action
    to “detect and deter hate crimes to protect minority communities.”
  • “The Disarm Hate Act,” House Continuing Resolution
    77, urges the president “to prohibit the hiring of individuals … who
    have supported or encouraged support for White supremacists” and “to use
    all available resources of the office of the President and the Cabinet
    to address the growing prevalence of such hate groups domestically.”

The conservative leaders contend the legislative initiatives “share a
false narrative, namely that the United States is overwhelmed with
large numbers of ‘white supremacists’ and individuals and groups
allegedly associated with them who pose a threat to the rights of
minorities and other Americans.”

“This narrative is unsupported by the facts,” they write. “More
importantly, this narrative is based on the same undefined terms now
codified in PL115-58, terms that are used to defame and incapacitate
people and organizations like the signatories of this letter simply
because they effectively oppose the agenda of those who have made a
cottage industry of ‘hate’ and employ it as an instrument of political
warfare.”…
